Woohoo, OP
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Let’s go!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 23, 2024 3:00 AM |
Gretchen is a hottie!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 23, 2024 3:02 AM |
My bet is the special guest is Beanie Feldstein.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 23, 2024 3:08 AM |
Adam!
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 23, 2024 3:09 AM |
Love the green tie.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 23, 2024 3:09 AM |
Jesus Christ, when the hell does Kamala speak? 12:30?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 23, 2024 3:10 AM |
I'm here for him dragging Trump, Vance, and the dregs of the Republican party.
So hot.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 23, 2024 3:14 AM |
And that, ladies and gents and everything in between, is an actual patriot.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 23, 2024 3:17 AM |
[quote] Any Intel on why Gavin didn't get a speaking slot?
He's not that great?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 23, 2024 3:17 AM |
Adam K. has Beady eyes and they're quite close together.
Neuro-Divergent?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 23, 2024 3:17 AM |
I wonder if Aaron and Adam ever found man love in the locker room.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 23, 2024 3:17 AM |
Here’s her sister, so we’re getting close!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 23, 2024 3:18 AM |
Man, her sister is also gorgeous.
They really hit the genetic powerball.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 23, 2024 3:18 AM |
I love Maya’s suit.
Great color!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 23, 2024 3:18 AM |
Agreed, R17.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 23, 2024 3:19 AM |
Where's Lizsha?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 23, 2024 3:20 AM |
Coming up:
Roy Cooper
Then the lady herself!!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 23, 2024 3:20 AM |
Is Doug speaking before Kamala?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 23, 2024 3:20 AM |
Adam Kinzinger is cute even though he wears those dress shoes with sneaker soles.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 23, 2024 3:20 AM |
GURRRRRL, ..... Maya you are NO Michelle Obama.
Give it up, gurl.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 23, 2024 3:20 AM |
Adam K looks like he put on the Freshman 15 this summer.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 23, 2024 3:20 AM |
What happened to the surprise mystery guest?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 23, 2024 3:20 AM |
R26: IT WAS EVA ALL ALONG!!!
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 23, 2024 3:21 AM |
Yeah, the sister is very pretty, but she's not a great public speaker. Go away now and get to Kamala already.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 23, 2024 3:21 AM |
Cooper is a handsome daddy
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 23, 2024 3:22 AM |
R20 Replaced by Joyce DeWitt. She's the surprise guest. She will come out tapping and singing "New York, New York".
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 23, 2024 3:22 AM |
Cooper is introducing Kamala.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 23, 2024 3:22 AM |
Maybe the guys is Cooper?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 23, 2024 3:22 AM |
The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Beyonce was never scheduled to attend...?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 23, 2024 3:22 AM |
GUEST. Jesus.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 23, 2024 3:22 AM |
R34: Que?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 23, 2024 3:23 AM |
Maybe Bey will sing Freedom as Kamala walks out
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 23, 2024 3:23 AM |
Maya needs to drop the hood-speak.
It comes across as fake and trying too hard.
She was raised by an Indian mother, so I know that Maya and Kamala weren't raised to speak hood.
Just be yourself!
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 23, 2024 3:23 AM |
Well then who the hell is the surprise guest?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 23, 2024 3:23 AM |
Looks like they wanted to make sure Kamala's speech got into prime time tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 23, 2024 3:24 AM |
Leon Panetta.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 23, 2024 3:24 AM |
Cooper looks like a clean-shaven, well shorn Jeff Bridges.
Would have been weaker than Walz as a running mate.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 23, 2024 3:25 AM |
[quote] Well then who the hell is the surprise guest?
Her dead mother, Rose!!!
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 23, 2024 3:25 AM |
Oakland was the hood, R37.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 23, 2024 3:25 AM |
Maya graduated Stanford law. I figured they’d get intensive speech coaching. Guess not
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 23, 2024 3:25 AM |
Gwen Walz must have taken lipstick advice from Gretchen Whitmer.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 23, 2024 3:25 AM |
So who's introducing her?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 23, 2024 3:26 AM |
This Cooper guy is kind of a weak opener.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | August 23, 2024 3:26 AM |
This ASL guy is killing it!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 23, 2024 3:26 AM |
Ok darlin', do your thing.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 23, 2024 3:26 AM |
[quote] singing "New York, New York".
