I doubt you will see any man-on-man sex. You will see the actor playing Hernandez with expressions of rage/lust/shame/confusion as he looks at whatever man is the object of his attention. You'll probably see him sitting on a bed while another man peels his shirt off as the bedroom door closes. You might see him kiss another man or push a man down simulating a blow job. That's about it.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 17, 2024 8:11 PM |
"It’s overtly sexual in a way that defines Hernandez’s life as a womanizer on the outside and a depressed, self-hating homophobe on the inside."
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 17, 2024 8:15 PM |
A football player who's a womanizer on the outside and a self-hating gay on the inside?
Sorry, not buying it. Zero stars!

Airing tonight
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 17, 2024 11:14 PM |
This story has been told a lot ever since he died but I’ll still be tuning in.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 18, 2024 12:34 AM |
The review suggests that it portrays his dysfunction as rooted in his (queer) sexuality rather than his childhood trauma or his CTE, which was confirmed to have been far more advanced than thought possible in a player of his age. I don't need to watch a series that conflates sociopathy with homosexuality, repressed or not.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 18, 2024 1:06 AM |
I'm watching it so far. I like Tammy Blanchard as Hernandez's mom. She's a hoot.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 18, 2024 3:54 AM |
Tammy Blanchard is great
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 18, 2024 4:02 AM |
For those who've watched the first two episodes, are there any nude/sex scenes?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 18, 2024 4:38 AM |
I thought the first two episodes were pretty good.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 18, 2024 5:11 AM |
Any homosex?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 18, 2024 5:16 AM |
There were brief nudity scenes in the second episode of hetero sex and brief scene of Hernandez on a gay hookup site and him meeting up with guy, but he leaves before they go off somewhere.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 18, 2024 5:32 AM |
When's the steamy shower scene between Hernandez and Tim Tebow?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 18, 2024 6:43 AM |
I know a bi guy like this, in the sense that he's a womanizer but self hating gay on the inside

Excellent point, R6, but maybe the series will not conflate sociopathy with homosexuality and instead highlight the effects of anti-gay and homophobic attitudes and abuse as the root cause of that sociopathyHe grew up in a milieu and circumstances rife with those attitudes.

R12: Any Tim Tebow nude scenes?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 18, 2024 2:13 PM |
R16 no. The scenes of Tebow were very short of him on the football field. From the promo for next week's episode, it looks like Tebow will be featured more. Nepo baby Patrick Schwarzenegger's IMDB only lists him for 2 episodes. I know IMDB isn't always accurate.
The show doesn't paint University of Florida or Urban Meyer in the best light.

It was entertaining, but we do need to see more butts.....everybody in the locker room was covered up from waist to knees.....
Please.....more butts please.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 19, 2024 1:32 PM |
Aaron never did the towel dance. He was disappointed when those other cocks, long or fat or stubby or otherwise, were hidden in any way in the sacred open space of the locker room.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 19, 2024 1:36 PM |
Or in the pick up truck according to this series so far.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 19, 2024 2:51 PM |
So far this is okay. Tammy Blanchard is amazing as the mom!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 19, 2024 6:46 PM |
Oh I just watched the second episode again.....I must have fallen asleep.....a couple of skinny white butts and some interesting scenes when Aaron is fucking a girl but really getting off on seeing his team mates fucking girls in the same room.

I know she’s done questionable things (although obviously Aaron did far worse) but I kinda feel bad for Shayanna. I believe Aaron had a preference for men but there did appear to be genuine love between him and Shayanna. In his suicide letter he called her his soulmate. The show is basically just portraying her as a beard.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 19, 2024 10:03 PM |
Either he was genuinely into her or was just really good at faking it.

by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 20, 2024 10:33 PM |
What's your hunch, R38? What saith the Internet sleuths?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 21, 2024 8:28 PM |
R39 I don’t know. Maybe Odin was privy to Aaron’s bisexuality/homosexuality and was going to tell Shayanna’s sister (who he was dating) who in turn would tell Shayanna? So Aaron decided he had to go.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 22, 2024 4:28 AM |
Or maybe Odin threatened to out Aaron unless Aaron helped him make it to the NFL. Odin was a semi professional football player.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 22, 2024 4:30 AM |
I thought Odin knew about Aaron shooting those Cape Verdean guys.

