Charlie Kirk Shot In The Neck (and Dead) — Part 2
by Anonymous | reply 334 | September 12, 2025 2:34 AM |
First thread would still be alive, but for 99 idiots all chiming in to say "He's dead."
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 10, 2025 11:00 PM |
Donald finally got his Horst Wessel.
God help us all.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 10, 2025 11:00 PM |
So what's the problem, R1? He is dead.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 10, 2025 11:05 PM |
"His daughter is gonna live without a dad"
Yeah, so are the children in Palestine. So are the children whose innocent parents were sent to El Salvador prisons. And hundreds or parents will live without their children who were blown away by madmen with easy access to guns in classrooms across the country. Charlie Kirk felt nothing for any of them.
Charlie Kirk was a despicable human cesspool.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 10, 2025 11:07 PM |
So are all the others killed by guns. He didn’t give a shit about them.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 10, 2025 11:08 PM |
Maybe he was perfectly happy to go out this way.

He looks gay here in this picture and his wife was 5 years older than him. It looks like another rightwing e-celeb lavender marriage (remember, Candace' husband has gay rumors too). It is all so wicked! A fellow gay was killed and some of y'all celebrate it. Please stahp!

I’m very disappointed to see people celebrating his death. You don’t have to have liked him or agreed with his positions to acknowledge that his murder sets a dangerous precedent and will embolden supporters of political violence.

As if the lawsuit filed by 3 former FBI agents wasn’t proof enough, Kash Patel cemented his status as a Grade A dumbass by Tweeting the assailant had been caught…right as the sheriff on the ground said they were at large.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 11, 2025 12:13 AM |
Kirk was a repulsive, disgusting person but I have to agree with Newsom.
This should never happen or be celebrated because it provides a permission structure for anyone with political views who someone else doesn't agree with to be killed too. And round and round it goes.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 11, 2025 12:22 AM |
I wonder if anyone asked him how he would feel if he was shot with a gun and what he would say to that.
I wish he lived but was rendering unable to speak or something. Maybe he would become an advocate against gun violence.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 11, 2025 12:22 AM |
We’re not celebrating. I think most of us are just yawning and thanking karma for finally catching up to at least one bigoted piece of shit.
There are still plenty more spewing hate.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 11, 2025 12:24 AM |
Didn't know much about him. I am now suspicious hearing about the deep ties he has to the Dump administration. Manner of death indicates this was a professional hit. The crazy outpouring of grief from MAGA and Republicans -- and the media -- for a man most of us had never heard of. The sane-washing of a neo-Nazi fascist being referred to as a "conservative activist." Conflicting reports on whether a "person of interest" is still in custody. This assassination reaks of a MAGA deflection. Turning attention away from the Dump administration while also giving MAGA a martyr.
I have no confidence the FBI will conduct a proper investigation.

R16 - I know, right? Unfollow palooza. I’m not celebrating his death - I just don’t care about it. He died being on the side of gun violence, so I guess his death wasn’t in vain? Anyway…

I can’t believe they haven’t gotten the shooter yet. I thought they announced a person of interest earlier today. The FBI is a joke now.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 11, 2025 1:17 AM |
I agree with R19. He was a misguided asshole and professional rage baiter, but no matter how much I disagreed with him, I still stand by the principle that nobody is entitled to be judge, jury, and executioner over someone's thoughts—about any topic. That is a cornerstone of liberal civilization that I will never sway on. Nobody should be getting shot to death because they dare to speak an unpopular opinion or something that others may disagree with. To be unwilling to stand by that opens a Pandora's box that is extremely dangerous. The fact that his wife and kids were there to witness him get murdered is especially awful.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 11, 2025 1:18 AM |
Good, R34. Now convince MAGA that it works both ways. Not a peep about Hortman, but Kirk is somehow a martyr? Fuck all of them. They created this, and support continued gun violence through their gun culture. He didn’t get shot because of his political beliefs. He got shot because they’ve normalized gun ownership by people who shouldn’t own guns.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 11, 2025 1:31 AM |
Idk what it says about DL if the first thread about this blowhard quickly reached 600 posts in just a few hours. Why do we spend so much time fixating on those that hate us/those we hate?