Hey that'sh my shong!
by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 23, 2024 3:27 AM |
Maya really has her eye on the White House dining table - for Thanksgiving dinner, 2025. She'll praise her sister all week long - just give her a seat at the table.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | August 23, 2024 3:27 AM |
R44, there is no such thing in law school.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | August 23, 2024 3:27 AM |
I'm not heartbroken over the Bey news.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | August 23, 2024 3:27 AM |
So there's no guest?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | August 23, 2024 3:27 AM |
Will she wear a white suit??
by Anonymous | reply 55 | August 23, 2024 3:28 AM |
I got no hook speak from Maya. The only problem is Shapiro doing Obama. Why he wasn't picked!
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 23, 2024 3:28 AM |
Don’t tell me they dangled a surprise guest just to get people to tune in.
Good grief.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 23, 2024 3:28 AM |
Cooper is ok looking but Adam Kinzinger looks like he can fuck
by Anonymous | reply 58 | August 23, 2024 3:28 AM |
Cooper is fine. But an odd lead-in
by Anonymous | reply 59 | August 23, 2024 3:28 AM |
Is it inconceivable that the surprise guest comes on after Kamal's speech to bring an even bigger finish to the week?
by Anonymous | reply 60 | August 23, 2024 3:28 AM |
R43 listen to Maya speaking in this video intro.
She's speaking normally in this video.
Perfect example of code-switching.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | August 23, 2024 3:29 AM |
Is Pink's they/them child non binary or no labels?
by Anonymous | reply 62 | August 23, 2024 3:29 AM |
You need to kick that fucking door down.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | August 23, 2024 3:29 AM |
I think it's good that the elevated mood is brought down a bit before VP Harris.
That way she can build it up by her own words and presence.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | August 23, 2024 3:29 AM |
Flopyoncé in 3, 2…
by Anonymous | reply 65 | August 23, 2024 3:29 AM |
Surprise! There is no guest!
by Anonymous | reply 66 | August 23, 2024 3:30 AM |
“Kick that fucking door down.”
by Anonymous | reply 67 | August 23, 2024 3:31 AM |
KAMALA!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 68 | August 23, 2024 3:31 AM |
Does the choice of Cooper as lead-in mean that the campaign is gunning for NC?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | August 23, 2024 3:31 AM |
Here she is!
by Anonymous | reply 70 | August 23, 2024 3:31 AM |
Maybe it's Jesus. His sense of time has always been a little different.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | August 23, 2024 3:31 AM |
[quote]Perfect example of code-switching.
Perfect example of pandering.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | August 23, 2024 3:31 AM |
If you are running for President you really don't want a bigger star upstaging you on your big night.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | August 23, 2024 3:31 AM |
IT WAS KAMALA ALL ALONG!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 74 | August 23, 2024 3:31 AM |
Yes, r69
by Anonymous | reply 75 | August 23, 2024 3:31 AM |
I heard it's Bush walking on stage with Taylor amd Bey!!
by Anonymous | reply 76 | August 23, 2024 3:32 AM |
She should have worn green....
by Anonymous | reply 77 | August 23, 2024 3:32 AM |
Wearing navy blue.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | August 23, 2024 3:32 AM |
New ASL person.
She’s very excited.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | August 23, 2024 3:32 AM |
That's it? She looks like she wandered out on stage looking for her glasses and ended up at the podium.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | August 23, 2024 3:32 AM |
Her hair looks fabulous. Love the color and highlights.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | August 23, 2024 3:32 AM |
Ella crying
by Anonymous | reply 82 | August 23, 2024 3:33 AM |
All navy - I would've liked to have seen that broken up with an ivory or white/cream camisole underneath. But her makeup is ON POINT. Hair perfect as usual.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | August 23, 2024 3:33 AM |
She should have worn more color.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | August 23, 2024 3:33 AM |
She took no chances with her choice of suit color.
I get the necessity of that but I'm a bit disappointed.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | August 23, 2024 3:33 AM |
She looks terrific.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | August 23, 2024 3:33 AM |
I’m surprised the roof hasn’t blown off.
