Reddit: Who is the rudest celeb you have ever met? What happened?
A great thread that had my reading for hours. Tommy Lee Jones and Jared Leto come up with unsurprising regularity. Some, like Shaq have severe swings in reactions, some calling him the greatest, most friendly and others hating him. Michael Jordan and Kobe are not favorites either. This is a one of the best posts I've ever read on Musk:
Elon Musk. He stayed at a mountain resort that I worked at in 2018 . He was luckily only there for 3 days but he was an utter terror the entire time he was there.
He refused to be checked in at the reception area and demanded a private check in at his cabin which is fine but we ask ahead of time so we can staff properly for the later arrivals.
He asked for the youngest female concierge on staff to be sent to the check in with nobody else for "security" reasons. I took the check in myself instead of sending the 19 year old and took the largest and oldest driver I could find for security reasons.
He wanted the personal cell phone numbers for all female concierge staff. I said that is against out policy and set him up with the resort app so he could contact whoever was on duty for a prompt answer.
He harassed every single female employee so nastily that by the time he had been there for 12 hours every department switched him to only male staff. He didn't tip any of the wait staff or guides for any activities. He booked a private horseback ride that a wrangler was brought in specially for the day and then refused to go because he didn't like the colors of any of the horses available , and he wanted to ride a really "butch and muscular" horse. He meant a draft horse, which we had for pulling wagons but none for riding.
He also had insane demands. He wanted a 80 year old beautiful ponderosa pine cut down because he didn't like how the light hit it at sunset. He wanted shock collars put on the squirrels to stop them from being too loud. And he wanted us to trap a grizzly bear and bring it to his cabin for a few hours so he could take pictures and study it.
He was the rudest, stupidest and most arrogant POS I have ever encountered.

Does Elon Musk count as a "celebrity"? I'm more inclined to stick with tyrant-enabler. (This also goes well beyond mere "rudeness" into BPD and massive entitlement syndromes.)
Btw Deuxmoi has endless asshole-celeb tales in their IG stories. Anthony Mackie somehow gets mentioned a lot, and considering he's assuming the helm of one of Marvel's most successful franchises in a few months, his asshole attitude doesn't seem like it'll play well with the media.

The reason I believe so many of these stories is because they're coming from service people. Celebrities are notoriously rude to servers. But a lot of the posters also cite celebrities being rude to kids, which is a real negative, IMO.

Because of my job in NYC back in the 90s/00s, I met a slew of celebrities and honestly 99% were really decent people. I supposed Jeanne Garofalo was the most rude, but all she did was look angry when I spoke with her handler about details for that night's performance. Oh, and perhaps most bizarre was Winona Ryder who I passed walking down a quiet street in the west village during a less-than-famous stage of her career. We passed each other and I looked at her to be sure that's who she was and when she noticed me, inches away, her hand shot up to cover her profile. But then again, Winona isn't best known for her mental wellness. Oh, and Barry Manilow was pissy and aloof but his handler (husband) was very nice.
A friend of mine had a funny story about Tina Louise (of which, I'm sure, there are legion) . He was house managing at a well known OB house and when the doors opened (with assigned seats) Tina bolted and pushed others out of the way to get in. Some older man said something and she turned around and said, "Please, it's not like you're not going to get in."

I've worked with several sports figures. By the far, the nicest athlete I ever worked with was Steph Curry. He was friendly, accommodating, and kind. I worked with him at an event, and months later, I ran into him at another event. He remembered my name and walked up to me and gave me a hug.
On the other end of the spectrum, not surprisingly, Draymond Green is a complete asshole. Rude, arrogant, entitled, and with all the emotional restraint of a kindergartner who's had his toy taken away from him.
Likewise, Barry Bonds is a supremely arrogant asshole. I helped him when he attended an event, and he literally looked up, nose in the air, and wouldn't respond to anything I said to him. Total prick.

