Katy (Houston suburb) Pride event canceled at the last minute.

[bold'Not going anywhere': Houston Pride group defiant after waterpark cancels event[/bold]

Less than a day before a planned Pride event was meant to kick off at a Houston-area waterpark, the group was sent scrambling after the venue suddenly dropped the event.

Katy Pride, an LGBTQ+ celebration, was scheduled to kick off on Thursday night with a launch party at Typhoon Texas waterpark in Katy before the main event on Saturday. But according to local organizers, Typhoon Texas dropped the event due to "security concerns."

"Typhoon Texas has made the decision to cancel its agreement to serve as the venue for the Katy Pride event," Typhoon Texas said in an emailed statement. "This decision was made with concern for the safety and security of our guests and staff members, which must always remain our top priority."
