Jeopardy! #43
by Anonymous | reply 600 | December 14, 2024 12:09 AM |
In answer to a question asked at the end of the last thread, no spelling doesn’t count in final.
Correct spelling is not necessary.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 29, 2024 8:27 AM |
“Jeopardy! is not a spelling test — unless, of course, the category requires it,” it states on the show's website. “Written responses to the Final Jeopardy! clue do not have to be spelled correctly, but they must be phonetically correct and not add or subtract any extraneous sounds or syllables.”
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 29, 2024 11:52 AM |
Why didn't they show Drew's girlfriend in the studio audience? They showed his frat bros.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 29, 2024 12:04 PM |
The show seems uneven as to when they show audience members.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 29, 2024 12:33 PM |
Drew never said she was in the audience.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 29, 2024 1:49 PM |
Would've preferred gay Andrew to Cat, but I'm fine with Drew's exit. Rather a lame night, no? Sad that Drew couldn't manage the obvious Final clue. Others I knew they didn't: San Francisco, Madison County, Joan Crawford, and Louisiana.
My local station ran Thursday night's show again (has happened before), so watched Friday's on Sat morning via You Tube.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 29, 2024 4:12 PM |
Drew qualified for the TOC, but did not make near the cash haul of Adriana's $344K.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 29, 2024 4:32 PM |
Drew should have his TOC ticket taken away for that shit show. It was fucking embarrassing from all three twelve year olds. Wicked Witch of the West????
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 29, 2024 6:03 PM |
I find it hard to believe Drew has a girlfriend. He’s so homely and dorky.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 29, 2024 7:30 PM |
I’ll give you dorky, R10, but Drew is not homely.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 29, 2024 8:27 PM |
Dorky Drew was so proud of actually having a "girlfriend," (likely the first time that had ever happened), he moved to Philadelphia to be with her.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 29, 2024 9:06 PM |
I didn't need to see that!!!
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 29, 2024 11:14 PM |
That was a truly horrible game for all three. So many easy questions they all missed.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 30, 2024 1:18 AM |
Drew has the biggest Adam's Apple I've ever seen.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 30, 2024 3:51 AM |
Seriously Jeopardy. There’s gotta be better contestants out there than this velour-wearing Velma. Fucking moron.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 1, 2024 10:11 PM |
Oh, Gaaahd, l guessed Muthuh Goose!🪿
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 1, 2024 11:27 PM |
Zoe!!!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 2, 2024 12:04 AM |
The judges are so inconsistent in whether or not they rule mispronounced answers as correct. That guy Matt clearly said "larnyx" instead of "larynx," and his answer was ruled correct.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 2, 2024 12:15 AM |
I was shocked at what I clearly heard as "larnyx" also! Final was easy, as were Yukon Territory and Yeoman of the Guard.
I'm pleased with the result as 30 minutes with Zoe was more than I could stans!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 2, 2024 1:00 AM |
Zoe definitely seems to be "on the spectrum," and as far I can recall, she was one of the most bizarre contestants ever in the way she zig-zagged wildly back and forth between correct responses and really stupid, wrong ones.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 2, 2024 1:07 AM |
BOTULISM !
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 2, 2024 1:11 AM |
Zoe kept distracting me. I kept wondering what her pronouns were.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 2, 2024 1:12 AM |
R24, she must have felt really bad about that response, because she practically murmured the correct response before giving her final answer.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 2, 2024 1:13 AM |
BIG MAC!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 2, 2024 1:16 AM |
How old was that bizarre child?
FJ was easy, I guess, although I just said the Brothers Grimm, not the fairy tail part.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 2, 2024 1:30 AM |
There was a part of me that wanted Zoe to win so that I could see the pressure take its toll on her. See her triggered right into the Alex Trebek wing of Institute of Living.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 2, 2024 1:32 AM |
Yeah, I was curious how much of the final response was required beyond Brothers Grimm/Grimm Brothers....
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 2, 2024 2:14 AM |
I like the winner. Suspect he's a gay (or did I miss something in his mini interview?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 2, 2024 2:15 AM |
Yeah, I was curious how much of the final response was required beyond Brothers Grimm/Grimm Brothers....
"Brothers Grimm" or "Grimm Brothers" was not the name of the anthology, and that was the response required.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 2, 2024 2:21 AM |
But would Tales of the Brothers Grimm be acceptable? Or Grimms' Fairy Tales? Or....?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 2, 2024 2:40 AM |
In German, it’s Kinder- und Hausmarchen, which translates as Children’s and Household Tales—the word “fairy” is not in the title. But most translations call it “Grimm’s Fairy Tales” or some variation, so as long as someone gave an answer that they knew it was a volume of tales collected (not invented) by the Grimm Brothers, I assume the judges would have accepted it.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 2, 2024 2:56 AM |
So was that the season finale? My tv guide says repeats the rest of the week.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 2, 2024 3:38 AM |
I was hoping Zoe would pull through and win just to see her have a meltdown in the next episode.
Grimm’s Fairy Tales seemed so very obvious, I’m surprised Kat didn’t know it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 2, 2024 8:28 AM |
My TV guide indicates a new episode.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 2, 2024 12:03 PM |
R36, So does mine, and new shoes for the entire week.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 2, 2024 12:37 PM |
^shows, LOL.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 2, 2024 12:38 PM |
What sucks is that since 3/4 of the season was tournaments, that’s like what we’ll get for most of the summer.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 2, 2024 6:48 PM |
Seriously. I tuned out for most of the tournaments. Why so many? It sucked.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 2, 2024 7:20 PM |
I can only think the producers think audiences are more eager to tune in and watch contestants they already know.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 2, 2024 7:24 PM |
We were all sick of it. Especially the second chance ones. I don't want to watch a bunch of losers again.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 2, 2024 7:26 PM |
Honestly, why do some of you so dislike tournament games as opposed to regular game? Especially for rerun purposes?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 2, 2024 7:38 PM |
It's like watching a repeat and filled with contestants everyone hated.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 2, 2024 7:42 PM |
R40: The tournaments were the way the producers chose to deal with the strike early in the season.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 2, 2024 7:58 PM |
so all those returning contestants were scabs?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 2, 2024 8:00 PM |
Honestly, why do some of you so dislike tournament games as opposed to regular game?
Top three reasons…
1. Mattea Roach
2. Amy Schneider
3. Matt Amodio
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 2, 2024 8:59 PM |
I love my Matty.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 2, 2024 9:04 PM |
The guy who wore the dresses bugged me.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 2, 2024 9:06 PM |
Well, R47, I'll certainly agree that I had more than enough of Amy Schneider during that person's original run.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 2, 2024 9:12 PM |
I liked the hot guy from Jersey I think. Maybe Chris? He was a huge winner and was a more likeable AI GUI. He would never explain his customer service job. He was hot as fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 2, 2024 9:36 PM |
Finally watched last night's episode.
When I saw that there were 35 comments on this thread since the l time I was here, I presumed they were mostly about helium-voiced Zoe.
I was wrong - but still. What a weirdo!
Close your eyes when she speaks and it sounds like the voice of a mouse in an old Disney cartoon.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 2, 2024 9:47 PM |
I really enjoy the tournament format on Jeopardy. I’m just beyond tired of them turning big winners into celebrities and shoving them into tournaments. Just stop Jeopardy!
No more Amy and her cohorts.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 2, 2024 10:58 PM |
I never watch Jeopardy! repeats.
Why bother if you’re a nightly viewer?
It’s like watching a mystery movie when you already know the ending.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 2, 2024 11:04 PM |
I never bothered with “Chicago”. I guessed Betty Boop.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 2, 2024 11:12 PM |
Close your eyes when she speaks and it sounds like the voice of a mouse in an old Disney cartoon.
Absolutely, but also, didn't you think Zoe's seemed like she's "on the spectrum?" Her speech patterns reminded me a lot of Dustin Hoffman's character in RAIN MAN. Definitely, definitely!
by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 2, 2024 11:14 PM |
R56, She appeared to be very nervous throughout the entire show.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | July 2, 2024 11:33 PM |
Muscular Dystrophy???
by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 3, 2024 12:48 AM |
oh god what a boring game.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 3, 2024 12:50 AM |
FJ was so easy.
RIP - One day wonder Matt.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | July 3, 2024 1:11 AM |
Oh, Matt.
Bodies buried at the Chrysler Building?
Jesus H. Chrysler.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 3, 2024 1:25 AM |
I didn’t know Roxie’s last name.
😬😬
What a complete loser yesterday’s winner was.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | July 3, 2024 1:29 AM |
I got Final easily enough. My DL homes ought to have gotten Doris Day day, too, I hope!
by Anonymous | reply 63 | July 4, 2024 12:58 AM |
Doris Day Day!!!!! So easy.
I kept screaming at the TV to no avail.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | July 4, 2024 1:32 AM |
Ah "Lake Day" - the star of Pillow Talk.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | July 4, 2024 1:34 AM |
Isaac is quite likable and smart.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | July 4, 2024 1:38 AM |
Yeah I like the new champ. He's nerd hot.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | July 4, 2024 1:57 AM |
Doris Day Day was so easy!
Overall, a good game. I like the dorky new champ.
However I had no idea about Final.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | July 4, 2024 9:35 AM |
Some on here were defending Drew not knowing Bob Hope, yet Isaac should have known Doris Day starred in “Pillow Talk”?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | July 4, 2024 12:35 PM |
Pillow Talk is far more well-remembered than any film Bob Hope ever made and it's only one of several well-remembered films of Doris Day.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | July 4, 2024 2:53 PM |
I got Mary Stuart, bitches.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | July 4, 2024 3:06 PM |
R70, Bob Hope is much better known for his decades of work in television, entertaining the troops around the world and hosting the Academy Awards 19 times than for his movies, as popular as they were.
“Pillow Talk” was the only Doris Day movie cited in the clue, none of her others.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | July 4, 2024 3:08 PM |
I got the Doris Day part but couldn't finish with the extra day.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | July 4, 2024 3:36 PM |
Yes, dear r72, but the clue referred to one of her movies and even named it, hence my post.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | July 4, 2024 3:59 PM |
I wish the contestants would go back to the tradition of going from the top to bottom. I hate the searching for the daily doubles.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | July 4, 2024 4:00 PM |
And I'm actually constantly amazed by contestants who don't ever seem to be searching for the DDS.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | July 4, 2024 6:19 PM |
I hate the searching for the daily doubles.
And I'm actually constantly amazed by contestants who don't ever seem to be searching for the DDS.
Can someone please explain to me as if I were an idiot: What exactly constitutes "searching for the Daily Doubles" as compared to not doing so? Since the players have no idea where the DDs are, how does it help them to skipping around the board rather than proceeding through one category at a time? The only exception I can think of is that, as far as I know, there can never be more than one DD in any one category., so if one has already been found in a particular category, a contestant search for the other one would of course want to go to another category than finish off the first one.
Is there something about this that I'm misunderstanding?
by Anonymous | reply 77 | July 4, 2024 8:18 PM |
Yes, R77. 🙄
There aren’t DDs on the top line. Never. There isn’t more than one DD in any category. Also, lately, in the DJ round the DDs have tended to be under $800, $1,200 or $2,000.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | July 4, 2024 8:26 PM |
Also, lately, in the DJ round the DDs have tended to be under $800, $1,200 or $2,000.
"Tended" is one thing, but of course, there's no sort of rule to that effect. So the only way one can "search for Daily Doubles" is to avoid the top line and to switch out of a category if a contestant has already found a DD in it. Correct?
Anyway, why do you suppose it is that the DDs are apparently never in the top line?
by Anonymous | reply 79 | July 4, 2024 8:40 PM |
They were never in the top line so that they wouldn't be found right away when no one had any money and they would make no difference to outcome. Defeating their purpose. Until the last couple of years it seemed it was the norm to start at the top of the category and work you way down. Now the contestants jump all over. It seems to totally ruin the flow of the show. That's just me I guess.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | July 4, 2024 9:09 PM |
Everyone put their novelty goofy teeth in this evening.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | July 5, 2024 12:08 AM |
They were never in the top line so that they wouldn't be found right away when no one had any money and they would make no difference to outcome.
When you factor in all of the things that can happen with a Daily Double depending on when they're found, how players run through the board, etc., that makes very little sense to me.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | July 5, 2024 12:34 AM |
It makes no sense to you that Daily Double would be of so much less importance if it was found at the top when everyone had 0 to 800 dollars? As opposed to it being a close match or someone betting it all to get back into the game? Jesus fuck. Stick with Wheel of Fortune.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | July 5, 2024 1:04 AM |