I met Axl in Vegas while waiting for a flight to PHX about 18 years ago. He was quiet and sitting alone but when asked told me several hilarious stories about the recording of Appetite. This was pre-Botox so he looked pretty normal. He has that odd X-factor that so many lead singers possess where they arent conventionally attractive but clearly have charisma and intensity that puts them in a different league of entertainers. On the opposite end of the spectrum I met Gavin at Fred Segal within that same year and while he was lovely to look at, he had the magnetism of a jr high biology teacher. Julia Roberts = twat - Iâve encountered her a few times. My daughter who is now 26 has a good story where she was managing a pop-up in the Hamptons during college one summer and JR tried to barge in as they were closing but she and her fellow Zoomers locked the door in her face bc JR was so rude. Extra points bc none of them had seen that garbage dump Pretty Woman, so they had no real understanding of the irony of their snub.

I was in Orlando with my husband and a friend. We took hin to Disney with us as a birthday gift. It turned out there was a big horror convention in town and he was a huge Horror movie fan so we decided to go to that one day rather than the parks, because it was his vacation too. The night before we wen out to dinner at a fairly fancy restaurant. It was pretty quiet when we were sat with not many people in the restaurant. We were sat in a booth, my husband and I on one side, our friend on the other. Almost immediately a couple is sat behind us (my friend's back to them). I recognized the woman in the couple It was Tara Reid. I leaned forward and whispered to our friend, "don't say anything and don't look right away but I think Tara Reid is right behind you." He screams NUH HUH really loude, spins around, looks right at her, and goes OMG. Fan girls out so bad her and her date get up and leave. I could not blame her.

Axl Rose is one of the best rock front men of all time. He really had stage presence, not even considering his vocal range.
However, I always got Neo-Nazi vibes from him. Plus, IIRC, he reportedly beat up one of his girlfriends (Stephanie Seymour), early fame time.
Now, he seems a lot more humble. He's lost his hair, he's gotten fat, and his voice is shot to hell.
He performed at Lisa Marie Presley's funeral. (Who knew they were close friends?) He played piano and croaked out "November Rain." It was truly awful (it's on YouTube), but I felt for him. He said yes, I'll perform, when asked.

In 2003 I had the strange good fortune to wind up backstage at a David Bowie concert in LA. Among the people I chatted with, a very young Scarlet Johannssen was extremely nice. Martin Gore of Depeche Mode was chatty and sweet. Ian Astbury of The Cult was pompous but social. Elijah Woods had the bluest eyes I'd ever seen and was way shorter than I ever realized. He seemed almost as out of his depth as I felt. Very humble. Bowie himself was VERY gracious. He entered the room wearing a green hoodie, jeans, sneakers and a smile, nothing like the tall, imposing "Thin White Duke" you imagine in your mind. Bowie chatted for a long time with my friend, while I sort of stood there trying not to gawk, trying not to fangirl, while inside I was literally exploding.
The one person that I found to have very dark, creepy energy that night was: Lisa Marie Presley. Oh my god. She was dressed for a funeral in head-to-toe black with a wide-brimmed hat. Scowl on her face like she'd just stepped in shit and smelled it. She had mean girl energy. Since then, I have seen interviews of Lisa Marie where she seems more normal and less ominous. I also understand more about her life than I did back then -- that she was the person that actually found her dad dead on the floor. That she was devastated by her marriage and divorce to Michael Jackson and spent years trying to both win him back and also get over him. I understand she has always been a troubled soul with sad eyes, but also she was a supposedly nurturing mother. But at that time, backstage that night, among so many chatty celebs, she seemed almost demonic. All I could think was "Oh, it's Lisa Marie, the creepy SCIENTOLOGIST." I figured she was in her Scientology/Aleister Crowley mashup era. If anyone knows what was going on with her specifically in 2003 (heroin?), let me know.

I took my nephew to a sci fi convention / autograph thing. Richard Dreyfuss was there doing autographs. My nephew didn't really care about him enough to pay for an autograph, but the way the line was structured, you could walk right by him and look. We walked by and we heard him saying to a very young kid (maybe 10ish), "Do you even know who I am? So you saw Jaws? What else have you seen? Nothing, that's what I figured. So you're just here collecting autographs." He signed the kids posted and basically threw it at him. It was very weird, and the kid was very confused.

