Vance will come across much saner than Trump, but will have an obvious evil aura which will turn off many viewers.

Vance's strategy is to bully Walz to make him seem like a jovial bumpkin. Watch for him to talk over the allotted time and not lose his cool. He will be very aggressive on the key issued of the economy and immigration. His success depends on how much the moderators will put up with and if they will allow him to get away with blatant lies. Walz needs to go into coach mode.

I know government assistance abuse/fraud exists. . They both did well but Walz got in the most quotable zingers.

JD will say anything. That much is clear. If Trump loses, I don’t see him getting far in the Republican Party. He will support Dem positions to win a debate point. Then swing back to far-far right positions the next day to win the Fox News audience. He’s said a lot of words. I still don’t have any idea what he actually believes.

I only caught the last half hour or so of the debate. Did Walz at any point mention Vance's statement that he's perfectly willing to make up stories (like the immigrants eating pets thing) in order to get press coverage? Because, to me, that's the sort of outrageous statement that in and of itself should lose the election for these Rethuglicans.

I think on substance Vance lost, but on presentation he won. Confident, not crazy, at ease.
