Quatar to build their own Air Force base in Idaho, USA

It couldn't happen to a nicer state!

I hope Qatar builds their compound next to some neck-beards. Give them something to really fear.

Putting countries on notice that the U.S. is for sale to the highest bidder. Maybe if Putin gives him a helicopter he’ll let Russia put a nuclear warhead silo in Iowa.

I can't wait for the call to prayer to come Coeur d'Alene.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 10, 2025 3:10 PM |
Is this to service Air Force 2 while they spray paint it gold? I don't get what the Quataris get from this.

It's human rights record is deplorable - just for the LGBT communicty. And they are rewarded??
LGBTQ+ rights
Qatar's penal code criminalizes consensual same-sex relations and other acts deemed immoral, and LGBTQ+ people face state-sponsored discrimination.
Criminalization and abuse: Security forces have reportedly subjected LGBTQ+ people to arbitrary arrest, beatings, and other ill-treatment. Some transgender women detainees were forced to attend conversion therapy.
Lack of legal protection: There are no anti-discrimination laws to protect LGBTQ+ individuals, and any advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights is restricted due to social conventions and fear of reprisal.
Freedom of expression and assembly:
Qatar severely restricts freedom of speech, the press, and peaceful assembly, punishing dissent through restrictive laws and arbitrary detention.
Restrictive laws: Laws against blasphemy, criticizing the emir, or publishing "false news" are used to stifle dissent and punish journalists and activists.
Censorship and self-censorship: The government censors media and internet content related to politics and other sensitive topics. Journalists and academics routinely practice self-censorship to avoid repercussions.
Suppression of protests: In 2021, authorities arrested and prosecuted members of the Al Murrah tribe who peacefully protested a discriminatory electoral law.

The women of Idaho should rejoice! A burqa might accentuate their potato-shaped bodies.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 10, 2025 3:28 PM |
This has potential, between the domestic and foreign terrorists clashing, could be quite the show.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 10, 2025 3:30 PM |
Apparently this has been in the works since 2022, and is intended for training Qatari Air Force men (I think it’s safe to assume there won’t be any women) to fly the F-15 fighter jet.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 10, 2025 3:30 PM |
Idaho has a huge Mormon population, so we are just changing the underwear for a Burka and calling it a day!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 10, 2025 3:32 PM |
Qatar has more progressive abortion laws.

Word on the street is that they're kidnapping young Idaho twinks and forcing them to dance for Qatari sheikhs.

by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 10, 2025 3:49 PM |
Jared will be handing the big gold-plated scissors to Trump to declare it open at the ribbon cutting. Whirling dervishes and belly dancers will provide the entertainment. Camel races as part of the festivities, too.

Pork is now outlawed in Idaho. All meat must meet halal requirements.

R22 Quatar is where they make Quassants the French pastry. You can only get there by flying Quantas airlines.

My BIL lives in Idaho, he’s a survivalist with lots of guns . He moved to Idaho from Colorado, and left behind a good job with benefits because of two reasons—Obama was elected president, and Colorado legalized pot.
I’d love to know what he thinks, but he broke off contact with all of his family, save for sporadic contact with his mother.

This should work out quite well for the Gen Z men who went all in for Trump.
Qatari men would love their pink holes.

R11 - the US Air Force has been training foreign pilots for decades - from many many countries.
I just don't understand the need for this - what interest does Qatar have over here?
Apparently this was part of the agreement when they purchased the F-15s in 2017. Again under Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 12, 2025 5:35 PM |
A spy facility? Isn't NORAD in the general area?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 12, 2025 5:39 PM |
Let's face it - it's just a way for Trump to make money. End of story.

Sheik Shack
Dunkin’ Falafels
The Olive Oasis

I’m almost afraid to say this here, but imo this is not such a big deal. Several other nations have the same arrangement with the USA. The U.S. is such a gigantic country, it’s a perfect place to train combat pilots.
I’m saying this softly, because anything that trashes the Trump regime is ok by me. But at the same time we have to pick our battles. If we shriek about everything, we’re shrieking about nothing, to paraphrase Frederick the Great.
