I think he is that dumb, but unless you can tie the grindr account directly to his personal email or other personal information, then the picture he allegedly shared isn’t a smoking gun. It’s easy enough for him and MAGA to claim it’s an evil Deep State plot. You need others to come forward with receipts. And besides, we need to go after Miller and Vought. Dig up their grindr profiles.

The person making the claim stated the Grindr conversation happened in 2023. The picture of Johnson that the person claimed was used with the profile was found to have been taken in 2025, so entire thing is debunked. However, in the YouTube video, the fitness guy and the other guy just choose to ignore that. Politifact went on to show how to create such a fake Grindr conversation.

R1 you have good points. However, someone who works behind the tech scenes at Grindr would certainly know how to retrieve this info (if it is in fact real). And if it's not real, then who cares? The RWNJ media and current administration lie about everything and put out false videos, so go ye forth and pump false shit everywhere onto the internet. A strategy I'm not seeing that I'd like to: people planting suggestions or suspicions that certain individuals close to Trump are actually plotting to make him appear fragile or untethered so they can take over (Vance is a likely candidate for that, and Trump would 100 % believe it too. He's reached that level of paranoia.)

R27, it’s a photo you send someone that can only be opened and viewed once by the recipient. In fact, lots of guys consider it to be a turn-off.

And with disappearing photos you cannot do screen captures either. If you try, the result will just be a black screen. That's when an iPad or second phone comes in handy to record the image as soon as it appears...

R32, the original point was that Johnson would never send the photo shown, because no closeted guy would send a clear and recognizable photo of their face unless it was a disappearing photo. No one is saying it's a feature on Grindr and the point is moot since all of this was fabricated.
