I always thought Daniel Goddard was hot on Y&R.

He's a handsome guy, but a bit of a wet noodle in the acting department.

Picking up from the last thread - Mo “staring down” a brand new Chad Duell during intense courtroom scenes to fuck with him tells me everything I need to know about this man. He’s a piece of shit and he’s been an absolute cancer for this show. And I’m not even a fan of Duell.

If the show were to recast Jax with Daniel, or anyone else, it would give Ingo reason to refile his lawsuit about his firing for refusing to take the vaccine.

My guess - Steve and Ingo are not the same. One brings a level of value to the show that the other does not. Plus, I think its only recent that Ingo and Maurice became friendly. Remember, Ingo was anti-Sonny, and Jason eating the show for a long time. I think the Trump thing made them closer.

R19 😁😁 well actually Michele Val Jean sent a message to Tabyana when she was dealing with negativity from fans; she'd have more of a chance than Kelly Monaco to join Beyond The Gates, for Kelly wasn't as close with Michele as other actors were, while Guza didn't really like Kelly, overall. Kelly apparently was interested in Y&R and DOOL, but nothing ever came in the form of direct offers.

The article at r25 about ABC settling the suit with the crew members also says this about Ingo's suit.

And it's now almost a certainty that Flynn has been hired to play the mysterious character that half of Genoa City has been talking about for the last couple of months who goes by the pseudonym "Aristotle Dumas."

I predict sweeps will include Jordan being killed by Sidwell when he finds out she double crossed him.

James Franco contacted his manager (which happened to be Steve Burton's manager also) and informed him that he wanted to do a soap; once the shock wore off, manager told him that the only soap he should do is GH. James ended up speaking with Jill, etc. which resulted in Matt's job offer being rescinded. Nancy Lee balked at James being cast, expressing her dissatisfaction with everything being turned around in favor of James; however, Matt's casting would've had her involved in yet another Cassadine story, which of course she dreads, but in this particular instance, she was really perturbed with James Franco's casting.

Matt's issues could've contributed to Frank deciding to cast JPS as Valentin, as well as Frank's long-standing admiration for JPS.

I missed a few episodes. Is the only reason the town hates Sidwell because he held Lucky prisoner? Also, does Lucky have a job? How is he making money and paying child support?

R113 Right, the primary reason why he's disliked is because of the situation with Lucky; Jason dislikes him even more for kidnapping Sasha, while holding both her and Carly at gunpoint. Jason also suspects that Sidwell was behind the fire bombing that injured Michael.

Lucky has a job, he works at Charlie's.

This guy playing Sidwell has the chops to successfully walk the line between good and bad, like a Carl Hutchins or Roger Thorpe. They need to let Sonny die under the knife.

Sidwell may be camp but the actor is coming at it with a wink and some style. I like the comparison to Carl Hutchins. Compare this to Mo who is doing the bare minimum and doing it poorly. It’s been said thousands of times (a bunch by me) but it’s time they cut their losses with the Sonny character. The old fraus on Facebook will get over it. I bet they will even like the show more with him gone.

R90, bigotry aside, Goddard would’ve have been smart to be thankful to play a Cane/Traci story — at that point it was probably the only way to salvage the character of Cane.

Someone actually commented to sputtering Mo on a X a few days ago "You have absolutely no energy in your scenes. So incredibly lazy". He responded with "I'm sure that makes you happy". It was under one of his posters for his upcoming personal appearances.

The show really needs to recast Spencer to counter the rampant gerontology on display. They’ve tried adding younger characters, but Gio and Kai are just blandly nice. Spencer was a multi-dimensional character, a romantic lead who was also a snobbish hothead and a wounded little boy.

Emma, however, has some complexity, and Braedyn Bruner is quite capable. Pairing her opposite a good Spencer recast would create a great triangle with her and Trina, and it would help the show regain some of the youthful, romantic energy it lost when Spencer and Esme fell into the Seine.

What kind of emergency did MEK have that has him gone so long? He seems to have a lot of problems.

His sparring with Tracy was entertaining. Now they've got her sparring with Sidwell and Ezra Boyle which isn't as fun.

I hate that they tease Sidwell trying to take over Sonny's place in Port Charles. We all know that will never happen and we are stuck with sputtering Sonny in perpetuity.

Frank has handed out promotions and given jobs to people on GH from within; if he were to leave, his replacement, say, JFP, would come in and maybe get rid of all of his people and call up THEIR old pals and get them jobs.

In fairness to Jill, the name of the other person who hires their pals in soaps and show business is EVERYONE.

Her changes just appear to be more sweeping and often to the detriment of the show.

It’s the writing about what or Kristina that’s atrocious.

The actress could definitely use some lessons in subtlety, but the writing is what has her circling the drain.

She recently mentioned that she's experiencing burnout, since there's a lot of different things she's dealing with personally, so some are wondering if it's having a negative impact on her performances.

Kate Mansi plays Kristina as perpetually angry. Not jut perpetually angry but aggressively angry, out to get anyone who even gives her a side eye. She's having a bad day, so therefore wants you to have one too. All this done with resting bitch face.

That's certainly not the way Lexi Ainsworth player the part. Her Kristine was a bit more passive and a bit of a victim. But she also seemed to be a relatively happy. Definitely wasn't someone determined to inflict pain and misery upon all those around her as Kansi's Kristina is. .

Lexie ainsworth was a non entity. Like watching a dishrag do dishes.

Is block taping the reason why JJ only appears with certain actors and only on certain sets? He just drops in and then heads back to Nashville. What is the point of this return?