R99 - I have a Richard Dreyfuss story. He's at best 5 ft. tall and while I'm average height I towered over him. Anyway, I was at work and bent over a couch to pin something to a bulletin board and felt a presence. I look down and there's Dreyfuss looking like a scared out of his mind as if I were Godzilla about to step on him. We didn't speak and I didn't even know he was there in the building that day, but I'll never forget the look on his face. He wasn't a jerk (although I suspect he usually is), just so strange.

At the horror convention I talked about up thread. I stood in line with my friend who wanted to get an autograph from some old porn star. Seka maybe? She looked like a fat old housewife. I held his phone so he could get a picture with her. He bought her book and got her autograph. After I took the picture she started yelling at me. "Why didn't you buy a book?" I said I was just there to hold my friend's stuff. She yelled what you can't read? It was getting uncomfortable. Same convention I saw Sharon Ferrell who I had worked with a loooong time ago. I figured she would not remember me. She looked up and I saw that spark of recognition then she got a big smile and ran around the table to hub me. OMG I have not seen you in forever, she said as she hugged me. Do you even remember me? I asked. She said, Of course from CBS, You were so sweet. I was floored. It had been about 20 years.

R101 Sounds like Seka, yes. She does tons of these autograph shows. She was quite stunning back in the 80s, but now she's a fat white trash frau who lives in the midwest with her white trash husband and her real name is Dottie Patton. She's also a hardcore MAGA Trumper, which just floors me, based on her past.
A couple of years ago, a friend of mine invited me to a Zoom session where fans could join and ask Seka questions. I wasn't a fan, but I was curious about what she might have to say, so I joined. Before she joined the session, the Zoom moderator informed everyone that Seka was a "lady" and we were not to say or ask her any questions that were distasteful.
When she finally joined (she was 15 minutes late), she looked like crap and acted like she was bored out of her mind. Because no one could ask her any juicy questions, all she basically talked about was how she was so famous in the 1980s. She talked a little bit about dating Sam Kinison and some rock stars, but she offered nothing particularly revelatory.
Then at the end of the session, she started hocking her stupid autobiography and autographed pictures, and ended with this diatribe about how our country was going to hell and that we needed Trump in office if were going to survive. At that point, I logged off. I was tempted to tell her to fuck off, but I restrained myself.

What I find interesting in the Reddit thread is how many people claim to have terrible encounters with "celebrities" at cons. It also lines up with stories I've heard from friends. How in the hell do you attend these conventions, charge for an autograph and/or picture and have attitude?

Yeah Jack, this is Faye Dunaway... Look I've raced some of the stuff from the O'Neill interview but I'm not really interested in Terry O'Neill - he's a BIG, BIG LIAR and I'm really not interested in in him and you know all and dilly-dallying and carrying over Mommie Dearest...I don't even want to discuss it in my interview or on this Lloyd-Webber thing: those are NEGATIVES and I notice that you have nothing in about Marlon Brando, you have nothing in about Johnny Depp which I did two films with, I don't expect you to get get him for an interview, but you could put some footage in of the of the Kusturica movie which I was BRILLIANT in and it was not well sold in this country you can talk about the Marlon Brando film that I was wonderful in. All the POSITIVE things along that that period, the Marlon Brando film was going on at the same time that the Lloyd-Webber STUPIDITY was going on and you all have to put in the Lloyd-Webber STUPIDITY, you can't put in that I worked with the wonderful Marlon Brando and talk to the director of that movie FOR CHRISTSAKE! And I'm not gonna approve it and I'm really upset now because that uh for two nights now tried to thread through that STUPID interview with a with a man that I will not even waste my time discussing. And and you know who, suffice it to say, stopped working when he married me and pretended to be my manager for a very long time so LET'S NOT EVEN GO THERE! It's very upsetting to me! And then to put my uh our child in JEOPARDY the way he has. So I'm not interested in these NEGATIVE things that you all are putting in there with me in! I don't want Llloys-Webber in, I'd like you to cut him out, and I'd like you to really trim down everything to do with that Mommie Dearest, I'm not gonna talk about it, maybe one thing I'm gonna say about it and THAT'S ALL. It's just like uh you know an obsession, why can't you be obsessed about POSITIVE THINGS?! About Marlon Brando? About the Kusturica movie that was THE HIT OF ALL THE EUROPE AND CANNES? About uh, the film I did with Brando and talk to that, YOU KNOW?!

