A great thread that had my reading for hours. Tommy Lee Jones and Jared Leto come up with unsurprising regularity. Some, like Shaq have severe swings in reactions, some calling him the greatest, most friendly and others hating him. Michael Jordan and Kobe are not favorites either. This is a one of the best posts I've ever read on Musk:
Elon Musk. He stayed at a mountain resort that I worked at in 2018 . He was luckily only there for 3 days but he was an utter terror the entire time he was there.
He refused to be checked in at the reception area and demanded a private check in at his cabin which is fine but we ask ahead of time so we can staff properly for the later arrivals.
He asked for the youngest female concierge on staff to be sent to the check in with nobody else for "security" reasons. I took the check in myself instead of sending the 19 year old and took the largest and oldest driver I could find for security reasons.
He wanted the personal cell phone numbers for all female concierge staff. I said that is against out policy and set him up with the resort app so he could contact whoever was on duty for a prompt answer.
He harassed every single female employee so nastily that by the time he had been there for 12 hours every department switched him to only male staff. He didn't tip any of the wait staff or guides for any activities. He booked a private horseback ride that a wrangler was brought in specially for the day and then refused to go because he didn't like the colors of any of the horses available , and he wanted to ride a really "butch and muscular" horse. He meant a draft horse, which we had for pulling wagons but none for riding.
He also had insane demands. He wanted a 80 year old beautiful ponderosa pine cut down because he didn't like how the light hit it at sunset. He wanted shock collars put on the squirrels to stop them from being too loud. And he wanted us to trap a grizzly bear and bring it to his cabin for a few hours so he could take pictures and study it.
He was the rudest, stupidest and most arrogant POS I have ever encountered.

There was the family room or den with the TV and you could bring friends, but there was a whole other separate living room. It was where the Christmas tree was and you could only go in that room maybe once or twice a year. It was reserved for guests, only.

I noticed this with a lot of people. When I encounter people from wealthy first world countries like Norway or Switzerland they don’t make a big deal about their country or ethnic identity. But have you ever met an immigrant from the Philippines or El Salvador? They incessantly go on about how their country and culture and food and people are the best. Filipino pride! Everything about the Philippines is better! You never hear someone from Norway talking like this.
Same with states. People from California are pretty relaxed and don’t make a big deal about it. People from New Jersey, which you can smell from the turnpike, with loudly and angrily tell you about how wonderful New Jersey is.

After "surviving" long 12 years in show business as a ballet and chorus dancer, she got her big break and a Tony Award as the tough-as-nails Shelia in Marvin Hamlisch and Michael Bennett's A Chorus Line. This led to a string of work on the stage and screen; Promises Promises, An Unmarried Woman, The Thorns, Dirty Dancing, Six Degrees of Separation, Miami Rhapsody, Central Park West, Law & Order, Cafe Society, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Proposals.
Then, in 2000 she landed the part she is most remembered for: the stern and regal matriarch Emily in hit WB series Gilmore Girls.
Now, at 80, she recently released her memoir, The Third Gilmore Girl. In her book, she describes her long marriage, her career, her love of golf and ballet, and the many lessons she's learned along the way.

The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla who also purchased X, Musk joined Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, where the former president survived an assassination attempt in July. He warned “this will be the last election” if Trump doesn’t win and, clad in a black-on-black cap bearing the “Make America Great Again” slogan of Trump’s campaign, appeared to acknowledge the foreboding nature of his remarks.

This nice man baked a 15-layer Funfetti birthday cake decorated with meringue and rainbow cookies and French buttercream for his friend's birthday. He took it to the high-end restaurant for the birthday dinner, and it was taken back into the kitchen. After dinner, they served very slim slices of the cake to them. The slices should have been 3x thicker than the ones they served. I feel so sorry for this sweet man.
Then the story took a surprising turn.....

It was such a stupid show. Why was it so successful? The stories were completely negligible, and the setting really wasn't that glamorous.
The only reason I can think it was a hit for so long was the chance to see old Hollywood stars again do something, and they were willing to do the show since it was so ridiculously lightweight and non-taxing.

It will be exactly like how “screw everyone” Gen Xers became MAGA Republicans
Saying that there are problems with the Democratic Party is an extremely common gripe among the Left (capital L left, not MSNBC viewer left)
However, instead of giving the typical reasons a Leftist would give for this disenchanted - insufficient protections for workers, an insufficient social welfare infrastructure, unwillingness to dismantle the military-industrial complex, letting big businesses and wealthy donors dictate policy decisions, lethargic commitment to climate change response, etc., etc…
Roan’s complaint is that the left is TRANSPHOBIC.
HOW.
What in modern liberalism, the most pro-transgender mainstream variant in American history, under a candidate from San Francisco who famously introduced herself by stating her pronouns at an LGBT fundraiser four years ago, is transphobic. Name one thing.
Chappell Roan DOES NOT CARE ABOUT TRANSGENDER PEOPLE. She is just another ARROGANT WHITE WOMAN hiding behind them to mask her own nihilism and ignorance.
In other words,
FUTURE KAREN.

On October 1, 1979 Barbra Streisand released her second album in 1979 (The OST to 'The Main Event' was released four months earlier) titled 'WET', a concept album of Barbra's love of 'water'. This was the third and final album produced by Gary Klein of 'The Entertainment Company', her first two ('Superman' in 1977 and 'Songbird' in 1978) were some of her biggest pop album sellers in her career.
It was reported that Streisand wet into the studio on July 23rd to begin recording for the album, recording the title track to 'set the mood' for the rest of the album. She was accompanied by a 55 piece orchestra, and co-wrote the song. Over the next couple of weeks, she went on to record the rest of the album, including 'After The Rain' which was originally written without lyrics in 1976 for the Michael Caine movie 'The Eagle Has Landed'. Streisand loved the melody of the 'love theme' and asked her friends Marilyn and alan Bergman to write the water-themed lyrics. "Kiss Me In The Rain" was the second single from the album, written by newly found songwriting team Lisa Rattner and Santo Farina. It was released in December, 1979 and nicked the Top 40 in February, 1980 peaking at #38.
The big hit was 'No More Tears' the duet with Donna Summer, written by Paul Jabara. The two divas headed into the recording studio on August 14, and recorded the hit disco song over a two week period. Both singers had their labels work out an agreement so the two could duet together, and the first single off their respective albums was released on October 4, 1979. The single spent a fortnight at #1 starting in mid-November, giving each singer her fourth #1 on the Hot 100. This was Summer's fourth #1 in twelve months, unheard of back then for a female singer, while it was Streisand's fourth in five years. An 'extended' recording was released on Summer's album "Greatest Hits - On the Radio - Volumes 1 & 2' a few weeks later. Both the 7" and 12' versions hit #1 on their respective charts.
Another single quickly written by Jabara, titled 'It's Raining Men', attempted to bring Streisand, Summer and Diana Ross together to record it as a trio for each of their albums coming out. Summer backed out of the proposal due to some lyrics, while Ross' label 'Motown' couldn't reach an agreement with Columbia. The song was shelved for a few years.

A lawyer for a new Sean “Diddy” Combs accuser claims that she’s been contacted about the “sale of one of the Diddy tapes,” specifically a pornographic video featuring the embattled hip-hop mogul, indicted last week on federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges, and someone “more high-profile” than the rapper and Bad Boy founder.
“There already have been tapes leaking around Hollywood being shopped around, … but one particular person contacted me to shop a particular video they were in possession of and to contact the person who was in the video to see if they were interested in purchasing the video before it became public knowledge,” Ariel Mitchell-Kidd said Friday on NewsNation’s Banfield. “I can tell the video was pornographic in nature. … This was in his Atlanta home, and it does seem the person isn’t looking into the video. To me, it doesn’t seem like that person knows they’re being videotaped.”
Mitchell-Kidd also said she was contacted a few weeks ago by a new client who claims Combs raped her in 2018 and filed a police report at the time.
“She called me and told me about her assault and her escape,” Mitchell-Kidd said. “She was at a friend’s house who had industry ties, and Diddy decided to come to the house.”
Mitchell-Kidd claims her client learned Combs was planning on sex trafficking her when he arrived.
“It led to her being served a drink. She started to feel woozy. Combs sexually assaulted her with an inanimate object,” Mitchell-Kidd said. “And then directed another gentleman to sexually assault her while he watched and pleasured himself.”
Mitchell-Kidd said her client was able to escape, running into the street, which was witnessed by a neighbor.

