I agree that most people are horrible. However, in order to prevent myself from going nuts, I choose to cling to the belief that there many good, decent people still in the world.

Do what Mr. Rogers said - look for the helpers. Search out videos of peope doing charitable or heroic acts. Focus on the positive people on this planet. It will help renew your faith in humankind.

I generally like people. It was only in my last job (more than 11 years in a rust belt state) that I discovered how terrible some people can be.

I was the one who talked to everybody who spoke to me. Always friendly,always mannerly ,always pleasant. That started faltering after 2016 and now in 2025 I can barely be bothered to respond to anyone. Knowing how many people out there are hateful bigots and SO stupid has forever altered the way I see them. Im too old now to worry or care what others think so if I feel pissy I let it fly.

Humans aren't the be-all and end-all of existence. We're just a species of primate that's experienced a temporary population surge.