by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 22, 2024 4:42 AM |
I read Jose Baez’s book (I know) and granted he’s biased but he helped me see reasonable doubt in the second murder case Aaron was acquitted of. I could see a scenario where Alexander Bradley shot them too. I definitely think Aaron shot Odin tho.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 22, 2024 4:49 AM |
Aaron acted like he was black whenever he talked to the Pouncey brothers on the phone in jail. Also think it’s interesting he was suspected of shooting/killing mostly black men while also using other black men as accomplices, and he chose a black woman as his public girlfriend. Yet none of his suspected male lovers were black. I wonder if he made a move on Odin? They were said to be pretty close, hanging out in Aaron’s man cave and smoking weed for hours.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | September 22, 2024 4:53 AM |
Yet whenever Aaron talked to Ryan on the phone in jail, he sounded more “white” and soft and romantic with him. He liked to code switch.

How was Ryan Muphy able to nail the casting in Monsters, yet did so poorly with Aaron Hernandez in American Sports Story? Smh. This acting choice is too distracting, like I have to keep reminding myself that that's really Aaron Hernandez.

by Anonymous | reply 68 | September 22, 2024 7:39 PM |
I've watched the first two episodes and it's exactly what I expected. It's not great, but engaging. They show his early gay screwing around with guys (well, a guy), but there's nothing explicit. There's only been two episodes - one showed a high school hook-up where he bails on the guy - but it was clearly implied that he had hooked up with the guy before. And in the second episode, he bails on another hookup while in college. It's presented less as "self-hating" (though he does say "I can't afford to be a faggot" in the second encounter) and more that he's paranoid and very aware of "all eyes on me" since he's a top athlete. I guess the result is the same no matter - if he's THAT paranoid, then there has to be some self hate. And if I'm remembering correctly, they do show him looking at gay porn.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | September 22, 2024 7:45 PM |
His high school boyfriend is so hot. They’re both so fkin hot. Gosh I wish I could have been gay jock in high school lol. And I think we have a star in our hands ladies and gentleman. This lead is going to be huge, mark my words. The Puerto Rican Bobby D.

The Reddit threads, unsurprisingly, are substantively stuck on the gay portrayal, many posts saying it's too much and even claiming a "gay agenda." A few posts claimed that since he dated and fucked women, that wasn't shown enough. I don't know what they're expecting with a sensationalized Ryan Murphy production in light of the fact that Hernandez actually did fuck around with men.

But aside from that, he is delivering a good performance. The show moves pretty quickly, and the other cast members are very good.

I haven’t seen episode 4 yet but it seems like Ryan Murphy is suggesting CTE, self loathing homophobia, and the jealousy around his mother’s boyfriend led him to murder Odin Lloyd.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | October 2, 2024 9:53 AM |
I know it’s Ryan Murphy but the scenes of Aaron constantly hooking up with guys every episode is getting redundant. He had a lot of things going on that are hardly touched upon in comparison.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | October 2, 2024 10:10 AM |
I heard Odin Lloyd is only going to be featured in one episode (in which he gets killed), but considering Aaron was found guilty for his murder, the show should portray their friendship more in depth before things ended tragically. His friendships with Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace (who were convicted of being accomplices to the murder) also haven’t really been portrayed in depth. Nor has his relationship with Shayanna who many people believe disposed of the murder weapon. There should also be a whole episode about his friendship with Alexander Bradley and how it turned sour.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | October 2, 2024 10:16 AM |
R112 Shayanna’s sister was dating Lloyd and according to her they weren’t as close as the media suggests. They were just starting to become friends. I used to think there was a perhaps a secret gay romance between them when all the gay stuff started coming but I don’t think so now. I do however think Lloyd found out about his sexuality.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | October 2, 2024 10:29 AM |
R113 I don’t think they were BFF’s or anything but they did appear to be good friends in the short time they knew each other. Aaron was renting out cars to Odin, they would spend hours hanging out in Aaron’s mancave, they both smoked weed together and they both were football players, etc. Odin could’ve been Aaron’s brother in law one day. I just don’t think one episode is enough to develop their friendship and then show or explain why Aaron suddenly turned against Odin and wanted him dead.

R114 I see I see.

