In charity, one could say that the color of the First Lady’s gown was “the last of the summer wine” from a seasonally appropriate fashions point of view since the English summer social season extends to Michaelmas, September 29th, equivalent to Labor Day in the US. In juxtaposition with the Princess of Wales who wore a gold gown, I think it made for a pleasing balance that did not upstage the hosts. The bigger mistake was wearing purple, a color reserved for royalty, at the welcome ceremony.

For tea at Clarence House in 2019, Melania wore a similarly hued canary and fuchsia ensemble.

Trump looks exhausted. Melanoma looks like she's seething. The dress is inappropriate as was what she wore last time--too showy for a guest.

She's wearing Hand-Concealer Yellow and Vein Purple in honor of her beloved spouse.

The hand make-up is obvious. And, look at his feet. His one foot is wonky.

That dress is...an odd choice. I don't personally like it but it's also the wrong choice for a state dinner.

She doesn't look happy to be there either. Poor thing knows she's just a whore in over her head.

Camilla wore the evening length version of the get up she wore during the day.

I like the dress. I like the whole outfit, but not for that occasion. And even though she is not overweight and has a good figure, it makes her look a little matronly. Not sure why she would choose that for an event where she knows will result in lots of photographs of her next to super thin Kate. The point about Ukraine is interesting. The seasonal inappropriateness of the dress makes that suggestion more plausible.

I LOVED her daytime suit outfit with the purple hat.
