This is why most people don’t want to live to be 100.
Who thought it was a good idea to wheel Jimmy Carter out like this?
by Anonymous | reply 73 | October 6, 2024 1:49 AM |
Well, you are not jimmy.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 4, 2024 11:20 PM |
It is grotesque and disrepectful.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 4, 2024 11:21 PM |
I hate the cracker.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 4, 2024 11:21 PM |
How many times do you have to post this over and over
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 4, 2024 11:24 PM |
So young.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 4, 2024 11:27 PM |
Still thinks clearer than Trump
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 4, 2024 11:29 PM |
R3 Well, Amy, Ella Emhoff is about to claim the title of "Ugliest First Daughter" from you, so I guess I'd be sassy, too, if I were in your position.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 4, 2024 11:31 PM |
It’s incredibly disrespectful. Where’s his family?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 4, 2024 11:32 PM |
No offense to the former President, but when Jimmy does go, we now know what that will look like.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 4, 2024 11:34 PM |
His look is good, but the clothes are all wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 4, 2024 11:36 PM |
I found it sad and disturbing.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 4, 2024 11:36 PM |
It’s like there’s no one there advocating for him. How did the guy even vote? A witness voted on his behalf?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 4, 2024 11:38 PM |
[Quote] Ella Emhoff is about to claim the title of "Ugliest First Daughter" from you,

by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 4, 2024 11:46 PM |
Horrifying.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 4, 2024 11:54 PM |
My father looked the same - right after he died.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 4, 2024 11:57 PM |
Stunning and brave!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 5, 2024 12:22 AM |
There are those famous teeth!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 5, 2024 12:39 AM |
I hope he managed to blow out all of the candles, got his birthday whacks and a pinch for every inch!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 5, 2024 12:41 AM |
Let him rest in peace. They decided to wheel out this mummy.
Although Biden is not in much better shape mentally. In fact I bet Jimmy Carter has more of his marbles at this point than Biden.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 5, 2024 12:51 AM |
If my family did this to me, I'd make sure to haunt them from the other side no later than the next business day.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 5, 2024 12:52 AM |
100 YEAR OLD MAN LOOKS OLD AS FUCK, FILM AT 11.
You need not worry about being 100 years old, infirm and reliable on full-time care. For several reasons, none good.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 5, 2024 1:52 AM |
That shouldn’t have been done. Who thought that was a good idea? He should be given privacy and peace.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 5, 2024 1:53 AM |
Jimmy crack corn!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 5, 2024 1:54 AM |
They should have at least had the decency to reheat him beforehand.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 5, 2024 1:56 AM |
So uh, he’s supposed to vote, huh. Yeahhhhh.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 5, 2024 2:06 AM |
Article touching on his health as of June this year. He spents most of his time asleep.