The motive in the second murder case that Daniel and Safiro (the Cape Verdeans who were killed) spilled a drink on Aaron and that’s caused him to kill them an hour later doesn’t make much sense to me. Granted the Odin murder doesn’t make sense either but I can understand it more since people tend to be killed by people they know. In the case of Odin, if he was privy to information about Aaron’s bisexuality/homosexuality, the motive for murder would make sense since Aaron didn’t want that to get out while he was in the NFL. No one at the club witnessed a spilled drink exchange between Aaron and Safiro and Daniel. Alexander Bradley was no angel either and once shot up a club. The silver SUV being hidden at the house of Aaron’s cousin Tanya shows he was involved, but it’s possible Alexander shot them too. I saw security footage at the club from the night of the murders and you can see one of the victims looking at Alexander a few times while they were waiting in line. Maybe those guys already knew him.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | October 2, 2024 12:16 PM |
I also learned that several NFL players helped pay for Aaron’s second trial, which explains how he was able to afford his defense team. Was it the Pouncey brothers? Deonte Thompson showed solidarity to Aaron while leaving the stand. Fred Taylor didn’t initially believe Aaron killed himself because they spoke on the phone a day before. Cam Newton speaks positively about Aaron while still acknowledging that bad stuff happened because of him. Meanwhile everybody went in on Aaron at Tom Brady’s roast and several players from that team don’t seem to have anything positive to say about him.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | October 2, 2024 12:22 PM |
I'm thinking it was the Pouncey brothers and maybe other NFL players who were teammates of Hernandez at U of Florida. He might have a tighter bond with those teammates than he did with teammates on the Patriots.
The Boston Globe released a podcast about Hernandez through Wondery back in 2018. It was called Gladiator. I listened to it when it first came out. Brandon Lloyd who played one season with Hernandez talked about how he was warned early on by Wes Welker about Hernandez's behavior
[quote]“He stops me and, kind of touches me on my shoulders and he’s looking at me wide-eyed in my face and he says, ‘Your locker is in between [Rob] Gronkowski and Hernandez. I just want to warn you that he’s going to talk about being bathed by his mother. He’s going to have his genitalia out in front of you while you’re sitting out on your stool. He’s going to have his towel and try to dry off in front of you while you’re sitting at your locker. He’s going to talk about gay sex. Just do your best to ignore it. Even walk away.’ So, even before I met Aaron on a personal level, that was how I was warned about him prior to getting to my locker,” said Lloyd
This article references some of the other drama that went down with Hernandez and other Pats teammates that was mentioned in the podcast.
I'll probably listen to the podcast again later this week. There are some things I probably forgot about that they covered which might not be covered on the FX show.

The coach is hot.
This series will catch the same flack as Menendez for being too hyperbolic about any gay subtext to the lives and crimes. I say bravo to Ryan Murphy for showing straight America the fucking truth. And more so for this football story with black and latin culture. Most people in those three cultures tried to shut down this gay aspect of the Hernandez saga.
That said I have seen many docs about this story and, well, this is a pretty dark and depressing way to spend ones time, this series.

As I watched this on FX VOD, they pixeled out the cock. I don't know why they would do that if it was seen on the other formats (I wonder if they pixeled it out on the network run? ).

In the first trial it came out that Aaron cheated on Shayanna a lot with other women, including trying to romance their nanny.

At the second trial I believe she found out he also cheated on her with men, like Ryan.

The problem with focusing so much on his sexuality is it’s making it seem like Aaron was violent largely because he liked guys too, instead of the fact his brain was severely damaged.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | October 3, 2024 4:09 AM |
Wasn't he violent before the brain damage as well? I'm NOT saying it was due to his sexuality; more so his father and other people around him.

