Trump Tells Us He'll Be Arrested Next Tuesday

This asshole is also calling for riots again. I hope the federal government and National Guard are paying attention. This could be bad.

by Anonymousreply 603March 21, 2023 2:43 AM

And just like that, DeSantis became President.

by Anonymousreply 1March 18, 2023 12:14 PM

See You Next Tuesday...

by Anonymousreply 2March 18, 2023 12:16 PM

Seems like the last thing he'd want to do is try to incite another insurrection but Donnie has never been known for his smarts.

by Anonymousreply 3March 18, 2023 12:17 PM

I just hope that before he gets arrested he unloads more shit on DeSantis.

by Anonymousreply 4March 18, 2023 12:17 PM

R3 He's a fucking idiot. Well, if blood gets spilled again, add another charge to his long list of crimes.

by Anonymousreply 5March 18, 2023 12:18 PM

Trump says it's going to be wild! Wink, Wink.

He's asking for protesters.

by Anonymousreply 6March 18, 2023 12:19 PM

He has between now and then to "do the right thing".

by Anonymousreply 7March 18, 2023 12:20 PM

Damn, the day AFTER my birthday? Could we move this up to Monday? Pretty please?

by Anonymousreply 8March 18, 2023 12:22 PM

Don't be surprised if people do take to the streets - to celebrate!

by Anonymousreply 9March 18, 2023 12:24 PM

Happy burfday.

by Anonymousreply 10March 18, 2023 12:24 PM

That's a shame...haha...

by Anonymousreply 11March 18, 2023 12:25 PM

Eh, she's a ma birthday too!

by Anonymousreply 12March 18, 2023 12:26 PM

I hope he starts spilling the details on every Republican as he’s being arrested.

by Anonymousreply 13March 18, 2023 12:26 PM

Even from jail, he'd probably do better than DeSantis in primaries. GOP in 2023.

by Anonymousreply 14March 18, 2023 12:26 PM

Don Trump Jr. Coked up as high as the sky in 3, 2,1,...

by Anonymousreply 15March 18, 2023 12:27 PM

Now that he's spilled the beans, I hope the Manhattan DA changes the arrest date to Monday and surprises Big Orange at Mar-A-Lago before he's had a chance to put on his yak hair.

That'd make a great mugshot!

by Anonymousreply 16March 18, 2023 12:27 PM

The NY case is weak sauce. Sure he's guilty but it should be a civil offence and the public doesn't care much about this crime. Arrest him for the Georgia crimes, which are extremely serious.

by Anonymousreply 17March 18, 2023 12:27 PM

No time to comment, gay boy. Must pack bags.

by Anonymousreply 18March 18, 2023 12:29 PM

Hillary: Lock HER up? LMFAO would you like to barrow my orange jumpsuit Donald? I never wore it.

by Anonymousreply 19March 18, 2023 12:31 PM

Kitara DeSantos thinks he will be permitted to sashay in the Whitehouse in his chacha heels.

by Anonymousreply 20March 18, 2023 12:32 PM

Trying to wrap my head around how Trump thinks George Soros funds the Manhattan DA's office. (My gut is he knows the very mention of Soros's name throws his base into a frenzy. If Soros did even 1/20th of the things he is accused of, he'd need to be awake for 20 hours of every day.)

It will also be interesting because the media has been pushing a new "DeSantis is the new Scott Walker/Jeb Bush" narrative this past week (Walker and Jeb were regarded as front-runners but both imploded largely due to not being very good with people and poor campaigners.)

The good news is that Trump's base is both shrinking and becoming much more hardcore, which makes it easier for conservative leaning independents to just say NO to Trump.

by Anonymousreply 21March 18, 2023 12:32 PM

Anyone who supports Trump could care less about this potential indictment and arrest. There is NOTHING Trump could say or do to turn his supporters away from the cult movement.

by Anonymousreply 22March 18, 2023 12:33 PM

He's guilty of all sorts of tax frauds, it may seem weak compared to the more serious crimes he's engaged in but don't forget, some of the biggest MOB bosses in history were put away in prison for tax fraud, not murder.

by Anonymousreply 23March 18, 2023 12:33 PM

[quote] Trying to wrap my head around how Trump thinks George Soros funds the Manhattan DA's office.

R21, it doesn't have to sound true or be true, Trump just needs to say it and his followers will believe him, or think it's possible. Just like Trump did when suggesting that Ted Cruz's father may have had something to do with the JFK assassination.

by Anonymousreply 24March 18, 2023 12:35 PM

Wonder if he has truly been told to expect an indictment on Tuesday, he's panicking, and this is a kind of cry for help to try to stop it from happening?

Or is he making this up, banking on NOT being arrested on Tuesday, so he can claim he did something really super big and terrific which "saved America"?

I hope it's the former.

by Anonymousreply 25March 18, 2023 12:35 PM

R22-;I do not believe it about trump to them. It is an excuse for them to be violent.

by Anonymousreply 26March 18, 2023 12:35 PM

So does Stormy get visitation rights or Milania? They are both prostitutes, are they allowed to visit inmates?

by Anonymousreply 27March 18, 2023 12:35 PM

it still blows me away that the Clintons and the Trumps were once the best of friends who socialized together often to the point that Bill and Hillary played a prominent part in his wedding ceremony when he tied the knot with The Slovenian Whore.

Point being so much of what went down between them was personal, it wasn't just politics-- this is something the media kind of let slide, mostly because it made both sides look bad.

by Anonymousreply 28March 18, 2023 12:35 PM

[quote] Trying to wrap my head around how Trump thinks George Soros funds the Manhattan DA's office. (My gut is he knows the very mention of Soros's name throws his base into a frenzy. If Soros did even 1/20th of the things he is accused of, he'd need to be awake for 20 hours of every day.)

He's just using buzzwords his followers will respond to. All Trump does is pushing people's buttons. I am sure next he will accuse Hillary and Obama of planning to kill him while he's in some liberal prison Soros built just for this purpose.

by Anonymousreply 29March 18, 2023 12:36 PM

2 days ago an MSNBC legal analyst said the indictment would happen by Monday at the latest. Funny how these leaks work . . .

by Anonymousreply 30March 18, 2023 12:37 PM

[quote]the Clintons and the Trumps were once the best of friends who socialized together often to the point that Bill and Hillary played a prominent part in his wedding ceremony when he tied the knot with The Slovenian Whore.

