What kitchen appliance would they have to pry out of your cold, dead hands?
I've had a slow juicer for a year but never opened it until yesterday. I love having green juices spiked with watermelon or apple and ginger juice. What shocks me is that it was a Chinese knock-off via Amazon. If it breaks down, I'll replace it with a Hurom or something more expensive.
Yes, I realize the beefs against juicing but Martha Stewart starts every day with green juice and she's fabulous.
So this is replacing my Instant Pot, rice cooker and Blendtech blender as the object of my affection.
What's your favoritekitchen appliance?

My little DeLonghi espresso machine.
It makes an adequate coffee and I like how little space it takes up.

My stovetop percolator that works in a flash on my induction cooktop.
Nothing beats the kitchen aroma of a percolator making coffee in the morning.

A tiny toaster oven which I use for tuna melts on an English muffin or reheating a slice of pizza, or toasting similary small items.

None of the above. I hate cooking, baking, slicing, dicing, mincing and then cleaning up all that shitty mess afterwards.
But I do like to eat.

For usefulness, the no-name (“Chef’s Choice”) toaster oven/toaster/broiler from JC Penney maybe 10 years ago. I use it more than any other appliance. The old chrome Dualit toaster hasn’t been used for years.
The juicer for fresh OJ and the little Cuisinart “spice grinder” - heh, heh - for weed are indispensable but I use the toaster oven the most. During the pandemic they couldn’t get a part to repair the real oven for 3 or 4 months and I managed without it, just needed smaller pans.

I have a Moulinex countertop-type oven/convection oven (in place of a large appliance oven); a small microwave; a Krups coffe machine; and an emulsion blender. That's it for electrical small kitchen appliances. I used to have a blender, stand and portable mixers, waffle iron, panini grille, toaster, toaster oven, coffee grinder, battery powered scales; and probably something/s forgotten, but I moved and ditched them. None of them are missed.

I second the countertop oven. I don't have a Moulinex but these countertops are so much better for 2 people than regular ovens. They heat up fast, are easy to clean, and don't take up as much space as you'd think. Haven't used the regular oven for 6 months.

KitchenAid stand mixer, two stainless steel 5 quart bowls, one copper insert bowl for beating egg whites. Even though I don’t bake that much nowadays, it is essential when I do.

Americans love heir small kitchen appliances. And open kitchens. And to hide the shame of countless too specific devices, and salad spinners bigger than a dowager countess' hat box.
How to balance it all?

[quote]KitchenAid stand mixer
Another vote for KitchenAid Mixer. My mom bought one for me in the early years before they became a thing in multi-colors and that thing really has been a gem, particularly for making rye bread, which is incredibly dense. I've got a Nespresso coffee maker which I like, but would not replace if it broke

ESPRESSO MACHINE
I have a real one, not that Keurig/Nespresso garbage that makes coffee scented piss water.

R25 is very pleased with himself for having a real ESPRESSO MACHINE. I am very pleased with myself to have 12 coffee bars within one block of me, so if I want a good, strong coffee, I take it in the street and let someone else make it, serve it, and do the cleaning up, all for €1.30 to €1.60. At ome when I can´t be bothered, I drink coffee scented piss water from a Keurig/Nespresso. We all have our own luxuries.

Sorry you have to go outside, like a vagrant, for a decent cup of coffee. Also what's with your fucked up apostrophes?
No shade, btw, I'm just having a really bad day and feel like taking it out on my fellow DLers. I'm happy to return the favour anytime.

Seems there's no appliance that helps r32 channel his anger and upset in a way that isn't destructive. You'd rather shit on someone online and attempt to make them feel bad about themselves because you're too lazy and self-indulgent to do 25 jumping jacks or something.

Ice cream maker!!! We make it twice a week at least, we thought it would be a George Formen grill, and get rid of it, you can make batchafter batch.

If my slow juicer turns out to be a piece of shit, I will replace it with a high end model. So much easier to clean than the standard centrifugal juices. Green juices with apple and ginger are nice.

my InstaPot. Never made better pot roast than with that thing. Also, I like me steamed veggies for my weekly meal prep and it does a good job.
But the Instapot is good for soups and red meat. Love that thing.
I miss my toaster oven. But the way my kitchen is setup, there inset a good spot for one, but when I buy my place in the within the next year that’s the first thing on my list.

Ate you huffing files from your Instapot, R38? Something is awry.
Buy may I borrow, "in the within the"? It has a hint of peak Van Morrison to its craziness.

Sounds pretty fickle.

You’re right, R39, but I imagined it in a more Jim Morrison way:
“Cumon baby fight my liar in the within the instapot”

r12, how many cans of food do you open a day/week that you need an electric can opener? Doesn't everything in cans now come with a pull top?
I have a collapsible salad spinner that I love. When I lived in small NYC apartments with tiny kitchens I never had a salad spinner because they take up so much room and can't really be multi-purposed. I would have loved this and its collapsible strainer companion even more then. I simply marvel at its design ingenuity as I flatten it to store on the shelf with pot lids.