I’ve always said I’d love to live to 100 and then I see this.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 5, 2024 5:39 AM |
He looked 100 when he was 80!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 5, 2024 5:45 AM |
Geez. Almost a level of elder abuse. Nobody wants to be seen like that.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 5, 2024 6:57 AM |
Weekend at Jimmy’s!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 5, 2024 7:04 AM |
It's very intrusive and disrespectful. No photos should have been allowed out of respect for his privacy.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 5, 2024 8:28 AM |
Might I remind everybody that President Carter has been in hospice care for over two years now? The vast majority of people entering hospice care die with weeks to months.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 5, 2024 9:03 AM |
Someone should tie a scarf under his jaw over the top of his head to keep his mouth closed. Maybe put some pennies on his eyelids too.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 5, 2024 9:35 AM |
he was actually singing an old negro spiritual.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 5, 2024 9:46 AM |
Count me in the camp that thinks it is distasteful. Aging and death are a fact of life, and I get that. The photo reminds me of when my father was actively dying and in death. He was a very proud man and never would have wanted anyone but his loved ones seeing him in that state.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 5, 2024 9:55 AM |
It's distasteful to me. But I wonder if old Jimmy is senile or not. Isn't it possible he is not senile, and he still says what he wants and does not want to do? I mean, the days that he is awake. It's terrifying of course. The old patriarch, a US president, sleeping in his wing of the house, but not dying. And still with his wits about him, but little control of his body.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 5, 2024 10:11 AM |
[quote]Maybe put some pennies on his eyelids too.
That's after he dies R36.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 5, 2024 10:15 AM |
[quote] Let him rest in peace
He’s in hospice. That means they are not taking steps to prolong his life. If he wanted to die, he probably would have.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 5, 2024 1:10 PM |
I don't understand. We are all heading in that direction. The difference is most of us will not be able to afford to have someone trustworthy to care for us when we are infirm and vulnerable.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 5, 2024 1:47 PM |
R17 Trump being wheeled into Hair & Makeup
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 5, 2024 1:54 PM |
He's in South Ga. What will they do if a bug flies into his mouth. And trust me, the hurricane has blown in flying insects like we've never seen before.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 5, 2024 2:05 PM |
They don't do anything with him unless he wants it. And he wanted it, being conscious and alert enough to make his intentions known.
It is not disrespectful, in this case. It would be disrespectful for anyone to suggest to him that he doesn't look good or well enough to be in public. That is his choice.
People here are ageist and prissy.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 5, 2024 2:15 PM |
If he wasn’t awake every day in June, it seems unlikely he’d be proactively expressing the desire to be wheeled out for his birthday now.
Do they feed you with a tube or intravenously in hospice?
How is he still alive?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 5, 2024 2:17 PM |
That is so disrespectful. The poor man would never want to be seen like that. The news media has some questions to answer over this.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 5, 2024 2:17 PM |
I did a cursory google search and couldn’t find any news with this photo or similar. Maybe they wheel him out on the regular to get some sun? Plains, GA has less than 600 people. Half of them probably know him. Maybe this was meant to be something local. Getting him get outside and acknowledging his bday with people who know and care for him is different than a photo op for a national audience.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 5, 2024 2:32 PM |
Looks like you could face fuck him without even waking him up.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 5, 2024 2:34 PM |
People at that age fall asleep all the time, sometimes mid-sentence, and their entire face goes slack. He may have wanted to get some sun, greet a few neighbours, and fell asleep during the photo moment.
However… They could have woken him up? Or not take any pictures until he’s a awake for another few minutes?
by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 5, 2024 2:40 PM |
Well time was limited. He was wheeled out for a fly over in his honor. I can only imagine the grotesque things Dr. Jill will be wheeling Joe out to.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 5, 2024 2:43 PM |
I can’t look at that picture, OP. It’s very painful for me.
It makes me think of how frail my mom became at the end of her life, and she was 88 when she died.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 5, 2024 2:50 PM |
"May you live long" isn't always a blessing, is it. Poor Jimmy.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | October 5, 2024 2:55 PM |
I always wonder about people that hang on this long. And considering he's in hospice, he IS indeed "hanging on."
What are these people doing? What are they afraid of?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 5, 2024 3:28 PM |
I just hope he is able to fulfill his wish to vote for Kamalla.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 5, 2024 3:43 PM |
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE SHIT IN MY MOUTH????!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 56 | October 5, 2024 4:01 PM |
[quote]Maybe they wheel him out on the regular to get some sun?
Well, that's what the damn back yard is for. But you don't put him out front. He could have caused an accident.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | October 5, 2024 4:19 PM |
R54 to answer your last question:
Death.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | October 5, 2024 4:58 PM |
[quote]He’s in hospice. That means they are not taking steps to prolong his life. If he wanted to die, he probably would have.
He’s holding out to see Kamala win. He’ll probably die shortly after the election.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | October 5, 2024 5:22 PM |
Nancy was protective of her husband’s image and would never allow such an image to be published. I know Rosalynn is dead, but someone in the Carter family should have that level of concern.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | October 5, 2024 9:03 PM |
[quote]My father looked the same - right after he died.
I was thinking that too - that looked like my mom after she did. I guess I don't know if I'd describe it as disrespectful, but I think I'd like to be remember as the way I was (not much of a looker, but at least upright and mostly coherent) not whatever sad end faces us.

Don’t they keep people in hospice in doors?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | October 5, 2024 9:10 PM |
This is the Queen Mother at 100.... you roll 'em out for the cameras if they are upright and compos mentis. Poor Jimmy Carter ooks desiccated and half dead. What is the family thinking? It's a horrible display.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | October 5, 2024 10:46 PM |
[quote]Amy was a regular kid.
She was. Her mom and dad let her her colour in her colouring book at the table during one of the State Dinners.
Reporter: Do you have a message for the children of America?
Amy Carter: No.
😁👍👍
by Anonymous | reply 65 | October 5, 2024 11:17 PM |
Oh, R55, please stop with this poppycock that he’s holding on to vote for Kamala.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | October 5, 2024 11:23 PM |
The DL prisspot brigade has spoken. Cut him som slack, he's 100 FFS!

I would take the word “celebrating “ with a grain of salt.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 6, 2024 12:27 AM |
r70, you do you, but I'm celebrating with a slice of birthday cake.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | October 6, 2024 1:03 AM |
You have to hand it to the Queen. At the time of her death, she was only four years younger than Jimmy is now, yet she looked like Miss Teen Great Britain by comparison.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | October 6, 2024 1:26 AM |
Going from 96 to 100 is still a big jump. Most who make it to 96 don't make it to 100.