Gruff but compassionate are the only words I can think of to describe veteran American actor George C. Scott.
From the beginning he appeared in classic films such as Anatomy of a Murder, The Hustler, and Dr. Strangelove, but he catapulted to international stardom when he starred as the titular character in Franklin J. Schaffner's Patton, where he won the Oscar but told the Academy to " kindly lose my number." After Patton, he continued to appear in both critical and cult classics; The Hospital, Hardcore, The Changeling, Firestarter, A Christmas Carol, The Ryan White Story,12 Angry Men, and The Exorcist III.
When not working, he campaigned and advised his close friend and neighbor, Lowell Weicker.
What is the legacy of George C. Scott?

I'm legitimately looking for advice. I have a good job with a state university, but sold my home and moved to a new city right before covid. The proceeds from the sale of my home are gone, because I didn't work for two years while paying rent. I now live month to month because my rent is so high. I have about $100,000 in a traditional IRA. I will receive a small pension as well. My parents are loaded, but not willing to help me out with a down-payment for a house. They are in their late 70s. I am in my mid 50s. Should I cash out my IRA and use it to purchase a home? I hate renting, but can't save enough for a down-payment. I only have one sibling. We will inherit over a million each plus income from an LLC. What should I do?

Finished [italic]Sub Rosa[/italic], which I can recommend if you're a fan of Roman-era fiction such as the Falco series. I know ... a woman writing MM, ugh! Here, I think she did okay, although a bit awkward at times. Audio narrator has very pronounced "gay voice" which I think is his own, not for effect.
Finishing up a second book by Vendela Vita. Didn't like it any more than the other one, reads like a self-published un-edited work. I'm left wondering if she's published because she's married to successful Dave Eggers?

She was wonderful in this movie and it's so ironic she was playing an actress who desperately wants to win the Oscar and is bitterly disappointed when she loses but in real life she actually won the Academy Award for best supporting actress.

Just watched this film for the first time in years last night. It holds up okay because it's a pretty "small" film as it is. The ambiance is nice, but the whole avenging lost gold thing was very corny.
Also, Adrienne Barbeau is not a good actor. Jamie Lee Curtis looked just like Geri Jewell did on The Facts of Life. I was always confused why John Carpenter continually cast the underwhelming Tom Atkins in so many projects.
Nancy Loomis has the worst line readings in the history of acting, but she looked much prettier in this than she did in Halloween and the negativity she constantly conveys worked for the character. Loomis would have been perfect to play Debbie Downer in a movie version of the SNL sketch.
Janet Leigh aged very quickly, as this film was only twenty years after Psycho and she looked like an old lady.

One thing that this Diddy scandal is revealing is how corrupt and disgusting the people in the hip hop music industry are.
First, there was R. Kelly. He would sleep with minors promising them record careers.
Now there is Diddy.
Chris Brown is a domestic abuser.
And in 2024, there have not been a whole lot of hip hop songs hitting the top 10, it’s mostly been pop and country.
Why would hip hop remain popular now, knowing what people it’s associated with?
Make music WHITE again!

Chris Pine is the second celebrity to be "swatted" in the past week and a half and it's not the first time police have shown up on the doorstep of his California home.
The 44-year-old was reportedly surprised when police knocked on his door in response to a 911 call they received alleging someone had been sexually assaulted at the address, which matched Pine's place of residence, per a statement the local Los Angeles Police Department shared with TMZ.
According to the outlet, shortly after officers arrived on the scene and spoke with the Poolman star, they determined the call made was bogus and the fourth incident of "swatting"—or the act of intentionally placing a hoax emergency call to draw a strong police response to an address—at Pine's address.
Law enforcement officials explained to the outlet that they tried to contact the caller, who they've also determined doesn't live in California, but they were uncooperative and hung up. Police say they are now investigating the caller for the crime of filing a false police report and working to determine if the same person is responsible for the additional three calls officers previously responded to.
Pine's most recent surprise visit from law enforcement comes a little over a week after Jennifer Aniston was the target of a similar incident, with police receiving a concerning phone call in the middle of the night that led them to make a welfare check at the provided address, which was Aniston's home. When police arrived, they spoke with the Morning Show star's security and were able to determine the call made was a false alarm.
Along with Aniston, other reported victims of swatting include Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Clint Eastwood, Tom Cruise and more. So far, neither Pine nor a rep for the actor has issued a public statement regarding the incidents.

Janet Jackson tells The Guardian that she heard Kamala Harris isn’t Black:
“Well, you know what they supposedly said? She’s not black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian. […] Her father’s white. That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”
Why are people lying to her about Kamala’s father being white? Black can be argued but white certainly can’t.

WHITESBURG, Ky. (FOX 56) — Spectators cried out in a Morgan County courtroom as surveillance video played, depicting the shooting death of District Judge Kevin Mullins.
Former Letcher County Sheriff Shawn “Mickey” Stines appeared before a judge on Tuesday afternoon for a probable cause hearing. Stines was arrested without incident on Sept. 19 after he reportedly shot and killed the district judge in his chambers.
Lead investigator, Kentucky State Police Detective Clayton Stamper, was called to the witness stand. According to Stamper, surveillance video captured the exchange that led to Stines shooting Mullins multiple times.
On Tuesday, the Commonwealth played a roughly 10-second clip from the recording. The Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts subsequently released the clip to FOX 56.
Kentucky sheriff reportedly shoots judge: A look at the timeline, investigation
The clip’s start is timestamped for 2:52 p.m. on Sept. 19. According to Stamper, before this, Stines had been seated and is seen standing to the side of Mullins’ desk with his hands in the air.
Stines raised his weapon, pointed it directly at the judge, and fired at least one shot at Mullins before he fell from his chair.
As Stines rounds the corner, Mullins moves underneath the desk with his hands covering his head. It appears that Stines fired another shot, but the desk obscures the view.
Video shows the desk sliding across the floor as Stines moves toward the door to open it before firing another shot at Mullins.
The entire exchange lasted a matter of seconds.
Stamper testified that it’s standard for judge’s chambers to be equipped with security cameras. However, no sound was captured.
During the exchange, Stamper said that there were people in the next room over. They weren’t able to hear what led to shots being fired, but they could hear gunshots and Mullins pleading for help.
The video released is only a piece of a larger picture, according to testimony on Tuesday.
The entire video reportedly shows Stines making a phone call and then using Mullins’ phone to make a call. Stamper testified that the outgoing calls were made to Stines’ daughter and that shots rang out just moments after the calls were made.
He said that Stines’ daughter has been interviewed with a parent present, but her phone was not collected as evidence yet.
Both Mullins’ and Stines’ phones were sent for forensic examination, but investigators have yet to receive the results. A woman reportedly employed by the Letcher County Sheriff’s Office also gave her phone to investigators to be examined. Stamper testified that she was one of Stines’ employees and believed she’d received text messages from Stines that detailed what occurred at lunch and ultimately led to the shooting.
According to court documents, the defense established probable cause in Tuesday’s hearing, and the case is set to be heard by a grand jury.