R109, As someone who was a longtime neighbor of Frances McDormandâs in NYC, I can vouch for the fact that she is stone cold, the least friendly neighbor on an otherwise friendly street. That resting bitch face and inability to smile that she affects on award shows is her real life public persona â period.
Having said that, I havenât seen her on my old street for years, not since before Covid. I had heard that she and husband Joel Coen relocated to LA during lockdown, their adopted son is grown up and has flown the coop and though I very occasionally see Coen srill around, never her. I wouldnât be surprised to learn they are quietly living separate lives. Sheâs certainly cold comfort.

R112 - OK, one more Frances McDormand story. Again, quite some time ago. I was at the Lortel for the Obies (not a nominee, but friends were) and I was coming in close to start time into a very crowded small lobby. I get to the interior door to enter the auditorium at the exact same time a woman's hand reaches out to grab the door handle, but I got to it first. I turned to open the door for her and saw it was Frances McDormand who glared at me like I had just kicked her in the cunt bone. I think she was insulted by the whole man-opens-a-door-for-a-woman pseudo feminist horseshit. After an eternal moment she finally just shrugged with a "fuck it" expression and breezed past me. And no, she did not say thank you let alone smile wanly. In hindsight, I wish I had said, "Age before beauty," but that probably would've gotten me kicked out.

My first job in NYC (late 80s) was working box office and house for a then-hugely popular, long-running show off-Broadway. They had brought in a "name" to boost ticket sales and prep her for the next national tour: Dody Goodman. At the time I was watching late night reruns of Mary Hartman and recognized her instantly. For whatever reason she decided to eat her lunch (tuna sandwich) in the lobby alone rather than backstage with the other actors and crew, so it was just me and her. I was working, walking back and forth and without approaching her I said, "Ms. Goodman, I really enjoyed you on Mary Hartman. I've been watching it lately in reruns." Without even turning to look at me she said, "My goodness. Do people still watch that thing?" Then went back to her tuna sandwich with vacant dead eyes.
Conversely, I was selling tickets one day to a different hit show and I got a phone call from Imogene Coca. She gave her name and began to spell it when I stopped her and said she was famous and I knew the spelling. You'd think I'd just gave her part of my liver. She was delighted to know someone so young knew who she was. It was touching, really.
So, fuck off, Dody.

My mother loved the show Laugh In back then, so she turned to Joanne Worley and said, "Miss Worley, I just wanted to let you know I love you on Laugh In."
Joanne Worley just kept looking straight ahead, rolled her eyes, then got up and left the bar.

R131. I described Wynona Judd as nuts because she seemed rather unstable, always talking about the relationship with her mother, which was dysfunctional. She was unreliable about media interviews, rather scatterbrain crazy, and then continued talking about her screwball family on stage.
However, I will say, when she sang and joked with the audience, she was fun and put on a good show. She was entertaining and the audience liked her, and she has a good voice. I had to deal with her from a pr/media standpoint, and she was kind of annoying and nutty.

