Drifters

Are they all dangerous or is that a stereotype? Dark? Brooding? Who is your favorite drifter in tv, film or literature? Is it easy to drift?

I've met these types at my AA meetings. They're usually running from something, restless loner types. I guess you could've called me a drifter, years ago. I hitch-hiked from city to city, catching rides with truckers. Once I arrived, I'd find the nearest shelter or hostel. Then I'd get bored and come back home.

It’s more like they can’t get their shit together, OP.

Drifters or homeless? Or hobos? I’ve been homeless but I didn’t really drift. I don’t think riding the rails hobos have been a thing since trains took a dump. Drifters sound like guys running from warrants.

When I was about 14, while my favorite aunt and I were quietly sitting in my grandmother’s kitchen, she looked at me and said, “You know, you’re always going to be a lone wolf.” I didn’t really know what it meant but it made me feel uneasy.

Not a drifter, but I’m definitely a loner. I have lots of acquaintances and few friends. I’ve never been the type to make plans to see a movie or have dinner with friends. If it happens, it happens. When I was going out to bars and now when I go out to eat, I almost always went alone, striking up conversations with whomever I happened to be sitting beside that night.

I wouldn’t say that I’m dark and brooding though, quite the opposite. I am one of those annoying types that some would describe as having never met a stranger. I believe I’m pretty aware of when people want to be left alone, but I would wager almost all people think that, regardless of reality.