It was far worse than anyone realized. When Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested for sex trafficking racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution on September 16, prosecutors alleged in a 14-page indictment that as the head of a “criminal enterprise,” he abused women, engaged in drug-fueled, days-long sex parties called Freak Offs, and threatened everyone in his circle to keep them quiet. (He pleaded not guilty.)
“Hearing all of the horrific stories,” says a source exclusively to In Touch, “fans are looking at his associations with other stars in a whole new light.”
None more so than Justin Bieber. After the news broke, fans bombarded his Instagram page with messages of support. “The world should have protected you,” wrote one, while another urged him to “expose” Diddy, who took the young singer under his wing when he was just 15.
“The last thing Justin wants to do is relive or even discuss his complicated friendship with Diddy,” the insider says of the troubled star, who has long struggled with drug addiction, suicidal ideations and multiple public meltdowns. “But he’s finally breaking his silence to his friends about his nightmare experience and the private hell it’s caused him.”
In hindsight, their relationship was always troubling. Justin, who was about 13 when they were first introduced by Usher, was often seen hanging out with Diddy, 54, during Justin’s meteoric rise to fame. In March, a 2009 clip of the pair resurfaced. “He’s having 48 hours with Diddy. What we’re doing, we can’t really disclose,” the music mogul boasts. “But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream … we’re gonna go full crazy.” Justin’s response: “Let’s just go get some girls.”
He’s hinted at some of the trauma he suffered as a young star: One viral video of Justin singing about a “Diddy party” turned out to be AI-generated, but in his 2020 track “Lonely,” he sings, “Everybody saw me sick, and it felt like no one gave a s--t.” And in a heartbreaking 2020 video that is recirculating, Justin tearfully talks about his past.
“It was hard for me, being that young and being in the industry and not knowing where to turn,” he told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, adding that he “wants to protect” Billie Eilish, who also started out at 13. “If she ever needs me, I’m going to be here for her. I don’t want her to go through anything I went through. I don’t wish that upon anybody.”
He’s told multiple young stars to call him “if they find themselves in a tough situation,” says the source. “He’s tried to be up-front about his demons and how he’s relied on therapy and his faith to get back on track. Still, it’s been hard to have all of this stuff being dredged up.” Right now, adds the source, he’s focusing on his “massively supportive” wife Hailey and their 1-month-old son, Jack, “but if speaking about his past trauma can help others, he probably will. He wants to break the cycle, once and for all.”

Former Fox News employee Kimberly Guilfoyle has launched her own attack against Ron DeSantis for entering the 2024 election race.
Guilfoyle, known for her outspoken tendencies, voiced her views via Newsmax. "You're gonna run against Donald Trump? You are going to get hurt and damaged, badly. That is the problem," she said.
"So, by the time Trump is done – we saw this before, 16 people, one after the next, fell off the stage – you're gonna end up in the junkyard, and you're not gonna be in good shape for 2028," she continued in her tirade.
Guilfoyle was also a prominent figure in the media and left Fox News in 2018 after being accused of sexual harassment by one of her assistants.
No word if Gargoyle is threatening to 'hurt DeSantis' by suffocating him with her faux breasts, or by forcing him to smell her dirty cooch. But she has something planned.

[quote]In a randomized controlled trial, the probiotic Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis – used in many probiotic products, including Dannon's Activia yogurts – did nothing to improve bowel health in people with constipation, according to data from a randomized triple-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial published Wednesday in JAMA Network Open.
[quote]The study adds to a mixed and mostly unconvincing body of scientific literature on the bowel benefits of the bacterium, substrains of which are sometimes sold with faux scientific-sounding names in products. Dannon, for instance, previously marketed its substrain as "Bifidus regularis."

Looking at old hot 100 charts from the late 50s until the mid 80s, instrumental songs regularly made the top 10 on the hot 100 with numerous ones hitting number one. Then after the Miami vice theme hit number one and Axel F was a huge hit in 1985, they dropped off sharply and eventually to nothing. Harlem Shake made it to the top in 2011, but that was a novelty song. Why did radio and the music industry stop playing/promoting them?

Short on supplies, power and patience, storm victims who saw the brutal force of Helene upend their lives have emerged to a new week, facing the daunting challenge of rebuilding.
Some of the roads and bridges they need to do the job aren’t there anymore. Electricity could be a week away or longer. Emergency services are stretched. Communications infrastructure is in shreds. And neighbors, some of whose own homes are gone, are helping neighbors – all the while worrying about the fate of those from whom they haven’t heard.
At least 102 people have died across six states since Helene, which made landfall in Florida as a mammoth Category 4 hurricane, tore through the Southeast and left millions without power and communications.
North Carolina suffered the highest death toll, at least 42 so far – a grim number that could rise as crews make their way to the hardest hit areas. The most recent fatalities include five deaths reported in Henderson County, along with the death of a sheriff’s deputy in Macon County who was swept away by the storm.
At least 25 storm victims also perished in South Carolina, 17 in Georgia, 11 in Florida, four in Tennessee and two in Virginia. Hundreds have been reported missing, perhaps unable to leave their location or unable to contact family due to damaged communications infrastructure.
Helene’s path of destruction stretched more than 500 miles, from coastal Florida to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ravaged by the storm, the historic North Carolina mountain community of Asheville is now isolated as hundreds of roads in the Carolinas remain closed, hampering the delivery of badly-needed supplies — and making it difficult to get people out.
More than 2 million customers remain without power, according to PowerOutage.us. Power companies are dealing with damaged and blocked roads as they work to restore power to homes and businesses.
President Joe Biden will visit some of the affected communities later this week, “as soon as it will not disrupt emergency response operations,” the White House said Sunday evening. He will speak Monday morning at the White House about federal efforts underway to speed resources to where they are needed. The president approved disaster relief and has been in contact with the governors where the damage was most severe.
Amid cleanup efforts, a Buncombe County resident told CNN she has no power, running water or cell phone reception.
Clutching firewood in her hands, Meredith Keisler, a school nurse, said: “We’re collecting wood because we have a grill to make fire, to cook food,” she said.
While Keisler says she considers herself lucky with resources at her home, she plans to work at a shelter to help others.
“It’s incredible — the destruction. It’s really sad,” she noted when asked about her surroundings.
About 20 miles east of Asheville, Krista Cortright said her boyfriend’s grandmother had no way of getting out of Black Mountain due to flooding. Cortright told CNN the couple had to get to her since she had limited supplies and she is diabetic.
It typically takes the couple 25 minutes to travel from Marion to the grandmother’s house. On Sunday, due to road closures, it took them 2.5 hours.
“Things are even more devastating in person,” Cortright said. “(Western North Carolina) is going to take a very long time to recover, but I am so grateful that we are here and doing OK. My heart is broken for our people here.”
Michael Callahan, president of Duke Energy’s utility operations in South Carolina, said infrastructure repairs need to precede power restoration efforts.
As of Sunday night, about 760,000 homes and businesses were without electricity in South Carolina, according to PowerOutage.us.
In Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia, more than 1.2 million customers were without power.
Officials in Buncombe County, North Carolina – where at least 30 people have died – have received about 600 missing persons reports through an online form, County Manager Avril Pinder said Sunday.
Former FEMA administrator Craig Fugate encouraged people not to lose hope.

I accept this price point (or much higher) for drinks when I am sitting up at the rooftop bar at The Erwin in Venice Beach overlooking the gorgeous Pacific ocean, surrounded by palm trees, feeling a warm breeze on my cheeck, and I can count multiple literal Hollywood stars sitting five feet away from me shmoozing. But "The Fourth Wall" is a dark hole, with Christmas lights strung up lazily and paneling reminiscent of a Mike Brady 70s sex dungeon. $15 dollar well drinks to sit at a crowded bar listening to rap music.
Does its proximity to the Commons and to theaters really legitimize this price point?
Are you all paying this much regularly for your drinks?

They deserve Emmy’s for their brilliant supporting performances in this series. I’ve NEVER liked Sevigny, but I thought she was amazing in the latter half of the season (where we see more of the parents). And Bardem is just terrific. The episode that focuses strongly on Jose Menendez was incredible and his performance was top tier. The scene where he calls his mother… powerful.
I’m beyond impressed. I’m shocked some people say the performances were bad.
Both Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch give amazing performances but Chavez has this natural “star aura” to him that can’t be faked. The camera loves him and your eyes just naturally gravitate toward him, and not just because he’s attractive. He just has that glow.
With that said, Cooper Koch gives the better performance and is gorgeous too, just not the same as Chavez. The episode that is focused on him giving his testimony to the lawyer was probably my favorite of the series because he was brilliant. A very moving and understated performance. I never once felt I was watching two people act, but felt I was watching a true testimony video. Amazing.