From Google AI:
[quote]According to Boston University's Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) Center director Ann McKee, Aaron Hernandez had stage 3 CTE, which was the WORST SHE'D SEEN IN SOMEONE WHO DIED AT AGE 27.
The CTE could have been getting progressively worse from high school on. It's a good candidate for the cause of at least some of the violent behavior, but we'll never know what he'd have been like without it.
From another source:
[quote] Aaron Hernandez Reportedly Wanted To Be A Cheerleader But His ‘Deeply Homophobic’ Dad Wouldn’t Accept It
[quote] Dennis Hernandez (Aaron's father) had long had concerns that Aaron, as a boy, had a feminine way about him — the way he stood or used his hands, his brother said. He also remembered one of Aaron’s early ambitions that sent their father over the edge.
[quote] “I remember he wanted to be a cheerleader. My cousins were cheerleaders and amazing,” Jonathan said. “And I remember coming home and like my dad put an end to that really quick. And it was not OK. My dad made it clear that … he had his definition of a man.”
[quote] The home environment, in general, was deeply homophobic.
[quote] ‘Faggot’ was used all the time in our house,” Jonathan said. “All the time. Standing. Talking. Acting. Looking. It was the furthest thing my father wanted you to even look like in our household. This was not acceptable to him.”

The Patriots knew Aaron was in the streets and turned a blind eye to it because he was doing good for them until he was charged with murder. Then they erased him from the team’s history. I wonder if he was drafted to a team as far away from his friends in Bristol, maybe none of this would’ve ever happened.

The next episode preview shows Aaron sitting in the driver’s seat shooting at Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu but according to Alexander Bradley’s testimony, Aaron was sitting in the passenger seat. So that’s inaccurate. And it calls into question how could a big guy like Aaron lean over Alexander Bradley and pull off these perfect shots. I know Jose Baez gets the side eye from lots of people but his book gives an interesting perspective on the double murder trial Aaron was acquitted of. It’s also possible Alexander Bradley was actually shot in a drug deal that went wrong.

I rewatched Super Bowl 46 on YouTube. The game where Aaron scored a touchdown and made it rain. He did really good in the game overall. Sucks that he couldn’t leave the streets and his old friends behind. People said he was Travis Kelce before Travis Kelce.

by Anonymous | reply 192 | October 10, 2024 8:43 PM |
R191 Aaron was way more thugged out than Travis Kelce’s midwestern ass. He was a better athlete too. I really think CTE made him certifiably paranoid about his sexuality, like in a clinical way. It’s still no excuse for him murdering his homie like that though.
by Anonymous | reply 193 | October 10, 2024 8:48 PM |
I think the gist of it so far is most of these NFL guys are nothing more than thugs who get college scholarships. Meyer said in ep 3 I think. "We can't control them." Old rich white dudes making money off of young underprivledge people of color who excel at physical activity by waving what they would consider a lot of money at them to keep them endentured. Just another form of slavery.
by Anonymous | reply 194 | October 10, 2024 8:55 PM |
R193 I think so too. It doesn’t make sense why Odin even got in the car. It appeared he knew something was going to happen to him or that he saw/knew something he shouldn’t have based on his text message to his sister. I wish the other guys who were with Aaron that night, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, would reveal how things went down.
I don’t think Aaron was a saint or didn’t already have underlying issues but I do think his severe brain damage, coupled with his friends who were bad influences and a feeling of invincibility and arrogance due to his celebrity status, was his downfall. The CTE just pushed him further to decide Odin couldn’t be trusted and had to go.
by Anonymous | reply 195 | October 10, 2024 8:56 PM |
He had to be no older than 25, at the light, didn’t realize the shit was turning green, confused and delirious. I actually think he could perceive the light was green but at that moment he forgot which one meant go.

Meh. CTE doesn't turn a guy into a cold blooded killer. Aaron's story is incredibly sad and depressing because he had a dim mind and he was oppressed and abused for most of his boyhood and teens. He was a brilliant physical specimen however. But he didn't have the wits to go legit and grow up, morally and in behaviour. He was permanent wrecked before adulthood.
by Anonymous | reply 198 | October 10, 2024 9:14 PM |
If Aaron pursued the arts like say acting instead of football, I don’t think this story would end the way it did. I wouldn’t say CTE is the sole reason as I think it was a multitude of things, but when his brain looked like this, I don’t think it can be ignored when discussing how things ended.