This is astonishing.
We are back.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | August 23, 2024 3:33 AM |
Doug is anxious for her
by Anonymous | reply 88 | August 23, 2024 3:33 AM |
Wow, Kamala’s brother in law is handsome.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | August 23, 2024 3:33 AM |
by Anonymous | reply 90 | August 23, 2024 3:33 AM |
Did she wear green the last time?
by Anonymous | reply 91 | August 23, 2024 3:34 AM |
I’m verklempt
by Anonymous | reply 92 | August 23, 2024 3:34 AM |
WHAT is with the weird gold-brown colored carpeted background behind her? Who chose that?
by Anonymous | reply 93 | August 23, 2024 3:34 AM |
So, no surprise?
by Anonymous | reply 94 | August 23, 2024 3:34 AM |
[quote]Is Pink's they/them child non binary or no labels?
I think she's just tomboyish, like Pink is. The girl is only 11 or 12.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | August 23, 2024 3:34 AM |
It's actually JFK Jr back from the dead.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | August 23, 2024 3:34 AM |
Doug Emhoff looks like Ed Koch.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | August 23, 2024 3:35 AM |
I am loving it all but the “USA! USA! USA!” just makes me think MAGA and Trump rallies.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | August 23, 2024 3:35 AM |
Aww, fuck.
Shout out to Dougie.
I’m gonna start crying again
by Anonymous | reply 99 | August 23, 2024 3:35 AM |
I think Beyoncé's coming out to sing "Freedom" during the balloon drop.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | August 23, 2024 3:35 AM |
I think she looks great in dark blue against the gold background.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | August 23, 2024 3:35 AM |
I think Beyonce is there to come out and sing "Freedom" after her speech - agree with r100.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | August 23, 2024 3:36 AM |
While I'm a little disappointed in the navy suit perhaps signaling business as usual is the right choice.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | August 23, 2024 3:36 AM |
I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but I heard that Terri Gibbs was spotted at O'Hare earlier this evening.
by Anonymous | reply 104 | August 23, 2024 3:36 AM |
I won’t be surprised if R100 is right.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | August 23, 2024 3:36 AM |
We are reclaiming that R98
by Anonymous | reply 106 | August 23, 2024 3:36 AM |
Yeah, it would be insane to have the speech follow Beonc
by Anonymous | reply 107 | August 23, 2024 3:37 AM |
That navy suit is gorgeous - looks expensive af.
Like that guy in Jurassic Park said, "This suit cost more than your education."
by Anonymous | reply 108 | August 23, 2024 3:37 AM |
I’ve never seen Doug cry before. The stakes are so high.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | August 23, 2024 3:37 AM |
She's a stunner.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | August 23, 2024 3:37 AM |
[quote]I am loving it all but the “USA! USA! USA!” just makes me think MAGA and Trump rallies.
You think they should chant PERU! PERU! PERU! instead?
by Anonymous | reply 111 | August 23, 2024 3:38 AM |
Great smile, confident body language. She's locked in!
by Anonymous | reply 112 | August 23, 2024 3:38 AM |
She looks stunning; that navy blue looks great on her. Brings out her golden skin tone.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | August 23, 2024 3:38 AM |
So I assume this special guest is after her speech?
by Anonymous | reply 114 | August 23, 2024 3:38 AM |
R111 I can't stop laughing!
by Anonymous | reply 115 | August 23, 2024 3:39 AM |
Run, Kamala!
RUN!
by Anonymous | reply 116 | August 23, 2024 3:40 AM |
Okay, stories about found family always make me cry.
I can’t wait to vote for her.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | August 23, 2024 3:40 AM |
The conversational tone of her speech is brilliant.
Though I hope and expect it will become more fierce and powerful as she goes along.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | August 23, 2024 3:40 AM |
Dump is watching this and that mushroom is now up beside his pancreas.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | August 23, 2024 3:41 AM |
Enough a.ready, who gives a fuck about anybody else at this moment. She’s the one for this moment.