R35 to be fair, both of those things can be true at once.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 11, 2025 1:39 AM |
I'm REALLY fucking sick of the lectures, John Fugelsang, Bob Cesca, and all the other hand-wringers.
*I* wouldn't have shot the guy, but for goodness' sake, the jeremiads from the liberal Left are getting ridiculous. I really respect the way Michelangelo Signorille and Dean Obeidiah handled their shows and callers earlier today. They didn't go on and on about how very awful for Kirk's wife and children, and on and on about how WE have to take the high road, else we are them. Or how Kirk DESERVED to live so he could grow and change, maybe discover a gay person he cared about, and change his stance on homosexuality. They merely stated the facts as known at that hour, didn't claim to be glad the man was dead, and read quotes from various Kirk speeches. Very even handed.
Go and lecture THEM.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 11, 2025 1:43 AM |
What I really want to know is, what are y'all having for dinner? I'm feeling like tacos.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 11, 2025 2:16 AM |
It's been hours and the only person arrested/detained was released by the FBI. Am I wrong thinking this indicates incompetence or perhaps an inside job? Trump benefits from this in several ways. It removes a rival and diverts attention from Epstein and gives him another excuse for martial law. I fundamentally distrust conspiracy theories, but this seems to convenient.

Well, MSNBC fired Matthew Dowd for this comment:
"He’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. And I think that is the environment we are in. You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to take place. And that’s the unfortunate environment we are in.”

James Woods has gone right off the deep end on social media. Threatening violence on the left in post after post. He has even managed to link Kirk's death to Obama.
And Woods isn't the only one who has gone off the deep end. The whole right has gone batshit crazy. They have all decided it's either a Democrat/leftist who has killed Kirk or it's an operation which was organized by Democrats and the left. As far as they're concerned - even though nobody knows who is the perpetrator because the FBI hasn't even caught them - they've decided the shooter is from the left and they want retribution or even better - they want a civil war. I'm worried this is the catalyst they have been waiting for.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 11, 2025 2:49 AM |
Yes, James Woods is the true barometer of the political climate in America. You mean the guy who used to hit on underage girls?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 11, 2025 2:51 AM |
Yes, yes. Mr. Kirk and Trump concocted a plan that he would take one for the love of the country and detract from the Epstein Files. Trump had his goons send some military trained henchmen to shoot him in the throat.
Or! President Trump decided to sacrifice his political fanboy, knowing it would stir and distract shit, rallying people to his cause. There's a secret service man on video next to Kirk giving secret hand jive signals, that's proof. They haven't caught the lone white college kid liberal Luigi inspired shooter, that's also proof.
There's people on other forums saying that it's an amateur shot because no assassin aims for the throat- they aren't accounting for the bullet distance velocity drop. But, JFK was also shot in the back and the throat so who knows.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 11, 2025 2:52 AM |

I don't know, I hate to get conspiracy-thinking, but it's very strange to me that hours ago someone murdered Charlie Kirk, a supposed close friend of the President in broad daylight at a college that presumably has security cameras in a world where everyone is being watched by facial recognition cameras and tracked by devices and they still have no suspect.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | September 11, 2025 4:03 AM |
Many MAGAs personally identified with him. He articulated their beliefs better than they could, and with a smoothness and dexterity Trump couldn’t pull off. So this hits them hard. It feels like they have been targeted.
Don’t get me wrong. This is what we have suffered many times before. The man said and did vile things and personally made the country more divisive, mean, and angry. But these MAGA folks are genuinely grieving in a very personal way.
They also genuinely don’t see the violence of their own language or their fringe elements. They think only liberals commit violence and hate.
It’s not getting better.

"I knew Charlie, and I admired his passion and commitment to debate. His senseless murder is a reminder of how important it is for all of us, across the political spectrum, to foster genuine discourse on issues that deeply affect us all without resorting to political violence.
The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse. In a democracy, ideas are tested through words and good-faith debate — never through violence.
Honest disagreement makes us stronger; violence only drives us further apart and corrodes the values at the heart of this nation."

He preyed upon inexperienced, nervous, unprepared, or dumb college students to “debate” with him to validate his talking points and ideology and use it as a clickbait and sound bites and make them viral.