R189 Is Ryan the same high school friend who came forward when the news broke about Aaron's sexuality? In the documentary, he was very open and unafraid to discuss details of their relationship. If he's married with kids, it seems like he/they have already dealt with it.
by Anonymous | reply 210 | October 12, 2024 8:40 AM |
R210 No, that was a different guy. Ryan hasn’t spoken publicly about Aaron or the extent of their relationship and I’m pretty sure he cut ties with Aaron when he was convicted of murder.
by Anonymous | reply 211 | October 12, 2024 11:29 AM |
For some reason I’m kinda addicted to listening Aaron’s jail calls. They humanize him in a way for me. It’s interesting how differently he talked to different people in his life like Shay, Ryan, the Pouncey’s, etc. He was a different person to different people.
by Anonymous | reply 212 | October 12, 2024 11:32 AM |
R211 I searched the IMDB full cast listing, and there is no character named "Ryan" in the series. His high school teammate, who Aaron had a sexual relationship with, is named Dennis SanSouci. This is the same person who came forward in the documentary after Aaron's suicide. He had previously been married and in the Marines, and now identifies as queer.
So where did "Ryan" come from?
by Anonymous | reply 213 | October 14, 2024 1:10 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 215 | October 14, 2024 1:15 AM |
R213 Ryan hasn’t publicly spoken about Aaron or the extent of their relationship. He also has two children with his wife Dana and lives a private life and seems to want nothing to do with Aaron related media, so I’m guessing that’s why the show doesn’t name him as a character.
by Anonymous | reply 216 | October 14, 2024 2:12 AM |
Alright, thanks. I missed all the Ryan related threads. Those are a lot of background postings to cover. As the love of Aaron's life, is there evidence to support speculation that Ryan felt similarly, Did they have an intimate relationship, or just take trips to Costa Rica together?
by Anonymous | reply 217 | October 14, 2024 2:38 AM |
R217 This is just my opinion but whatever love Ryan had for Aaron, I’m guessing it was lost when Aaron was convicted of murder and he no longer benefited from associating with him. Ryan testified at Aaron’s second trial and didn’t appear friendly or express support towards Aaron on the stand. By comparison Aaron’s straight football friend Deonte Thompson shared smiles with Aaron and made a supportive gesture towards Aaron when he left the stand. Ryan didn’t attend Aaron’s funeral and has avoided speaking out about Aaron so far.

R239 Yeah they kept clowning Aaron all throughout the roast. I can’t lie some jokes were funny and it’s understandable they would joke about Aaron, but it started getting old the more they kept going and it just felt weird how much they were tearing into Aaron when the roast was about Tom Brady. And we all know Aaron wasn’t a saint but it left a bad taste when multiple of the jokes were about his suicide. Hate him all you want but he still has family out there.

R238 Those roasts are pretty hardcore. It’s not for the faint of heart. Years had passed since his ordeal and suicide and after all he did murder somebody.
by Anonymous | reply 244 | October 17, 2024 4:45 PM |
R241 All the black NFL players who had dealings with him speak more positive or nuance than the good ol boys on the Pats who are so self righteous. That’s that Bill Belichick shit. But on the same token I kinda understand. Aaron was doing some wild shit. He murdered his friend. That shit is foul and could have tainted the entire Belichick/Brady era.

Having only seen him in press conferences I had no idea that Belichick was such a quirky guy.

R245 If the Patriots agreed to trade Aaron when he asked them or asked him tougher questions, maybe Odin Lloyd would still be alive today. I don’t think they ever thought Aaron would be involved in murder casez but it was known that Aaron was in the streets and hung around dangerous people and they didn’t seem to care as long as he was doing good for them.

R247, one of Belichick’s things, actually, finding talented players who had issues. He believed that he could make them disciplined and effective. Aaron seemed to fit the profile: troubled but incredibly talented and seemingly coachable. The Patriots knew that they were taking a chance, they just didn’t know how bad it was going to get.

Not at all - Danza was quite the hunky sexy guy - right through his 60s. He was especially sexy in his 30s and 40s. If only those lucky chorus boys who he called into his 'dressing room' when he starred in 'The Producers' 20 years ago would talk...