The DD issue is really only confounding when there are, say about 6 possibilities left, and a contestant doesn't search for it. In other words, goes for a category where a DD has already been uncovered or goes for a top line category. Those both happen more than you'd think.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | July 5, 2024 3:14 AM |
It makes no sense to you that Daily Double would be of so much less importance if it was found at the top when everyone had 0 to 800 dollars?
I understand that part of it, but if you're going to follow that logic to its extreme, then the Daily Doubles would only be hidden behind the highest dollar amounts of each category. In which case the contestants in search of the DDs when they wanted to find them would always choose the clues behind the highest amounts whenever they wanted to find the DDs.
And all of that is assuming that contestants are going to run through the categories from the lowest dollar amount to the highest, which is no longer true even if that used to e the case.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | July 5, 2024 3:43 AM |
He sort of looks like that actor on The Equalizer.
Adam something.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | July 5, 2024 6:39 PM |
I think Isaac would look better without the mustache.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | July 5, 2024 6:41 PM |
.....and some better wardrobe.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | July 5, 2024 9:05 PM |
Drew revealed that one of his reactions to winning had to be redone.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | July 5, 2024 9:06 PM |
I guessed Portuguese as well, thinking of the roots of Papiamento.
I know my homies were shouting Bewitched! and Bonanza! along with me.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | July 6, 2024 1:01 AM |
At first I liked the Borg Queen until she confessed to being a vegetarian.
I was ambivalent about Kim Il Jeopardy.
So I stuck with rooting for Isaac.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | July 6, 2024 2:09 AM |
What was FJ?
My stupid local station cut away for some damn weather watch 😡
by Anonymous | reply 93 | July 6, 2024 2:35 AM |
Isaac needs some new shirts.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | July 6, 2024 3:05 AM |
.....or better yet, a complete makeover.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | July 6, 2024 3:18 AM |
Isaac makes me moist - down there.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | July 6, 2024 5:19 AM |
R93, Aruba has 4 national languages. Paiamento is one; what are the other three? (Paraphrasing, of course.) I knew one was Dutch, figured English had to be one of them, and guessed Spanish for the fourth.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | July 6, 2024 7:23 AM |
Cool, thanks, R97.
Wouldn’t have gotten it. 😬
by Anonymous | reply 98 | July 6, 2024 8:03 AM |
Easiest FJ, maybe ever. Madama Butterfly.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | July 9, 2024 3:30 AM |
R93. I spent many Nights there
by Anonymous | reply 100 | July 9, 2024 4:22 AM |
Yes, incredibly obvious Final.
Issac is definitely one of the dorkiest champs we've had on in a long time. But he's a very knowledgeable dork. He sure has a lot to rub in his dad's face now.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | July 9, 2024 5:18 AM |
R101 Definitely dorky. I do find him pretty likable, and with a good sense of humor it seems.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | July 9, 2024 6:00 AM |
I like dorky Isaac more than dorky Drew.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | July 9, 2024 7:46 AM |
I like Isaac's sense of humor, too. Was put off by the gay Indian guy from Edison writing his name in Hindi, which seemed pretenscious. Final so easy I thought maybe, just maybe, they were looking for M Butterfly instead?
by Anonymous | reply 104 | July 9, 2024 12:21 PM |
M. Butterfly is a 1988 stage play by David Henry Hwang, not an opera.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | July 9, 2024 12:37 PM |
That's what I thought but wasn't sure as the Final music ticked down towards an answer.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | July 9, 2024 12:57 PM |
I guessed Ali Baba for final, although I got some they all missed. Happy that mega-nerd Isaac will be in T of C.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | July 10, 2024 1:09 AM |
I thought FJ was easy, if only because I thought of those Sinbad movies (like the 7th Voyage of Sinbad.)
I like that Dorky Isaac [bold]and[/bold] Dorky Drew will be in the ToC since I like them both.
I wouldn't mind Isaac hanging around a little longer since he's a pleasant enough guy.
I was amused that Karan, yesterday's Indian contestant, wrote his name in Hindi - if only because more than a few contestants in the past have used Chinese characters when writing their names.
But as to Stephanie, yesterday's other contestant - I got a kick out of her rolling her eyes each time she guessed a response incorrectly. (That would be the kind of thing my sister would do.)
by Anonymous | reply 108 | July 10, 2024 1:55 AM |
Also guessed Aladdin and thought of Ali Baba as back-up.
Good game tonight. Nice to see some decent competition for a change.
Was it tonight or last night that someone thought Samuel Beckett had joined the French Foreign Legion?
by Anonymous | reply 109 | July 10, 2024 3:54 AM |
Great game. Good to see Issac have some real competition.
I knew the book being referenced in Final was 1001 Nights, but I guessed Ali Baba.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | July 10, 2024 10:25 AM |
I guessed Aladdin, but I knew it wasn't right.
For the life of me, I just couldn't remember Sinbad, even though it was on the tip of my tongue.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | July 10, 2024 6:28 PM |
I thought Sinbad was a black comedian from the ‘90s. I didn’t know the name was pseudonymous.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | July 10, 2024 8:56 PM |
7/10/24 Did Alex just refer to his husband or male partner in his story about meeting while both were in college bands? Together "10-ish" years.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | July 11, 2024 12:13 AM |
Yes! They overcame Big 10 rivalry to find love 💕.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | July 11, 2024 12:16 AM |
He did not know the Nile as the location of the Aswan dam. Bye bye.
by Anonymous | reply 115 | July 11, 2024 12:21 AM |
I came here to post that, R115. Final was easy.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | July 11, 2024 12:59 AM |
FJ was super easy.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | July 11, 2024 1:37 AM |
That obvious Nile miss was tragic.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | July 11, 2024 2:30 PM |
What happened in today’s game? The President was speaking and we didn’t get today’s show.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | July 12, 2024 2:22 AM |
Same question as R119.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | July 12, 2024 2:25 AM |
Tonight’s game.
Watch it soon before it’s deleted.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | July 12, 2024 2:35 AM |
I watched it on YouTube.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | July 12, 2024 3:22 AM |
Just watched it on you tube. Final was obvious (as was Dixville Notch). Actively rooted for Liz to lose.
by Anonymous | reply 123 | July 12, 2024 1:05 PM |
I want the men in jackets and ties again. I also want those silly final jeopardy messages banned. Plus that bring it shit...ugh.
by Anonymous | reply 124 | July 12, 2024 4:52 PM |
The Vegas James craps table motion (betting it all) I can do without.
by Anonymous | reply 125 | July 12, 2024 5:55 PM |
YEAH.. that's the worst. I miss fully developed adults on Jeopardy!
by Anonymous | reply 126 | July 12, 2024 6:26 PM |
Do they do teen or college championships anymore?
by Anonymous | reply 127 | July 12, 2024 6:44 PM |
Final was obvious. I knew about Maria Tallchief, is that particularly gay of me?
by Anonymous | reply 128 | July 13, 2024 12:59 AM |
whoissheba?
God it's like the third contestant wasn't even there. One of the easiest FJ ever.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | July 13, 2024 1:03 AM |
Ashley, we hardly knew ye . . .
by Anonymous | reply 130 | July 13, 2024 2:04 AM |
Misty Copeland on an American coin?? She's good but not that good!
by Anonymous | reply 131 | July 13, 2024 1:56 PM |
I want Isaac inside me - quite deeply. He’s adorable.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | July 13, 2024 2:12 PM |
R132 I sense that Isaac, once the bedroom door closes, is a submissive bottom. Very submissive.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | July 13, 2024 4:50 PM |
R133, We need to see Isaac’s girlfriend who he said was in the audience.
by Anonymous | reply 134 | July 13, 2024 6:06 PM |
As previously posted, that mustache does nothing for Isaac.
He’s not bad looking, just needs to shave it off, get a nice haircut, some contacts and better clothes.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | July 13, 2024 6:08 PM |
Yeah. I hate smart glasses. The glasses probably aren't even prescription.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | July 13, 2024 6:10 PM |
Did you all miss the mention of his beloved girlfriend?
by Anonymous | reply 137 | July 13, 2024 6:46 PM |
R137, R134 didn’t.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | July 13, 2024 6:51 PM |
Yeah because no one ever dabbles with the same sex if they have a girlfriend.
by Anonymous | reply 139 | July 13, 2024 7:02 PM |
R128. A high school friend studied with Maria Tallchief, which is when I first heard of her. She was involved with the corps de ballet at the Chicago Lyric Opera, and my friend danced there while still in high school. Friend later went on to be a soloist with NYC Ballet.
by Anonymous | reply 140 | July 13, 2024 7:54 PM |
How nice for you you.
by Anonymous | reply 141 | July 13, 2024 8:13 PM |
Isaac would probably look like he's 17 if he ditched the glasses and mustache. Of course, some of you would just love that.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | July 13, 2024 11:17 PM |
Couldn't get Final, but I do know about Middlebury, VT and Fort Lee, NJ.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | July 16, 2024 12:59 AM |
Ethel Merman movies, Isaac?
Obviously, he meant Esther Williams.
Why didn’t Ken correct him?
by Anonymous | reply 144 | July 16, 2024 12:59 AM |
Yes! I got FJ.
Performative.
Good game from everyone.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | July 16, 2024 1:28 AM |
I went to Middlebury and somehow knew that there would be a question about it when I saw the category. It’s just sort of “off-the-radar” enough that some people have never heard of it.
My friend (who also went there) and I were both surprised by the current enrollment number which is much higher than it was when we went there.
by Anonymous | reply 146 | July 16, 2024 2:04 AM |
My great aunt was a Middlebury grad 100 years ago, Phi Beta Kappa at that.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | July 16, 2024 2:07 AM |
When will the tears stop?!
by Anonymous | reply 148 | July 17, 2024 12:06 AM |
He had a hot ass but he couldn't last forever.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | July 17, 2024 12:47 AM |
Until they got too big Middlebury was just about the prettiest school in the country. I would have loved to have been a student there in the late 40s to late 50s . It's still pretty but nothing like when I saw it from the way back seat of a station wagon in the 70s.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | July 17, 2024 12:49 AM |
r150, if you'd been a Middlebury student in the late 40s to late 50s, you'd be dead now. Watch what you wish for.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | July 17, 2024 12:53 AM |
I'd be OK with that.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | July 17, 2024 12:54 AM |
I got final as a guess. Did anyone else know Iolanthe?
by Anonymous | reply 153 | July 17, 2024 12:59 AM |
Isaac seems like a good boy. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he and his special lady haven’t gone all the way and are saving it for marriage.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | July 17, 2024 2:35 AM |
I knew Iolanthe! I'm a G&S freak. Didn't know FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | July 17, 2024 3:39 AM |
Timothy Leary was the only 60s psychiatrist I could think, but I didn’t realize he had been in jail.
Guess he turned on, tuned in and dropped out.
Was stunned Leary was correct.
I like Jay, Glad he won.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | July 17, 2024 7:57 AM |
What a bunch of dumb bastards tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | July 18, 2024 12:52 AM |
Only thing I could come up with for Final was T S Eliot (yeah , I know ...)
However, they missed these which I got: Suez Canal, hymnology, Tombstone, Dien Bien Phu, Indus, and lurk.
Jay has definitely "gay voice".
by Anonymous | reply 158 | July 18, 2024 1:00 AM |
I guess if you don't know opera, you don't know opera but my god those were all very easy clues.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | July 18, 2024 1:09 AM |
What the fuck did I just watch?? 15 unanswered clues in the DJ round. Seven in a row!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 160 | July 18, 2024 2:14 AM |
I got the clue immediately just from 1980 National Book Award winner part.
by Anonymous | reply 161 | July 18, 2024 2:15 AM |
Worst episode ever!!
by Anonymous | reply 162 | July 18, 2024 2:18 AM |
I read a lot but didn't get FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | July 18, 2024 3:58 AM |
“Jay has definitely "gay voice".“
Is that why he knew which state Provincetown was in?
by Anonymous | reply 164 | July 18, 2024 5:18 AM |
I got final Jeopardy and it was a miraculous feat of memory on my part. I haven't read Garp since the 90s
by Anonymous | reply 165 | July 18, 2024 5:47 AM |
What a bizarre episode! So many unanswered clues.
Only thing I could think of for Final was the Great Santini, but figured it was wrong
by Anonymous | reply 166 | July 18, 2024 9:05 AM |
Zach held my attention throughout the game.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | July 18, 2024 10:38 AM |
R167, Even after he responded “Hitchcock” in a category requiring the name of a French director?
by Anonymous | reply 168 | July 18, 2024 11:01 AM |
Zach is a fit fat frat boy.
by Anonymous | reply 169 | July 18, 2024 12:27 PM |
Zach and the church lady got off to good starts so I thought there'd be some competition for our champ, but it was not to be.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | July 18, 2024 1:33 PM |
R166, I guessed The Great Santini as well!
by Anonymous | reply 171 | July 18, 2024 2:14 PM |
FJ was very easy if you’re a John Irving fan. They even gave you the first two initials of his name!
by Anonymous | reply 172 | July 18, 2024 2:25 PM |
The only Irving book I've read was [italic]A Son of the Circus[/italic]. Never saw the Garp film.
by Anonymous | reply 173 | July 18, 2024 2:33 PM |
The 1982 film version of “The World According to Garp” is wonderful. A great adaptation of the novel. There are so many good performances.: John Lithgow, Glenn Close (both nominated), Robin Williams, Swoozie Kurtz, Amanda Plummer, Jessica Tandy, Hume Cronyn (who has one of my favorite lines in the film - “You raped a dying man!”).
I bet this is the race that Glenn Close got the closest to winning out of all her nominations actually.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | July 18, 2024 2:43 PM |
R168: He can be forgiven with a little persuasion.
by Anonymous | reply 175 | July 18, 2024 3:34 PM |
Thursday, July 18, 2024:
If "T.S. Garp" didn't do it, tonight's FJ did. Jumping the proverbial shark. Well, it is Shark Week, so....
I believe this "answer" is the nadir of FJ "answers" AND CATEGORY, ever.

