This is so much funnier than it should be. I’m with Role Model, it doesn’t matter if it’s a fourth cousin, it still has cousin in the title so it’s a no.

a forth cousin is very removed. most do not live long enough to ever meet their 4th cousins, and the DNA is so diluted by 3rd cousins, it would be the same genetic homology as a complete stranger anyway. even the Catholic Church allows 3rd cousins to marry. most people don't understand the cousin lineage anyway - your first cousins children are not your second cousins, they are you first cousins once removed. your children and your first cousins children are second cousins, and so on - so two more generations to make 4th cousins.....unless everyone in that family is having babies at 12.

R5 most people have a lot of fourth cousins they just don’t know them. You share grandparents with your first cousins,great grandparents with second cousins, great great grandparents with third cousins. Great great great grandparents with fourth cousins.

I get that fourth cousins have very little relation to one another but the term cousin still applies, which makes it awkward.
If they met organically and didn’t know and then found out after dating it would be whatever. But meeting at a FAMILY REUNION changes it all.

Yes R7, I agree. My point is how would you know then you are 4th cousins? With marriage/re-marriage names change, who remembers even their great grandparents names? Many people only know a few cousins from one side, usually first....beyond that they don't.