Comment from Lipstick Alley:
“Some of those docs also ‘conveniently’ left out KEY facts in the case. It’s like they were following the prosecutor’s notes and not discussing both sides. (Especially the ID one)
Boston PD intentionally hid eye witnesses & crucial evidence because it didn’t fit Alexander Bradley’s version of events. Eye witness testimony from the Cape Verdean’s who fled said they saw a woman in the passenger seat. The security guards who witnessed the SUV run the red light said the passenger was a woman with cornrowed braids with beads on them. The street sweeper who rolled through the crime scene was actually the first on the scene (immediately after the shooting) and told detectives he saw a woman with braids with her head sticking out of the moonroof. — Boston PD buried ALL of this! Then one of the Cape Verdean’s who was shot who survived told a member of hospital staff when asked what happened, said, “He was in a gunfight.” Not, he was shot at, he was in a gunfight. The other two fled, and one destroyed evidence. (But, why though?)
Not to mention, the fan who took a photo with Aaron in the club said he went back to his friends but watched Aaron go to the bar and said he was surprised he didn’t go to some VIP area. He watched him order drinks, then went back up to him again to thank him again for the pic. (He didn’t witness a drink spill or altercation) They also do a damn good job of breaking down how illogical it is that Aaron could reach across the SUV to hang out of the window to accurately shoot into a car.
In Bradley’s Florida shooting - a mountain of evidence shows he was not shot in the car as he said. He was shot outside. The hat he was wearing was found near a chain link fence and it had high velocity blood spatter on it (indicating he was wearing it when he was shot). A bullet (matching the one shot at Bradley) was found right next to the baseball cap near the fence. There was also high velocity spatter on the other side of the chain link fence (indicating he was shot near the fence) and the area was too small to hold an SUV. Bradley also went missing for 5 minutes after 2 independent witnesses who worked at the warehouse heard the shots. They came out looking and saw no one...went around and then saw Bradley (surprisingly alert) but no where near where he was actually shot (Could he have been hiding evidence - a gun, destroying his phone?).
Aaron’s cellphone data showed him at his hotel, no where near the shooting at the time Bradley was shot. It also confirmed that he called Bradley multiple times with no answer. (He said he was worried that something went wrong) Cell towers also show he tried to call Bradley from West Palm Beach all the way to Miami Airport.
Bradley’s lies were too elaborate and not cohesive enough to withstand a cross examination - so Baez ate him up (which he would not have been able to do, if the truth was on Bradley’s side).”

by Anonymous | reply 276 | October 23, 2024 4:16 AM |
Why did Odin even get in the car with Aaron Hernandez and his friends Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace if he knew something bad was going to happen to him that night? Based on Odin’s text messages to his sister, he knew something bad could potentially happen to him yet he still decided to hangout and get in the car with them. It’s strange.

Agree about Josh Rivera. He's really good.
by Anonymous | reply 283 | October 23, 2024 5:22 PM |
To me, Josh Andres RIvera doesn't look or act anything like Hernandez. His body is much bigger and beefier than Hernandez ever was (Hernandez was much sexier), and his face was much cuter. I live in New England, so Hernandez coverage was non-stop around here.

The guy who is playing him on this show is much hotter.
by Anonymous | reply 286 | October 23, 2024 5:29 PM |
I think maybe the reason I don’t find the show exciting is because I’ve already consumed so much media content about this story and know how it ends. I’ve enjoyed watching the episodes but I’m also not a fan of some of the approaches they’ve taken with this story.

R288 The photo shows how different the two of them look. Hernande had a very cute face (more oval) and a hot body (look at the chest and abs). Rivera has a pudgy round face and a pudgy / chubby body. Not really someone I would take a second look at in real life. However, his acting is superb and his sex scenes / undressed scenes do get me aroused. So he deserves an Emmy just for that ! LOL

by Anonymous | reply 298 | October 23, 2024 9:30 PM |
I'm not a football fan, not a fan of tattoos, certainly had no idea about his same-sex inclinations, but from the first time I saw Hernandez, I was an immediate fan of him. Diminished by the fact that he turned out to be a murderer. The looks, intensity, and charisma would be hard for any actor to replicate, but glad that Rivera took on the role. It's a challenge and he's doing a respectable job. From my perspective.

Good point, R298. I mean, there's no extended or super explicit sex scenes or anything. But what they do show is pretty convincing. So who is the real-life equivalent of the trainer on the show. I know he wasn't a trainer in real life.

So how much of this is true and how much is "dramatization." If you're doing a biopic, shouldn't you at least adhere to basic facts?
A couple of weeks ago, they showed a scene where Aaron's uncle (his mother's brother) molested him when Aaron was a boy. That was blatantly false and if the Uncle was still alive, probably would have been a good cause for a libel suit against Murphy.. Aaron was molested, but NOT by his uncle.