Show Biz Marriages
Married since 1977, the year of this band’s 1st album, 2 members referenced another album with their 2023 “Remain In Love” tour
by Anonymous | reply 177 | July 18, 2024 11:06 PM |
R177, I deliberately did not spoil anything.
But whatever.
by Anonymous | reply 178 | July 18, 2024 11:22 PM |
R178, No answer, no spoilage.
by Anonymous | reply 179 | July 18, 2024 11:46 PM |
"Casbah!" I screamed at my TV set.
Though I wasn't around when the film ALGIERS famously paired Hedy Lamarr with Charles Boyer, there were Saturday morning cartoons that always parodied them with Boyer's Pepe Le Moko murmuring "Come wiz me to the Casbah" to Hedy.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | July 19, 2024 12:54 AM |
Easy as fuck questions. Except final. I guessed Blondie. The dude in the middle would have had a runaway victory if he stayed off his buzzer. He had a high total for someone who got so many wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 181 | July 19, 2024 1:04 AM |
Micah billed himself as a Mental Health Crisis Therapist, but to me he appeared more like one of his patients.
by Anonymous | reply 182 | July 19, 2024 1:48 AM |
Tonight's game stunk.
by Anonymous | reply 183 | July 19, 2024 1:49 AM |
Looks like we can pull the plug on the “Is Jay gay?” talk.
His two sons in the audience were hot.
by Anonymous | reply 184 | July 19, 2024 1:50 AM |
Doesn't mean he isn't gay. We can have children now, you know.
by Anonymous | reply 185 | July 19, 2024 2:58 AM |
I thought Micah was having a heart attack. Or maybe a panic attack. He was a good player but I’m amazed he made it all the way to Final.
Had no idea about Final. Talk about obscure!
by Anonymous | reply 186 | July 19, 2024 8:49 AM |
When I heard the FJ Final category was Show Biz Marriages I figured, oh, this is going to be easy, thinking on the lines of Lucy & Desi and Tony & Janet and Liz & whoever. Had I been playing I would have bet all my money, confident that I'd know the answer.
But rock musician marriages?? Ick. WTF cares?
by Anonymous | reply 187 | July 19, 2024 2:47 PM |
EXACTLY, R187!
This type of category and question, for lack of a better term, cheapens "Jeopardy!". I mean, I know there must be contemporary subjects as well as Ancient History, but this FJ was really not designed for intellectuals.
I'd like to have seen James and Crew try it.
by Anonymous | reply 188 | July 19, 2024 3:30 PM |
R188, Some lowly intern probably worked all weekend on that Final Jeopardy.
by Anonymous | reply 189 | July 19, 2024 4:41 PM |
Then there's the easy as pie history questions, like today's.
Can we have some consistency, Jeopardy writers?!
by Anonymous | reply 190 | July 19, 2024 7:40 PM |
FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! FANNY....nobody knew!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 191 | July 20, 2024 12:55 AM |
Okay ... final was a giveaway.
They didn't get the dormouse (French to sleep) pictured in a teapot! Henry VIII and Pope were huge pals: Enter Ann's Boleyn. I'm no film maven and I knew Bergmann. Forty ... quarantine ... one of them should have guessed right.
by Anonymous | reply 192 | July 20, 2024 1:02 AM |
Jay CANNOT be gay if he didn’t know Fanny Brice.
by Anonymous | reply 193 | July 20, 2024 1:37 AM |
And couldn't identify DL Fave Norma Shearer!!! And hubby Irving Thalberg.
by Anonymous | reply 194 | July 20, 2024 1:44 AM |
That was a remarkable comeback by Neilesh after a very shaky start.
by Anonymous | reply 195 | July 20, 2024 1:44 AM |
I wonder if any of the contestants would have been able to respond correctly if asked: "Who did Barbra Streisand portray in Funny Girl? Or if they simply didn't recognize Fanny Brice?
by Anonymous | reply 196 | July 20, 2024 1:48 AM |
Neilesh doesn't look very happy. I hope he finds happiness.
by Anonymous | reply 197 | July 20, 2024 3:36 AM |
I'm glad raj won I like a good comeback. He seems so down though. Like his mom beat him one too many times at the family customer service business.
by Anonymous | reply 198 | July 20, 2024 3:38 AM |
Seems he might be on the spectrum.
by Anonymous | reply 199 | July 20, 2024 3:57 AM |
Nelish definitely seemed to be on the spectrum. And determined to win.
He was down in the red in the first half then made an impressive comeback in the second
Once he figured out how to buzz in, he kept beating the other two, even though he kept answering wrong in the first half.
by Anonymous | reply 200 | July 20, 2024 7:45 AM |
Yeah Nelish played pretty miserably during the first half of the game and I never would have guessed he'd come around and win it.
But he does come across as rather grim and joyless; he's the anti-Jay.
by Anonymous | reply 201 | July 20, 2024 10:54 AM |
I thought he was suffering from stage fright.
by Anonymous | reply 202 | July 20, 2024 12:27 PM |
R196 "Baby Snooks" was a pretty big clue, and after none of them being able to identify Norma Shearer/Irving Thalberg on top of that debacle, all their Hollywood cards are hereby revoked.
by Anonymous | reply 203 | July 20, 2024 4:38 PM |
I thought Baby Snooks was Mary Tyler Moore.
by Anonymous | reply 204 | July 20, 2024 8:00 PM |
I'd never heard of Norma Shearer and her husband.
by Anonymous | reply 205 | July 20, 2024 8:17 PM |
What are you doing here, R205?
by Anonymous | reply 206 | July 20, 2024 8:55 PM |
I had trouble pulling their names together in time, but you've never heard of the Irving Thalberg Award or the movie The Women?
by Anonymous | reply 207 | July 20, 2024 9:23 PM |
I've never seen The Women, would never associate those names with the film. I suppose I've heard of Thalberg vaguely, but not really knowing anything about him. Their are gay guys who aren't film buffs!
by Anonymous | reply 208 | July 20, 2024 9:29 PM |
“Their are gay guys who aren't film buffs!“
Oh, dear.
by Anonymous | reply 209 | July 20, 2024 9:40 PM |
The charcuterie gay and the chubby lady were no competition for our Neilish.
I thought FJ was easy. Also, recognized the dogwood without even thinking of its 3 Os.
by Anonymous | reply 210 | July 23, 2024 12:55 AM |
Neilesh seemed more relaxed for his second appearance.
by Anonymous | reply 211 | July 23, 2024 1:46 PM |
WTF Tim. He’s worse than Thelma Harper. Deer caught in headlights but keeps pressing the damned buzzer.
by Anonymous | reply 212 | July 23, 2024 10:39 PM |
We’ve seen some truly bad players the last month or so, but Tim has to be top 10 (possibly worst) all time. How in the hell did he pass the test?????
by Anonymous | reply 213 | July 23, 2024 10:49 PM |
Got one clue right. One! Because he recognized Ava Duvernay.
by Anonymous | reply 214 | July 23, 2024 10:57 PM |
How did Tim even get into a PhD program?
by Anonymous | reply 215 | July 24, 2024 2:48 AM |
How does Tim not just walk out into traffic every day?
by Anonymous | reply 216 | July 24, 2024 3:12 AM |
I was embarrassed for him. 😖
by Anonymous | reply 217 | July 24, 2024 3:53 AM |
Yikes ! Tim was a deer in the headlights! I felt bad for him.
Meanwhile Lindsey was very impressive . I image she’ll be back for Second Chnances, if they do that again.
I had no idea on Final.
by Anonymous | reply 218 | July 24, 2024 7:23 AM |
Tim was beyond bad. I would be embarrassed to get back home and face my family and friends after such a poor showing.
I thought for sure Lindsey, who played really well, would win.
FJ was easy because I immediately thought of both "Women in Love" and "Sons and Lovers" - thought I blanked out on Lady Chatterley.
by Anonymous | reply 219 | July 24, 2024 12:15 PM |
FJ was cinchy. Couldn’t believe I out-thought the brainiacs! I wonder if Tim had been permitted to dance between rounds if he would’ve loosened up somewhat. Poor sap. At least he was the most dapper contestant.
by Anonymous | reply 220 | July 24, 2024 12:25 PM |