Nobody else is important at this time except her.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | August 23, 2024 3:41 AM |
R98 I disagree. MAGATs and right wingers have totally appropriated patriotism and the flag. Time to take those back.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | August 23, 2024 3:41 AM |
She said ASS!
by Anonymous | reply 122 | August 23, 2024 3:41 AM |
[quote]You think they should chant PERU! PERU! PERU! instead?
Si se puede!
by Anonymous | reply 123 | August 23, 2024 3:41 AM |
She is such a fucking star! Confidence, radiance, warmth, feminine and beautiful but there is no bullshit, nothing cloying.
She’s got it.
by Anonymous | reply 124 | August 23, 2024 3:42 AM |
It's possible that shirt and suit is Ralph Lauren. He offers those tied bow shirts.
by Anonymous | reply 125 | August 23, 2024 3:43 AM |
A wonderfully humane speech.
Kamala Harris for the people.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | August 23, 2024 3:43 AM |
It's going to be Heather Locklear. She's going to give the closing prayer.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | August 23, 2024 3:43 AM |
So no appearance that would constitute a surprise yet? I've been out tonight. Watching KH now.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | August 23, 2024 3:43 AM |
Kamala is absolutely luminous tonight. What a complete badass. Boy did I have her pegged wrong. Those insane 2020 primary debates didn't allow me to know her. But I have been blown the fuck AWAY by Kamala Harris - her swagger, her team spirit - since then. And this feels like a fucking religious movement happening around Kamala. But not a cult. Just a spiritual revival tent vibe, where you feel connection to a Higher Power and to the highest vibrations of the human experience, like love, empathy, hope, honesty, oneness, and unity. Fucking A, this is some powerful shit.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | August 23, 2024 3:44 AM |
We used to call them pussy bows, r125.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | August 23, 2024 3:44 AM |
Pussy bow!
by Anonymous | reply 131 | August 23, 2024 3:44 AM |
She's honing in on the women's vote. Is she going to talk policy?
by Anonymous | reply 132 | August 23, 2024 3:45 AM |
Ella is looking very nice tonight
by Anonymous | reply 133 | August 23, 2024 3:45 AM |
Thank GOD they got her live onscreen before 11 PM eastern time. Good job DNC.
by Anonymous | reply 134 | August 23, 2024 3:45 AM |
If she is the first woman to be President, she’s going set a very high bar for all the women who come after her.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | August 23, 2024 3:45 AM |
Yes, R69, the party is more bullish about their chances in NC than it is about Arizona.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | August 23, 2024 3:45 AM |
Gwen Walz is in tears!
by Anonymous | reply 137 | August 23, 2024 3:45 AM |
She can talk about whatever the fuck she wants!
by Anonymous | reply 138 | August 23, 2024 3:45 AM |
Also, she's close friends with Cooper, yes?
by Anonymous | reply 139 | August 23, 2024 3:46 AM |
I feel like I know Kamala's life story better than I know my own.
And come November, I am going to vote for the strongest, most driven, most successful woman whoever walked this earth:
KAMALA'S MOTHER (dead or alive).
by Anonymous | reply 140 | August 23, 2024 3:46 AM |
[quote]I heard it's Bush walking on stage with Taylor amd Bey!!
Kate Bush? I would swoon!
by Anonymous | reply 141 | August 23, 2024 3:46 AM |
[quote]Gwen Walz is in tears!
That's her default.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | August 23, 2024 3:46 AM |
Cut to Pelosi in the crowd, looking bitchy. We all know she wasn't your plan, Nancy. Deal with it.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | August 23, 2024 3:46 AM |
R132 She already has the women's votes.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | August 23, 2024 3:46 AM |
Great fucking line about trust.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | August 23, 2024 3:47 AM |
R132, I don’t get it. Do we not know what she stands for? Do we not know where Dems stand? How about Dump? Leave the policy talk on the websites. This isn’t the time.
by Anonymous | reply 146 | August 23, 2024 3:47 AM |
They need to wheel out Jimmy Carter’s bed for the finale.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | August 23, 2024 3:47 AM |
Who is the woman sitting to Gavin Newsom's left?
by Anonymous | reply 148 | August 23, 2024 3:47 AM |
R143 It's time for Nancy to butt out.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | August 23, 2024 3:47 AM |
R140: That's Mother Harris to you!!!
by Anonymous | reply 150 | August 23, 2024 3:48 AM |
She's rocking this.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | August 23, 2024 3:48 AM |
Maybe you ought to just head to bed, meemaw R146.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | August 23, 2024 3:48 AM |
The calm, conversational tone is so not to startle anybody tuning in for the first time see what she's all about.