Oh and she wanted them to pay for lunch for her, her husband and her kids, who would be eating at another table. I told her I would ask but don't expect they would want to do all that. She paused and said "you are not very good at your job then are you?" I called her back an hour later and said "The station does not want to interview you. Your show is the lowest-rated show in Hawaii. I was able to get you a phone interview with the local paper. A friend of mine who was a limo driver used to work for a number of shows including Letterman and SNL. This was back in the mid to late 80s.
He said most of the celebrities he drove were perfectly civil, including famed horrors such as Lauren Bacall and Marlon Brando.
Letterman was cold and uncommunicative to the point of weirdness.
Paul Shaffer was abusive, whiny, always late, blamed the driver for everything, had a filthy mouth and was generally an egotistical asshole.
RDJ started out as friendly and talkative and then got sadder and quieter as things progressed. He was filming a movie (Less Than Zero, I assume) on the west coast between shows for SNL in New York and started looking more and more unwell. His last trip he burst into tears when he arrived at the airport. Since it was the last time my friend saw him I assume it was the day SNL canned him.
The rudest celebrities I ever met personally were through the art world - Richard Serra (pompous and theatrically bored by everyone), Maya Lin (insane bitch), the talent-free asshole Damien Hurst, the snobbish and class-obsessed Zaha Hadid. Alan Rickman was profoundly unimpressed by my attempt at conversation, but it was only a few months before his death and he looked ill and in pain.

Jason Patric was yummy, in an elevator with the Junkie whore wrapped around him. It was 5am, we were both drunk, high and nasty. I always win that argument. No cameras in the elevators at the time. They were in rooms 755, 757& 759(the Presidental suite)-I was in Room 865, the 2-bedroom suite.
Julia was a real junkie cunt, if u confronted her, she backed down. I was "nasty as Fuck" back in the day. She didn't like the comment but she didn't come back at me.

Andy Cohen lived a few floors above me in Chelsea while he was having his place renovated. He was the rudest human being I've ever met -- rude to everyone in the building, including the very nice staff. What I remember most was that whenever he took the elevator down, he would tell the elevator operator not to stop at the floors where people were also waiting to go down because he didn't want to share the elevator with others. If the operator didn't do that, he'd report them to their boss. Luckily the super hated Andy as much as everyone else in the building.

People get so stupid around celebrities. I took a friend with me to see the opening of "Here Lies Love" the dumb immersive musical about Imelda Marcos written by David Byrne who was there at the opening and standing about 5 feet away from us, swaying to his music and lip syncing to his own songs (adorable yet also a bit weird). My rather dimwitted friend really didn't know who David Byrne was yet after the show when we were having a drink in a nearby bar, the entire cast and team came into the bar along with Byrne and of course my stupid friend got into a tizzy and tried to insist we go interact with him even though he only vaguely had an idea who he was.
I snapped at him, "don't be ridiculous" and he pouted about it. In hindsight, I should have let him talk me into it so I could have said to David Byrne "Sorry to bug you but my friend insisted even though he only has a super vague idea who you are!"

Julia Roberts was supposed to be intolerable while making HOOK - hated by the entire cast and crew.

[quote]An old college tutor of mine once told me a story that a friend of his was involved in. He was part of a horn section and they were playing with Van Morrison on tour. Morrison is well known for being a cantankerous old bastard and during rehearsals was being a complete dick with the whole band, but in particular the horn section. He wouldnât allow anyone to get lunch but went off himself to eat. Morrison had left his harmonica lying around so the entire horn section took it and swiped it in all of their arse cracks then put it back ready for him to play.

R223 -- The building's on 15th street and it's not what you think. It's an older rental building that never put in buzzers for tenants' apartments. And so the elevator guy also acts as the doorman, since there is no doorman. Thus to go to someone's apartment you enter the building and have to wait for the elevator to return to the lobby so the operator can find out who you want to visit. It completely confuses people who've never been there before because they walk into an empty lobby with no buzzers and no people. Andy was there because he was renovating his place and the apartment he had was, of course, the only really nice one in the building with a terrace that supposedly was the largest in downtown.

I was in DFW airport and saw actor Jon Voight standing in line, by himself, to board an American Airlines flight. He was in the pre-board or first class line.
He was wearing a gray suit (with a tie, IIRC). He's tall. He was smiling and looking around the airport. He looked completely approachable, almost like he wanted to be identified.

Agree that the whole idea of an autograph is bizarre, but ours was srill a culture where everyone wrote and received letters. Also it was a way to get a star to look at you, ask your name, and give you a few seconds to stare at them while they looked down and wrote.

