Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone

Would there be that much of an outcry if The View were pulled from the air? Audiences so easily move on.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 20, 2025 12:10 AM |
R2, like with Kimmel, I think there would be an outcry if it got pulled off just because Trump wanted it gone, not because of something legitimate like low ratings.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 20, 2025 12:56 AM |
There would be a huge outcry r2
More than for any other show.

I think The View would be better if it had a Maga host. Cat fights! Claws out!
Come on remember Rosie vs. Elizabeth? That was good TV!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 20, 2025 1:59 AM |
Ignoring the Kimmel story has backfired on them big time. The responses from viewers have been overwhelmingly negative. And now Eisner is calling out Disney and ABC for not standing up to what was a ridiculous decision.
I really don’t see how the show recovers at this rate. They buckled under the pressure. That’s going to come back and bite them in the ass every time they want to try and lecture the audience on standing up for what you believe in.

It would be great if The View went sideways, and went on and on about what was accomplished by his fake trip to the UK.
More than his fake parades?
How are all of those Putin sanctions going?
Trump's big mistake is that the news cycle is two weeks, but foreign policy id FOREVER.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Alyssa spends her time today telling us all how CK’s memorial yesterday “spells bad news” for Democrats in the midterms.

Addressing Kimmel today...
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 22, 2025 3:02 PM |
How to be gaslit by a moron in one loooooooong explanation. Fuck you, cowards. You were live last week when the Kimmel suspension went down. You weren't giving him time to speak publicly; you didn't even mention it on air. Whoopi listing way too many reasons (that means you're lying) why they didn't mention Kimmel. Also, chastising the audience to cover your asses is not a good look. She's just another idiot who thinks she's the smartest one in the room. Not even close.
Expecting Mc Conaughey to bow at the altar of Whoopi considering they showed a clip of Boys on the Side. Of course they did.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 22, 2025 3:25 PM |
Yeah, I'm not buying Whoopi's explanation *at all*. She tried to liken it to their handling of Colbert, but the Colbert announcement came late on a Thursday afternoon, after they'd already taped both the Thursday and Friday shows. So they had no choice but to wait to address it.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 22, 2025 4:45 PM |
Yes R18, and it was her attitude, trying to blame the audience for doubting their allegiance to the First Amendment. She needs to find an acting coach and brush up on her skills because this performance sucked.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 22, 2025 5:03 PM |
What they said was also clearly heavily scripted in advance. There was no discussion about what Kimmel actually said and no criticism of Trump directly. It was all just focused directly on the first amendment.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 22, 2025 5:13 PM |
R20, they were emboldened by using clips of R politicians speaking out against the FCC head thug, Carr. They also ran the clip of whiny bitch Trump complaining 97% of his mentions are negative. I wonder who tracks what he says about people. EVERYTHING he says is negative.
Forgot to mention Whoopi still can't read. Teleprompter, cards, doesn't matter, bitch can't read.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 22, 2025 5:32 PM |
And I didn't hear a direct condemnation of Disney for cancelling his show.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 22, 2025 6:30 PM |
Or anything about this obviously being a quid pro quo by Nextstar to get FCC approval for their acquisition.

[quote]they were emboldened by using clips of R politicians speaking out against the FCC head thug, Carr. They also ran the clip of whiny bitch Trump complaining 97% of his mentions are negative. I wonder who tracks what he says about people.
They weren't the only ones emboldened by using these clips of Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and then Trump. CNN's morning show and MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' used the exact same clips when reporting the news this morning. I guess being under the ABC News umbrella, they had access to the same news clip. That was the third time I watched it this morning.
[quote]Forgot to mention Whoopi still can't read. Teleprompter, cards, doesn't matter, bitch can't read
She 'still can't read' because Whoopi is dyslexic. For the record, dyslexia is considered a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It's like seeing Tammy Duckworth on TV and saying 'she still can't walk'.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 22, 2025 11:13 PM |
R24, Tammy wasn't hired to run a marathon, but Whoopi was hired to read a fucking teleprompter. Maybe I'll send a car to pick you up and don't worry if the driver is legally blind. No biggie.