Most viewers right now aren't like us political junkies.
She is introducing herself to them.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | August 23, 2024 3:48 AM |
She’s launching into Julia Sugarbaker terminator mode!
by Anonymous | reply 154 | August 23, 2024 3:48 AM |
R141, I could go for Kate Bush twirling around to "Wow".
by Anonymous | reply 155 | August 23, 2024 3:48 AM |
I love Biden, but, God, it’s an amazing feeling to listen to her and not be afraid that she’s going to choke.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | August 23, 2024 3:48 AM |
I think it will be Janelle Monae. There's never been an event that bitch hasn't shown up to.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | August 23, 2024 3:48 AM |
She's systematically taking all the Republican points away from them (crime, security, etc.).
by Anonymous | reply 158 | August 23, 2024 3:49 AM |
This is a very well crafted speech.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | August 23, 2024 3:49 AM |
Drag him Kamala. Fuckin drag him.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | August 23, 2024 3:49 AM |
Have you all just COMPLETELY lost your maaahnds?
by Anonymous | reply 161 | August 23, 2024 3:50 AM |
by Anonymous | reply 162 | August 23, 2024 3:50 AM |
Reading fat orange for filth!
by Anonymous | reply 163 | August 23, 2024 3:50 AM |
I don’t want to imagine that, dear LADY.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | August 23, 2024 3:51 AM |
If a badass prosecutor can't beat Dump, then we are doomed.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | August 23, 2024 3:51 AM |
She giving Trump his last rites.
by Anonymous | reply 166 | August 23, 2024 3:52 AM |
I adore her and TIm, and I feel like I can breathe for the first time since 2015. It finally feels like the MAGA nightmare is over.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | August 23, 2024 3:52 AM |
Fortunately she can and will r165
by Anonymous | reply 168 | August 23, 2024 3:52 AM |
Are those Gaza bitches yelling in the background?
by Anonymous | reply 169 | August 23, 2024 3:52 AM |
Kamala I'm sure I don't need to tell you this but just as a reminder dump Merrick Garland as AG. I'd like to see Jack Smith in that position but who am I to say.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | August 23, 2024 3:52 AM |
AND THAT MARJORIE….
by Anonymous | reply 171 | August 23, 2024 3:52 AM |
Kamala is CALLING HIM OUT.
Speak the truth, lady.
Speak that truth.
by Anonymous | reply 172 | August 23, 2024 3:52 AM |
Get her, Jade
by Anonymous | reply 173 | August 23, 2024 3:52 AM |
Nancy is on her very short runway of power. The younger, stronger politicians are the way.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | August 23, 2024 3:53 AM |
Trump cannot be looking forward to debating this nasty woman.
by Anonymous | reply 175 | August 23, 2024 3:53 AM |
Headstart!!!!
Woohoo. 🥳🥳🥳🥳
by Anonymous | reply 176 | August 23, 2024 3:53 AM |
Re: R163: "Where's Hunter?"
Pathetic. If I was such a pathetic garbage old bitch, I'd off myself.

You want a big name ? Forget Beyonce and Taylor.
Get Chapell Roan there to perform after Kamala - she will win everyone over.

And to think that one month ago people were so negative about this next election on Datalounge, and look at the way since turned out to be.
Unlike many here I was always pro Kamala. I knew this was coming.

Damn she’s good. I don’t know how someone can walk onto that stage and deliver a speech as smoothly as this in front of all those people. It’s like I’m watching an actress in a great movie, she’s so sharp.

Pelosi wanted an open convention for about 12 hours. To avoid the appearance of a coronation. Everything went better than anyone could have imagined so Pelosi dropped that idea and endorsed her. There’s no feud there. Nancy wants to win. The old girl is orgasming right now.

