Kum & Go has taken over our city, in the last 2 years they have sprung up everywhere

by Anonymousreply 1September 1, 2024 12:53 AM

Team Wawa

by Anonymousreply 2September 1, 2024 12:53 AM

What the fuck are you talking about?!

by Anonymousreply 3September 1, 2024 1:00 AM

Shits .

by Anonymousreply 4September 1, 2024 1:09 AM

Sheetz is the new Wawa.

by Anonymousreply 5September 1, 2024 1:17 AM

Baba Wawa

by Anonymousreply 6September 1, 2024 1:19 AM

R1 people should picket outside those stores on moral grounds

by Anonymousreply 7September 1, 2024 1:26 AM

I was at a ghetto Wawa this evening.

by Anonymousreply 8September 1, 2024 1:26 AM

This should’ve been a poll.

by Anonymousreply 9September 1, 2024 1:34 AM

[quote] Team Wawa

Wawa team.

by Anonymousreply 10September 1, 2024 1:35 AM

Sheetz is upscale.

Wawa is ghetto

by Anonymousreply 11September 1, 2024 1:39 AM

Quik Trip is way better than those other 2 shit stops! Long live QT!

by Anonymousreply 12September 1, 2024 1:40 AM

Wawa is great.

by Anonymousreply 13September 1, 2024 1:42 AM

R13 aside from the comical name and genius marketing - the last Wawa I was in had a jumbo-tron menu showing commercials for its subs while impatient customers waited for one greasy employee to prepare an almost inedible sandwich. No thx

by Anonymousreply 14September 1, 2024 1:48 AM

I’d rather be dipped in honey and then tied down to an ant hill as to eat another sub from Wawa!

by Anonymousreply 15September 1, 2024 1:51 AM

R1, this is a thread about convenience stores, not your bedroom.

by Anonymousreply 16September 1, 2024 1:58 AM

We only care that you vote. We don’t give a rat’s ass about your drive-by cuisine options.

by Anonymousreply 17September 1, 2024 2:00 AM

lol r16 I read that they are going to change the name now (after building 8 of them recently in our city)

by Anonymousreply 18September 1, 2024 2:05 AM

Put me down as a vote for Buc-ee’s, which I believe is pronounced “bussies” although I don’t think I’ve ever heard it said aloud.

by Anonymousreply 19September 1, 2024 2:33 AM

It’s the Shitz with a Plilly accent.

by Anonymousreply 20September 1, 2024 2:35 AM

If you like Fried Chicken stop by Royal Farms.

The Sheetz near me always has dirty self checkout stations, but that's the only place I can get my Herr's Honey Cheese Curls.

by Anonymousreply 22September 1, 2024 2:58 AM

R22, YTF.

by Anonymousreply 23September 1, 2024 3:00 AM

Wawa caters your parents 50th anniversary dinner

by Anonymousreply 24September 1, 2024 3:03 AM

I wish we had either one of them (or something similar) in California.

by Anonymousreply 25September 1, 2024 3:04 AM

I'd promote the really good Champ Sandwich at QuikTrip here, but I don't want to stand behind you fat whores in line to get one

by Anonymousreply 26September 1, 2024 3:05 AM

3 Sheetz to the Wawa

by Anonymousreply 27September 1, 2024 3:06 AM

r19 I would like to visit a Buc-ees too, even though it's probably the Trump crowd

by Anonymousreply 28September 1, 2024 3:29 AM

In what country are these stores ?

by Anonymousreply 29September 1, 2024 3:34 AM

Yunz want to go to Sheetz for an M.T.O????

by Anonymousreply 30September 1, 2024 3:42 AM

Why am I even reading this?

by Anonymousreply 31September 1, 2024 3:44 AM

These stores done really exist-pics are photoshopped.

by Anonymousreply 32September 1, 2024 4:11 AM

Have never been to a Wawa. Grew up near where Sheetz started and when I first discovered them about 15ish years ago was surprised at how decent some of their food was. Obviously not earning a Michelin star but pretty decent stuff for the price.

I mean, it's a convenience store, I can't exactly get all pumped about that. But they seem to be well run, clean and have decent basic food at hours when other places are closed. It does the job sufficiently.

by Anonymousreply 33September 1, 2024 4:14 AM

Isn't Wawa the place Jason Kelce and his wife do the commercials for? They have subs named after them.

by Anonymousreply 34September 1, 2024 4:27 AM

Wawa sounds like what that bitch Neely O Hara repeated over and over in that damn Miracle Worker!

Miracle was a bitch that homely became a star!

by Anonymousreply 35September 1, 2024 4:31 AM

They are currently building a Wawa in my town so I haven't tried it but Sheetz does Tater Tots. Try topping that Wawa.

by Anonymousreply 36September 1, 2024 4:34 AM

You can't beat Wawa. Ours is new, clean, orderly. The food is good and I'm pretty picky about food quality. I cook and eat carefully but if I have to grab something fast I'll go to Wawa.

by Anonymousreply 37September 1, 2024 4:45 AM

You know I was fully on team Wawa for years, but I really think their quality has declined. They’re trying to do way too much - like, is anyone really going to Wawa for a burger or pizza? The stuff they used to do well - hoagies and deli sandwiches - really aren’t that great anymore. And I’ve kind of lost my taste for their coffee, it tastes super weak.