The new champ looks like Sarah Gilbert and Johnny Depp had an ass baby.
by Anonymous | reply 224 | July 25, 2024 1:22 AM |
I really thought that Davey wrote What is TONTO??? as a throwaway joke because he couldn't come up with the right response.
by Anonymous | reply 225 | July 25, 2024 1:25 AM |
I had zero clue.
by Anonymous | reply 226 | July 25, 2024 1:26 AM |
Congrats to Davey.
I also thought his “What is Tonto???” was a throwaway joke. Amazed it was right.
Never heard of Tonto National Forest. Where is it?
Amazed Davey is old enough to know the name Tonto.
by Anonymous | reply 227 | July 25, 2024 8:34 AM |
Gee, Davey, he knew about Tonto National Forest and he’s not even 60 years old or from Arizona.

He won two games about 10 years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 235 | July 25, 2024 11:44 PM |
Yikes! Was Phil one of the worst players ever?
Couldn't believe no one could complete the lyric "How deep is the....ocean?"
by Anonymous | reply 236 | July 26, 2024 12:32 AM |
I did not get Final. But, got these they didn't as obvious to me: Canada (the clue said Western Hemisphere!), parchment paper (I don't even bake myself!), James River (site of ... Jamestown!), finally, the clue was looking for the name of a Philadelphia River related to a state, yet they all missed Delaware River?
by Anonymous | reply 237 | July 26, 2024 1:04 AM |
Poor Phil didn't get the Dickens references AT ALL.
by Anonymous | reply 238 | July 26, 2024 1:16 AM |
Well, it is the last of the season, so they must be scraping the bottom of the barrel for these contestants.
by Anonymous | reply 239 | July 26, 2024 1:23 AM |
FJ was easy. (Harriet Beecher Stowe??)
by Anonymous | reply 240 | July 26, 2024 2:10 AM |
IIRC Harriet Beecher Stowe never sank.

Only one more game before the summer break.
by Anonymous | reply 242 | July 26, 2024 9:57 AM |
So many missed questions that seemed rather easy as Mister Cocoa pointed out above. I got all those he mentioned as well as all the Dickens ones (and I’m not especially a Dickens fan).
Yes. Phil completely missed the point of the Dickens category.
However I missed Final, guessing Calamity Jane.
by Anonymous | reply 243 | July 26, 2024 10:02 AM |

They didn’t know The Carol Burnett Show. 🙄
by Anonymous | reply 245 | July 27, 2024 2:28 AM |
I forgot what one of the Double Jeopardy questions was but it was so easy. I said the answer and laughed because I thought I would be so wrong cause it was too easy. So many of today's questions were so easy.

No, Davey lost. The woman won.
by Anonymous | reply 252 | July 28, 2024 1:04 AM |
Congrats to Rachel for closing out the season as champ. See you in September.
I liked Davey. Sorry to see him go. I doubt if the $31,000 total he made during his three games will qualify him for the ToC.

Jeopardy has finally returned with a new season and Lt. Commander Adam is just the hunky winner we need. Go Navy!
by Anonymous | reply 263 | September 10, 2024 12:57 AM |
Go Navy indeed!
by Anonymous | reply 264 | September 10, 2024 12:59 AM |
I thought he was gay until he mentioned (indirectly) being a dad.
by Anonymous | reply 265 | September 10, 2024 1:01 AM |
The old champ was SO off her game. Hardly recognizable. Adam said he had lots of dad jokes. Don't we all?
by Anonymous | reply 266 | September 10, 2024 2:27 AM |
Adam is a hot dad. Married with children.
by Anonymous | reply 267 | September 10, 2024 2:36 AM |
Adam reminds of all the hot, Navy DILFs of my youth in San Diego. Go, Navy! Go, Adam!

My guess was Madeline Albright.
by Anonymous | reply 269 | September 10, 2024 3:16 PM |
Anyone else think the questions were oddly worded last night. They didn’t have the Jeopardy feel to them.
by Anonymous | reply 270 | September 10, 2024 3:19 PM |
You are correct, R269. Very easy FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 271 | September 10, 2024 3:31 PM |
I missed Monday's return episode due to a power outage in my neighborhood. By the time power was finally restored 12-hours later, Monday's episode has been removed from YouTube. Arggg!!
Then on Tuesday, the post-debate discussion ran long, so when they finally started airing Tuesday's Jeopardy, it was joined in progress on my station in California.
So, I didn't get to see Adam in his glory on Monday, but did see him on Tuesday where he missed all three Daily Doubles, all of which I thought were quite easy. Very cute, but I was turned off once the wife was mentioned.
But Will, the new champ, was handsome and smart. I liked him a lot. Look forward to seeing him tonight.

Adam, Will and Ben - 3 out of 3 good looking contestants so far this week.
by Anonymous | reply 275 | September 12, 2024 10:42 PM |
What’s with Will holding his buzzer so strangely?
by Anonymous | reply 276 | September 13, 2024 3:12 AM |
New champ iz hawt! Thought Lafayette too obvious, so was going with Kościuszko.
by Anonymous | reply 277 | September 13, 2024 5:32 PM |
New champ is a homosexual. Imagine that!

by Anonymous | reply 280 | September 14, 2024 1:10 AM |
Apparently not, R278. That's A LOT of gay voice for a straight guy.
by Anonymous | reply 281 | September 14, 2024 11:33 AM |
Same with the last champ. He has a wife??
by Anonymous | reply 282 | September 14, 2024 2:59 PM |
So yesterdays game was pretty good.
These 3 dudes aren’t lighting up the night. Sort of dumb. All three of them, especially in the beginning.

Is there another thread?

