That tart. You know she was turning tricks and snorting coke off camera

The first image was her discovering Cinemax.

Is there ANYTHING to discuss about this woman that hasn't been discussed before on DL?

r9 = the ghost of Phil Ober

I hope that dump wasn’t really her home.

R9 VIVIAN VANCE is a mirror embodying the complexities of the human experience, revealing as much as she conceals.

I like the oven with the porthole window. Or is that a washing machine?

Was it Betty Ramsey or Carolyn Appleby who had that gauche Chinese Modern?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 3, 2024 1:33 PM |
Carolyn Appleby r15.

Her house looks fine.
Her 1954 Emmy dress, on the other hand ...

Fabulous photos! Fun to see the inside of her 1950s home. Her viewing arrangements didn't look too comfortable but I loved that crocheted afghan and unfortunate view from the kitchen window.
Brings back memories of my own family homes. You can still get tea kettles like the one on her stove. The knotty pine cabinets, so midcentury.

This should have been a "tasteful friends" thread.

This was her house in Pacific Palisades

Bump for the only Vance who matters.

Wow, R1...her death is the first celebrity death I recall being reported on the nightly news, I was 5 and just about to start kindergarten.

I don’t believe Viv lugged that new-fangled “portable” television set around the house like that. Cathode ray tubes were heavy.

That oven with the round window looks like a dryer or a front loading washer.

From Wikipedia:
[quote]In the spring of 1965, Vance was growing tired of commuting weekly between her home on the East Coast and Los Angeles.
Christ. Move to LA, then.

Lucy is on the roof trying to fix the television reception.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 4, 2024 4:26 PM |
No need! These new TVs have antennas right on the box! You can see them in the photos.

Seems like there were many opportunities for her to wear hostess pants.