Here in South Jersey we have a chain called Heritages. One of my co-workers would always insist they are better, so I finally decided to check them out. It was like walking back into the 80s - the store definitely hadn’t been updated. However, the food was great. Someone took my order from the counter. They actually sliced the meat fresh for my sandwich. And the coffee is flavorful.

So I’m pretty much done with Wawa.

by Anonymousreply 38September 1, 2024 10:36 AM

gas station food? no.

by Anonymousreply 39September 1, 2024 11:42 AM

Oh honey, if the highlight of your trip is getting food at a gas station then you really should have just stayed home.

by Anonymousreply 40September 1, 2024 12:19 PM

I always like to eat where I can get gas.

by Anonymousreply 41September 1, 2024 2:01 PM

That wasn't a good idea when you were driving in to get some gas for your Ford Pinto.

We're now discussing places with rows of EV charging stations, so once again, time has passed DL by while they were at home making their own ketchup

by Anonymousreply 42September 1, 2024 2:44 PM

mayo

by Anonymousreply 43September 1, 2024 2:46 PM

I haven't been in a convenience store in decades, not even to buy gas at the pump. The prices of merchandise in those stores is outrageous, and I have absolutely no interest in any of their food offerings.

by Anonymousreply 44September 1, 2024 2:58 PM

How would you even know the price or good quality after being away for do many decades?

Their net profit and reviews would indicate that you are mistaken.

by Anonymousreply 45September 1, 2024 3:23 PM

I hear all the stories of the prices charged for things in these stores from people I know who are willing to throw their money away in them.

by Anonymousreply 46September 1, 2024 3:54 PM

You hear things? People say things?

by Anonymousreply 47September 1, 2024 3:55 PM

[quote]I haven't been in a convenience store in decades, not even to buy gas at the pump. The prices of merchandise in those stores is outrageous, and I have absolutely no interest in any of their food offerings.

Some of you are just too delicate for this world.

by Anonymousreply 48September 1, 2024 4:49 PM

Wawa shitty

by Anonymousreply 49September 1, 2024 5:06 PM

I have never seen a wawa, been to a wawa or had anyone go ta a wawa.

I thought it was urban slang for Walmart, but I googled wawa, and it is a chain of Wawa Convenience Stores.

Sheetz is the same. Just dumbassed names for dumbassed mini-markets.

by Anonymousreply 50September 1, 2024 5:12 PM

R49 = Lizsha

by Anonymousreply 51September 1, 2024 5:14 PM

R39, Wawa started adding gas at its newer locations with the past decade or two. Wawa began as a dairy farm in Wawa, Pennsylvania (named for Canadian geese, I believe).

Initially, in the 1960s (I think) the dairy opened small stores selling milk and the like. Sliced lunch meats, loose rolls, Tastykakes, and other food items were sold in the stores. Eventually hoagies and other freshly made food items were added.

Wawa was, to my knowledge, one of the first places to use ordering kiosks, making customers’ wait time appreciably shorter and in-store experience seamless compared to other shops. (I remember Genuardi’s supermarkets using a similar system for in-store deli lines — why aren’t all supermarkets and delis using this system?)

by Anonymousreply 52September 1, 2024 5:26 PM

Thread for fat whores. You people should not be eating gas station food!

by Anonymousreply 53September 1, 2024 5:38 PM

I thought this thread was about baby talk...

by Anonymousreply 54September 1, 2024 5:47 PM

I pay at the pump, I get ticked when there is a problem and I have to go inside

by Anonymousreply 55September 1, 2024 6:38 PM

I only shop in stores that accept my personal checks

by Anonymousreply 56September 1, 2024 7:46 PM

r56 won't be shopping at Target much longer

by Anonymousreply 57September 1, 2024 7:48 PM

WAWA

by Anonymousreply 58September 1, 2024 8:02 PM

R56 do they take credit cards? On the WML thread, they don’t use credit cards.

by Anonymousreply 59September 1, 2024 8:03 PM

"If you like Fried Chicken stop by Royal Farms."

If you like fried chicken, do yourself a favor and go someplace else for decent chicken. It's a pale imitation of KFC, and not nearly as good as Popeye's.