Met Bill Cosby at an event for a library. He was every bit the asshole that everyone now knows him to be. On top of squeezing my chest (female). He also insulted the administrative staff for not having proper lighting ready for him and told another person she shouldn't be filmed in the PSA they were doing to promote adult literacy because her accent was not American.

The nicest were Seann William Scott (I know, I know), Selma Blair, Kathy Bates, Jane Krakowski, Rhea Perlman, NEil Patrick Harris, Lucy Liu, Dwayne Johnson, Aaron NevilleâŠall I can think of right now.
Iâve met a bunch of low level semi famous authors and Broadway people.

From the infamous James Corden AMA Reddit:
[quote]Hey James. You wonât remember me but me and my friends sat at a table next to you and Harry Styles + some others in Manchurian Legends in Londonâs Chinatown about 6 years ago. We didnât bother you but you were a massively entitled cunt who yelled and treated the waitstaff like shit and when one of my party politely suggested you calm down, you got really aggressive and threatening (in a chubby way. Like a boozy panda.) So my question is this; why did Harry seem so cool, while you were such a massive throbbing bellend?
[quote]My brother's girlfriend played one of your videos on my YouTube account and now it keeps recommending more of them to me. Do you know how to get it to stop doing that?

For the Jeanne Cooper fans: consider reading (well, listening to) her audio book: Not Young, Still Restless (in her unique voice).
Anyway, a friend worked in a resort ('80s or '90s). Jeanne Cooper was staying there. One of my friend's coworkers, I think it was a housekeeper, was a huge Y&R fan. Jeanne took down this woman's name and address and mailed her a photo of the cast, autographed by everyone in the cast.
I realize Jeanne didn't mail the photo, herself.

Cordon's obvious is laying low to let Americans forget about what an asshole he is for a while. He's trying to salvage his rep in the UK by making a finale of the beloved sitcom Gavin & Stacey in the UK after several years. I hope to God the UK public says "Thanks, but you're still a cunt" after they get their finale.
My hate for him is also visceral because he didn't deserve the role in Into The Woods, one of many musical roles that could have deservedly gone to somebody else.

The James Corden AMA on Reddit is a classic. I've never seen the word "cunt" used more in any other Reddit thread.
[quote]Has there ever been an occasion where a celebrity would have rather slammed their lips into the car door instead of spending another moment in his company because heâs such an awful cunt?
[quote]Don't care about you being an asshole really, but this AMA taught me you're also a filthy anti-union scab. My question is do you think anybody will care when your miserable career finally withers?
[quote]Massive cunt in person, I saw a league of their own filming live, threw multiple tantrums over minor things at the production staff, with him being incredibly rude to them, which made the other regulars seem very awkward like it was usual, between each take the other celebs would be chatting amongst themselves - bantering about, James was glued to his phone. At the end of the filming people got up to go get pictures with James and he massively kicked off shouting at people to go away and to go back to their seats and the few he did let have pictures with he was moody as. Afterwards we went into a "VIP" tent as such for a beer (we were guests of people - anonymity for obviously reasons) and the celebs were going to be joing us, the other celebs came in and spoke with people, James came in for a brief moment, someone asked politely asked for a quick picture, he abruptly said "later" and the fucked off to I'm guessing his changing room for the rest of the night as they didn't get their picture before kick out time.
[quote]Seeing him like that made me realise everything you see of his on TV is a complete persona. And really his natural personality is just, a complete self entitled cunt.
[quote]The argument that he had with Patrick Stewart at an awards show was because the cunt was on his phone or something... while giving out awards.

Contrary to r296's experience k.d. lang (kathryn dawn lang does not capitalize her name) was perfectly cordial to me when I rushed up to her leaving the building after her February 2018 Seattle concert. But I'm a true fan unobsessed with her only single that charted in the U.S.
It was probably a Sunday (her favourite day of the week) in the 1990s when you interrupted her shopping for fresh produce at the farmer's market. She was pre-Buddhist and possibly premenstrual.
She's also an introvert, as am I. Absolutely fucking gorgeous. The woman radiates peace and gentleness; I had an overwhelming urge to be hugged by her although I restrained myself. She allowed me to hold her huge, callused hand before signing two men's LPs - in that half minute we were a committed couple, our dogs and cats befriended each other, children were born - then I let go and after she had signed a couple of autographs though before she got into this boat of a car I blurted out I was Canadian too (it seemed important for her to know this). "That's good, that's really good!", she laughed. I wanted to say even stupider, pointless things but she and her small entourage had to leave.

