With demographic shifts, the best that can be hoped for is a slight Dem majority with Synema/Manchin types essentially maintaining the status quo as they protect their chances of re-election. Certainly better than a GOP-led Senate but much needed legislative changes are off the table.

Progressive politics will only really occur at the state level.
