I have a cousin who voted for Trump in 2016, but back then he wasn't spewing the crazy conspiracy shit. A couple of years later he went full into the QAnon crap and I stopped talking to him. Other relatives over time also stopped talking to him.

A friend went through a similar experience with her mom. Her mom is lifelong Republican, but when Trump go into politics my friend said her mother went from a sane Republican who was gay friendly to a far right conspiracy theory believer and the mom also stated posting a homophobic memes on Facebook. My friend has what she calls a minimal contact relationship with her mom. They talk on the phone maybe twice a month. My friend hasn't visited her mom since early 2020.

In the recent interviews I've seen with Olsen (past five years or so), she has always come across to me as a lesbian. Are we certain she's a homophobe ?

Anyhow, I remember meeting Barry Williams in my store back in the summer of '92. He was in town with the musical 'City of Angels' (which I had already seen on Broadway a few years earlier). He would walk through the neighborhood each day around lunchtime, and stopped in each day to buy a few things. He was in his late 30s then, and I have to say - standing just a few feet away from him and having a casual conversation (usually about restaurant recommendations in the area) - the guy was sex on a stick, walking around in shorts and a muscle shirt (he had a great muscled chest with hair on it and muscled arms back then). He said he loved our city, didn't mind when fans approached him in the store, and was nice to everyone. Everyone wanted to say hi to him, but no one ever asked about 'The Brady Bunch' for some reason (we all went as far as mentioning we knew him from the show, of course). I think he was expecting more questions to share gossip from the show. No one bothered him for autographs, either.

I remember towards the end of the week he came in with an autographed show card for me (I have it framed) and two tickets to the closing performance. The show was great - better than what I had seen on Broadway a few seasons prior. After the show, in the lobby, he was selling copies of his memoir he had released that year. I bought a copy from him and he autographed my copy with my name, and '... the nicest guy I met in Providence, RI'. I still have it - unread.

He was such a nice, down to earth guy. I can't believe he turned 70 this past Monday.