This is still the official DL Jeopardy! thread for discussing each day's game.
However, no one seems to feel compelled to post much of anything.
So far, I'm fairly unimpressed with the games and the contestants. Others apparently feel the same way given the dearth of posts since the new season began.
by Anonymous | reply 285 | September 19, 2024 8:26 PM |
Ingredients to the silence: 1) the summer hiatus, 2) really mediocre contestants since the new season opened, 3) the election for many is all absorbing

I know you guys are losing your collective minds over Father Steve
by Anonymous | reply 287 | September 20, 2024 12:08 AM |
Father Steve, I have a confession. I’ve been having impure thoughts- about you!
by Anonymous | reply 288 | September 20, 2024 12:36 AM |
Johnny Gilbert drives everyone away. He’s annoying as fuck!
by Anonymous | reply 289 | September 20, 2024 12:38 AM |
The pretty ones rarely win.
by Anonymous | reply 290 | September 20, 2024 1:10 AM |
R287: headed to this thread as soon as I saw him. ☺️
by Anonymous | reply 291 | September 20, 2024 3:16 AM |
Has SayUncle contacted Father Steve yet to star in the studio's "Yes Father" series?
by Anonymous | reply 292 | September 20, 2024 3:28 AM |
No one posts here for days.
Then Fr. Steve shows up - and just like that, posters' peckers perk up again across the land.
R290 - ain't it the truth!
by Anonymous | reply 293 | September 20, 2024 4:40 AM |
Ken was certainly flirting with him. Gave Father Steve far more attention than the other two contestants.
by Anonymous | reply 294 | September 20, 2024 10:52 PM |
Today's Jeopardy had the easiest questions.
by Anonymous | reply 295 | September 21, 2024 2:19 AM |
That has got to be the most plain, non-descript person ever.
But I’m glad she won 😀
The middle dude was good but, alas, he fell apart at the end.
by Anonymous | reply 296 | September 21, 2024 2:42 AM |
Is "lantern jaw" applicable for the current champion?
by Anonymous | reply 297 | September 21, 2024 6:47 PM |
Ken was certainly flirting with him
Tell me, what color is the sky in your world?
by Anonymous | reply 298 | September 21, 2024 6:48 PM |
I really really can't stand the woman who won. I like her describing for school is diverse there's a code word for teaching in the ghetto I guess she thinks she's cut right out of the mold of Michelle Pfeiffer in dangerous minds.
Also I'm pretty sure the only reason her students were in shock at her telling them that she doesn't eat meat is that it wasn't the first thing out of her mouth.
by Anonymous | reply 299 | September 21, 2024 7:22 PM |

When I saw her in that outfit on Friday, I thought the only thing missing from it was an accompanying Amish bonnet.

Quentin Tarantino's sister.
by Anonymous | reply 301 | September 23, 2024 2:15 AM |
New champion, Mr. Erb, the puzzle designer from Seattle, has a really strong-featured face (handsome by most definitions), seemed smart and strategic... and an energy that he might have some disturbing secrets you really don't want to know about.
The strong science background - I predict he's champion for at least a week.
by Anonymous | reply 302 | September 24, 2024 4:39 PM |
Does current champ David remind anyone of Clint Eastwood?
by Anonymous | reply 303 | September 25, 2024 3:25 AM |
I don’t know about Eastwood, but his handwriting is barely legible chicken scratches. No, I agree with the Vulcans. Barely legible handwriting is a form of insanity. Good on the Canadian to know who Dianne Frankenstein was.
by Anonymous | reply 304 | September 25, 2024 3:50 AM |
Fascinating that he's married to the author of LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY.
by Anonymous | reply 305 | September 25, 2024 1:16 PM |
Is Drew a queer?
by Anonymous | reply 307 | September 26, 2024 7:39 AM |
Drew, we hardly knew ye.....
by Anonymous | reply 308 | September 26, 2024 3:05 PM |
Drew is a DC gay. I recognize a lot of his friends in the link at R306.
You could see his hard nipples through his shirt last night. Sexy guy.
This new champ really has staying power but last night revealed that there are vulnerabilities.
by Anonymous | reply 309 | September 26, 2024 3:32 PM |
Poor Drew. I was sorry to see him go because he seemed really nice and he certainly was an attractive guy.
Like R303, I think David reminds me a little of a younger Clint Eastwood. But there's something about his smile and the fact that his eyebrows are a little darker than his hair that makes him comes across as - I don't know - sinister is way too strong a word. But he seems like somebody you wouldn't was to mess with.
by Anonymous | reply 310 | September 26, 2024 7:04 PM |
"wouldn't want to mess with" was what I meant above.
by Anonymous | reply 311 | September 26, 2024 7:06 PM |
Drew should certainly be Second Chances material.
by Anonymous | reply 312 | September 26, 2024 8:04 PM |
Such an easy peasy final and they all friggin’ missed it? Unbelievable! Didn’t they watch the Ann Jillian made for TV biopic?
by Anonymous | reply 313 | September 27, 2024 12:30 AM |
Drew certainly seems to pursue a clothing optional way of life.
by Anonymous | reply 314 | September 27, 2024 12:34 AM |
It just came on 10 minutes late due to a CBS Special Report on Hurricane Helene.
by Anonymous | reply 315 | September 27, 2024 12:39 AM |
I’m just catching up on the weeks worth of shows.
The Eastwood-looking dude was great but he sort of petered out.
The mousy girl was a surprise. So was the Friday winner.
Good games all week. Mostly competitive.
Good stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 316 | September 28, 2024 3:59 AM |
Drew looks like Hermey from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
by Anonymous | reply 317 | September 29, 2024 8:54 PM |
Super easy Final.
Was Mike doing a shout out to his boyfriend/husband with his “❤️ Dave ❤️” in his Final answer?
by Anonymous | reply 318 | October 2, 2024 9:46 AM |
So, is this the current nightly Jeopardy thread?
I've missed the show, couldn't bear to watch the reruns.
by Anonymous | reply 319 | October 2, 2024 8:43 PM |
Goodness! Just started watching the show again and according to this thread I missed quite a few hotties.
by Anonymous | reply 320 | October 2, 2024 8:46 PM |
Ugg, I was hoping Scott would knock out Ryan. Maybe tomorrow.
Had no idea on Final. but in hindsight. the answer was so obvious.
by Anonymous | reply 321 | October 3, 2024 9:45 AM |
Ryan is a boring champ. I was also hoping to see him go.
by Anonymous | reply 322 | October 3, 2024 2:08 PM |
Ryan is boring and a bit smug. Not a great combination. I too was rooting for Scott to defeat him.
by Anonymous | reply 323 | October 3, 2024 6:44 PM |
Adam, the DLF in the center, just seemed to lose steam midway. Too bad.
by Anonymous | reply 324 | October 4, 2024 2:53 AM |
I was wild for DILFy Adam and thought he was gonna kill Ryan but that missed DD was the end of him. I kept screaming at my screen: JACOB'S LADDER!!!! It seemed easy to me.
by Anonymous | reply 325 | October 4, 2024 3:35 AM |
Disappointing Adam lost his mojo after that DD. Was hoping he’d knock off Ryan.
Super easy Final.
by Anonymous | reply 326 | October 4, 2024 9:32 AM |
I was rooting for cute Mark and thrilled that he won. He seemed very dear and nervous. I'd love to comfort him. Nevertheless, couldn't believe that he didn't know Hillary Clinton was the obvious response to his first DD. I thought for sure after that he was going to lose.
Ryan seemed very low energy tonight. Well, actually he seemed very low energy every night. At least we won't have to see him return for ToC.
I liked the sweet lady from Williamstown, would have even been happy if she beat Ryan.
by Anonymous | reply 327 | October 5, 2024 2:56 AM |
HILARY CLINTON!!!
by Anonymous | reply 328 | October 5, 2024 3:22 AM |
Great game!! Best game of the season so far. Games like this are why I love Jeopardy.
Go Mark!!! I instantly liked him. Impressive comeback after missing a very obvious DD about Hilary Clinton. Guess early jitters were to blame. I chuckled when he knew all the British monarchs except the easiest one - Victoria.
I also liked Anne and would have been happy to see her win. Anybody who knocked out Ryan would have been fine with me!
How weird. Out of the blue, the 70s band Uriah Heep which was named for the Dickens character, popped in my head this afternoon. And here it was an answer in Jeopardy tonite.
Final seemed rather obvious but oddly Mark was the only one who got Robinson Crusoe.
by Anonymous | reply 329 | October 5, 2024 10:48 AM |
I thought it might be Captain Ahab. My hubby guessed Friday, so he was closer.
And yes, also thought Queen Victoria was the easiest monarch to put into American history. Fun category, I got most of them.
by Anonymous | reply 330 | October 5, 2024 1:52 PM |
I couldn't think of Final Jeopardy today, for some reason, although now it seems obvious. Cute queen on today's show.
by Anonymous | reply 331 | October 8, 2024 1:39 AM |
All I could think of was Crisco. I wonder if I'd have had the nerve to respond with it.
Yay Mark! I don't think he's really the strongest player, but I do hope he sticks around for a while. Handsome dude. There's something about his manner that's very appealing.
Was that "cute queen" once a lady? My husband and I couldn't decide.
by Anonymous | reply 332 | October 8, 2024 2:00 AM |
Weird game. So many unanswered questions.
But Mark proved to be quite competent and got a good lead early on. Young queen Daniel/Elton was cute but apparently nervous and/or not fast enough on the buzzer.
I was stumped on Final. And it's bizarre that I was stumped because I recently watched The History Channel's "Foods That Built America" episode devoted to Coca Cola and Pepsi, so Coke should have been in the forefront of my mind.
by Anonymous | reply 333 | October 8, 2024 6:18 AM |
I couldn't think of Coca Cola either and guessed Castle & Cooke, since I knew they started in the 19th century, but figured it was wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 334 | October 8, 2024 6:48 AM |
got it in the nick of time when I concentrated on the swirl.
by Anonymous | reply 335 | October 8, 2024 12:48 PM |
I thought FJ was one of the easiest in months. Chanel? In 1886?? Kids these days.
by Anonymous | reply 336 | October 8, 2024 5:36 PM |
Mark is the kind of shy guy you went to college with, purportedly straight, who you just knew you get into your bed with enough beers.
It never happened.
by Anonymous | reply 337 | October 8, 2024 10:18 PM |
I take issue. A "Seinfeld character" is not the actor who played him. That response was wrong. This is a no spoilers post!
by Anonymous | reply 338 | October 9, 2024 12:50 AM |
Good game. I liked Gino. Would have been fine if he had won, but Mark's luck continues.
I didn't have the slightest idea on Final.
by Anonymous | reply 339 | October 9, 2024 6:02 AM |
I knew Final immediately, because of all the coverage about you know who staying or leaving.
by Anonymous | reply 340 | October 9, 2024 6:39 AM |
Go Mark! Hope he gets his fifth win tomorrow.
I instantly knew Final, but apparently no one else knew The Pathfinder.
by Anonymous | reply 341 | October 10, 2024 10:05 AM |
Very few folks read Fenimore Cooper these days and probably haven't ever. I don't read him now, but recalled an American lit course I had in college and got it right.
by Anonymous | reply 342 | October 10, 2024 1:05 PM |
I thought Final was The Deerslayer.
But something about how the clue was phrased made me think it was a Native American word, so I wasn't sure. And then was surprised by The Pathfinder.
Go Mark! Why do we never get much about his "romantic" life in his interviews?
by Anonymous | reply 343 | October 10, 2024 2:12 PM |
Another great game. I love it when there's some serious competition.
Yeah, Mark! You got that ticket to the Tournament. And doing that DD for everything was sure gutsy.
Final took me a moment to figure out that it was GoodFellows.
by Anonymous | reply 344 | October 11, 2024 6:36 AM |
Would "Goodfellows" have been allowed as a correct response?
by Anonymous | reply 345 | October 11, 2024 1:11 PM |
Absolutely not, R345.
by Anonymous | reply 346 | October 11, 2024 3:52 PM |
There is something just so dreamy about champ Mark. I can't quite put my finger on it.
by Anonymous | reply 347 | October 11, 2024 3:56 PM |
Mark wants to open an Irish Pub in Mexico City. Sorry homos but this seems like something a straight buy would do.
by Anonymous | reply 348 | October 11, 2024 5:23 PM |
*guy
by Anonymous | reply 349 | October 11, 2024 5:24 PM |
Glad to see Mark is now the first official ToC player. I wonder how much longer his winning streak will continue.
We already know the guy is straight because he mentioned his wife a couple of episodes ago.
That doesn't change the fact that I think he's a really good looking guy. And I like the fact that he has a low key personality, which adds to his attractiveness.
BTW I'm surprised no one here mentioned Colleen from the other day when she was described as "a girl between gigs."
by Anonymous | reply 350 | October 11, 2024 8:27 PM |
Hello Eamonn!
by Anonymous | reply 351 | October 11, 2024 8:32 PM |
The asshole Johnny Gilbert can die now. Please & Thank you!
by Anonymous | reply 352 | October 11, 2024 9:35 PM |
When did Mark ever mention a wife? I don't remember that.
by Anonymous | reply 353 | October 12, 2024 12:14 AM |
Clearly, Mark was ready to get back to Mexico City tonight, with or without his wife.
by Anonymous | reply 354 | October 12, 2024 12:32 AM |
Bye bye Mark. You were clearly ready to go tonight. But you earned your ToC ticket, so look forward to seeing you again.
Eamonn was a good player. Wonder how far he will go.
I really had no idea on Final.
by Anonymous | reply 355 | October 12, 2024 6:17 AM |
Ugh, playwrights was not a good category, for any body.
The foreign film titles sucked as well.
Edward Bear?? Winnie the Pooh?? I had no idea.
That librarian was embarrassing .
The FJ of Beethoven was pretty easy.
That Coca Cola FJ was difficult.
Good games these past two weeks. Somewhat competitive.
Too bad the guy lost, he did qualify for the tournament, though.
by Anonymous | reply 356 | October 12, 2024 11:55 PM |
Everyone loves Eammon now, man.

