Years ago I attended one of these things......YEARS AGO.

Carroll Baker (New York Actors Studio vibe, but very pleasant and talked to everyone and told stories) and Carol Lynley (great fun....she was always looking for someone to pick up the tab for her breakfast...seemed to just want to talk to folks)......sat across from each other.....so I was hoping for a Dueling Harlows moment.....but it didn't happen.

Back in the early 90's I went to a "Glamourcon" event which hosted a bunch of Playboy playmates, Female icons, etc. I bought a couple posters and got to meet Julie Newmar and the Russ Meyers women. It was fun and we weren't charged for photo ops.

How does it work—you bring your own memento and then pay for them to sign? Do you get to sit and chat for a bit? Does the STAR have a box of on the floor, ready to pawn off on you? Do they have their own security for the nut jobs? All of the above?

R55 They don't allow you to bring in your own items. You have to buy what's there. The stars are usually sitting at tables with all their photos or books or whatever laid out for you to purchase. It's like going to a swap meet.

They were just spending a Saturday afternoon making a little coin.

I used to go to Dark Shadows conventions and we always wanted Kate Jackson to attend. She refused all invites, and it was her first bit of stardom, so I am glad she is showing up at other fan events. All of the DS actors adored her, especially Lara Parker and John Karlen. It was assumed she had an affair with David Selby back then, and that might have been why she stayed away, since he also came to most of the conventions.