Whoopi just introduced her as "Kamala Harris." How much do you want to bed Sunny repeatedly refers to her as "Madam Vice President?"
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 23, 2025 3:17 PM |
Ana is there for Kamala, got it
Was wondering.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 23, 2025 5:11 PM |
Give me a break Sunny. You were standing ten toes down for months afterwards saying that Harris' answer to your question was appropriate and you admired how loyal she was to Biden
NOW you want to say that you immediately knew that her answer was wrong and was going to ignite a political firestorm?
This woman is such a narc she can't stand admitting she made an error. So much for "She ran a flawless campaign"!
Now I get why Kamala chose Ana over her to be in her campaign inner circle.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 23, 2025 5:37 PM |
I just pulled up the Behind the Table podcast from right after Kamala's last interview. Sunny says what a great answer Kamala gave about what she'd do different. Specifically, "It's not a gotcha moment. She's been part of a very successful administration. So it's actually quite smart."
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 23, 2025 7:05 PM |
Sunny was on today's podcast and said she thinks Kamala's shitty answer lost her the election. I can't decide if that shows extreme humility or extreme arrogance by Sunny.
Of course, Sunny also thinks Kamala should have leaned into her "live experience" as a woman of color. Because there's nothing the public loves more than identity politics, right?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 23, 2025 8:10 PM |
Whoopi today "“You know what? RFK. Jr. is not a doctor. And you, sir, are not a doctor. And you don't have any understanding, clearly, of why people take Tylenol. It's been around forever. There are all kinds of studies out there. I'm not listening to y'all anymore. I'm not listening to you.”
STOP FUCKING TALKING TO THE CAMERA.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 23, 2025 8:47 PM |
It's her job. There is no 4th wall in daytime talk
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 23, 2025 8:48 PM |
Sunny's trying to distance herself from the screwup. She's framing it in a way that makes Kamala look bad and herself look good. It's disingenuous, especially since she was praising Harris' answer for the longest time afterwards.
But the truth is they both didn't come off well. Sunny could have easily steered it to what areas Kamala could broaden under Biden's leadership and gotten a halfway decent answer out of her. All this shows is her limitations as a journalist and her inability to think on her feet.
And the clear nervousness with which she talked to Harris about it was embarrassing.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 23, 2025 8:51 PM |
[quote] There is no 4th wall in daytime talk
There is with everyone else at The View. The rest of the cast talks with each other. Only Whoopi speaks directly to the audience or directly to “you know who.”
by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 23, 2025 9:16 PM |
[quote]All this shows is her limitations as a journalist and her inability to think on her feet.
Probably because she's not a journalist. She's a lawyer, TV host, legal correspondent/analyst, author, public speaker, and TV producer, but never considered a journalist.
[quote] Only Whoopi speaks directly to the audience or directly to “you know who.”
Which show are you watching ?
Ana looks directly into the camera and talks to viewers, politicians and Trump on a regular basis. She also speaks in Spanish to talk to her Spanish-speaking audience. She has broken the fourth wall and has spoken in Spanish to 'her friend' Marco Rubio many times. Sunny and Joy have also broken the fourth wall on a regular basis.

She has a degree in journalism. She told Meghan McCain that one time.

From Wiki:
She received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Rhetoric[8] from Binghamton University and a Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School.[9].
No journalism degree.

She's a journalist.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 23, 2025 9:53 PM |
There's a difference between 'studying journalism' (re: took some journalism classes) and actually getting a degree in journalism to be considered a journalist. A big difference.
She has no degree in journalism. She's not a journalist.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 23, 2025 9:58 PM |

She studied journalism. She's on an ABC News affiliated program interviewing political figures. She's a journalist.

R50 OK, we'll give you your break. "She's on an ABC News affiliated program interviewing political figures. She's a journalist."
That means Whoopi, Joy, Alyssa, Sarah, and even Meghan McCain are also journalists since they have the same job credentials: they're on an ABC News affiliated program interviewing political figures. Who needs to go to college, major in journalism, and get a degree ?

You can interview people on TV without being a journalist. Unless you think Ellen Degeneres and Kelly Clarkson are journalists too?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 24, 2025 2:47 AM |
I just saw journalist Ellen DeGeneres hawking her own skin care line on a TV commercial. With all her on-air experience as a journalist, you'd think a news organization would offer her a job.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 24, 2025 12:04 PM |
My aunt ran three beauty salons and never went to business school but won many awards for being a great businesswoman.
Ellen DeGeneres and Kelly Clarkson are perfect examples of information shows, like all of Fox, who depend on the First Amendment.
Rich MAGA gets stuck on nomenclature when it suits them.
Poor MAGA suffers the consequences.