They were social acquaintances while their daughters were friends, and the Clintons didn't play any kind of prominent role in the wedding, they were simply guests.

by Anonymousreply 31March 18, 2023 12:38 PM

Does he still have Truth Social? What platform is he ranting on?

by Anonymousreply 32March 18, 2023 12:39 PM

In the statement Fatso Trump mentions that no crime could be proven .... he doesn't say no crime was committed. What a POS.

by Anonymousreply 33March 18, 2023 12:40 PM

Elon Musk weighs in.

by Anonymousreply 35March 18, 2023 12:40 PM

I think all but the most feverant of his supporters have moved on. The dynamic now is much different than it was in November 2020 and January 2021

by Anonymousreply 36March 18, 2023 12:40 PM

It is 100% about Trump R26

It's a cult

He is their Jesus, the only one who cares about them, the only one who sticks up for them

He is the one who will cure their Oxy addicrted children

He is the one who will magically make the local factory reopen

He is the one who will get their ex-husband to pay child support

He is the one who will make the college educated meritocrats in the next town stop treating them like they were the same as The Coloreds.

by Anonymousreply 37March 18, 2023 12:41 PM

He wants to be arrested. He wants that photo in cuffs. He needs a way to activate the base and knows an arrest will activate the otherwise stay-homes.

by Anonymousreply 38March 18, 2023 12:41 PM

STFU Elon, no one likes your anymore.

by Anonymousreply 39March 18, 2023 12:41 PM

Hillary cultists like R31 weighing in

by Anonymousreply 40March 18, 2023 12:41 PM

Sure Elon, and you cant do business in California because it's not a business friendly state. What, you just announced you are moving back to CA? On video with Gavin no less. Well so much for your predictions.

by Anonymousreply 41March 18, 2023 12:42 PM

by Anonymousreply 44March 18, 2023 12:44 PM

He will play it as being a martyr against the liberal enemies of America and will become even more popular amongst the cretins, loading up his coffers with money and attending his rallies in droves.

by Anonymousreply 46March 18, 2023 12:44 PM

Is this related to the Sherry Netherland fire?

by Anonymousreply 47March 18, 2023 12:45 PM

Remember that his cult still fervently believe that he won, regardless of how much it's been disproven.

Watch this video which was just released this month and is trending on Twitter.

That is his base.

THE GOOD NEWS: There are enough of them to win most GOP primaries because they are motivated. But as we learned in 2022, there are not nearly enough of them to win a general election.

by Anonymousreply 49March 18, 2023 12:47 PM

They should not wait until Monday. That gives him all weekend to work his cult into a bloody frenzy.

by Anonymousreply 50March 18, 2023 12:47 PM

Exactly R45

He just got back on Facebook because it's an easy way for him to fundraise among his base of elderly white people

What does it matter? He will be out on bail and back at Trump Tower in less than two hours. What is the maximum sentence here? He probably won't go to jail for this. They need to indict him in Georgia and the Slimeball needs to stay in jail.

Does he still get Secret Service protection in jail?

by Anonymousreply 55March 18, 2023 12:50 PM

[quote] He is their Jesus, the only one who cares about them, the only one who sticks up for them

He didn't pardon a single 01 / 06/ insurrectionist on his way out. But he managed to pardon people who paid him.

His lack of response and protection really pissed off a lot of them, and only the most angry remain.

by Anonymousreply 56March 18, 2023 12:51 PM

Is he trying to start another 1/6 with that post? What an idiot.

by Anonymousreply 57March 18, 2023 12:51 PM

Yes R52

In the past month or so I have had three conversations with clients (tech companies) who say they no longer monitor Twitter that they just have an automated program push out company news but that they now regard it as largely irrelevant.

by Anonymousreply 58March 18, 2023 12:51 PM

Following up on R48, R's can't afford to lose that many Trump cultists in November 2024. If he goes down as a martyr, they're up the creek in some swing states.

by Anonymousreply 61March 18, 2023 12:52 PM

[quote]Wouldn't Trump want to surrender privately to avoid him being escorted by police,

He knows he cant avoid the public pic leaking out, so instead he is doubling down asking people to protest hoping for another insurrection type event to save him.

by Anonymousreply 62March 18, 2023 12:52 PM

I am sure they have some justification for that too R56, some reason he wanted to pardon the 1/6 folks but The Woke Liberals prevented him from doing so

by Anonymousreply 73March 18, 2023 12:57 PM

That raging narcissist is loving this.

by Anonymousreply 75March 18, 2023 12:58 PM

Yes R17, the Georgia stuff is way bigger, but he could land in jail for a few years for the hush hush money.

I hope they don't put him away in the next 1 1/2 years. He's the distraction and the chaos agent the republicans don't want during the election and that will only benefit Biden and Dems.

by Anonymousreply 76March 18, 2023 12:58 PM

[quote]He probably won't go to jail for this.

Probably true, primarily because he has Secret Service protection, and I think it would be easy enough to argue that it would be far easier to monitor his whereabouts plus have government agents with him at all times, rather than trying to incarcerate a former president. No one wants to deal with that kind of logistical and security headache.

by Anonymousreply 77March 18, 2023 12:59 PM

We 100% want him in there fucking up the GOP

His base are not they typical Republican voters

They are blue collar populists and isolationists who distrust the Chamber of Commerce style traditional Republicans almost as much as they distrust "woke liberals"

Or, there was a reason that "Nazi" stood for "National Socialist" - that's the populist part of Trumpism

by Anonymousreply 82March 18, 2023 1:02 PM

I don't think Trump will allow the media to show him as weak. I am sure the lawyers are busy to negotiate a way of him saving face by handing himself over to the authorities in private without media attention ... only for him to flee the country at the last minute, claiming unjust prosecution as an excuse for the move.

After NBC revealed that indictments were probably coming early next week, one of Trump's attorneys was on the news (I don't remember which channel, sorry) saying there would be no drama, he would just turn himself in.

I think it was the same attorney who insisted that if he was indicted, it would guarantee his election in 2024. I remember snorting out loud at that.

Re: My comment at r103

[quote]Donald Trump’s lawyer Joe Tacopina said on Friday that the former president would surrender without protest if indicted on criminal charges over alleged hush money paid out to porn star Stormy Daniels—sent down from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office. “There won’t be a standoff at Mar-a-Lago with Secret Service and the Manhattan DA’s office,” Trump attorney Joe Tacopina told Daily News reporter Molly Crane-Newman. That news follows NBC News reporting earlier in the day that law enforcement agencies are preparing for a possible Trump indictment to drop as early as next week.

