That's what they always say about their ringers. Sorry, but once you have been schooled in the elements of dance, things like posture, extension, line, rhythm, etc. are critical in any form of dance. So, to put her in a " competition" with non-dancers is a fraud.

Carrie Ann just gave it all away. The Contemporary dances that don't really have any rules are scored by different criteria than the Ballroom dances that have actual rules.

It's really not fair to put them against each other, and personally, I don't think Contemporary should even be in this show.

Stephen and Rylee got about as close to depicting a rape attack (ostensibly "fear of the dark") as allowed. It was a brilliant Contemporary, not the least for NOT being the usual mawkish tearfest.

I would challenge Derek and Bruno to point out any flaws.

What's really not fair is to cast ringers - those with significant dance training- up against rank amateurs, under the excuse that the 10 yrs of formal dance training wasn't in ballroom.

It's not fair to cast people in their 20s against people in their 70s, but that's what these shows do. And sometimes the people in their 70s last longer than younger people (like Reginald this season). It's a popularity contest, primarily.

It was time for Dwight to go. He wasn't a good dancer, but it really wasn't fair that they paired this giant with a woman barely over 5 feet tall. Even the best ballroom dancers would've had a difficult time trying to navigate through such a height difference.

They even had Dwight's partner on a platform for half of their dance, and he still towered over her.

I think my sexy gymnast nerd Stephen had his best dance last night, and even incredible hulk IIona seemed lighter on her feet than she has all season.

But I think it's ultimately going to come down to the the Bachelor dude and Chandler Kinney. I think they're the best among all the contestants, although it's really not fair, since Chandler's had prior dance experience.

I want to hate Joey because he seems like such a camera hogging try hard, but damn if he isn't sexy as hell and can actually dance.

These "instant dance" challenges are really cruel and seem designed to get viewers to discard the less favored contestants. I mean, if you're not a professional dancer, how the hell are you gonna perfect a dance routine in 5 minutes?

What's next? Setting contestants on fire and having them get through their routine before the flames penetrate their outfits and starting burning their skin?

A while back they gave Chandler immunity, for some cocked up reason.

I think it's obvious she's tanking with the viewer vote, so I think she would have gone home tonight... except the show can't let that happen because she's extremely better than anybody else.

You could say it's that the audience doesn't like that she has prior dance training - or you could say it has something to do with her and her partner Brandon's ethnicity. I'll leave that for others...

Ah yes, the race card. It's played so often, it's a miracle it hasn't been mentioned before. DWTS is a popularity contest ( witness Bobby Bones) and she is an unknown. Add the facts that she has extensive dance training ( she's the ringer), and the voters being overwhelmingly female ( votes for Danny, Joey, and Steven). and one could see why she doesn;t have as many votes as expected. As for the " ethnicity" thing:

Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, Donald Driver, Amber Riley, Alfonso Ribeiro, Rashad Jennings, Jordan Fisher, Iman Shumpert all won the contest.

I've seen comments on FB and Twitter (I refuse to call it X) that they made the the 5 finalists call because Chandler was actually the one with the lowest votes. Could be, I suppose. I have read that the 2 Olympians have huge fan bases.

I'm just glad the Incredible Hulkesse got through to the finals because her pro partner is so damn cute and I'll get to see him dance at least one more time.

Stephen we all know isn't the best, but he's so darn earnest! And hard-working, the kind of novice the show started out as seeking.

I hope somehow he ends up 3rd, so he can say he won the DWTS Bronze medal, too!

I know one thing: Stephen is a star. Name without Googling another member of his Olympics team.

As a Penn Stater who went to every Men's Gymnastics home meet 1967-1971 (when Bob Emery competed, the great gymnast whose name is now on the sport's highest award for senior gymnasts, which Stephen won), I was shocked to learn that only about a dozen D1 NCAA programs still exist! So I hope Stephen gets tons more opportunities to promote his sport far and wide!

I bought a DWTS Tour ticket long ago for an afternoon show. Now I'm bummed I didn't buy for the evening also, as what's left are all VERY pricey "VIP" tickets.

Clearly Chandler was the best dancer by a mile, but, yes, it was clear that this wasn't her first plie. Her gorgeous slow high developpe to fully straightened leg was not something that can be taught in 6 weeks. I'm not sure what the rules or expectations are for this show. I never watch a full season, but only drop in occasionally. If the goal is to show how much novices can accomplish in several weeks, that should be announced and people should be screened before selection.

Loved Chandler’s face when they announced she was third! There was no improvement from week to week because she has dance experience. If she was competing against others with her background, it might have been a different story.

I used to love Artem, but after his embarrassing expressions of love for Ricky Martin, I switched to Gleb. Too bad he wasn't featured much this season. Joey did make the most progress this season. Danny was adorable -- such a geeky athlete -- and what was going on when he approached Bruno, who was reaching out his hand. Are they making too much of Bruno's expressions of appreciation of (or lust toward) hunky male dancers?

Unfortunately, Danny’s “I’m Just Ken” dance was awful. After seeing that, I was sure he lost.

With another dancer, the "I'm Just Ken" dance might have worked. But Danny was so stiff and not spontaneous that he couldn't pull it off. Still, he has a great build.

I was kinda hoping that Danny would get personalized briefs, like Trevor Donovan had, but maybe that's a touchy subject for DWTS after the Tyra fiasco.

I was expecting more butt from Danny. Much like his dancing skills, it was a bit flat.