Civil war is a terrible, ugly thing, especially when based on an authoritarian, fascist move for power using all the tactics that have proven useful for such a campaign.
There are minor times and major times. We have been entering major times in this country for decades, in the same run-up to division and policies of hate that preceded our first civil war. This is not foolish talk: The same arguments and approach were at play then that we see now, with racism, self-interest, cultivation of disaffected whites, and governmental game-playing. The difference now is that there is no Lincoln in the White House. The majority has ceded control to a radical minority.
Saying the means do not justify the ends does not work when one side operates completely by saying the ends justify the means. We have to proceed with our ideals and seek the high ground, but in war - and this is war - the high ground can mean something else entirely.
Non-violent action will result in violent action against us. What is right in that case? Of course a general strike would/will be the best place to start when it's time, once we see how the 2026 election goes. But does anyone expect that the election will solve anything or do enough to restore our foundations?

This man's assassination was a tragedy for the USA. No matter how vile his beliefs and speech were, violence can never be the response.
Now, the MAGA movement is using this as an excuse to go after free speech.

He thought the Civil Rights Act should have been overturned and believed black people were better under Jim Crow.
No one ever talks about the effects the Vietnam War had on the black community by the way. Black men were disproportionately drafted and on the front lines. And then people talk about the collapse of black families and single black mothers of the 70s! Where did all the men go? They all were the first to go on the frontlines in Vietnam and that’s how welfare stepped in.
He wasn’t a debater or free speech activist, he was a RECRUITER for MAGA.
He is one of the reasons why so many Gen Z men voted for Trump.
Without Kirk, Turning Point USA will eventually collapse. He was the personality. I’m sure they could use him posthumously but the man was a social media influencer and content creator and without new content curating, the reach will decline.

State Department to 'take action' against 'foreigners' making negative comments about Kirk
In a post on X, Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said that the State Department will "take action" against "foreigners" in the U.S. who he said are "praising, rationalizing, or making light of" Kirk's assassination on social media.
"In light of yesterday’s horrific assassination of a leading political figure, I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country," Landau wrote on X. "I have been disgusted to see some on social media praising, rationalizing, or making light of the event, and have directed our consular officials to undertake appropriate action. Please feel free to bring such comments by foreigners to my attention so that the @StateDept can protect the American people."
In his post, Landau did not clarify what particular group "foreigners" referred to. He also didn't mention what "taking action" against people would look like and whether that could include deportation.

This is not OK. This is an easily avoidable trap that we needn’t fall into. We should not behave like the people who irrationally hold us democrats responsible for this man’s death.

[quote]What changed in such a short amount of time? Was Kash Patel's only plan to share the grainy images in a group chat and Palantir or reverse Google image searches would save the day?
MSNBC just cataloged the FBI's blunders so far in this investigation. A reporter stressed that things often change quickly in investigations like this and that it's Patel's conduct so far that's unusual (which is a polite way of saying "unprofessional"). Another panelist said it was only 2.5 hours that passed between this morning's "We don't need help identifying the person of interest" FBI announcement and its "Please help us identify him" photo release.

I haven't had time to read both threads, so apologies if these have been discussed, but I just did a quick scan of news while eating lunch and...
1) Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., is introducing a resolution to give Charlie Kirk a posthumous Congressional Gold Medal, the highest award that can be given to a civilian by Congress, following his assassination on Wednesday.
2) In a letter to speaker Johnson, Luna, who represents part of Pinellas County, asked for a statue of Kirk to be added in the U.S. Capitol.
3) Afterward, Vance will fly Kirk’s casket and family with him aboard Air Force Two from Utah to Arizona, where Kirk made his home.
4) During remarks at the Pentagon, Trump said he would posthumously award Kirk with the honor at a later date. The United States’ highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom is awarded by presidents to people who have made significant contributions in a variety of areas, including culture and public service.
5) Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth led a prayer with US troops for his “dear friend”, the political activist Charlie Kirk.
THIS IS INSANITY!!!