I recommend trying the Walmart Pumpkin Sandwich Cookies this Fall season. I discovered them through a youtuber several years ago and they are very good. I have purchased them every year since.
A light whipped cream cheese frosting with a very slight hint of cinnamon between two soft, cakey pumpkin cookies.
The flavors are well balanced, not overpowering and not too weak. I've taken then to the Office and to get togethers and everyone has really liked them.

A man working at McDonald’s started a massive dumpster fire when the business showed no signs of slowing down during his Sunday shift last year, federal prosecutors said.
Joshua Daryl McGregor cleared the crowd of hungry customers at the Savannah, Georgia, McDonald’s by lighting a piece of cardboard on fire and tossing it into a dumpster, which had more pieces of cardboard, according to court documents.
McGregor, now 34, of Savannah, was “frustrated because the drive through was so crowded,” court documents say.
He made sure the fire ignited, went back inside and then returned to film the blaze as it grew larger, causing cars lined up in the drive-thru to leave, including customers who never received their food, according to prosecutors.
The fire became so intense that customers in the drive-through lane had to back out of the parking lot, and the restaurant was forced to briefly close while the Savannah Fire Department extinguished the blaze, according to court documents and testimony.
There was no question McGregor caused the blaze, as he was seen starting the fire on McDonald’s surveillance footage, according to his plea agreement. At the time, he was training to be a manager and later posted footage of the fire on Facebook, prosecutors said.
“Certainly, we were disappointed that Josh would face any form of federal prison time for this incident,” McGregor’s defense attorney, William Joseph Turner, told McClatchy News on Aug. 1.
“The original recommendation to the Court was over 15 years in custody, which would have been a travesty of justice,” Turner said.
“Josh is a good man that made a mistake, and he will move past this,” he added.
McGregor filmed the fire with his cell phone and was identified on surveillance video as the person responsible for starting the fire, according to the release. He was arrested by Savannah Police Department (SPD) investigators, and in May pled guilty to the charges.

Looks like Harry and Meghan have done it again — they’ve chewed up yet another American adviser.
Josh Kettler, the Santa Barbara-based consultant who’d been serving as chief of staff to the Duke and Duchess, reportedly resigned in August — after just three months on the job — becoming the latest member of the ever-expanding “Sussex Survivors Club,” as some former employees have taken to calling themselves. Before Kettler, there was Toya Holness, who was their global press secretary until 2022, and Christine Weil Schirmer, the onetime Pinterest communications director who quit as Harry and Meghan’s PR head in 2021. Samantha Cohen, Markle’s top aide and private secretary, departed the same year.
Earlier, there was Keleigh Thomas Morgan, a Sunshine Sachs partner who started repping Meghan when she was still a commoner (well, a TV star on Suits), adding Harry to her client roster when they became engaged and then helping them set up their own internal comms operation when the couple moved to California.
(Sources tell Rambling Reporter that Morgan stopped repping them around 2020, because the Sussexes stopped paying Sunshine Sachs for its services, though the PR firm denies that was the case.) Other members of the Survivors Club include Catherine St-Laurent, who lasted a year as head of the Sussexes’ charity Archewell; Archewell COO Mandana Dayani; content chief Ben Browning (who got Harry and Meghan’s documentary on Netflix before bolting for FilmNation); and marketing chief Fara Taylor.
Why’d they all leave? What explains the churn? “Everyone’s terrified of Meghan,” claims a source close to the couple. “She belittles people, she doesn’t take advice. They’re both poor decision-makers, they change their minds frequently. Harry is a very, very charming person — no airs at all — but he’s very much an enabler. And she’s just terrible.”
In 2018 Markle’s treatment of two royal aides prompted Buckingham Palace to investigate the then-princess for “bullying behavior.” Though the results of the inquiry were never released, Markle denounced the effort as a “calculated smear campaign.” But some of the couple’s stateside staff-members also reserve special bile for Markle, whose reported penchant for noisy tantrums and angry 5 a.m. emails has earned her the in-house moniker ‘Duchess Difficult.’ “She’s absolutely relentless,” says one source. “She marches around like a dictator in high heels, fuming and barking orders. I’ve watched her reduce grown men to tears.”
Their unsparing portrait of her is in marked contrast with the kinder, gentler image Markle has been painting of herself. In recent years the former princess has become an ardent admirer of best-selling Texas self-help author Brené Brown, who urges readers to cultivate gratitude and joy in their lives. While touring Colombia with her husband last month, Markle said her new attitude of gratitude had lead her to a “chapter of joy.” “If you’re going to be grateful for your life, you have to be grateful for all aspects of it,” she said.
And in a recent episode of her Archetypes podcast, Meghan spoke about the challenges she has faced asserting herself and overcoming her natural reticence in professional situations. “I find myself cowering and tiptoeing into a room and – the thing I find most embarrassing – when you’re saying a sentence and the intonation goes up, like it’s a question. And you’re like, ‘Oh my God, stop stop like whispering and tiptoeing around it. Just say what it is that you need. You’re allowed to set a boundary. You’re allowed to be clear, it doesn’t make you demanding. It doesn’t make you difficult, it makes you clear.'”
Harry and Meghan’s current spokesperson declined to comment.

Arch, elegant and deliciously devilish: Tatler's October cover hails the Rupert Everett renaissance
There’s no one who can make the term ‘darling’ as endearing (or believable) as Rupert Everett. With a flourish and a sweeping hand gesture, he slinks into the banquette table at Noble Rot in Lamb’s Conduit Street, exclaiming: ‘Darling, you’re early. I thought someone had taken our table.’ He speaks at such a rapid pace, in the type of voice that hints at being overwhelmed, riding the wave of promoting a raft of new projects. ‘I think the headline of this piece should be Rupert Everett pronouns: He, She, Bitch,’ he says, in his droll way.
For sure, there’s a palpable buzz around Rupert right now: that glow, that allure of an incandescent energy when a multitude of things are happening in someone’s life. A buzz as reverberant as that which surrounded him when he first embraced stardom, shining sensationally in Another Country (1984), the OG public schoolboy story, exquisitely melancholic and beautifully shot against a backdrop of stately porticos, courtyards and Eton-esque cricket fields. The buzz that accompanied the matinee-idol looks that seduced everyone, men and women, including Bianca Jagger, Susan Sarandon and the late Paula Yates. The accolades showered on his memoirs. The awards garlanding films like My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Happy Prince and An Ideal Husband. The feeling that now, at 65, Rupert is having another moment in the sun; that now is Rupert’s latest renaissance.
There’s the imminent release of his new book, The American No, a series of short stories of fabulous plots that never ended up being made into films. ‘The whole writing process normally overwhelms me, but as each story is so short, it’s like being in an AA meeting, just focusing on one story at a time,’ he says in a mock American drawl. As it is, his hysterical, fantastical prose is as seductive as his conversation, an electric mix of tales about Hare Krishnas in Soho, an acid trip before a friend’s mother’s memorial service where they end up following the wrong hearse, and a powerful vignette on Oscar Wilde, a subject very dear to his heart. ‘As a writer, you can tell your version of events. In a sense, I’ve always behaved like an actor when I write, thinking how I would attack this character. It’s a skill being able to paint a picture that comes off a page.’

When I was 15 yrs old….
A boy followed me into the restroom one morning. I thought nothing of it. He cornered me and then he pulled out a knife and stuck it at my chest. He said.” I want that jacket and I want it now. I said, get that fucking knife away from me before I turn it around and put it in your eyeball. He was stunned. He said who the fuck are you? Said who the fuck are you right back at him. Then I shoved him back. Hard. He flew about 6 feet and landed on his ass with the knife still in his hand. He got up, called me a fucking bitch and ran out of the bathroom. I just stood there in the mirror, wondering what was happening looking back I don’t blame him. He was desperate and he just wanted my coat. And mine was the coolest jacket in the school.

