Brits, why can't Labour remove Keir Starmer as party leader and put a stronger and more charismatic party member in office?

He's obviously the wrong PM for the times, and I'm not sure why Labour can't put someone stronger and more dynamic in charge of the party.

I'm from the US so I confess I don't know nearly enough about the British parliamentary system to know how this works, but I do know that sometimes in the past when ruling parties have had unpopular PMs in charge (Thatcher, Johnson, May) they've been able to remove them before they lose a major election to another party.

Is it just because there's not enough incentive for other party members to get rid of him yet, and so they're being loyal to him for that reason? It seems from here like there needs to be a strong move soon against Farage and the Reform UK party or the UK is going to be in the same pickle we're in in the USA.