In A Hell of A Story Mrs. Kathy talks about how the Justice Department kept asking her attorney when Kathy would be turning herself in for arrest even though it had been established she hadn't broken any laws. Her attorney told her that they wanted to get the footage of her in the orange jumpsuit doing a perpwalk. She told her attorney that to whatever he could to prevent that from happening, even if it meant she had to sell everything she owned to pay him. She said there's no way anyone was gonna see her doing a perpwalk when she hadn't broken any laws.

He can't be "arrested" in Florida for a New York case unless DuhSantis signs off on the extradition request from the NY governor required here. An indictment against him would have to be sealed until the behind-the-scenes legal work is done.

Trump may have been given a heads-up, and his Secret Service team would as well, that an indictment may be signed around Tuesday, and he's crapped out that he'll be "arrested" on that date, incorrectly.

Or NY has gotten a sign that DuhSantis will cooperate. If Trump's situation appears to be in the FL governor's hands, DuhSantis may want to get things out of Florida. But as stupid as DuhSantis is he could also hold things up to make Trump appear in his "protection," which Trump would hate.

Trump may want the attention and spotlight on himself as the "supreme victim of left-wing socialism" - this would permit his fragile psyche to manage his greatest disgrace (just look at how he's never publicly permitted the facts of his election defeat to come out). And so he'd go to NY himself to publicize the situation and try to control the mess's "optics."

Since he's already reusing the insurrection playbook, he's further eroding his actual political position beyond even what an indictment can do. He's redoubling (Hell, it's re-re-re-redoubling.) his most dangerous bullshit, and he'll lose no matter what the response. No "public response" against it and his lack of support will be visible. Selected acts of terrorism by his mob will set him up for the same kind of insurrection responsibilities he's already dealing with, and will be even more evidence against him on the patterns of his illicit actions.

Bring it on, Cunt.

by Anonymousreply 140March 18, 2023 1:42 PM

Nobody is going to riot for Trump anymore. NYC is not Washington D C, the cops will arrest anyone who gets out of line. Plus the arrests of the actual rioters have shown there to be consequences, at least for his white trash fans.

by Anonymousreply 141March 18, 2023 1:44 PM

The dumpster received little native engagement on his platform. His Twitter account would receive hundreds of thousands of responses and retweets even before he was installed in the White House.

He used Twitter to launch his political career.

Which is why, immediately after Stewart Rhodes, now convicted leader of the Oath Keepers, pointed the finger at Trump, way before Rhodes' conviction, Trump couldn't release a statement fast enough that if he is re-elected, he'll pardon his Flying Monkeys.

I have zero sympathy for any Jan 6th Votes Looter who is now sitting in jail, swinging the proverbial tin cup against metal jail bars, while, for the last couple of years, Trump has been swinging a golf club.

I honestly think the anti-Trump and pro-Desantis elements are supporting a possible arrest, hoping it gets rid of him.

Like almost everything they're trying to ban, they may find that Streisand has something to say about it.

I'm hoping he gets arrested, his followers turn out in droves to win him the nomination and then he loses the general once and for all.

Then he can die in prison or something, I couldn't care less.

Ivanka will develop her own overly white & cream toned spas, aimed at the noveau riche mothers of aspiring oligarchs. They’ll be funded with US state secrets. Her Ozempic enemas will transform the original borscht belt babushkas into gilded GILFs. Jared will mysteriously disappear though a Putin style retreat will be filmed by drones being constructed on a remote island.

Donald will get all the best hookers to ruin his satin sheets with their precious bodily fluids and he will pester Vlad to nuke DC. Notice the ignoramus suggesting there are "bots" here simply because people post when the world gives them what they want?

by Anonymousreply 161March 18, 2023 2:08 PM

His spokespeople (and attorneys) were always going to walk back his claim. That's how Trump works, he goes full drama llama then someone else steps in to say that he was only suggesting or speculating or some such thing.

Trump always repeats back what others have said to him. If he panicked like this over being arrested on Tuesday, it's because he was talking to someone, possibly an attorney, who said that the NBC sources saying he could be indicted next week were true, and it could possibly be on Tuesday.

I don't think this is a lie at all. It may be speculation that Trump panicked about, but I don't think it's a lie he concocted himself.

by Anonymousreply 162March 18, 2023 2:10 PM

This accurate observation reminds me of a remark made to me from a Wisconsin white, rural, conservative white guy when he was watching, on January 7th, footage of the insurrection the day before.

Off-topic - I wish Biden would publicly release the letter that Trump left for him in the Oval Office before Trump turned out the lights and closed the front door to the White House.

A close associate of Biden's said they all nagged Biden to read it aloud to them, but Biden wouldn't budge except to say that it was "surprisingly gracious" or words to that effect.

That may be, but, that Trump even wrote it also is act of conceding his election loss.

by Anonymousreply 205March 18, 2023 3:30 PM

It’s a very weak case. A misdemeanor jumped up to a federal offense with tortured reasoning. A NY jury may conflict because he is hated here but it’s going to be overturned. Since it is jumped up it looks like political persecution by Democrats which will make Trump a martyr in Republican eyes. It helps him politically. Stop rejoicing. The Manhattan DA is a moron.

by Anonymousreply 214March 18, 2023 3:39 PM

This from March 9 NYT. It’s behind a paywall so I will quote only the relevant portion. Elsewhere in the article it is stated that the reasoning is novel and will be hard to prove. Also you don’t hold someone in jail without bail on a charge like this. That would really make him a martyr as well as being unfair on the face of it.

In the federal case against Mr. Cohen, prosecutors said that Mr. Trump’s company “falsely accounted” for the monthly payments as legal expenses and that company records cited a retainer agreement with Mr. Cohen. Although Mr. Cohen was a lawyer, and became Mr. Trump’s personal attorney after he took office, there was no such retainer agreement and the reimbursement was unrelated to any legal services Mr. Cohen performed.