What was his connection to those products? Or just shilling for them?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | September 24, 2025 10:31 PM |
R63 Supposedly he 'developed' the men's skin care line. He probably wants the audience to believe he was in the labs doing his chemistry, getting the right formulas and fragrances and then got FDA approval, and has now released the product on his own (like all celebrities want the audience to believe - starting with Ellen DeGeneres). In actuality, he most likely licensed his 'branding' and image with the products, which included him doing this yard sale. He was shilling the other products, saying they were his 'personal favorites', and being compensated for it.

Today on the show, the cast of 'Shark Tank' will be making their annual appearance to kick off their new season on ABC. And once again, as I have in the past 5+ years, I'm going to wait for Sunny Hostin to ask them - since they each have 'co-producer' credits on the show - why they never ever have an African-American Business Woman as a guest shark ? If they can't get in contact with any of the 2.7 million Black women-owned business owners in the U.S. (as of 2023), I'm most certain Sunny or Whoopi can set up a phone call or a meeting for them to get the ball rolling! Better yet, let's start at 'The View' and invite Sunny and Whoopi to come on this season.
Go get'em Sunny! Make a 'statement' - they're all yours.

R28 and R29, that was me. I was in a time-out because along with paying for the privilege to post on this site, I also seem to be at the mercy of vindictive assholes. Do posts disappear when someone is suspended because I could see my comments at the aforementioned numbers when I was not allowed to comment.
Anyway, I've lost interest in the show; I didn't even bother to watch the Kamala interview because it's all just rote at this point. And for all of the Whoopi defenders, she most definitely has a different camera angle than the other co-hosts. They put that camera on her when they know she's starting in on another one of her inane lectures. Ana may stare into the camera, but it's not specifically set up for her like Whoopi.
Me bored with this show. Me out.

Monday, Sept. 29 – Tim Allen (actor, ABC's "Shifting Gears")
Tuesday, Sept. 30 – Kate McKinnon (author, "Secrets of the Purple Pearl"); John Edward joined by co-author Robert Hilland (author, "Chasing Evil: Shocking Crimes, Supernatural Forces, and an FBI Agent's Search for Hope and Justice")
Wednesday, Oct. 1 – The Political View with Zohran Mamdani (democratic candidate for New York City mayor)
Thursday, Oct. 2 – Neil Patrick Harris (actor, Broadway's "ART") and David Burtka (co-authors, "Both Sides of the Glass: Paired Cocktails and Mocktails to Toast Any Taste")

It was actually a relief today not to have Sara on the show (she's on jury duty, they said). Whoopi, Ana, Sunny and AFG brought a nice dynamic to the show often interrupted by Sara.
Even though Spanish Heritage History month started two weeks ago, it seems The View has forgotten to celebrate it, except for two very short segments thus far - despite their promise on day one that 'we'll be celebrating it all month'. They can't do garage sales ('View Your Deal') focused on Latino and Latina owned companies ?
Italian American Heritage month is celebrated in October - I'm sure that will be ignored, once again.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | September 29, 2025 10:45 PM |
On Tuesday, psychic medium John Edwards (he admitted this is his first name and his middle name - he dropped his Italian surname professionally a long time ago) was the guest promoting his new book he cowrote with an FBI agent he's been working with for years. The whole premise of the interview is that Edwards (now in his fifties and looking great) has been working with the FBI since he started his 'psychic' career nearly 30 years ago, yet never made this public. His co-author was in the audience, and the FBI agent said Edwards had helped solve many cold cases they had been working on over the decades.
Joy Behar, who was moderating (Whoopi was out sick), made it clear she doesn't believe in any of this (he didn't seem to care). At the end of the interview, she made a face for the camera and ripped up her blue index cards with the questions she asked him in the interview. She played along - but now she was done.

V Y D. The world will be ending yet they'll still be doing a VYD with the cockroaches and Keith Richards as the vendor reps.

Why are they giving a third party candidate the platform now? They’ve never done it before, so why is Cuomo treated differently?
Did anyone tell him he was a spoiler? Why isn’t Joy railing against him for working against the democrats?

Momdani mispronounced all over the place.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | October 6, 2025 4:36 PM |
R97, are you trying to spell it phonetically or are you just misspelling it all over the place?
by Anonymous | reply 98 | October 6, 2025 5:10 PM |
Cuomo is falling into the same trap the Dems have repeatedly fallen into with Trump. Way too much focus on why the other guy is bad and not nearly enough talk about what he'll actually do.

