This didn't need to happen. She just needed to figure out that she was living above her means -- like back in 2020 -- when she could no longer afford to pay the property taxes and HOA fees on her condo. She could have taken steps to sell the condo back then -- on her own -- and have been in total control of the situation, then downsized to something far more affordable, perhaps even a senior rental. This would have allowed her to pay off the two loans, avoid all the HOA fees and penalties that have mushroomed due to non-payment, and retained the leftover equity in the condo.

As for going hungry, she can probably take advantage of one of those local SOCIALIST programs like the Sova West Food Pantry a couple miles from Century City or go to the Hollywood Food Coalition Community Dinner program that's just a little more than a mile from her wonderful Hollywood Museum.

Unfortunately, it seems like anyone that leaves a comment or sends her a DM with any constructive information gets blocked. It’s very sad how crazy she is because I don’t think there’s any helping her at this point.

Yes, it most likely is equity in the condo.

I can't imagine anyone keeping that much cash on hand. Even Brendad should have more sense than that. You should always keep some cash on hand, but not $850,000 worth.

Due to the downturn in the market and minus the two loans, the judicial lien obtained by the HOA, and her delinquent property tax bill, BrendaD's equity in the condo would be more in the neighborhood of $400,000.

But she totally fucked herself by not taking charge of the situation and selling the condo herself, so that she could walk away with even that much.

In California, how condo associations operate is covered under a part of the California Code commonly referred to as the "Davis-Stirling Act." When a board wants to take steps to put a lien on an owner's condo due to something like non-payment of the HOA fees, they have to follow certain steps. One of these steps is referred to as sending a "Pre-Lien Letter." It's described at the link.

During her divorce from husband No. 2, it came out that he'd created some kind of meaningless "job" for BrendaD at his law firm. It sounded like she was meant to be some kind of "consultant" on his image and advertising. He claimed that the point of it was to give her some payroll, so that he could create a 401k for her. This comes from the appellate court summary:

Two things I learned. Just because all her possessions are still in the condo may not mean much. After 18 days, the new owner can either remove all her stuff and put it in storage (which she would eventually have to pay in order to get it back ) - OR - the new owner can store the stuff in place. I could easily see him just putting all her shit in one of the bedrooms, which would probably be the same square footage as a fairly large (12 x 12) off-site storage locker. Also, if she actually manages to get some kind of appeal, then for her to move back in during that time, she would have to pay the new owner market rent on the condo until the case is settled. The unit next door is currently being advertised at $3800/month.

Maybe she's been quiet online because she's meeting with Pam Bondi about her case.

I have a feeling BrendaD's bene kicked out of Maison 140, and whatever supermarket she's been using to post her Insta stories has banned her from the place and she no longer has a spot where she can plug in her phone.

He got some kind of dementia and got farmed off to an expensive old person's home, then the Motion Pic Assisted Living Campus.