Since none of us has a clue as to who the shooter is and everyone is throwing out theories, here is mine:
Just looking at the shooting itself, it was so clean - one shot and not several rounds - that it seems like a professional hit. This was planned and the target was put in place. When it comes to violence, Democrats are known for angry letters, shaking their fist, smashing windows and maybe setting a car on fire. They are not military grade sharp shooters in the middle of Utah. This is not an unhinged person. This is a professional.
As posters mentioned above, the extreme far right was fractured and going after each other. Nick Fuentes and his Groypers hated the fact that Charlie Kirk had caved in so quickly to not looking into the Epstein files. They felt he was defending pedophiles. Trump could not shake the Epstein files no matter what he did and the biggest ruckus was coming from a part of his base going after the other. A lot of new evidence was just starting to come out - The Birthday File.
I think Charlie Kirk, again as mentioned above, was a sacrifice. You don't kill your enemy. You kill your friend and blame it on your enemy. And now look, the base is united, or so it looks. The over-the-top mourning and rending of clothes is so deafening, anyone even asking about Epstein now can't be heard and looks crazy. They will drag this Charlie Kirk stuff on until people are wailing and gnashing their teeth in the street, gouging their eyes out. It will be long enough until we move into the next phase of whatever is next on the agenda.
At first I thought the killer wouldn't be caught. I thought the person would remain a shadowy figure that they can put anything they want on. But now with the release of the picture, I think we are going to see a Lee Harvey Oswald ending. The killer's killer is probably being radicalized to take out Charlie's killer now. They will catch the killer, he/they/them will be everything they want he/they/them be, and the killer will be killed in transport.
Just spit ballin'.
That shot was just WAY TOO CLEAN, and the person disappeared into thin air, like a professional.

R267, well argued and I’m inclined to agree. The shooter fired a single bullet from 200 yards away and hit Charlie Kirk right in the jugular vein. He was a grifter, and the grift was a right-wing, white supremacy grift intended to radicalize lazy, dumb, underachieving young white men. Convincing them that their failure in life is because Black people were 'given' the opportunities that belonged to white people. All to distract from the truth -- the oligarchy is eliminating traditional pathways to prosperity for all Americans. There will be no middle-class, just the ultra-rich with the rest of us completely beholden to them.
BTW, Kirk had a net worth of $12 million dollars, so he was laughing all the way to the bank. Well, until yesterday.

I was watching our local news tonight (Ottawa) and they reported on Kirk’s death. They showed a clip of Trump speaking to his murder and the first thing out of his mouth was to blame the “radical left.” This guy doesn’t get it - or care. Things are never going to change in the States with one group always blaming the other. They do that here in Canada as well, but our Prime Minister is nothing like Trump. I’m old enough to remember previous presidencies. Presidents tied to unite the country, not create further divide it. Kirk will be made a martyr, by Trump and the conservatives.

I'm very curious about the killer's intended target on Kirk's body. Hitting the jugular or carotid kept the mess to a minimum and possibly severed his spinal cord, keeping his suffering to a minimum, as well as mitigating the levels of audience trauma. Was that the point?
If the killer had hit his head, the explosive impact would have showered dozens with blood, brain, and skull matter for yards in circumference, leaving a lot of beachy wave-haired girls picking out dried matter from their scalp and mouths for years to come.
Why didn't he go for a head shot? So as to leave people minimally traumatized while still getting the job done? Or maybe he wasn't such a good shot and missed the larger skull that had more explosive potential?

From 200 yards away, a long gun's projectile's velocity and generated heat will explode and disintegrate a target upon impact. Especially if it's the bullet's hollow-tipped intent is to explode the victim from within.
I'm old enough to know when police departments loathed and lobbied against that type of ammunition. Like way back in the early 90s.

I just think it's so fitting that Charlie's one lasting legacy will consist of bleeding out on camera for the entertainment of billions of gore hounds.

I'm an American of legal drinking age, but I never even heard of this man before yesterday. I turned on the TV and saw the breaking news and had to look up who this Charlie Kirk was. I guess that's the result of hardly ever watching news channels or following politics. However, this event makes it a scary time to be a celebrity, sports figure, politician, etc. There is always some nut out there with a grudge or mental illness.

R331, consider yourself lucky if you hadn't heard of him until now. He was filled with hate for gays, trans, immigrants, black people, and women

They have video of the shooter running across the roof and jumping off and then running across a parking lot. They have a palm print, finger prints and a shoe print. They have the gun. It shouldn't be too long until they catch him.