I have not sucked a cock since the summer of 2021. That is three full years and the guy was not even attractive really. He shoved it in my face and I obliged. Since then every so often I have had sex with some really good looking guys yet I have made no attempts to suck their cocks though I must admit my favorite sexual activity is getting sucked.
If I were to decided to suck a cock it must be circumcised ( I am generally not into anteaters) and have a full forest of pubic hair above.

Did they not know I would be OUTRAGED? I joined last year's Million Mom March for Moist Muffins!!! They CLAIM it's fixed, but I know how those Amazon Leftists like to fuck with America's business. I have officially put Whole Foods on my WATCHLIST. This mistake CANNOT happen again!!!
-------
When Lisa Younes visited her local Whole Foods Market in Berkeley, Calif., last month she expected to walk out with a slice of her beloved Berry Chantilly cake: With its lofty layers of almond-scented cake and fluffy mascarpone frosting dotted with fresh mixed berries, it had become her go-to sweet treat for the past year. But there were none available. “I just received the worst news in my entire life,” Ms. Younes declared in a TikTok posted on Sept. 21 from the store’s parking lot. “Whole Foods is discontinuing the Berry Chantilly cake that we all know and love.” She uploaded her reaction — and it quickly drew more than 1.5 million views.
For more than a week, speculation, misinformation and outrage swirled online: Had Whole Foods, owned by Amazon since 2017, eliminated the fresh berries entirely? Would individual slices exist no more? How could the company touch — let alone discontinue, as many surmised — its wildly popular cake, a staple at weddings, birthdays and family celebrations, a cake so renowned it had been trademarked? Chaos reigned on social media, in the news and in the minds of Chantilly cake fanatics.
One theory was that Whole Foods had not discontinued the cake, but changed the recipe to cut costs: “Whole Foods’ Chantilly cake is a victim of shrinkflation,” said Zarinah Williams in a TikTok video. Where there had once been fresh berries in the layers of cream, she observed, only a thin strip of cream and an unfamiliar red jam stood in their place. What was once a slice of cake that occupied most of its clear, hinged takeout container had seemingly dwindled to half its size, with loose berries rattling around in the remaining space.
In an email statement to The New York Times on Sept. 26, Nathan Cimbala, a Whole Foods Market spokesman, said the company had “aligned the flavor profile, size, packaging and price” to standardize the cake slices sold in stores. The reasoning, according to the statement, was that customers would “have the same high-quality experience” no matter which store their cake slices came from. Whole Foods’ cult cake dates back to 2002, when Chaya Conrad, then the bakery team leader of a Whole Foods in New Orleans, created the Berry Chantilly cake. Inspired by a cream cheese frosting her grandmother would make, Ms. Conrad layered a delicate yellow cake with berries and whipped up a cream frosting enriched with mascarpone and cream cheese.

There are five Ripley novels and some have been made into movies with actors of different ages.
Andrew Scott is 47, which pushes some viewers' panties into a moist, acrid bunch.
Matt Damon was 29 and Alain Delon was about 25.
Moving on...
How are you enjoying this series?

Republican former Rep. Liz Cheney will campaign with Vice President Kamala Harris in Wisconsin on Thursday, touting her endorsement of the Democratic presidential nominee in the crucial battleground state, a senior campaign official told CNN.
At the Thursday campaign event in Ripon – home to a schoolhouse known as the birthplace of the Republican Party – Harris will make a direct appeal to Republican and independent voters, according to the campaign official. She is expected to note the historical significance of Ripon and promise them that she will uphold the rule of law and the Constitution, even if they disagree with her on policy issues.

I always liked part 2, but most people hate this one but love the original and the third, with some even saying they watch the first and then skip the second to watch the third. Why?
I always liked it and never got the hate. I always hated Grady’s death and still do. He was an ass at first but later showed he was a good guy and he was hot as fuck. Freddy could have at least spared him for being a hottie.

When an artist sells their catalogue of music do they sometimes include stipulations as to its use. I imagine many influential artists will still want some say in how their music is to be used especially in the political realm. Anyone have any insight about this?

While I do understand their reasoning for keeping them separate, it was still so sad to me that they did that. After all this they don’t even have each other in the end? They were already gonna be locked up for life, feels kinda fucked up to keep them apart for what was supposed to be for good but turned out to be for 20+ years.
This series was well done. The criticisms seem ridiculous.

But when the Electors get together on December 15th suppose some of them refuse to support that outcome. Are the electors bound by the vote totals in their states or can they do whatever they want and vote for Trump?.

I've been home sick and on the couch watching a bunch of old Siskel & Ebert shows. For some reason, I feel like every third movie starred Julie Andrews and so I've seen a LOT of clips with her, and I've come to the conclusion that she's actually a really terrible actress. She gives the same uptight performance with the same pinched voice in every movie.

They named “POSE” the greatest and “Monster” the worst.
“ Even Murphy’s best work before “Pose” doesn’t even come close to it. Co-created with Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals, this three-season series explores New York City ball culture through the lens of a majestic range of queer, trans, and nonwhite characters. With showstopping performances from Billy Porter, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Angelica Ross, Dominique Jackson, and more, the series earned a historical Emmy win for Porter and nomination for Rodriguez. “Pose” is a letter of love (and sometimes loss) among found families in ostracized communities, as well as a show that delights showmanship and spectacle. You can feel the creators’ love not only for every character and the world they inhabit, but for the art of creation and performance, and a gratitude for how art saves and heals its practitioners. Good luck getting through a season — nay, an episode — without shedding a tear or applauding a performance.”

Jon Stewart went on Conan O’Brien’s podcast and talked about how tech-giant streamers like Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video are “changing the ethos” of Hollywood and turning it from an “analog business to a digital business.”
“There was this legacy business, and you’re seeing it change now as Silicon Valley comes in,” Stewart said. “The ethos of legacy entertainment is: we’ve created this incredibly eccentric business, where you need an agent and a manager and a lawyer, and they’re going to take about 60% of what you make, but without them there’s nothing you can do!
And you join the studio, and the studio will give you a deal, and you’ll sit in your room. It’s the most inefficient way. Silicon Valley walked in like in the way Elon Musk walked into Twitter and went, ‘How many people work here? 10,000? Make it two.'”
Stewart said that companies like Apple and Amazon have disrupted the legacy system by entering writers’ rooms and cleaning house. Stewart imitated a Silicon Valley streamer coming into a writers’ room of 14 and cutting it down to four — “and it’s got to be on Zoom,” he quipped.
“They’re changing the ethos into this… they’re changing us from an analog business to a digital business,” Stewart added. “And I think that’s the schism, the earthquake that’s been going through [Hollywood]. I can’t function like that.”
O’Brien remarked on the fact that many writers in Hollywood — both veterans and newcomers — are having trouble finding work.
Stewart concurred: “These companies don’t believe in institutional knowledge that allows people to grow and get better and create more. What they believe now is the auteur system, which has always existed within film and TV, and then this idea of ruthlessly efficient content factories, where what matters is the real estate and not the individual creative.”
Added O’Brien, “I think the problem, if I had to guess, would be that you can’t explain what happens in a writers’ room to anybody who hasn’t been in one.”
One of the victories for writers as a result of the 148-day WGA strike in 2023 is minimum staffing requirements designed to curb the rise of “mini-rooms.” Staffing for writers’ rooms is now determined by the length of a show’s season (with exceptions for series like “The White Lotus,” for which a single person writes every episode).
By securing these requirements, the writers aim to preserve the pipeline for junior staffers to gain experience on shows and rise through the ranks to eventually become showrunners.
Stewart, who is currently back on Comedy Central as one of the hosts of “The Daily Show,” has experience with streamers like Apple TV+, which aired his last series, “The Problem With Jon Stewart.” Apple canceled the show after two seasons as Stewart detailed disagreements between himself and the streamer.
Stewart said Apple didn’t want him talking about the perils of AI on the show, and did not want him to interview the chair of the Federal Trade Commission, Lina Khan, whom Stewart later had as a guest on “The Daily Show.”