R350 I should clarify - I was remembering her as the news was happening back in 2013, and local news crews were finding her in public and interrogating her. (I live about ten miles away from where Hernandez lived / Odin was murdered). People used to question how Hernandez was attracted to her (obviously he wasn't) as he was such a cute guy and she was so homely and trashy.
Over the years, by the time she went to Dr. Phil, she may have been taught how to act in public. She may have hired a stylist, too, with all the money she has access to these days.

[quote] WIll Ryan do American Crime Story: Ed Gein with Evan Peters as Ed and Jessica Lange as Augusta?
Ed Gein will be a season of Monster on Netflix. Charlie Hunnam has been cast as Gein with Laurie Metcalfe as Augusta.

Solid finale. The show wasn’t bad but could’ve been better. Episodes 4 and 8 were the only ones that really stood out to me.

I thought the finale was good

His brain being cut into deli slices? Gawd that was disturbing.

I know people were making fun of the actor, saying they got him off Temu. I agree he didn't look much like the real Aaron Hernandez, but the actor was killing it. He was really good. Great acting imo.

Aaron's mother was great on this show too.

I also liked the actress who played Shay

Was he hung?
I got fucked by a guy just like him in Fort Tryon Park in 1999. Was so good I didn't need another fuck for a month.

R377 And liked to show it off on the field in his commando Lycra football shorts.

There is a Jon Benet Mini Series in the works with Clive Owens and Melissa McCarthy as John and Patsy.

Why wasn't Aaron's prison lover featured more? He was just in one scene, where he gave Aaron drugs.
by Anonymous | reply 380 | November 16, 2024 6:38 AM |
Wish they had featured him more

Tammy Blanchard was his mother in this? She started out on Guiding Light and was phenomenal. Her GL mother was Patti D’Arbanville. Her brother was Jesse Lee Soffer and then Vampire Diaries’ Paul Wesley. She won a Prime Time Emmy for her role as a young Judy Garland right after she left Guiding Light.

I liked Tammy as Aaron's trashy mom in this.
by Anonymous | reply 383 | November 17, 2024 3:10 AM |
Aaron's mom in real life seemed to go through a trashy conversion of sorts. There's doc footage of a younger Aaron visiting the school where she worked, in which she looks like an average sort of pretty suburban mom. Before the wacky black hair. That version never made an appearance in the series.

Tammy Blanchard is a goddamned national treasure.
by Anonymous | reply 385 | November 17, 2024 2:20 PM |
Tammy Blanchard should have had a bigger career.
by Anonymous | reply 386 | November 17, 2024 5:09 PM |
Fuck no
by Anonymous | reply 387 | November 17, 2024 5:39 PM |
She's great
by Anonymous | reply 388 | November 17, 2024 10:04 PM |
Tammy did an interview with her Guiding Light costars Paul Wesley and Brittany Snow about 2 or 3 years. She’s hysterical and gives no fucks. You can tell she’s a little kooky in a good way. She should have had a bigger career. She can act.
by Anonymous | reply 389 | November 17, 2024 10:42 PM |
Oh and One Tree Hill’s Bethany Lenz, Here’s the interview.

R382 Guiding Light had a lot of future young stars on the show at that time. Matt Bomer was another one. I can’t remember the others, but there were several more. To be in a Jesse Lee Soffer/ Paul Wesley sandwich!
Tammy was outstanding on Guiding Light and so beautiful. Oh her boyfriend on the show, at first, was Taye Diggs! She could’ve had a huge career. She’s so talented.

I had no idea Tammy was nominated for two Tonys and a Grammy.

What's the Venn diagram of American Sports Story viewers, Guiding Light viewers, and people who have never been on DL? Would that be the empty set?
by Anonymous | reply 393 | November 18, 2024 9:19 PM |
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
by Anonymous | reply 394 | November 18, 2024 11:35 PM |
R393, I’m a fan of the Aaron Hernandez Story, was a huge fan of GL, but have been on DL a bit over a year.
by Anonymous | reply 395 | November 19, 2024 1:45 AM |
Exactly, so that puts you outside the intersection of the stated 3 groups. It would be hard to find the exception here since we're discussing this on DL.
by Anonymous | reply 396 | November 19, 2024 9:49 AM |
Loved Guiding Light, too.