In New York, falsifying business records can amount to a crime, albeit a misdemeanor. To elevate the crime to a felony charge, Mr. Bragg’s prosecutors must show that Mr. Trump’s “intent to defraud” included an intent to commit or conceal a second crime.

by Anonymousreply 215March 18, 2023 3:39 PM

Just disappointed this is over Stormy Daniels, which is a trivial matter compared to other crimes he committed. Most people I feel don’t care about that, and it’ll rallly his base around a “witch hunt”. All it reminds me of is Michael Avenatti, in prison himself, everywhere on TV in 2017. I do hope more serious indictments are soon to happen.

by Anonymousreply 216March 18, 2023 3:41 PM

Btw the Atlanta DA’s case is much stronger and on point for election interference. That would hurt him. This is a distraction and will allow him to claim the other case is persecution as well.

by Anonymousreply 217March 18, 2023 3:42 PM

This has been touched on, but for the hardcore Fox News viewers and all the rest of the deplorables, mentioning George Soros is just shorthand for "the Jews," and their accepted alternative fact that Trump's big ass is the only thing blocking Jewish people and their money from total world domination. A houseguest of mine is ALL informed about this via the talk radio indoctrination he participates in all day, and in conversation had actually very little idea of who George Soros is. A while back I saw a truck decal with that Calvin & Hobbes character urinating on the name "Soros," and given the driver's irrelevance in financial circles, at first was unsure how he felt their lives connected. Marjorie Taylor Green expresses the MAGAt view on her twitter feed:

"If the Manhattan DA indicts President Trump, he will ultimately win even bigger than he is already going to win.

And those Republicans that stand by and cheer for his persecution or do nothing to stop it will be exposed to the people and will be remembered, scorned, and punished by the base.

President Trump did nothing wrong and has always fought for the American people, and we all know it, which is why we love him.

Weaponized Government and Political Persecution are new chapters in their playbook and they will use those methods against anyone who stands in their way.

And we are absolutely fed up with the two-tiered justice system or rather INJUSTICE system in America.

The base has had enough of Republicans that won’t stand up for the people and against the Democrats war against Trump, his admin, his supporters, and traditional values.

Biden’s DOJ is coordinating with the Democrat Manhattan DA to arrest Donald Trump, the top Republican Presidential candidate for 2024, and charge him with a fake outdated misdemeanor charge.

It’s ALL FOR POLITICS! This is what they do in communists countries to destroy their political opponents! Republicans in Congress MUST subpoena these communists and END this!

We have the power to do it and we also have the power to DEFUND their salaries and departments!

Enough of this! The American people deserve a government that actually works for them NOT a bunch of self centered communists who bail out their donors, protect the elites, and weld their power to punish their political enemies!"

Did ChatGBT write that rather generic statement from Mister Taylor Greene?

by Anonymousreply 236March 18, 2023 4:01 PM

Yes R230, their ability to overlook the facts that:

A) Trump's favorite child and favorite son-in-law are Jewish,

B) His actualy friend group and biggest donors are almost all Jewish

C) The Trump Organization and his White House staff and Cabinet have many Jews

and still conclude that Trump is somehow saving them from "the Jews" is laughable.

Back when he was just a hotel and real estate guy many people in NYC assumed he was Jewish, that Trump was just short for Trumpowitz-- for better or for worse he does perfectly fit the stereotype of the loud nouveau-riche self-made outer borough businessman of the sort portrayed by Rodney Dangerfield (né Jacob Cohen) in many movies, Caddyshack in particular

by Anonymousreply 237March 18, 2023 4:03 PM

I have a source at Rikers that confirms Trump will be arrested. The head in one of the holding cells is to be painted gold over the weekend.

by Anonymousreply 238March 18, 2023 4:03 PM

MTG really is just a frighteningly stupid woman.

by Anonymousreply 239March 18, 2023 4:03 PM

ChatGPT is too intelligent and sophisticated to emulate her thought processes, R236.

by Anonymousreply 240March 18, 2023 4:03 PM

Read that last paragraph at r233 and tell me how not self-aware, or gaslighting, these people are. Just replace “communists” with “conservatives”. The outrageous projection that Republicans spew and their voters lap up like dogs eating their own vomit. And George Soros? I couldn’t pick him out of a lineup and have only heard of him through the right wing rage machine.

by Anonymousreply 241March 18, 2023 4:05 PM

R239, she’s just a reflection of the activation of the lumpenproletariat in American politics, caused by Trump and his pied piper routine. She’s what they send to congress.

It's been the subject of a few threads here, but there was a fascinating profile of MTG in the Atlantic a few months back.

TL;DR is that no one who has ever known her recognizes who she has become. She was a completely non-political person most of her life, and, more important, non-confrontational. Friends and neighbors and members of her CrossFit gym all remember her as a very nice friendly woman who had zero interest in the wider world and was focused on the here and now- what she was making for dinner, how to improve her pull-up form, where to find a math tutor for her kid. To wit, she had never voted before, not even in 2016.

And unlike Boebert, she is not actually white trash - her father was pretty well off and her husband took her dad's business and turned it into a multimillion dollar operation.

The consensus seemed to be that when her marriage fell apart and her kids grew up and no longer needed her, something snapped, she found Q-Anon and, like many cult members, turned into someone unrecognizable to anyone who'd known her prior.

by Anonymousreply 246March 18, 2023 4:10 PM

It would be nice if they used taking Trump into custody as a way to book him and then charge him in Georgia while they have him. Or book him in NY for something more serious. I don’t know how much good it does to book him and then immediately release him. It just fires up his base.

by Anonymousreply 247March 18, 2023 4:14 PM

It is also fascinating the way the MAGA movement can simultaneously paint Democrats as both Communists and the tool of Wall Street, Silicon Valley and "Woke Corporations" and yet never seem to see the paradox.

by Anonymousreply 248March 18, 2023 4:14 PM

Where's that moron in one of the threads who said Republicans were the ones who expected standards/qualifications when it came to candidates? I couldn't believe anyone wrote that with a straight face.

[quote]Seems like the last thing he'd want to do is try to incite another insurrection but Donnie has never been known for his smarts.

Are you kidding? That's the one thing he wants the most! He wants nothing more than for the history books to write that support for him was so strong that millions took to the streets in violent eruption in support of him.

You cannot underestimate how pissed off he is that the Jan. 6 rioters were a small bunch of losers who failed miserably. Compare how he talked them up earlier in the day to the way he wimped out later in barely acknowledging them. And, of course, no pardons.

R248, and they just ignore Peter Thiel's involvement in SVB.

But is there any surprise? They think a corrupt, elitist, swine from NYC who wants nothing to do with them and would rather be at the Oscars with liberal Hollywood than any of their asses, is one of them. Trump loathes them and they can't see it.

by Anonymousreply 269March 18, 2023 4:32 PM

[quote] B) His actualy friend group and biggest donors are almost all Jewish C) The Trump Organization and his White House staff and Cabinet have many Jews

No and no. Some Jewish donors doesn’t equal “most” and Stephen Miller doesn’t equal “many.” Your argument seems to be that trump isn’t entitled to his anti-semitism the way people on the left are. My argument was everyone is a snake in the trump family.

by Anonymousreply 270March 18, 2023 4:33 PM

"Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump.