I agree. It has always been my favorite. I remember all the controversy surrounding it when it came out. That’s what led WB to fire Burton from the third film and hire Joel Schumacher.
“ Controversial with fans at the time of its release as a weird, fairy tale vision of the Batman mythos, Tim Burton’s ‘Batman Returns’ still feels as fresh and surprising 30 years later as it did when it first hit theaters. While the original ‘Batman’ film was a mostly true-to-the-text take on the character, ‘Batman Returns’ feels like a distorted, feverish vision of Gotham, as a pit of corruption cloaked in snow. While Danny DeVito is a hoot as a grotesque Penguin, the heart of the film lies in Michelle Pfeiffer’s definitive Catwoman, an ordinary citizen turned seductive and damaged creature of the night. The love affair between her and Michael Keaton’s even more adrift and lonely Bruce Wayne makes for the only truly sexy superhero film ever made, an indelibly twisted star-crossed romance with a downcast ending you’d never find in a more traditional blockbuster. If all of that makes ‘Returns’ sound like too much of a departure from Batman to be the greatest Batman film, what makes it really sing is how it zeroes in on the core tragedy and sadness of the character, his inability to find true peace and healing. A story of lost souls in a damaged society, ‘Batman Returns’ isn’t just the weirdest Batman film, it’s still the best. ”

Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop, and Edward Herrmann are the titular Gilmores.

Campy at times, heart wrenching at times, and a hoot most of the times, Gilmore Girls rightfully should be discussed on DL.

The only thing she has revealed is that he is gay/bisexual over the years and she stopped doing that as they had become chummy in recent years including aright before her mental health decline. He appeared on the show as you can see in this clip. I don’t like liars. I suspect she didn’t even release her recent comments because she is probably is no mental state to do so. There is nothing wrong with being gay but to create this false narrative like she cared about sexual assault victims is insulting.

Kate Beckinsale is embroiled in a messy battle with a trauma “healer” who claims she stiffed him on a nearly $3,000 bill — but the actress says she’s not paying because he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
In August, Nick Abramovic of the Bionic Method was contacted by the “Serendipity” star’s assistant, and they discussed scheduling three sessions that would take place during a two-week period for $2,700 total.
The sessions consist of an “intense” and “emotional” massage similar to those done during Reiki therapy, in which the healer uses psychosomatic practices to heal parts of the body that are in pain.
Abramovic claims that after the session he believed Beckinsale was pleased with his services, as she gushed over his healing methods and returned a second time.
A text message Page Six reviewed shows the star’s assistant purportedly writing via text prior to Aug. 4 that Beckinsale “really enjoyed the session.”
Abramovic claims the actress also told him herself, “‘You’re like Harry Potter. I would really like to promote you on my Instagram. I think we could do a party at my house instead of me having to come here and you could meet all my friends.’”
The healer, who claims he has not received payment from the “Jolt” star for the sessions, says he didn’t realize she was “expecting free s–t” in return for her recommendations.

The UK finally agreed to hand over the rule to Mauritius (the Brits controversially decided to keep these islands for themselves after granting Mauritius independence in 1968 ). The islands are home to the infamous US/UK Diego Garcia Military base, established in the 70s after the local population was forcibly deported from the island. The International Court of Justice in The Hague already ruled that separating Chagos from the rest of Mauritius was unlawful back in 2019.

The 28-year-old is expecting her first baby with her husband Evan McClintock
----
Eminem is going to be a grandpa!
On Thursday, Oct. 3, the rapper, 51, released a touching music video for his song "Temporary," which features dozens of old home videos of his daughter Hailie Jade Scott, 28. Towards the end of the video, the proud dad shared a video of Hailie Jade revealing to him that she's expecting her first baby with her husband, Evan McClintock.
The influencer and podcaster hands her dad a blue football jersey that read "Grandpa" and the number 1, as well as a sonogram image. Eminem's jaw drops and eyes widen as he tears up at the happy news.
A rep for Eminem did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Colton Underwood and Jordan C. Brown are going to be parents!
The former Bachelor star, 32, announced he is expecting his first baby via surrogate with his husband, political and philanthropic strategist Jordan C. Brown, 38, in an interview with Men's Health. The couple is set to welcome a baby boy in early October.
Underwood tells PEOPLE that he and Brown, who just celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 13, can’t wait to be fathers.
“That was one of the things we bonded over early in our relationship. We both wanted to be dads,” says Underwood. “But it's been such an incredible experience for us to go through this together, and I cannot wait to watch Jordan become a dad.”
In February, Underwood opened up about his path to fatherhood to PEOPLE, sharing that he was chronicling his journey to become a parent on a new podcast, Daddyhood. At the time, Underwood shared that he and Brown had embryos made and frozen and were currently undergoing testing with their surrogate, whose identity they are keeping private.
“I think outside of the LGBTQ+ matters — the obvious discrimination and what's at stake for us — straight couples too, need to stop putting the blame on the women. I think that's one thing that I could at least say, from two men going through this, is I've had some fertility issues and struggles, and I don't think a lot of men openly talk about that," Underwood shared.
“I mean right away, my husband gets his results back for his sperm count and he had incredible, great numbers, and I got mine back and all my sperm was dead. And I think immediately I was just like, 'Oh, what does this mean? It means I'm sterile and can't have kids now.' And it was not a great feeling," he added.
The couple first began their in vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy journey two years ago, right around the time they also started to plan their wedding.

I just finished this. His earlier and very funny recent book about Princess Margaret, "Ma'am Darling," is a Datalounge favorite, and I think this one about Elizabeth II will be too. Brown is a very funny satirist who wrote for Private Eye fro years, and he's obsessed with the Royal Family, and very funny on the subject.
The book is in some ways a very loose biography of her (and there's a fascinating timetable in it of what happened with the royal family on her last day of life), but it's best parts are about how crazy people tended to behave when she was around. Even people who confesses to be republicans tended to treat her with deference when they got to actually meet her, and those who professed top respect her usually made fools of themselves around her because they just more or less lost control of themselves.
Brown very clearly admires her, but he also seems to have no illusions that there was anything much interesting about her other than her incredible self-command. he also devotes a fascinating chapter to when she decided her horse -racing trainer Major Dick Hern was unfit for his job after he had a series of extremely serious health setbacks and treated him (through her flunkies) with surprising ruthlessness. As Brown points out, almost none of her other biographies talk about this incident since it puts the queen in such an unflattering light, even though it was the talk of the horse-racing world at the time. Brown thinks it shows how fallible we all can be to the worst side of our natures.
One thing that's interesting is how many surprising details he found about how others in the royal family saw the Queen from Prince Harry's memoir "Spare." Brown is (unsurprisingly, of course) that despite the level of detail in it, "Spare" is clearly ghost-written (and not just written with the aid of its co-author) because nothing in it sounds the least like Harry's actual voice.

You’re lucky if you can afford a home in southern California at the moment, but the wealthy out do us all. Breathtaking vistas and mansions aren’t enough, they’ve got to have extraordinary basements as well.
Coined “iceberg homes” to indicate that a significant portion of living space is underground and hidden beneath the surface, these amenity-filled subterranean levels include wine cellars, home theaters, luxury gyms, and whatever else you can think of—including separate spaces for romance and intimacy. Some people even add in natural lightwells and skylights to flood the iceberg with California sunshine.
These homes were also a thing in London for years, too, among the city’s elite who couldn’t build up or out. Then, roughly five years ago, San Francisco Magazine published a story on iceberg homes. The author wrote: “In Palo Alto, as in many other affluent yet zoning-constrained enclaves around the Bay Area, homeowners are going underground…the once-lowly basement has become the hottest area in home design, resulting in a flotilla of square-footage-concealing iceberg houses.”
In Los Angeles, no one calls them icebergs. And they aren’t always called finished basements either, even if that’s basically what they are. Calling it a basement, “that’s considered kind of lowbrow,” Ernie Carswell, a luxury real estate agent based in Beverly Hills, said. “We call it the lower level.” The Wall Street Journal once labeled them McBasements, but the jury’s still out on whether the SoCal upper echelon will go for it.
Carswell could be onto something because these luxe underground configurations don’t give off damp basement vibes, they’re much cooler and exemplary of Los Angeles opulence. Some house billiard rooms and wine caves, some have bowling alleys and movie theaters, some have gyms and saunas, some have bars, some have bedrooms if there are lightwells, and some are straight out of a “James Bond movie,” as Carswell put it. In all posh neighborhoods where multimillion dollar homes line the streets, “it’s luxurious to have a bunker,” Carswell said. Maybe they’re taking a page out of the Silicon Valley billionaire playbook.
It’s hard to say how much it costs to build a lavish basement, or whatever you want to call it, but it can be more than $1 million. Loosely speaking, if you were to build a 2,000 square foot lower level, it could come out to about $1.5 million, said Andrew Vaitkevicius, sales and acquisitions manager for Arzuman Brothers, a luxury homebuilder. Or they could cost even more, maybe a double-digit million figure, according to Chris Pozil, a senior project manager for McClean Design, a contemporary residential design firm. It's because of how much work goes into them—the foundation, the finishing.
Vaitkevicius called the basements an almost “second house,” and they’re prevalent in neighborhoods such as Bel Air, Beverly Hills, the Sunset Strip, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, and Toluca Lake. Arzuman Brothers is building about 20 homes in Los Angeles at the moment, and about half will have basements that are fully fledged living spaces, he said. And in those neighborhoods, it makes sense because the sky’s the limit for how much you can sell for, more or less.