Had no idea of final, but knew these answers they didn't: Spinning Jenny, wild rice, oasis, Amman, and Japan.
by Anonymous | reply 360 | October 15, 2024 1:07 AM |
Will Eamonn ever relax?
by Anonymous | reply 361 | October 15, 2024 1:42 AM |
Apparently, they rebuilt the stage so Ken could go chat with the contestants in front of their podiums. Ken started doing with Monday’s show
Previously, there was a step in front of the podium. Wonder why they made that change 5 weeks into the season.
I could picture the character being referenced in Final, but couldn’t think of the character’s name or the chain.
by Anonymous | reply 362 | October 15, 2024 11:48 AM |
Is that a new thing, r362? Or something that was stopped during Covid?
by Anonymous | reply 363 | October 15, 2024 1:45 PM |
What a cavalcade of autistic awkward contestants today. All gay or trans?
by Anonymous | reply 364 | October 15, 2024 10:45 PM |
Is Eamonn gay? I can't tell from that hiking group photo upthread.
by Anonymous | reply 365 | October 15, 2024 11:26 PM |
Why was Zoe sitting down?
They were all nerdy.
Had no idea about FJ.
Good game tho.
by Anonymous | reply 366 | October 16, 2024 3:40 AM |
God I couldn't stand the two.challengers tonight..son damn irritating. Stop with the aspies.
by Anonymous | reply 367 | October 16, 2024 4:37 AM |
The three nerds were all so dear I was rooting for all of them.
by Anonymous | reply 368 | October 16, 2024 5:35 PM |

Two words: porn stache
by Anonymous | reply 372 | October 18, 2024 1:01 AM |
CANNOT believe the pornstache bet all his dough on that DD so unnecessarily. He deserved to lose.
by Anonymous | reply 373 | October 18, 2024 1:15 AM |
The cute champ is growing on me.
by Anonymous | reply 374 | October 18, 2024 2:07 AM |
What test did Angel pass? Color inside the lines?
by Anonymous | reply 375 | October 18, 2024 2:11 AM |
Wow she sure was pitiful. And to top it off, her outfit was absolutely hideous.
Porn Stache was crazy to bet everything on the DD given how close his score was to the champ's.
Initially I thought the champ was a bit much with the overly enthusiastic fist pumping on his first day, but he's toned it down a wee bit.
by Anonymous | reply 376 | October 18, 2024 5:24 AM |
And PS really should have been able to come up with Penelope.
by Anonymous | reply 377 | October 18, 2024 12:47 PM |
Yeah, Penelope was a gimme for me just from knowing a wee bit about The Odyssey.
Was Porn Stache gay? Thought so but his patchwork shirt confused me.
by Anonymous | reply 378 | October 18, 2024 1:43 PM |
Agreed, Penelope was one I knew right away.
The shirt made him look "gay(er)" to me.
by Anonymous | reply 379 | October 18, 2024 4:44 PM |
It must have been a real embarrassment to have shouted out "Bring on the money!" (or whatever he said) and then flop so badly.

I like Ken's ensemble.
by Anonymous | reply 388 | October 22, 2024 12:12 AM |
I wasn’t expecting the purple enamel fingernails on Marcus, and Tristan’s rings just reminded me of Maggie’s horrible demise on “Falcon Crest”. Please, stay outta the pool! FJ was ridiculously easy for any Catholic worth the shake in their salt.
by Anonymous | reply 389 | October 22, 2024 12:40 AM |
Marcus was a "they"? Contestants blew many answers they should've known.
Non-Catholic, but got Final fairly easily.
by Anonymous | reply 390 | October 22, 2024 12:59 AM |
I'm glad the weird want to be queenie guy lost but the new guy has a weird face. Like I'm first glance straight on from a bit of a distance he looks kind of cute but the second his mouth moves or he turns his head he looks like some sort of weird mutant.
by Anonymous | reply 391 | October 23, 2024 2:01 AM |
What a fucking idiotic bet by the woman. She loses whether she gets FJ right or wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 392 | October 23, 2024 4:04 AM |
I always hate when a winner folds their hands in prayer and then look to heaven. Please. The lord wanted you to win?

NuChamp reminds me of a young Ken Jennings - not as smart, obviously.
by Anonymous | reply 394 | October 23, 2024 7:39 PM |
OMG!!!! Thurman Merman is on Jeopardy!!!!
The kid from Bad Santa. It’s him, seriously!
by Anonymous | reply 395 | October 23, 2024 10:08 PM |
Guessed final correctly, the poor girl was just SAD!
by Anonymous | reply 397 | October 24, 2024 1:05 AM |
Seemed like another Final Jeopardy giveaway, if one knows anything about Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, Lutheran, etc. faiths, and yet ....
by Anonymous | reply 398 | October 24, 2024 1:45 AM |
FJ was easy tonight - in contrast to the other day, when that faith-related FJ had me totally stumped.
R391 - I think the reason the champ may seem a little odd is because he barely has lips and his eyes seem like they're set back more than the average guy's.
But I find him more than pleasant enough and I wouldn't mind him hanging around a bit longer.
by Anonymous | reply 399 | October 24, 2024 2:20 AM |
Sophia seemed like she might come for the win but she was just flopping left and right and was all over the place. She seemed really nice but I felt bad for her at the end. She was lucky to even make it to final.
I found all three of them missing lots of very easy questions. Not a great trio.
by Anonymous | reply 400 | October 24, 2024 3:01 AM |
Yeah, lots of missed easy questions tonight. Not a fun show.
by Anonymous | reply 401 | October 24, 2024 3:38 AM |
Definitely not a fun show. One of the worst I've seen in ages. Many easy questions missed.
Brett stayed in the red until the very end and then only made it to $0. Sophia was all over the place. Had almost $10,000 and then was down to $800.
Will was slow and steady, but at least he build up his cash and kept his cash.
I had no idea on Final, but religious holidays would never be an area of expertise for me.
by Anonymous | reply 402 | October 24, 2024 6:07 AM |
In general, religious/bible questions need to be phased out or at least cut back. There are far too many.

