It’s very good and one of Paul Schrader’s best.
I would have liked for Nolte to have won Best Actor for this. I am glad they gave it to Coburn at least.

The two movies based on books by Russell Banks, "The Sweet Hereafter" and "Affliction" are extraordinary, especially "The Sweet Hereafter".