I received strong "keep away from me!" vibes from George Harrison at a post- F1 party once. He probably saw my eyes widen when I first noticed him because I had never considered the possibility he would be there. R347 - I wonder what celebrities think when they recognize the look on a person's face the moment they realize who they are. Is it scary, daunting, exhilarating, annoying? I remember working at a hotel once where celebrities would come and go often (NYC), and out of nowhere Shirley Jones and Marty Engels pop up in front of me at the desk. When I looked up my eyes must have popped a bit. I was thinking in my head, "Mrs. Partridge!" but Shirley must have seen it and gave me a steely stare of death as in "Don't even." Marty on the other hand was super nice.

I was rude to a celebrity unintentionally. I saw Barabara Barrie on the street who of course I had seen in Company. I was a kid and went up to her and said could I have your autograph Miss Harris? She looked at me coldly and said 'My name is not Harris.' I then realized my mistake and was mortified. I was with a friend who found it funny. I didn't really have time to study Harrison in any meaningful way, R348, I was so determined to not be a gawker. However, he looked damn good (this was the late-'90s). I felt pretty chuffed at simply rubbing shoulders (metaphorically) with a Beatle. There were about 30 of us in a roped off area in a nightclub celebrating after the race, so I was already lucky to be hanging out in such exclusive company. There were a few F1 drivers along with some of their team members but, after all this time, the only person I can remember being there was George. In that moment I was starstruck. Thankfully I had presence of mind to be discreet and not bother him.

I'm 61 (born in 63) and I remember Hazel...it was on TV for years , in reruns. Most sitcoms from the early 60s were available well into the very early 70s. And, of course the big hits, like Gilligan and Bewitched, lasted longer than that.

The very late Boomers and the 60s born Gen Xers were the last generations who really watched LOTS of older TV shows and films, stuff from way before they were born because...they had no other options. Most of us only had 3 or 4 TV channels to watch (I was lucky and had 11 growing up because we lived equal distance from more than one TV market) and they all programmed old stuff. Once cable started circa 1980 and started taking off (not to mention video games taking over), kids stopped watching the old stuff, for the most part.

Angela Lansbury was fantastic. Kylie Minogue was everything youd want her to be. Simon Cowell was very charming and very short. Song writer david foster is a prick(wrote the Bodyguards songs) Kim Cattrall standoffish. Laurie Metcaffe is so down to earth. Colin Farrell nice but dismissive..he was busy. Ray Winston was great. Will I Am is so bizarre.. like a man child..huge gay vibes. or maybe just Not str8 vibes. Ant and Dec are great. Dermot O'leary great. Ruth Madoc was adorable. Nicole Shirzinger a dote. Graham Norton surprisingly reserved but nice. Larry Hagman and Linda Grey were the absolute best. Joan Collins cautious and wary..but star icon presence..but frail. Sophia Loren stared me straight in the eyes...so frail and her dress looked like it had scaffolding under it..but a real star with beautiful calm presence. Helen Mirren is fun and cheeky. 99% are lovely. Sinead OConnor was very tiny and reserved..shy even..but so pretty and you wanted to protect her. Liam Cunningham is a gorgeous man. Kelly Osborne is down to earth, fun and gossipy. Pamela Anderson adorable.

Why would Peter Wolf's drug problems do lasting damage to Faye's career? Is that one of the many things Faye blames for her career falling apart after Mommie, Dearest?
Faye turned 40 the year after Mommie Dearest and Hollywood has never been kind to actresses after they turn 40. She also had the disadvantage of having a bit of a reputation for being a pill and that didn't help either. She also made some poor choices and dithered about when she should have been seeking good roles and projects. But, narcissistic divas think things should just come their way without putting much effort into the process.