I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions."

by Anonymousreply 276March 18, 2023 4:38 PM

by Anonymousreply 278March 18, 2023 4:40 PM

I read some stuff this morning that Trump’s attorneys and the Secret Service have some sort of agreement that Trump will do nothing to interfere with the arrest and will go quietly. If so, has Trump just blown that agreement up in protest, because he disagrees with his attorneys and now wants to make as much ruckus as possible? Then what will the Secret Service do, will they backtrack on their agreement as well? They are probably all MAGATs.

What happens if Trump incites a riot? Nothing? Will they let him go anyway with no additional charges?

by Anonymousreply 279March 18, 2023 4:41 PM

As for the impending violence he's calling for, do the January Sixth traitors really want to get arrested and jailed again? We'll be happy to oblige but I don't think most of them are up for it.

Remember when a maybe-Antifa guy sent out fake announcements for a rally and advertised flag burning and face painting for the kids? Then a small number of Proudboys and assorted scum showed up and stood around in the hot sun all day doing nothing, waiting for Antifa? Good times. I think the best safeguard against rioting in NYC is Trump's devotées own lack of money . . . Washington isn't a terribly long haul for a lot of them, but even being thrifty, they can't swing a trip like that. They will run out of gas riding around Midtown looking for a cheaper station, and the McDonald's prices will kill them even at breakfast.

The Democrats need to use every media opportunity to remind people that this was hush money over an affair he had with a porn star, while married to Melania. He's not a special person that is above the law.

There will be no protests in New York. At most, they would give people part of a block far away from the courthouse to hold up signs.

And you cannot get away with doing any kind of random violence in NY. They will crush and arrest anyone on dime.

I think the plan is to roll out indictments between now and June as follows: - New York - Georgia - DC

He was no doubt expecting a pardon from his boyfriend Trump.

by Anonymousreply 348March 18, 2023 6:43 PM

I love the way he abandoned all of his low-life supporters who answered his call on January Sixth. He could have pardoned them all but he refused to do it. They begged and pleaded with him to do it, still he refused.

Then 1000 of them got arrested and are being tried, fined and jailed for their crimes.

And he's asking for them to come out and get arrested for him again. And he won't lift a finger to bail them out or get them lawyers or anything.

He's an endless black hole of take-take-take and they're a bunch of masochists.

I plan on enjoying the show.

by Anonymousreply 355March 18, 2023 6:59 PM

If they want to throw a fit, it will only harm them in the long run. Just like January 6th blew up in their faces last November.

by Anonymousreply 356March 18, 2023 7:01 PM

I'm neither a Trump fan nor a Republican, but I can understand why their eyes might glaze over every time somebody suggests "the walls are caving in" and "we've got him now" regarding Trump. I don't think it's fanaticism, it's hard-won cynicism. Everybody sat through the 2.5 year Russia investigation that didn't result in Trump's arrest or successful impeachment, so all of these other state-level investigations into his businesses, his taxes, January 6th, Stormy Daniels -- look like a second bite of the apple.

And that's only the half of it. Outside of a few suggestive articles, virtually every attorney who understands criminal law is saying this is small grapes. I think the George Soros discourse is because Soros has backed certain district attorney candidates across the country who seem to have a certain agenda when it comes to the cases they're willing to prosecute. I think DA Bragg is one thing, but I'm not sure. Either way, it doesn't help that narrative if you're really trying to arrest a former President over 1) a case the feds have already punted on and 2) is, at best, a misdemeanor. People forget that the media can cherry-pick and craft whatever narrative they want, but facts are stubborn things. And when you decide to charge someone with a crime, you can't prioritize facts just because it doesn't help the story you want to tell.

My point isn't to defend Trump but I just wish more of these prosecutors/legislators would maybe play 3D Chess before engaging with him. They should seriously ask themselves if they truly think this will result in Trump behind bars. If not, getting into yet another pissing contest with him is only going to keep him relevant and sadly politically viable.

by Anonymousreply 357March 18, 2023 7:03 PM

[quote]Will he be sending parking lot lawyer Alina Habba, corrupt liar Jenna Ellis, runny hair dye Ghouliani, or that mob lawyer from the Sopranos out to defend him this weekend?

Quit trying to make the other 30% the only issue. Crime in America and issues of justice start first with the social world and its various cultural expressions.

[QUOTE]We’ve now studied nearly 700 who have been arrested ... What we see is, over half of those who have been arrested are business owners, CEOs from white-collar occupations, doctors, lawyers, and architects.

From r350 - I really think this MAGAt/Q wave, if you will, with the help of their insular social media, has revealed how rampant sub-clinical mental illness is among the population. While their are higher rates if disorders among lower social classes, mental illness is found on all social strata. I read a feature about MGT and her background in the Atlantic. Her father was a successful businessman/entrepreneur and provided an upper middle class for the family. Later, in his 50s, he wrote a self-published book to prove stock market activity was controlled by weather patterns. Marge didn't fall far from that crazy tree.

MAGATs uniformly display characteristics that are symptoms of a variety of mental disorders: paranoia, anger, envy, black and white concrete thinking, resentment, oppositional behavior that can be violent, magical thinking, extreme emotional reactions, and on and on (please add to the list. I'm sure I've forgotten some) You don't need to be poor or poorly educated to experience these.

Prior to the relative anonymity of SM, a lot of people kept their weird thoughts, resentments to themselves or only some around them. Now, they feel gratified there are so many others. The mutual reciprocal reinforcement rips the lid off the crazy.

Correct. The biggest wildcard here is, should this indictment actually happen (which I'm extremely skeptical about), whether his allies in the NY Pig department go along with this or whether this is their moment of rebellion against the government. Trump shared the below tweet on his social media accounts. There will be resistance to this and it should disavow bootlickers of their fealty to these MAGAt Klansmen once and for all.

My prediction is he's relying on law enforcement to sabotage the prosecutors in some way so this goes away. Pending that, he'll have his puppet McCarthy do the dirty work for him in DC.

The US, not for the first time, is engaged in a cold civil war. This one so far has had the usual occasional posturing skirmishes, active corruption of fundamental principles across many state strongholds of the insurrectionists (more than at any time since the Civil War), and one overt Constitutional Crisis of the first magnitude (much more serious than Watergate).