Plus it smells greasy inside every Royal Farms.

by Anonymousreply 60September 1, 2024 8:07 PM

I haven't been to a Wawa in 30 years, but back then I thought it was definitely a step up from 7-11 or Circle-K. For whatever that's worth.

by Anonymousreply 61September 1, 2024 8:09 PM

Do people poop in a Wawa or a Sheetz?

by Anonymousreply 62September 1, 2024 8:43 PM

No love for Love's truck stops here?

by Anonymousreply 63September 1, 2024 8:47 PM

R61 slightly less than a bucket of warm spit

by Anonymousreply 64September 1, 2024 8:52 PM

Neither is in Vermont. We like Maple fields.

by Anonymousreply 65September 1, 2024 9:27 PM

R50 wawa wars is a thing. It’s been reported on CBS news. Jason Kelse has even chimed in his support for Wawa. Sheetz is the enemy of Wawa. Big Pennsylvania turf wars.

by Anonymousreply 66September 2, 2024 12:25 AM

R61 a lot of people think shopping at Wawa is some kind of religious experience. It’s not. Wawa is pure excrement. They have 1 pimple assed worker literally catering events and a big ass load of sandwich orders with a legion of hungry ass customers waiting for their order numbers to be announced over a speaker

by Anonymousreply 67September 2, 2024 12:28 AM

How vivid.

by Anonymousreply 68September 2, 2024 1:51 AM

WAWA! The food and beverages are the best.

by Anonymousreply 69September 2, 2024 2:50 AM

R61, have you been to a Sheetz lately? The food is terrible.

by Anonymousreply 70September 2, 2024 2:52 AM

Wazz da shitz?

by Anonymousreply 71September 2, 2024 2:54 AM

R12 Quik Trip, Wawa, and Sheetz all sound like what I’d be doing in the bathroom after eating their convenience food.

by Anonymousreply 72September 2, 2024 2:59 AM

At the same time?

by Anonymousreply 73September 2, 2024 3:13 AM

OMG-Where do you people live?

by Anonymousreply 74September 2, 2024 2:58 PM

R74 - Wawa & Sheetz are HUGE throughout the mid Atlantic region.

Quik Trip (QT)- Missouri (Kansas City & St Louis) mostly. Their stores are great as long as you don’t shop/gas in dystopian areas.

by Anonymousreply 75September 2, 2024 3:30 PM

I wouldn't say "no" to some Wawa between the Sheetz.

by Anonymousreply 76September 2, 2024 4:39 PM

garf

by Anonymousreply 77September 2, 2024 4:54 PM

R63, I drove cross country and stopped at Love’s several times. It’s great.

by Anonymousreply 78September 2, 2024 6:05 PM

Love's is kinda trashy. I will only stop at Royal Farms, Wawa, or Sheetz. I'll stop at a 7/11, but only if it's in a nice part of town and it doesn't look like you're getting murdered. Have you ever noticed that all 7/11s smell the same?

by Anonymousreply 79September 2, 2024 6:38 PM

The 11 smell is more offensive than the 7 smell, so it would depend on the store.

by Anonymousreply 80September 2, 2024 7:06 PM

If you're a truck driver, a stop at Loves would be an oasis. But they only have the food they put out. No special orders allowed.

by Anonymousreply 81September 2, 2024 7:25 PM

Special on head in the parking lot…

by Anonymousreply 82September 2, 2024 7:33 PM

OP had just parked the tractor and taken off his overalls when he posted this.

by Anonymousreply 83September 2, 2024 7:49 PM

[quote]If you're a truck driver, a stop at Loves would be an oasis. But they only have the food they put out. No special orders allowed.

But do the truck drivers put out?

by Anonymousreply 84September 2, 2024 7:54 PM

R83 Richmond, Williamsburg, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, VA

by Anonymousreply 85September 2, 2024 8:43 PM

Who knew we had lot lizards trolling here at the DL?

by Anonymousreply 86September 2, 2024 9:07 PM

That’s a key DL demographic

by Anonymousreply 87September 2, 2024 10:18 PM

The Maple Fields website states that for food options, they proudly have Subway in most of their locations.

I'll keep driving

by Anonymousreply 88September 3, 2024 7:48 PM

Stop at Jumpin Jimmy’s and order a Jimmy Joy

by Anonymousreply 89September 3, 2024 9:14 PM

Shit on wawa

by Anonymousreply 90September 3, 2024 10:02 PM

That should be poo poo on wawa, R90. C'mon now.

by Anonymousreply 91September 4, 2024 10:17 AM

I have some friends whose teenage son was hired by Wawa. The store was located near a major interstate in the far western suburbs of Philly.

When he got home, friends asked kid how his first day of work went. He told them his first task was to put on a hazmat suit and clean up the parking lot, particularly the used syringes and condoms.

Kid's father called and told them son would not be going back to work there.

by Anonymousreply 92September 4, 2024 8:13 PM

R92, the kid was homeschooled, right?

by Anonymousreply 93September 8, 2024 7:55 PM

Who gives a Sheetz?

by Anonymousreply 94September 8, 2024 7:58 PM

I’ve never gone to a Wawa even though I grew up in Philly. Go figure.

by Anonymousreply 95September 8, 2024 7:59 PM

I visited a murder Wawa. Not going back!

by Anonymousreply 96September 8, 2024 10:46 PM

WAWA!!!

by Anonymousreply 97September 9, 2024 12:31 AM

I ordered a chicken salad sandwich at a Wawa once. At first I thought, "cool, I can get Old Bay on my sandwich!" Then I took a bite into the grossly sweet mayo and mystery meat. YUCK! 🤮