And I am talking already way before this stupid woke trend of fucking mtf, doing bi and straight porn even when you claim to be gay etc. Like in 2010-2018 period majority of guys in porn describe themselves as bi which should be quite obvious because enjoyed gay sex way to much to act[like anyone would expect porn "actors" can actually act plus since sexuality is pretty much a spectrum most of those guys will fall somewhere between 2 and 4 on Kinsey Scale.
What I find iritating that we assume that every masculine guy we see in porn must be [literally] straight(hahah) or at best bi just because he is masc behaving and looking [just your typical muscular ripped WHITE midwest trashy tattoed guy]. Like doesn't that show self-loathing of some [older gays] like all gay men must be by definition feminine or/and ugly?

A man is on trial accused of repeatedly drugging and raping his wife, as well as encouraging dozens of other men to rape her in their home while she was unconscious, court documents show.
72-year-old Gisèle appeared in a courtroom in Avignon, France, on Monday for the opening of the trial, sunglasses on, her daughter and two sons by her side.
For the next four months, she will come face to face with her accused abusers, most of whom are complete strangers to her.
Prosecutors say the defendant, 71-year-old Dominique would recruit men online to rape his wife, after drugging her with sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication.
He faces nine charges including several counts of rape with aggravating circumstances, the drugging of a victim to commit rape, and the sharing of images related to those assaults.
Prosecutors were able to put together a case because Dominique documented a number of the alleged assaults on camera.
Held in pre-trial detention since 2020, courtroom sketches show the defendant entered the courtroom in a black t-shirt and sat facing his wife.
“He recognizes that he’s done what he has done,” his lawyer, Béatrice Zavarro told journalists in court on Monday. “There was not an ounce of contestation during the whole investigation.”
In the dock, the men accused of taking part in these rapes sat with their heads down.
Police have identified at least 92 sexual assaults committed by 72 men, with ages ranging from 26 to 74, court documents show.
Fifty were identified, and most have been charged with either aggravated or attempted rape and are standing trial alongside Gisèle’s husband.
The ordeal lasted almost ten years, the first alleged assaults dating back to 2011.
The crimes came to light in 2020 when Dominique was caught filming under women’s skirts in a shopping center.
After police seized his phone and computer, they say they found evidence of the rapes. An investigation was opened and the wife was made aware of the abuse she had endured for almost ten years.

I have been living in US for 30 years and I remember that the word queer was never used in the gay community in the 90’s. Then around 2015 or so I have seen this word increasingly being used to refer to gays. When I asked its meaning I was told it was a very offensive word. What is the real agenda and purpose behind this word to describe gay men now?

Gracie Gold has a new memoir coming out called, wait for it, “Outofshapeworthlessloser” and in it she writes that she was raped at 21 by a fellow skater in a hotel suite where she and her sister held an event after-party. Five years after her alleged assault was reported to the U.S. Center for Safesport, she has no idea about the status of her complaint. She hasn't heard from the center in three years. 1. The selfishness. I wish we wanted to look out for each other, in the form of universal healthcare, fair wages, etc. Or voluntarily wearing masks during a pandemic without babbling about “muh freedoms.”
2. The over-regulation and the criminalization and over-enforcement of every stupid little thing. Shoplifting is a crime. Being in possession of alcohol in a national park shouldn’t be.
3. The prudishness and the hang ups with nudity. Rape and child molestation should be sex crimes worthy of sex offender registration. Public urination and paying for sex shouldn’t be. And nudity at the lake, at the beach, and on TV should be seen as natural as it is in Europe.
4. The guns!

Blake Lively is reportedly anxious about her Hollywood career as she faces backlash from fans following behind-the-scenes drama related to her latest project, "It Ends with Us."
Insiders claim the actress may likely take "a step back" to "reassess her future" as she comes under serious scrutiny over resurfaced interviews.
Blake Lively also garnered the ire of fans for her treatment of the domestic violence subject in her latest film during her press tour.
According to the Daily Mail, sources close to the "Gossip Girl" alum said she's scared for her career as recent controversies threaten to tarnish her image and derail her prospects in the entertainment industry.
The 36-year-old actress has come under scrutiny in recent weeks for her alleged rift with her "It Ends With Us" co-star, Justin Baldoni, and several resurfaced interviews in which she seemingly problematic things.
Lively allegedly believed her role in the movie was going to be "her moment to shine" but is now worried that it may just leave her career hanging in the balance.
"Blake is definitely saddened by the hate she is getting and is trying not to let it affect her, but it is," the source said. "She thought this was her moment to shine but is now looking at it like the end of her career. She's fearing no one will want to work with her after this."
"She really wants to continue producing and directing and acting but she knows she needs to take a step back for a minute to reassess the future," they added.
Fans didn't take it lightly on the "Savages" actress after she hosted an interview with her "It Ends With Us" co-stars Jenny Slate and Isabela Ferrer, as well as author Hoover, yet failed to discuss the theme of attention - domestic violence.
According to the Daily Mail, the four talked and laughed about several topics, including zodiac signs, their dream jobs, and other topics, but they failed to mention anything about domestic violence.
She had previously come under scrutiny for her watered-down answer to a reporter, who asked her if people who understood "the themes of this movie" could talk to her about it if they saw her in person.
"Ask for my address or my phone number," Lively sarcastically replied. "Or I could just share my location with you and then we could."
Netizens were also heavy on her after an X user unearthed a 2012 interview she had with Elle magazine, where she seemingly used an offensive term to comment on her future children's fashion sense at the time.
"sometimes ill [sic] be quietly going about my day and then ill [sic] remember the time Blake lively said this to a journalist," the user captioned their post on X.
The fan then shared an image of Lively's quote, which read: "I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they better be tr-nnies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated."

The drama, which streamed in the spring, contained a big twist in its finale.
Apple TV+ wants another helping of Sugar.
The tech behemoth’s streaming service has picked up a second season of the drama, which stars Colin Farrell as the title character, Detective John Sugar. The first season followed John’s search for a missing woman — and revealed a big twist late in the season that helps set the stage for season two.
“It has been incredibly exciting to see audiences around the world embrace ‘Sugar,’ and we are thrilled to return for a second season,” executive producers Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg said in a statement. “We’re so grateful to our partners at Apple for their support, our showrunner Sam Catlin, the brilliant Colin Farrell, and of course, our viewers. We can’t wait to get John Sugar back on the case.”
Added Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, “Since its premiere, audiences have been gripped by the mysteries and twists of Sugar, with an incredible performance by Colin Farrell at the center. Colin, Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon and the entire team behind this series have brilliantly blended genres to create a compelling, can’t-miss series that keeps viewers guessing, and we cannot wait to see where Detective John Sugar finds himself in season two.”
The show’s first season premiered in April and concluded its eight-episode run on May 17. Season two, Apple says, will bring Sugar back to Los Angeles for another missing-person case while he continues to look for answers about his missing sister. Farrell, who’s also an executive producer of Sugar, has two high-profile series going at the moment. He also stars in The Penguin at HBO, which has drawn big audiences for its first two episodes.
Season one of Sugar also stars Kirby, Amy Ryan, James Cromwell, Anna Gunn, Dennis Boutsikaris, Nate Corddry, Sydney Chandler, and Alex Hernandez. It’s not clear whether any of them will return for season two.
Catlin (Breaking Bad, Preacher) will be the showrunner for season two and executive produce via his Short Drive Entertainment. Chon and Kinberg, who has an overall deal at Apple TV+, exec produce for Genre Films along with Farrell, Scott Greenberg and Chip Vucelich. Mark Protosevich created the series.