R99. in all fairness he was not in a debate with the opposition he was answering pre-written questions from the co-hosts. He also had to contend with Sunny's pro-Palestine Pro-Mamdani stance. Then Alyssa asked him a question where he had to defend his five-year-old COVID directives.
They gave him less than a minute during the last segment to very quickly list what he would do for New Yorkers.

I get that R, 100. But he needed to pivot, which he didn't. For example, when asked about Mamdani he easily could have said "We know Mamdani's housing plan won't work because DiBlasio already tried it. Under a Cuomo administration, we'd build X units of affordable housing." He said the first part when asked about Mamdani but didn't say the second part until the very last minute of the interview.

What a waste of time with Cuomo.
Ana hot off easy.

Joy celebrated her 83rd Birthday today on the show with her annual 'tag sale' which each host auctioned off a personal item to raise money for Joy's charity (I believe it's a women's shelter, can't remember the details).
Jlo was the guest, pushing her movie for this weekend, and Sara was relatively quiet. She didn't jinx her and the movie as she usually does to guests by saying, "I'm hearing Oscar buzz already..."
They were also pushing the soundtrack, and what a wonderful job JLo did with the Kander and Ebb music. The audience went home with a copy of the soundtrack. But J Lo didn't sing one song on the show ? Isn't that the best way to entice the audience to go to the theater and to buy / download the soundtrack ?
Sunny was a full-blooded Latina today, in honor of JLo. (Sunny and JLo are about the same age - a year difference - and Sunny looks much older these days than she should). Too bad Ana wasn't there to prove she was a closer friend to JLo than Sunny ever will be.

Thought bubble over most of the audience: Where in the hell am I going to get a CD player?

Alyssa is pregnant. Guess the conservative seat is about to be open again.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | October 8, 2025 3:18 PM |
That was an idiotic conversation between the ladies and Aubrey Plaza about Joy having had sex with a ghost.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | October 8, 2025 3:42 PM |
R105, why should she vacate the seat?
by Anonymous | reply 107 | October 8, 2025 5:19 PM |
R106, it was a planned bit, yet Joy refused to play. It looked like something Audrey cooked up but old Joy couldn't even remember saying it.
In reference to Alyssa's announcement, I thought Joy was being a bit of a cunt. She finally creaked out of her chair to give her a hug, yet this is something she seems to do a lot. She doesn't seem too forthcoming when it comes to praise and congrats. Is it being self-conscious and afraid to show affection? Only child syndrome? Envy? I've noticed this about her since the show began. Sunny was happy for her.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | October 8, 2025 5:36 PM |
If you think Joy was a bit of a cunt, it is because Joy don't play.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | October 8, 2025 6:54 PM |
I think Joy is so over all the fake cheer and hugs that accompany every little milestone. But it was good to see Alyssa's hubby. Cute, and so was his date.

R109, I suppose being ill-mannered is another definition of "don't play" then.
R110, going back to the show's first years she displayed the same kind of affected disinterest. She'd make a face or begrudgingly offer a hug when it became apparent (like today) she was the only one not offering her congrats. She was always like this. For all of her decades of therapy you'd think she'd finally learn to play well with others.

r110, we saw what you did...

I said Alyssa was pregnant back in June, when they did her birthday celebration. She had that 'look' about her. I also said she would announce it when the new season started, and she would last through the end of the year / Christmas break. I also predicted she won't come back in 2026, and probably leave the show for good once the baby is born. She has a great gig at CNN, she doesn't need to sit next to Sunny and watch her pout. BTW, her husband and her brother-in-law are ugly.
Whoopi rotates her mattress only twice a year ? Joy does it only once a year ? Sunny doesn't do it at all ? Gross! I remember years ago Martha Stewart said to do it four times a year - she said the change of every season is a great way to remember to do it. I've rotated it every first day of the season since then (no one turns their mattress 'over' anymore - they're not made for flipping any more).
The Plaza interview was a waste of time.

A celebrity with a children's book? How original.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | October 8, 2025 10:19 PM |
It's a fucking talk show. The Plaza interview was pure old-timey Carsonesque promotion. She sold her children's book, she sold her off Broadway play, she played nice and affable with the hosts, and the audience went wild for her. Mission accomplished.

Will Ana get upped to 5 days a week once Alyssa goes on maternity?
by Anonymous | reply 116 | October 9, 2025 12:42 AM |
No, they need a conservative. Will Megan return?
