Interesting that the numeral zero was called ”O” as in the letter. I’ll assume it was because that was also the single dial required for the operator.

I was an Information Operator in high school. Zero / O was my address!

I miss dial tones, busy signals, Ma Bell, landlines, long distance, and a less hectic, instantaneous life.