And we are enduring this situation with little power domestically as citizens, and with the knowledge that China and Russia and Iran and Saudi Arabia and Israel and North Korea and Nigeria and dozens of other countries are collectively insane.

They are stupid people, that's the way I treat them when I come across them in the world - like idiots. We can count on roughly a third of Americans to be stupid people at any given time. The sooner we realize and accept that, the better. Trying to treat them as though they were intelligent is a useless waste of time. Debating them is an exercize in futility, you may as well have a debate with your dog. Mock them, belittle them, laugh at them, do anything but treat them as serious people. Their cooking is trash, their music is trash, the way they dress and wear makeup are trash and the movies they watch are trash. And you know what makes it worse, they don’t have the convenient excuse of being persecuted to soften their “failure” to measure up to their dysfunctional family’s, ignorant community’s and morally bankrupt society’s standards.

So some shameless, trashy, fat, conman comes along and says I’m trashier, dumber, more bigoted and uglier than you ever thought of being. Don’t be ashamed. You and every trashy person you know make America great. It’s the ones who aren’t trashy that are to blame. It worked for Hitler and it worked for Trump.

Has this been in any way confirmed by the prosecution? No, but everybody's going to be pissed if it doesn't happen. Why? Because they read it on the internet, it would happen on Thursday. For sure!

That's how misinformation works, folks.

by Anonymousreply 445March 19, 2023 5:32 AM

Trump is above all else a coward. He will not allow any situation where there is a chance of him being manhandled or subjected to violence if he can avoid it. He will turn himself in, be processed and released and be gone before inciting his followers. He is definitely a lead from behind and in comfort sort of guy.

by Anonymousreply 446March 19, 2023 5:49 AM

I think he wants the perp walk photo for the drama.

by Anonymousreply 447March 19, 2023 6:03 AM

Bullshit. He wants to look strong.

Remember during some opposition rally in Washington, DC he fled into the WH's bunker and when the press reported it he flipped out and made a comment that his security personnel forced him into the bunker and when that didn't work he claimed he was in there for a mandatory inspection? He can't spin a picture of him in handcuffs as him being strong. He will not show himself as weak in his "I am wrongly persecuted!" scheme being manhandled.

by Anonymousreply 448March 19, 2023 6:26 AM

I remember. I also remember that the original project, devised by his own stable genius self was to open his shirt and below would have been a T-shirt with himself as... Superman! But people talked him out of it. Not only has he the cognitive abilities of a nine year old (injecting bleach anyone?) but he has the mind of a nine year old boy. Who gets excited being shown in a Superman suit? Who gets overjoyed fighting in a wrestling contest (and showing your diapers)? Not normal adults. A nine year old? Sure.

Oh and the Superman suit he did a couple of months ago anyway. You know you wouldn't talk him out of it forever.

R420, they are mainly just angry, because they have been repeatedly played and lied to. It has been beaten into their heads over generations that they are the heart and soul of this country, the best sort of person, automatically superior to minorities, that they have a birthright to every first consideration. That they were stupid to buy into it, to enshrine the military service that mostly poor people enter into, to romanticize their employment as the most necessary function, and to believe that anyone who represented them gave a rat's ass about them . . . that's their own fault. They are realizing they don't have shit, but it can't be their own fault, and they would rather double-down than admit they've been had.

by Anonymousreply 453March 19, 2023 12:11 PM

R453 Spot on!

by Anonymousreply 454March 19, 2023 12:17 PM

Actually not so spot on

They feel neglected and ignored and like no one is listening to them.

They grew up in a midcentury America with a huge middle class where everyone felt more or less important and listened to (well, straight white people anyway.) Society wasn't quite so stratified either and people of different backgrounds mixed together more.

But we've now turned into a very stratified society, where the upper middle class, the top say 15% of income earners, live very separate lives, rarely interacting with the middle and working classes whose economic position continues to become more precarious as the jobs that once allowed them to live well have largely disappeared.

And they feel ignored, as if no one is taking their problems seriously, no one is talking to them and caring about them.

Except Trump, who decided to become their champion.

Now it doesn't matter that he lies to them, makes promises he could not possibly keep and very much looks down on them. He is acknowledging them and, for the more desperate ones, that is enough, and why they will forever be loyal to him.

by Anonymousreply 455March 19, 2023 12:27 PM

by Anonymousreply 462March 19, 2023 1:42 PM

[quote] People like Trump get to negotiate their own arrest and surrender to authorities. There will be no televised arrest at Mar a Lago.

Until now, Trump's strategy was to stall and delay. I think negotiating the circumstances of his arrest is the same. He will rather leave the country than stay and go to prison, where his action and control are limited. I imagine Steve Bannon got him a nice set-up in a foreign country where Trump can keep his grift going from there. He can't work his grift from a US prison cell, and I don't think he even trusts his own kids to help him get out of prison and keeping the grift going.

by Anonymousreply 471March 19, 2023 3:14 PM

R461, I did see it, but that's too big of a "well anyway," because -- for all the good times and great oldies -- those were good times for straight white people & almost no one else comparatively. It's the "Again" in MAGA, and they are still being reassured they are really the only people for whom respect and prosperity are birthrights. It's LBJ's "lowest white man" and Oprah's eye-color audience segregation exercise, all that: they are angry because they don't want to disbelieve that they are the most deserving.

What is Trump up to? It's obvious he WANTS to get arrested by the way he is conveying the information. What would he gain if he got arrested? There has got to be something. This reminds me of Truth or Dare when Madonna was performing in Toronto and the police where saying they were going to arrest her after the concert if she did the simulated masturbation scene. You could just tell she was dying to get arrested for the publicity. This all feels similar.

My guess is that the SS will deliver him to the County Jail and he will get mugged, printed and then released on recognizance. He may have to wear an ankle monitor. Not cuffs, no perp walk, no orange jumpsuit. So don't scream when this turns out to be a non event. Trump wants spectacle so he can use it as a campaign ad. Or at the very least to raise money. LOL! He loves being a victim. If he has to be detained for any length of time, they will streamline the process. Trust me. And I will also predict that if he is ever found guilty of his many crimes he will never see the inside of a prison. He will be placed on House arrest with monitoring from Federal Marshals and an ankle bracelet, and have an extremely limited visitors list. He may also be forbidden, as part of his sentence, from using social media etc.

