Seriously? Wtf are 1000 people doing there at one time?
Loses its cool factor when so many others partake.

They probably will limit the number of climbers at one time after this.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 6, 2025 2:06 AM |
$$$$$$$$$$

Climbing season ends in June. What assholes, I hope Nepal doesn't waste their choppers on trying to get them.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 6, 2025 3:27 AM |
It's a deadly trend.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 6, 2025 3:33 AM |
Thems the breaks.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
Wasn't the Nepalese government falling apart? Was anybody overlooking permitting and enforcement for Western tourists? Or were "officials" palming cash?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 6, 2025 4:24 AM |
I love this for them.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 6, 2025 4:27 AM |
From what r7 says I expect the same to happen to mountain climbers in the United States .
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 6, 2025 4:31 AM |
Everest 2
Coming soon to theaters.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 6, 2025 4:34 AM |
It's some kind of Chinese holiday. "Hey, let's go to Everest for the weekend!'
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 6, 2025 4:35 AM |
Can't they just make a giant human ladder to get down?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 6, 2025 4:35 AM |
I've said for years that only hikers with INSURANCE should be rescued.. No insurance? See you in the spring...
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 6, 2025 4:40 AM |
Apparently, no one read the article...
This is about people hiking and climbing at lower elevations on Everest, not trying to summit. That only happens in May.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 6, 2025 7:56 AM |
Imagine if the glacier were not just out of base camp preventing most people from bothering to cross it. It would be even more crowded.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 6, 2025 7:58 AM |
Oh, wow, the ignorant presumptuous ass has clocked in at r14.
[QUOTE]Apparently, no one read the article...This is about people hiking and climbing at lower elevations on Everest, not trying to summit.
Jesus, how suipid can you be?! Just shut up. Your presumptuousness makes you look like an ass.
Nobody ever said it, genius.
Even lower elevation tourists --> *they* have to get permitted and approved.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 6, 2025 8:13 AM |
So last season.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 6, 2025 8:55 AM |
Mountain climbing should be outlawed.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 6, 2025 9:05 AM |
What is the Millennials' obsession with climbing things?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 6, 2025 10:46 AM |

I don't think they're Westerners.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 6, 2025 11:02 AM |
Looks like the Chinese government will have lots of organs for transplant!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 6, 2025 4:03 PM |
Wealthy Chinese, r20?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 6, 2025 7:41 PM |
R19 Millennials? People have been summiting Mt. Everest for over 70 years and recreationally mountaineering since the 1700s.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 6, 2025 7:49 PM |
I can’t cut and paste but here’s a link to the always reliable Alan Arnette who has the facts. Basically a terrible storm stranded tourists hiking in a valley 20-30 miles north of Everest.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 6, 2025 7:57 PM |
R16 Fuck you.
You must be a moron to think that the majority of people making comments on here actually read the article. NO ONE reads the article. It's standard Moron DL Procedure. Which you're well aware of being King of the Micro Dick Morons.

Either one must never leave the house or one must climb a mountain. R26 presents a classic brainless DL false dichotomy.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 6, 2025 8:13 PM |
OP, you’ve never seen the photos of the endless lines of people matching up the mountain?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 6, 2025 8:13 PM |
[quote]R24 Basically a terrible storm stranded tourists hiking in a valley 20-30 miles north of Everest.
Hahahahaha!

Summiting Everest has become as impressive as owning a designer handbag.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 7, 2025 1:13 AM |
If they had proper gear and enough food, they could wait it out.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 7, 2025 1:21 AM |
R32, or they could start eating each other!
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 7, 2025 1:23 AM |
They should prep by hiking Mt Washington in winter several times. If they can handle the wind, they'd be all right on Everest.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 7, 2025 1:29 AM |
This Everest climbing shit is ridiculous. They used to limit the number of people each season who could get permits to climb. And the climbing season was always over by now. Months ago. these stranded climbers don't think about the rescue workers who have to risk t heir lives to find these assholes. I hope every single one of them gets fined and it costs them a fortune.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 7, 2025 1:45 AM |
I bet half the cunts are social media obsessives. Not saying they aren’t real hikers, with the necessary athleticism and skill but social media got all these mafuckers being “influencers” and documenting all their “thrills”. It’s sickening. What happen to living in the moment
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 7, 2025 1:49 AM |
So these people are not summiters, they're just trekkers. They aren't there to summit but I wonder if they still try? I'm sure they have no sherpas either since they aren't going too far up. I know the prime season is April 1 to mid to end of May.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 7, 2025 2:08 AM |
R35 The White Mountain National Forest is charging for rescues if it's not a true emergency. Carelessness will cost ya.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 7, 2025 2:21 AM |
BUt it's not just cost. It's really dangerous flying the choppers up there, it can cause avalanches for one thing. I can't believe Beck Weathers' wife was able to get one up there. If you go into the Death Zone, you're supposed to be on your own. I don't know how high these dummies are but I imagine it's unsafe anywhere up there.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 7, 2025 2:42 AM |
R39 oh shit. I never thought about that. Oh yeah they could cause avalanches. Wow.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 7, 2025 2:44 AM |
Has anyone hear ever heard of Dyatlov Pass? Someone should make a thread on it...I kid! But seriously, this just came up today so I wanted to post it. It sounds legit to me.