by Anonymous | reply 208 | August 23, 2024 3:58 AM |
I got off of work early and was lucky to catch Kamala speaking, and goddamit, I teared up when she said, "I accept your nomination". She's got O's swag, but is more approachable (some people thought he was a little too cerebral, and that's how DT got the rubes by speaking to them at their level) . I will be proud to be an American again when she's president.

The MAGA movement won't die that quickly, R207.
There are too many Trump wannabes out there ready to take on his mantle. The far right white "Christian" nationalist movement isn't going to give up so quickly after spending a few decades getting as far as they have.
We'll have to keep fighting them.

One thing I observed with the convention is that there are a lot of very young and bright people interested in politics. It gives me hope for the future. Maybe the silver lining of the whole MAGA/Dump debacle is that it got a lot of people fired up to fight back, more than we've seen in a very long time.
by Anonymous | reply 509 | August 23, 2024 5:38 AM |
R450 - You clearly don't know how this works. For one thing, AOC never said Nancy didn't want Kamala. She said she sits in the rooms where it was discussed and they didn't want Kamala. That means she and her Squad friends and others wanted Biden out and didn't want Kamala. Nancy met with them and lots of other groups. Nancy tells AOC et al she's open to some type of open convention but she knows this is chaos. It was a bone she threw them knowing it wasn't going to happen. Joe backed Kamala within a half-hour and within a day it was over. Nancy knows one thing - how to count. When she saw enough that she believed Joe had to go, she took her data to him and laid it out. Do you think she didn't also find out where the party was on Kamala? She always knows where the party is. And she knew then. She played along for a day until it was a fait accompli. But she always knew how it would end, with Kamala the candidate. If you don't know this, you don't know Nancy Pelosi.

Hey, r509, I will continue to beat this drum as infinitum.
Back in 2016, Democrats were written off, desolate and demoralized. (See attached article)
But, like the phoenix, we rose from the ashes.
We got fucking MAD AF after seeing that orange traitor attack us, our allies, our friends, neighbors and families.
People who never had any interest in politics suddenly realized that if that orange fool could run, THEY could run. and WIN. Young people, especially, got mad and got busy!
We wiped the floor with those cunting thugs in 2018 and so many wonderful people found themselves holding office for the first time.
They found their feet, hit their stride, and importantly, are mentoring others to follow them.
We now have a young, hungry deep bench and I do hope we have learned our lesson. Don’t stop, no resting in your laurels and keep mentoring the next generation.

Where was DL fav Stacey Abrams during the convention? Has her rising star peaked? Because compared to some of the other speakers, you'd think she'd rate a slot and I thought she was regarded as critical to Georgia turnout?
I checked DL other fav Nina Turner's twitter. She was complaining throughout about Gaza. One reference to Harris... to criticise about Gaza. I'd guess her future is nothing but independent bids for president.
by Anonymous | reply 561 | August 23, 2024 2:26 PM |
I know this sounds cruel, but I’m sick of Gaza and I am sick of it being discussed as an issue in this election. Of course, the best course of action is for both sides to sit down and figure out a long term solution. But it’s up to them, not us to bring that about. There is no magical solution that the US can—or is willing to—offer to make that happen. Otherwise we would have done long, long ago.
Hoping I don’t derail the conversation. I am sooo hopeful this morning. And don’t think I forgot 2016. I will be out there giving money and volunteering, which I did a little of in 2016, but always felt guilty that I didn’t do enough.

Jonathan Chait is no Bari Weiss, R585. And here's are a couple of excerpts from his most recent column:
[quote] Kamala Harris rose to the occasion with a perfect nominating acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. I’ve never seen a nominee target their political objectives so precisely. The text was ideally suited to the electoral challenge she faces, and her delivery exuded strength and inspiration.
[quote] Harris’s delivery enhanced the message. She was forceful and confident. She sounded like a nominee who believes she is going to win and who is designing a campaign focused relentlessly on that goal. The floundering incipient candidate of 2019, trying desperately to please progressive activists with social-justice lingo, could not be a more distant memory now. Harris is in this to win this. And I believe she will.