And if the DoJ isn't beefing up its staff to go after MTG, Mc Carthy, Matt Gaetz, Gym Jordan, Ted Cruz, Crawley, and Boebert, and the rest of the Insurrection/Sedition Caucus right now, then Merrick Garland needs to be run out of office. Because the demonstrations at MAL or NYC are the least of it. They're not called the Sedition Caucus for nothing. And they have shown they are capable of holding our government hostage for other reasons. I bet De Santis is really hating the NYC AG. Making Trump a martyr with a spotlight on him, is the last thing De Santis wants.

by Anonymousreply 504March 19, 2023 6:26 PM

I’m leaning towards this whole thing being a non-event. I mean, you never know! Honestly I’d love a giant exciting spectacle. But… this is now happening day after tomorrow and people on the street and media are already focused on other things. Not exactly feeling the world bracing for this.

Fuck the DOJ. Bill Barr politicized that office. His pissant US Attorneys went along with it (save a few exceptions), There were offices that went along with his bullshit including dropping cases against Trump's slimy buddies. Some of them have gotten away with having politicized their own offices and now they're off to white shoe law firms treated like they weren't a part of the most corrupt DOJ in history.

And now Garland is so concerned with perception, that he gives a shit about the shrieks of MAGAt banshees. It took him how long before he appointed a special counsel for Trump. Meanwhile, it took him 5 secs to do the same for Biden and he appoints a former Trump US attorney because he's so fucking concerned with what the right thinks.

by Anonymousreply 508March 19, 2023 6:41 PM

Daily Beast:

Far-right forums have overflowed with ideas on how to keep Trump out of the clink — with one person suggesting Trump supporters should create a “Patriot moat” around the former president’s estate at Mar-a-Lago in South Florida so law enforcement can’t enter.

New York City Police Department sources told The Daily Beast that their officers will be closely monitoring social media as well as intelligence from federal authorities and other police departments to assess the size of any protests.

If a significant demonstration materializes in the next week, NYPD sources said the force may deploy the Strategic Response Group, a roughly 700-hundred-member unit trained in “disorder control.”

All of the bloviating and chatter and bullshit you see and hear on social media, does not translate into actual activity.

I can't wait to see all of these supposed protesters. These people better really love that motherfucker, because NYC isn't the Capitol where you have lots of room to spread out. It'll be a headache for them just trying to get to the area where they plan to protest.

Where exactly do they plan on doing this ? I want to know the address so I can laugh about a bunch of rubes showing up. Is the DA's office near Chinatown? Oh, that should be fun!

by Anonymousreply 517March 19, 2023 8:01 PM

by Anonymousreply 518March 19, 2023 8:07 PM

The media is hyping demonstrations and security, and violence for ratings. Just like they hyped that "Red Wave" in 2022. The hype is the point. It's not about real news.

by Anonymousreply 519March 20, 2023 12:36 AM

He's not getting arrested tomorrow. This is the same shit he pulled when he launched his NFTs.

by Anonymousreply 528March 20, 2023 2:02 PM

The Proud Boys, Oath keepers, and Boogaloo Boys continue to recruit even as many languish in jail including their leaders. And there are splinter groups and factions within those groups agitating for violence. You will never run out of racist, homophobic, women hating, Jew hating, violent lunatics. The wonderful thing is that they are a half step away from anarchy and often fight among themselves. It's a wonder they know when and where to show up. Most of them are not brave and will scurry away when faced with real opposition. In Florida this poses a dilemma for De Santis. On one hand he may want those people to support him, and yet he can't afford to have violence. And he has banned demonstrating too.

by Anonymousreply 529March 20, 2023 3:33 PM

The thing is, if you are photographed and your picture or video makes it to social media, you could lose your job. If you get arrested, it costs money. Depending on the charges you might needa lawyer, and there are fines, and the possibility of going to jail. And maybe they use tear gas and you have to go to the ER. Cha ching! So just showing up to make noise has some pitfalls because you just never know which way things will go. Of course there's always a possibility that some of the cops will sympathize with Trump. A married guy paying off a prostitute and trying to keep it quiet is something they can relate to.

Meanwhile De Santis ordered the fire departments from several surrounding cities to bring fire hoses to spray way the filth and shit left behind from the protesters who are already arguing about seats in a caravan, to drive to NYC complete with flags and banners. A motor cade for the ages. They hoped to be joined by more and more cars as they pass thru various states. My god how exciting....

Nothing would make me happier than to see any Trump protestors at his arraignment mowed down by machine gun fire from law enforcement. Maybe if they'd start shooting to kill the rest of them would wise up and decide it's best they keep their asses at home and their mouths shut.

by Anonymousreply 555March 20, 2023 6:29 PM

[quote]If there are no protests or any protest is tiny, Trump will be completely humiliated.

He'll just claim it was the largest protest ever. Ever. The biggest protest in history. No protest was bigger.

Of course the mainstream media either edited the footage or refused to show you the footage.

At this point it's so predictable.

[quote]It's on.

Lock 'em up!

by Anonymousreply 557March 20, 2023 7:49 PM

Is this really going to happen? I just can’t get my hopes up.

by Anonymousreply 558March 20, 2023 9:01 PM

r558 they said today it would either be today or Wed.

by Anonymousreply 559March 20, 2023 9:02 PM

R558 I don't think it'll happen tomorrow, but I think it'll happen this week.

I believe Trump said it would happen on Tuesday because he wanted to rile up his base, get 'em to protest, riot, disrupt, and cause as much chaos and disruption as possible to distract from the indictment itself.

Funny thing is, besides a few keyboard warriors, it doesn't look like there's much motivation for folks to come out in support of this dumbass. And that's gotta piss him off more than the actual indictment. Not being loved is his biggest nightmare.

by Anonymousreply 560March 20, 2023 9:04 PM

DeSantis is saying that he won't block the extradition, should one be requested.

by Anonymousreply 561March 20, 2023 9:15 PM

I want this to be like the end of Fargo--they pull Fat Donnie from his bed in his stained diapers kicking and muttering incoherently.

by Anonymousreply 562March 20, 2023 9:17 PM

If the prosecutors are smart, they'll demand $$$$$$ penalities in a plea bargain, so that he'd have to dig into the shell game money that might be difficult to trace, or better yet, his kids might have to chip in!

by Anonymousreply 563March 20, 2023 9:32 PM

I don’t want to wait until Wednesday I need this today.

by Anonymousreply 564March 20, 2023 9:36 PM

Was anyone else just watching Robert Costello, Giuliani's lawyer and a tRump ally, give his press conference? He sounded shockingly believable and reliable. This could be a big game changer for tRump's side. Can't wait to hear Michael Cohen's response on Ari Melber at 6 pm.

by Anonymousreply 565March 20, 2023 9:39 PM

[quote]This could be a big game changer for tRump's side.