Dan's earrings should only be worn with a caftan.
by Anonymous | reply 405 | October 25, 2024 12:09 AM |
Dan was really handsome but those earrings were an instant dick-wilter for me. The contrast was too stark and disorienting.
The schlubby one-day recent champ had a very long earring like that in one ear.
Someone should come on with the earring that Cher wore when she won the Oscar.
by Anonymous | reply 406 | October 25, 2024 1:49 AM |
Finally, a good game tonight even if the outcome was unexpected. To me, anyway; I thought the lady would win.
by Anonymous | reply 407 | October 25, 2024 2:34 AM |
Shame that handsome Dan added those drop earrings. If he'd wanted to make a point he could have just mentioned his husband or his fuck buddy in the interview.
by Anonymous | reply 408 | October 25, 2024 3:24 AM |
I think Dan from Chicago is the Wrigleyville cumdump.
by Anonymous | reply 409 | October 25, 2024 4:13 AM |
I've never seen a picture of Diane Arbus, that I'm aware of, but that photo couldn't have been anyone but Diane Arbus.
by Anonymous | reply 410 | October 25, 2024 4:32 AM |
Really good game. So much better than last night's disaster of a game.
For a while, I thought Dan was going to win. Yes, his drop earnings were a poor choice, but he was cute.
Bravo to Will for pulling off a third win.
I knew what Final was asking for but blanked on the name of the song.
by Anonymous | reply 411 | October 25, 2024 6:23 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 412 | October 26, 2024 2:34 PM |

How many Broadway musicals are set in Nazi Germany?
by Anonymous | reply 419 | October 29, 2024 3:05 AM |
2? The Producers and this one? 🤷🏻♀️
by Anonymous | reply 420 | October 29, 2024 3:13 AM |
I couldn't think of the name of the club either.
by Anonymous | reply 421 | October 29, 2024 4:43 AM |
I knew it was Cabaret, but didn’t remember the name of the club either.
by Anonymous | reply 422 | October 29, 2024 9:49 AM |
Who won tonight?
I opted for Kamala at the Ellipse. No regrets.
by Anonymous | reply 423 | October 30, 2024 2:58 AM |
A new champion who almost blew it because he kept forgetting to answer in the form of a question.
by Anonymous | reply 424 | October 30, 2024 8:50 AM |
What a bad game after such a good game yesterday. So many unanswered clues!
by Anonymous | reply 425 | October 30, 2024 9:40 AM |
Yeah, the new champ, who graduated college at age 15, blew a Double Jeopardy and lost the $11,600 he'd have had if he had phrased his correct answer in the form of a question. He'll be back today and won't make that mistake again.
by Anonymous | reply 426 | October 30, 2024 2:39 PM |
15 y/o grad defeated by nerdy suit guy. Yay!
Did not come up with final, however.
by Anonymous | reply 427 | October 31, 2024 12:59 AM |
I thought the final was pretty easy. The only other thing that even occurred to me was Faberge eggs and I knew the dates were incorrect for that.
by Anonymous | reply 428 | October 31, 2024 2:06 AM |
I also thought of Faberge eggs because the term "artifact" made me think of something artsy. I knew it was wrong but, you know, you get an image of one response and then it blocks your brain from thinking of anything else.
Happy for the new champ but I'm guessing he'll be gone in another game or two.
by Anonymous | reply 429 | October 31, 2024 2:12 AM |
R429. Artifacts aren't artsy. Plenty of clues: the date, Mainz, the multiple copies. Like the Kit Kat Klub, husband and I looked at each other and said, Guttenberg Bible. Duh.
by Anonymous | reply 430 | October 31, 2024 3:19 AM |
As I said, r430, I knew it was wrong. Btw, Kit Kat Klub was also an easy one for me.
by Anonymous | reply 431 | October 31, 2024 3:23 AM |
Is Steve Gutenberg a direct descendant of this marvelous Bible manufacturer? Makes you wonder if his ancestor was a cutie patootie.
by Anonymous | reply 432 | October 31, 2024 3:40 AM |
I thought about the Faberge eggs also but then thought about the year and thought it was too far in the past for them.
by Anonymous | reply 433 | October 31, 2024 6:04 AM |
The Producers does not take place in Nazi Germany.
by Anonymous | reply 434 | October 31, 2024 5:21 PM |
The Sound of Music takes place in Nazi Austria.
by Anonymous | reply 435 | October 31, 2024 8:16 PM |
Hermit crab????
The cute champ deserved to lose. FJ was so easy.
by Anonymous | reply 436 | November 1, 2024 12:29 AM |
Doesn't everyone know Lake Tonle Sap is in Cambodia? (I did, they didn't)
I wasn't certain, but armadillo was all I could think of for a final guess. Preferred ponytail new champ over the lady.
by Anonymous | reply 437 | November 1, 2024 1:02 AM |
What other animal has rabbit-like ears and a hide that could be described as armor? Armadillo was the ONLY appropriate response.
by Anonymous | reply 438 | November 1, 2024 1:13 AM |
Final Jeopardy seemed like a $200 question from a Teen Tournament in the category "A is for Animal"
by Anonymous | reply 439 | November 1, 2024 1:58 AM |
Pony-tail guy is like someone your sister used to date until he decided he'd move to Idaho and go off the grid. Smart but not sexy enough to stick with.
by Anonymous | reply 440 | November 1, 2024 4:48 AM |
Great game, but Final seemed far too easy.
by Anonymous | reply 441 | November 1, 2024 10:18 AM |
Outgoing champ can return his ill-fitting suits to his father or maybe he was dressed as David Bryne from Talking Heads for Halloween. Ponytail guy seems well versed in a lot of subjects.
by Anonymous | reply 442 | November 1, 2024 2:21 PM |
Outgoing champ was very cute. Just in desperate need of some good styling and a little confidence.
by Anonymous | reply 443 | November 1, 2024 3:03 PM |
How Green Was My Valley? WTF?
by Anonymous | reply 444 | November 2, 2024 4:26 AM |
I immediately thought of Mutiny on the Bounty but the volcano in the clue did give me pause as I didn't remember a volcano figuring into the story. I also thought of John Ford's film The Hurricane, I think it's called, but then a hurricane is not a volcano.
Nevertheless, How Green Was My Valley, twice yet....wtf?
by Anonymous | reply 445 | November 2, 2024 2:07 PM |
I didn't remember a volcano figuring into the story.
The named volcano, "Tofua" didn't figure into the 1935 film. You'd have to know the location of the actual mutiny, which happened in that vicinity of the Pacific.
In real life, Tofua is the first place where Bligh and his loyalists landed to get provisions, They were there about five days before the natives turned against them and kicked them off by launching stones at them.
But it's doubtful many people know this, and that stop isn't covered in the film at all. We just see Bligh sailing away from the Bounty. There's some discussion about food and water; but soon after, he's writing in his journal that they've already been at sea 27 days.
If Jeopardy wanted to indicate an area near where the event took place, perhaps they should have just said "near Tonga." I'm guessing that would have been more helpful than Tofua or adding anything about a volcano to the clue.

Gird your loins, gentleman, for Brian Frey. Dear lord.
by Anonymous | reply 447 | November 5, 2024 1:15 AM |
Poor Brian, nice guy who tries too hard.
Final was easy.
Niagara Falls, banana pudding, and The Tempest seemed obvious to me.
by Anonymous | reply 448 | November 5, 2024 1:19 AM |
Agreed. Black Beauty was a ridiculous answer.
by Anonymous | reply 449 | November 5, 2024 1:26 AM |
I missed it, what was the FJ question?
by Anonymous | reply 450 | November 5, 2024 1:32 AM |
I feel badly for these big personality contestants that don’t even end up winning one game. There are more appropriate places to make a colorful fool of oneself.
Who were The Three Musketeers.

My mom said the bow tie was bigger than his head. 😛
I liked him, though.
by Anonymous | reply 452 | November 5, 2024 2:32 AM |
Why don’t women seem to do well on this show? Not being sexist. Maybe there is psychology at play. Women are brow beaten into being subservient and maybe subconsciously “let” the guys win. I do t know. But there is something to this.
by Anonymous | reply 453 | November 5, 2024 7:56 AM |
Yeah the bow tie guy was also taking up valuable playing time with his antics.
by Anonymous | reply 454 | November 5, 2024 9:38 AM |
I missed the jackass comment. What a maroon.

by Anonymous | reply 457 | November 7, 2024 2:21 AM |
No, there was the handsome brunette guy a couple of months ago. Spacing on his name already.....
by Anonymous | reply 458 | November 7, 2024 2:23 AM |
The Hawaiian dude was pretty cute. Shame he didn’t win.
by Anonymous | reply 459 | November 7, 2024 2:31 AM |
Great game tonight with lots of ups and downs including FJ. I wasn't crazy for any of the contestants but happy with the winner.
by Anonymous | reply 460 | November 8, 2024 12:29 AM |
Yes, very good game. Really enjoyed it.
Congrats to Susan. Now she'll have to do her dance at the start of Double Jeopardy for the remainder of her run.
I had no idea on Final.

by Anonymous | reply 463 | November 9, 2024 1:44 AM |
I knew FJ as well.
Good game tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 464 | November 9, 2024 4:04 AM |
It was a good game, all three had had high scores.
by Anonymous | reply 465 | November 9, 2024 4:12 AM |
You know its a good game when all three have five figures going into Final.
I knew Fina as welll, but likely would have spelled the name wrong.

Does Rachel have early onset cerebral palsy? I might hit her with a shovel and see if she stops with all those jerky head movements.

Joey reminded me of a younger, happier Michael Corleone. Same style of dress as well.
Had no idea about FJ.
I did run the Mexican state capitals category. 😛
by Anonymous | reply 468 | November 12, 2024 1:29 AM |
I think Joey’s wife is in for a heartbeat within a few years when Joey’s eye veers towards Troy the theater’s new stagehand. .
by Anonymous | reply 469 | November 12, 2024 2:03 AM |
And I thought FJ was easy and rather obvious. Surprised that even the new champ didn't get it. Not crazy about him, hope he doesn't last long.
by Anonymous | reply 470 | November 12, 2024 2:25 AM |
The new champ just screams homo.
by Anonymous | reply 471 | November 12, 2024 3:17 AM |
The bald Limey erstwhile dog groomer was pretty attractive by J! standards. I couldn’t tell if he was gay or just British. In any event, he would be a high scorer at beer bust at Green Lantern.
by Anonymous | reply 472 | November 12, 2024 3:59 AM |
Joey has Joker lips to me. Didn't know final, but got several they missed.
by Anonymous | reply 473 | November 12, 2024 11:51 AM |
That final was pretty asinine.

I hate the stupid word puzzle categories.
by Anonymous | reply 475 | November 13, 2024 12:28 AM |
Joey has Lego hair.
by Anonymous | reply 476 | November 13, 2024 2:09 AM |
I was glad to see the other 2 contestants make Joey work for his win tonight.
FJ was ridiculously easy (as were all the DDs), but I do wonder if the bow-tied guy really should have scored second place with only Sancho Panza's first name in his response.
by Anonymous | reply 477 | November 13, 2024 3:51 AM |
My freaking local channel went tits up for the first 20 minutes of the show.
So I only saw the damn FJ, no idea 🤷🏻♀️.