I’ve always noticed that when I visit Europe, the black people I see there are on average much better looking than African Americans. That’s not to say that there aren’t beautiful African Americans, of course there are. But as we all know, many African Americans, if not most, have some white ancestry, for obvious reasons. Black people in Europe are typically either African immigrants or children of African immigrants. Since they share the same African ancestry, how can they look so different? Were many of the white slave owners in the south just really ugly and grotesque, and that’s why may African Americans today aren’t as good looking as they would be if their blood line had stayed pure African?

I'm getting exhausted of people's shitty attitudes over my bad hearing. I'm young and don't wear hearing aides because I can't afford a doctor and I'd fight paramedics off to avoid one. I know it's a bunch of geezers here so I'm curious what expereinces others have had with poor hearing. I usually feel too embarrassed to say anything about my hearing and just start apologizing profusely if I can tell someone is annoyed I didn't hear them or respond quickly. When I worked in a restaurant years ago my manager flipped out on me and accused me of faking it because I just wanna be lazy and don't wanna pay attention and threw a couple of paint buckets we stored lettuce in at my head. That was the worst case. I'm upset today because a new hire at a store I've been patronizing several times a week for years started off really hostile with me because she was clearly so annoyed I didn't hear her trying to get my attention for a minute. She was rolling her eyes to the constellations and wrapping her knuckles on the desk, wouldn't look at me and didn't respond when I said I'm so sorry. I'm just sick of this what the fuck can you do to not be treated like shit? Do other hearing challenged DLers have similar experiences?

Badenoch says up to 10% of civil servants 'very, very bad', adding jokingly they're 'should be in prison bad'
During the Q&A at the Spectator Kemi Badenoch was asked if she approved of term limits for civil servants, an idea proposed by Vivek Ramaswamy when he was running to be the Republican candidate for president in the US.
Badenoch replied:
I don’t want people to get me wrong – I think that civil servants are like everybody else. They come in to do a job, and I’d say about 10% of them are absolutely magnificent.
And the trick to being a good minister is to find the good ones quickly, keep them close and try and get the bad ones out of your department.
There’s about 5 to 10% of them who are very, very bad – you know, should be in prison bad – leaking official secrets, undermining their ministers, agitating - I have some of it in my department – usually union led.
But most of them actually want to do a good job. And the good ones are very frustrated by the bad ones.
The audience laughed when Badenoch used the “should be in prison bad” line, so she was not being 100% serious at this point. But she may not have been entirely frivolous either, and the comments are likely to reignite her feud with the civil service.
As Pippa Crerar reported in a Guardian exclusive in July, Badenoch had a difficult relationship with officials in her department when she was business secretary because some of them thought she was a bully. Pippa wrote:
Kemi Badenoch, the frontrunner to be the next Conservative party leader, has been accused of creating an intimidating atmosphere in the government department she used to run, with some colleagues describing it as toxic, the Guardian can reveal. At least three officials found her behaviour so traumatising that they felt they had no other choice but to leave, sources claimed.

DIY home cleaning product videos are all over the instagram. Stock in baking soda and white vinegar must be through the roof. I always save the videos but I have only tried a few. The one that REALLY worked miracles for me was a combination of white vinegar and dish soap in a spray bottle to clean soap scum off of glass shower doors. I just douse the glass doors, let it sit five minutes, then sponge all the built up soap scum away. The glass looks brand new. I go crazy with a squeegee of course, because a squeegee is my jam. I just love how affective this solution is. Do you have one that you swear by?
BTW, I am still looking for something to clean baked-on / caked-on pans. Salt and baking soda ain’t it.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Claudia Sheinbaum was sworn in Tuesday as Mexico’s first female president, riding the enthusiasm over her predecessor’s social programs but also facing challenges that include stubbornly high levels of violence.
After a smiling Sheinbaum took the oath of office on the floor of Congress, legislators shouted “Presidenta! Presidenta!” using the feminine form of president in Spanish for the first time in over 200 years of Mexico’s history as an independent country.
The 62-year-old scientist-turned-politician receives a country with a number of immediate problems, also including a sluggish economy, unfinished building programs, rising debt and the hurricane-battered resort city of Acapulco.
Claudia Sheinbaum took the oath of office Tuesday as Mexico’s first female president in more than 200 years of independence.
In her inauguration speech, Sheinbaum said that she came to power accompanied by all of the women who have struggled in anonymity to make their way in Mexico, including “those who dreamed of the possibility that one day no matter if we were born as women or men we would achieve our dreams and desires without our sex determining our destiny.”
She made a long list of promises to limit prices for gasoline and food, expand cash hand-out programs for women and children, support business investment, housing and passenger rail construction. But any mention of the drug cartels that control much of the country was brief and near the end of the list.
Sheinbaum offered little change from former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s ‘Hugs not Bullets’ strategy of addressing root causes and not confronting the cartels, apart from pledging more intelligence work and investigation. “There will be no return to the irresponsible drug war,” she said.
Sheinbaum romped to victory in June with nearly 60% of the vote, propelled largely by the sustained popularity of her political mentor, López Obrador. She has pledged to continue all his policies, even those that strengthened the power of the military and weakened the country’s checks and balances.
After the inauguration, Sheinbaum appeared at a mass rally in Mexico City’s colonial-era main plaza to participate in a ceremony involving an all-women committee representing Mexico’s approximately 70 Indigenous groups.
Sheinbaum was blessed and brushed with herbs and incense by Ernestina Ortiz, a “spiritual guide,” who told Sheinbaum “You are a voice for all of us who had no voice for a long time.” An Indigenous elder then handed Sheinbaum a wooden Indigenous “staff of authority,” like those carried by community leaders.
After the ceremony, Sheinbaum said she would push for a total ban on any public servant being re-elected to office — a tall promise, given that her party has now passed a law making all judges stand for election. That would suggest Mexico may have a new crop of inexperienced judges every few years.
Lucía Ruíz, a 42-year-old mother of three, was one of thousands trying to reach the main square to see the rally. She said she hopes Sheinbaum will be able to combat high rates of violence against women in the country.
“She is going to represent us,” said Ruíz. “We have always been governed by men, and they think we’re incapable, but we’re not. We are the head of our families.”
López Obrador took office six years ago declaring “For the good of all, first the poor,” and promising historical change from the neoliberal economic policies of his predecessors. Sheinbaum promised continuity from his popular social policies to controversial constitutional reforms to the judiciary and National Guard rammed through during his final days in office.
Despite her pledge of continuity, Sheinbaum is a very different personality: a cautious scientist and ideological university leftist, as opposed to the outgoing president’s chummy, everyman appeal.

Apparently, he was diddling his adoptive granddaughter - she was his adopted daughter's daughter.
They were having an affair which ended his second marriage.
Why is he given a pass?

I’m not sure why her eyes and face look so weird in this video, maybe a filter, but her eyes seem so dark and huge, dilated… she has to be totally high here and keeps rubbing her nose. Is that how she really talks?
Anyway I kinda feel like it’s sad last days watching this, like Aaron Carter’s last stuff.

I have noticed when watching old interviews of people from the past that they were all so well-spoken.
You never hear people speak this way anymore. What happened?
I love the way the young hippies speak in the link below.