I'm somewhat surprised that more fans haven't called out that both Jason and Drew, two characters closer to 60 than 40 (or played by actors who are), are paired with two characters who are supposed to be in their 20s. Nothing about grooming or power imbalances and all the other stuff you usually see in social media.

When occasional viewers tune in, its always good to see faces you recognize. That's one of the great things about soap operas, you can skip a few years, but still tune in to see familiar face and familiar sets and characters you know. That familiarity can be comforting to viewers and can cause them to stick around after a lapse.

Kristen has been playing Maxie for 20 years now. 20 years ago this month. She joined in May 2005.

If what R319 says is true, it beggars belief that after all this time, Frank doesn't understand Liz and what she represents to the audience.

Kelly apparently had conversations with Carmina and her friends, who suggested to her that she reconsider the triangle and request Jason & Sam reunite. Kelly asked Steve if he was interested, but he refused; the writers refused as well, so Kelly went over their heads to the network. The network informed Frank of Kelly's actions, which resulted in him offering up Kelly's termination instead of the looming one for West. Frank wanted Kelly off the show for seven years prior to the firing, for siding with Billy Miller over him, yet he wasn't able to do so, because she had the network backing her until then. This time, there wasn't really anyone to save her.

The network signed off on the firing because they were fed up with her, along with her absences where Lindsay Hartley had to fill in, but Frank was the one who initiated her firing, after unsuccessfully trying to have her fired for seven years.

It took seven years to get rid of sleep walking, mumbling, low energy, monotone zombie Monaco.

Genie was livid and went to the network, which resulted in her status of being on contract reinstated. Ironically, Genie, Nancy Lee and Becky are all pretty close, three of Frank's least favorites.

Kelly was somnambulic in her later years at GH, which was so clearly evident when they recently showed clips of her years ago, when she was lively and dynamic. I think they made the right choice to kill her character and throw good actors playing Dante and Lulu into a complicated story, as shown in yesterday's episode. My biggest gripe is that the show's storylines last one or two weeks. As a result, nothing makes sense. Cyrus disappears and they all believe he was killed. Jason was implicated in "killing" him (with no body!) and then that story vanished. Story after story disappears. The audience needs something to hang on to, not just a series of scenes. I think it's called plot.

No he wasn't hired blindly- the network weren't happy with Chris and Dan as head writers. The network was already planning to replace them once they returned from striking, unless they had stories planned which aligned with their plans to bring back lapsed viewers. The story that was pitched for Jason's return was what ultimately got them canned. The network decided to hire Mulcahey, he was actually first choice; if he had said no, there really wasn't a clear second choice. He was asked his choice of co-hw and he chose Korte. Chris and Dan's firing also occurred when Frank was essentially pacified, with Maurice being neutralized as well. The network was aware of what Mulcahey's vision was, except it didn't align with Frank's nor Maurice's visions, with Korte and Mulcahey having issues as well. Mulcahey wrote a coming out story for Aiden, which was cut by Frank; Elizabeth cut from Jason's return story, Jake vs. Danny being cut, Jake leaving town, etc. were all Frank and Korte going against Mulcahey. It didn't exactly help matters that Frank and Korte were at the studio while Mulcahey was out of state.

The fans weren't exactly receptive to his stories and there are claims of him being sabotaged. One reason that Chris was brought back over Dan is because Dan apparently was planning to sue for wrongful termination, prior to his hiring at DOOL. Speaking of DOOL, Ryan Quan is now on the writing staff at GH.

JJ does not come cheap and it’s shocking how little story he has. His return has had zero impact on the canvas. How does Frank justify this to his bosses? Does he expect the audience to just be grateful that he’s back?

Supposedly, Frank decided to get rid of Dex because he was more popular than Cody; unfortunately Brando primarily was written off also to make Cody and Sasha stick. Evan aka "The Mayor" on set, was liked by everyone and a fan favorite, as opposed to Cody, who's not exactly popular with fans. Frank tried to force Britt and Cody, until Kelly Thiebaud had enough and requested an exit; he then wanted Sasha and Cody, which was so unpopular that the relative idea was a good way to keep them away from each other, irregardless of how the audience would accept Sasha as Holly and Robert's daughter. Molly and Dex were gaining traction, so Dex had to go. Frank doesn't exactly care what the fans think nor want, but the network pays attention, at least to a certain extent.

Eden, btw, requested an action storyline for Josslyn and was informed she'd receive a new love interest. The writers were planning for Dex and Molly to eventually end up together, except Frank wanted Molly with Cody. The WSB story went to Josslyn because of Eden's request, however many believe that the story should've went to Emma.

R480 Frank, Korte are what happened to that storyline. They ushered Jake off canvas, sending him to study abroad. Hudson West was willing to stick around; Patrick Mulcahey even planned a Jake vs. Danny story, with similarities to A.J. and Jason, but Korte didn't want any onscreen connections for Elizabeth and Jason as reminders; Korte, Frank were undermining Mulcahey with his other storyline plans as well.

Jake’s presence would have made the Rocco and Dannys brother thing awkward. Now that Rocco has a real brother I hope they bring Jake back. I know it’s not likely.

Even if there was a no grandmother clause in Denise Alexander's contact, it wouldn't have made any difference because Laura was off screen.

GH's Denise Alexander (Leslie) also had the clause in her contract. (No wonder Luke & Laura had to have little Lucky off-screen).

Rumors whisper of similar deals for Susan Lucci (Erica; AMC) and Michelle Lee (Karen; KL).

So, Gloria Monty essentially fired Denise because she only wanted to work two days a week rather than three days a week. How bizarre.
