This bitch again!
Ellen is part of a long and growing list of obscenely wealthy, famous people who've seen their shadows and, intentionally or not, abandoned their principles and committed terrible acts.
In the 1980s and 1990s when her career was on the rise, and the fight for LGB equality was intensifying due to the AIDS epidemic, Ellen was a great public role model for the gay community. She was funny in an often self-deprecating way. She seemed pretty genuine. She was likable. She came out both publicly and as her character on her sitcom, which she ended up losing and paying a heavy personal price for doing so.
When she got her comeback opportunity via the talk show, she shot to superstardom and crazy wealth. She may not realize it -- and she may disagree with this now -- but her peer group is no longer the LGBT+ community. It's now other obscenely rich and/or famous people. To wit: Her palling around with George W. Bush, hater of gay people. Additionally, her defense of Kevin Hart, another hater of gay people, when he lost his Oscars hosting gig due to prior homophobic remarks.
Also on this aforementioned list: P. Diddy, Elon Musk, Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Bill Cosby, among others. Important to note, these men are all scumbags and most of them have been accused or convicted of abusive crimes. Ellen hasn't been charged with any crimes. But did her sense of invincibility lead her to unleash her meanness and foster an abusive, toxic work environment. I absolutely believe it did. There have just been too many stories to ignore.

Three cheers for her former employee.
I liked Ellen way back when. She's detestable now. #freeportia