They accept “What Highland”? Alex is rolling over.
by Anonymous | reply 479 | November 14, 2024 12:59 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 480 | November 14, 2024 1:33 AM |

Joey is married to a woman????? Wow. Does she know?
by Anonymous | reply 482 | November 14, 2024 4:40 AM |
My favorite movie is "Waiting for Guffman"!
by Anonymous | reply 483 | November 14, 2024 4:52 PM |
R479, yes, especially in light of the judges not accepting "Icapod Crane" as an answer to an earlier question. (Which I agree with. I don't think "What Highland" should have been accepted either.)
by Anonymous | reply 484 | November 14, 2024 9:15 PM |
But they accepted Sancho without the Panza??
There are many Sanchos out there, you know.
by Anonymous | reply 485 | November 14, 2024 10:09 PM |
Steven's reliance on fashion designers seemed like a classic case of "Tell me, you're gay without explicitly saying so."
Happy with the new champ defeating old one.
by Anonymous | reply 486 | November 15, 2024 1:01 AM |
Damn, I thought the Cowboys.
by Anonymous | reply 487 | November 15, 2024 1:28 AM |
I was rooting for our Steven! He seemed like a swell gay....I mean, guy.
Both he and the new champ were so modest on their DD wagers.
by Anonymous | reply 488 | November 15, 2024 2:07 AM |
I thought the FJ clue abundantly hinted at the Saints.
by Anonymous | reply 489 | November 15, 2024 1:47 PM |
Anyone Catholic, Anglican, etc. would definitely think Saints.
by Anonymous | reply 490 | November 15, 2024 10:55 PM |
Several Catholic-centric Final Jeopardy clues lately. Tonight’s FJ was so easy. When did people stop learning about the 1940s?
by Anonymous | reply 491 | November 15, 2024 11:33 PM |
Not easy if you're not Catholic or even Christian.
by Anonymous | reply 492 | November 15, 2024 11:37 PM |
Nope, not at all, R490.
Had no clue about tonight’s FJ.

R493 You're Catholic and don't know what November 1st is?

Though FJ was very hard tonight, and I didn't know it, the rest of game seemed quite easy. I was good on lots of categories. Almost made me feel I could compete.
by Anonymous | reply 496 | November 16, 2024 3:42 AM |
I live in Long Beach, CA where the answer to tonight's FJ was located for many years. I got to see it up close a few times. It was definitely neat.
by Anonymous | reply 497 | November 16, 2024 4:06 AM |
R497 I'm also from Southern California and knew the answer pretty quickly ... plus it was the only thing I could think of. Anything Hughes Aircraft related got a lot of press.

What in the Millennial Researcher hell? I couldn’t stop laughing.

First a reference to the Drake Feuds.

by Anonymous | reply 502 | November 19, 2024 7:43 AM |
Yes, good game.
I was rooting for Janelle, but glad Paul came back from his slow start, even getting all three DDs correct.
Final seemed obvious, but only Janelle got it.
by Anonymous | reply 503 | November 19, 2024 10:12 AM |
I also thought FJ was easy. Very surprised the champ didn't get it.
WTF was "Hayes?" Mrs. Rutherford B Hayes? Helen Hayes?
by Anonymous | reply 504 | November 19, 2024 2:12 PM |
I got it correct at the time but I already forgot what FJ was last night. Refresh?

Carry Nation.

by Anonymous | reply 512 | November 20, 2024 1:55 AM |
Also glad the lady won. She has an odd hesitancy about her that always made me think she was groping for a response she wouldn't get, but then she did. Fun watching her.
by Anonymous | reply 513 | November 20, 2024 2:34 AM |
I was terrified that the show would end with an “ in memoriam” for stage 4 Chris. My heart couldn’t take another Cindy Stowell.
by Anonymous | reply 514 | November 20, 2024 11:17 PM |
Tonight's show was very hard for me, barely knew anything about most of the categories, much less the correct responses. But unlike the 3 contestants, I did know FJ and thought it was pretty obvious. Also, was able to identify Norman Mailer -shocked no one got him.

Goodbye, Adam. You were the sweetest Jeopardy contestant to be on in a long, long time.
by Anonymous | reply 538 | November 26, 2024 5:25 PM |
I really liked Adam and would love it if he were my husband. Such a sweetheart.
He lost confidence after he missed that (rather easy) Daily Double and never got it back.

by Anonymous | reply 542 | November 27, 2024 3:45 AM |
R542 In 2022, they reported priests were about 72% straight, 28% LGBTQ. It was about the same for deacons, but for bishops the split was 96% and 4% respectively.
by Anonymous | reply 543 | November 27, 2024 7:14 AM |
Then there was the Episcopal priest on Jeopardy from somewhere like Idaho or Montana. Youngish, cute. But married with children....who can tell?
by Anonymous | reply 544 | November 27, 2024 11:20 PM |
The current priest champ, Kevin, has a wife named Allison, and they have three sons.

FJ was easy, she should have known it.
by Anonymous | reply 547 | November 28, 2024 3:16 PM |
I'm really not liking this priest, and not just because he defeated Adam earlier this week.
The guy has absolutely no personality - to the point that after he's won each game, he stares straight ahead into nothingness and never acknowledges either of his other challengers.
He can't be defeated quickly enough for me.
by Anonymous | reply 548 | November 28, 2024 3:24 PM |
Well, I felt badly for him to lose on his Thanksgiving Day wedding anniversary, but he seemed relieved.

Why can’t they give her the respect she’s entitled to?
Enough! Evan can't help the way they look.
He looks like he’s the love child of Shrek and Andre the Giant

The Faye Dunaway incident was shocking. Especially from the older lady from Queens, who was certainly around during Faye's peak.

What was the Dunaway clue?
What was the Dunaway clue?
The category was “Florida Woman”. All of the clues were about women who are native Floridians.
The clue (which included a pic of her from late ‘60s/ early ‘70s) said something to the effect that this Oscar winning actress was born in Tallahassee.

R569 WITH A PHOTO. which one of them said was Pam Anderson!
by Anonymous | reply 571 | December 3, 2024 6:03 PM |
That was an intense game. Considering new champ Stevie never landed on a DD he made a very impressive show. I guess nobody here will regret seeing the demise of Evan.
by Anonymous | reply 572 | December 4, 2024 12:49 AM |
And they showed a picture of her!
by Anonymous | reply 573 | December 4, 2024 1:11 AM |
Tonight's game was suspenseful right to the end and I'm really glad Stevie won.
The thought of having to look at that gross slob Evan one more day is more than I can handle.
by Anonymous | reply 574 | December 4, 2024 1:30 AM |
I thought Evan’s backstory was fascinating. I liked the intimidating way he barked his responses. I’m glad he’s married/loved.
by Anonymous | reply 575 | December 4, 2024 1:33 AM |
That FJ was very hard but then very obvious, once you knew the correct response. I, like I imagine most everyone else, focused on Englis and French lit.
by Anonymous | reply 576 | December 4, 2024 1:48 AM |
I thought Christmas Carol. Damn, you, Dickens! 😛
by Anonymous | reply 577 | December 4, 2024 1:52 AM |
European does not include English. English would be its own category. Had to be French or German (or Russian).
by Anonymous | reply 578 | December 4, 2024 3:28 AM |
Bravo to Stevie for knocking out Evan! I was rooting for him.
No idea on Final, but I figured it was something by Dickens.
by Anonymous | reply 579 | December 4, 2024 9:16 AM |
I guessed Les Miz for FJ.
by Anonymous | reply 580 | December 4, 2024 1:24 PM |
Last time I looked, England was still part of Europe.
by Anonymous | reply 581 | December 4, 2024 2:45 PM |
I got War & Peace immediately. The 1805 date was a big hint.
Shockingly, I got The Pied Piper the other night too. On a roll!

A blogger hates Pop Culture Jeopardy, seemingly on principle, as he didn’t mind the gameplay itself.

Great game on Friday. Its games like this that make me love Jeopardy!
I would have been happy with any of the three as the winner. Congratulations to Dave.
Had to think for a minute, but figured out Final.
by Anonymous | reply 584 | December 7, 2024 8:09 AM |
I thought FJ was very easy!
by Anonymous | reply 585 | December 7, 2024 1:55 PM |
Colin Jost on PC Jeopardy seems like he would rather be anywhere else than on TV with these nerds.
by Anonymous | reply 586 | December 7, 2024 3:11 PM |
Jost gives off those vibes whenever he leaves his frat house.
by Anonymous | reply 587 | December 7, 2024 7:16 PM |
Dave lost his mojo tonight. New champ seems like he could stick around for a while.
I thought FJ was either Corsica or Sicily,
by Anonymous | reply 588 | December 10, 2024 1:58 AM |
No idea on FJ.
The new winner is a hottie.
My mom pointed out that he looks like a really young Steve Garvey.
by Anonymous | reply 589 | December 10, 2024 7:28 AM |
I thought Final was obvious, surprised none of them got it.
by Anonymous | reply 590 | December 10, 2024 1:15 PM |
Is the new champ a gay?
by Anonymous | reply 591 | December 11, 2024 12:10 AM |
Not with those lame responses to Broadway Musicals.
by Anonymous | reply 592 | December 11, 2024 12:32 AM |
Agree r589, he’s good looking
by Anonymous | reply 593 | December 11, 2024 12:35 AM |
Really rocked the Miami Vice look tonight! But, I was hoping for Dan. Managed to get Final.
by Anonymous | reply 594 | December 11, 2024 1:08 AM |
He's OK but no Cris Pannullo.
by Anonymous | reply 595 | December 11, 2024 1:52 AM |
R591 If you're talking about "Bill," his socials show he's married to a woman and has two kids.
by Anonymous | reply 596 | December 11, 2024 11:49 PM |
Bill is a pretty good player, but he hasn't really had much strong competition yet.
by Anonymous | reply 597 | December 12, 2024 12:51 AM |
Bill finally had some decent competition.
Btw, I thought FJ was insanely easy. Couldn't believe they all missed it. Are they just too young?
by Anonymous | reply 598 | December 13, 2024 2:41 PM |
Took me a bit, but I got it, too with time to spare.
by Anonymous | reply 599 | December 13, 2024 7:27 PM |
Rooting for handsome Ram but I'm not sure he's up to it. We'll see........