Oh, Smitty, you always make me laugh!

by Anonymousreply 566March 20, 2023 9:41 PM

Were you watching/listening to Costello, r566? I sincerely hope you're right but I think Costello will convince the jury not to indict.

by Anonymousreply 567March 20, 2023 9:46 PM

Costello sounds like exactly what he is: a Trump hack who is dithering on in generalities.

by Anonymousreply 568March 20, 2023 9:47 PM

Michael Cohen will have his chance to respond shortly.

by Anonymousreply 569March 20, 2023 9:56 PM

R565 Yeah, I watched it. He said nothing that would be a "game changer." Of course, he was gonna say all that. The only reason he went before the grand jury was because Trump told him to. Had he really had any "game changers," Costello would've been before grand jury on his own volition long before today.

Costello said Cohen is a liar. We all know that. That's one of the reasons he went to prison. Cohen has admitted he lied. Cohen has been trying to make things right ever since by exposing the corruption of the Trump regime.

Nothing Costello said is going to prevent Trump's indictment on this charge.

by Anonymousreply 570March 20, 2023 10:00 PM

Relax, r567.

by Anonymousreply 571March 20, 2023 10:01 PM

The only reason I do think his arrest is coming are the barricades going up, plus LEO announcing 700 additional officers this week.

The irony, of course, is that his piggies are mostly locked up right now. So the most violent are already in the clink-clink, and those who have violent potential have a deterrent by seeing hundreds of others in prison for 1/6.

DeSantis holding back from supporting him is also very promising.

by Anonymousreply 572March 20, 2023 10:13 PM

OK, Mikey Cohen is calming me down now, like he always does.....

by Anonymousreply 573March 20, 2023 10:22 PM

Lawyer on radio suggested Trump refuse bail and demand being sent to Riker's Island.

by Anonymousreply 579March 20, 2023 10:31 PM

Re: the tweet at r578:

[quote]Capitol Hill’s police force is preparing for protests ahead of the potential indictment of Donald Trump. The preparations are in line with their planning for other protests.

Which protests? The BLM protests or the January 6 protests? Because we all know they were VASTLY different in both plans and execution.

by Anonymousreply 580March 20, 2023 10:46 PM

Why do his followers need to protect him from arrest if they think he’s innocent? Let him prove in court once and for all that he is. What are they protecting him from?

by Anonymousreply 581March 20, 2023 11:22 PM

Critical reasoning and logical thinking are not really their strong suits, R581.

by Anonymousreply 582March 21, 2023 12:28 AM

[quote] DeSantis is saying that he won't block the extradition, should one be requested.

Yeah, because he doesn't have that power, and he knows it.

by Anonymousreply 583March 21, 2023 12:29 AM

I almost wish his mobs would try something, because I think this time they will get their asses kicked really hard.

by Anonymousreply 584March 21, 2023 12:36 AM

R583 It's not like that's stopped Desantis before. (but it works as a good excuse this time)

by Anonymousreply 585March 21, 2023 12:52 AM

When will fat Donny be arrested for HUSH MONEY to a PORN STAR???

by Anonymousreply 586March 21, 2023 12:57 AM

R586 Hopefully, by week's end.

by Anonymousreply 587March 21, 2023 1:10 AM

Actually, this is pretty humiliating. Of all t he horrible things he has done, he's getting busted for hush money to a porn star.

by Anonymousreply 588March 21, 2023 1:12 AM

R588 Oh, this first indictment is the low hanging fruit. There are more to come - Georgia election tampering, January 6th incitement, classified documents theft...those are gonna be the really fun ones.

by Anonymousreply 589March 21, 2023 1:14 AM

Any chance he will be held overnight? I'd love for him not to have access to his Tresemme hairspray he's reportedly so fond of. Hair all in his face the next day. The pillow in his cell smeared with his pumpkin spice foundation.

by Anonymousreply 590March 21, 2023 1:16 AM

Do prison commisaries sell Day-Glo orange foundation?

by Anonymousreply 591March 21, 2023 1:20 AM

R590 Unfortunately, no. For a crime like this, he'll be brought in, fingerprinted, and released. He *will* get a mugshot, though, and I can't wait to see that.

by Anonymousreply 592March 21, 2023 1:22 AM

[quote]Do prison commisaries sell Day-Glo orange foundation?

The prison substitute involves ground-up Cheetos and vaseline.

Without making up jokes I wonder what words of endearment Trump said to Stormy while he was going in and out of her. Or did he just make noises like some low farm animal ? Did Stormy ever talk about that?

by Anonymousreply 596March 21, 2023 1:33 AM

I haven't been able to follow the story today. What's the latest? Will he be arrested tomorrow?

by Anonymousreply 597March 21, 2023 1:42 AM

R596 As I recall, she said it was quick and thoroughly unpleasant. I imagine it was a few thrusts in which she felt his gelatinous stomach rolls flop on her, no talking, a grunt...and scene.

by Anonymousreply 598March 21, 2023 1:43 AM

I guess we can all meet here for the fireworks tomorrow.

by Anonymousreply 599March 21, 2023 1:44 AM

R597, no one knows. But no one knows of any reason it would be tomorrow, it might be next week. Some witness had to testify today, they think tomorrow is too soon.

by Anonymousreply 600March 21, 2023 1:44 AM

R597 It's doubtful, but hopefully, by the end of the week.

by Anonymousreply 601March 21, 2023 1:45 AM

I'm already sick of the wall-to-wall reporting on this. My understanding is that his attorneys have not been informed, which is standard practice. He is making it up, not that it might not be happening soon.

I am watching Rachel Maddow tonight and her comments and perspective are typical of why I always try to catch her show. With her two podcasts, research and background, she is in a strong position to point out that historically, politicians and former politicians have been indicted, prosecuted, convicted and imprisoned as a matter of law without somehow endangering the whole country. As far as I'm concerned, the media needs to stop carrying every Trump promoter and theorizer and wait for the inevitable indictments, while law enforcement and government officials act based on their authority.

by Anonymousreply 602March 21, 2023 1:52 AM

R525, no, but an hour later they'll be angry again.
