City of West Hollywood lowers Pride flag to half-staff in memory of Charlie Kirk

It makes sense once you read the article It's written city policy to follow the national proclamation of the President when it comes to the lowering of the flag. Now that Trump has turned flag lowering into a politicized mess like everything else he has done, the city council will be reconsidering the policy. I'm sure they will change it after following the proper procedure to amend city policy. Their explanation makes sense. It's obviously been authored by legal/PR, but it's valid

The vengeful threats and damaging acts perpetrated by the dementia-addled Boomer-in-Chief and his incompetent administration have resulted in most social and news media, various governments and government agencies, corporations, etc. essentially choosing to go along with or "obey" the deranged edicts no matter how crazy or unconstitutional. It's just what happens now in the timeline, and we have to push through it. When Trump dies, and he will die, probably sooner than we expect (here's hoping), no one in the GOP is going to be able to carry forward this insanity to the degree needed. The Kirk killing by a nutjob from a rival Conservative faction is a sort of harbinger of what will likely occur within GOP/MAGA. Everyone in those segments is going to want to be top dog and will go hard against anyone viewed as an obstacle or rival to that position. Political bloodbath. Sucks that we have to endure the excessive fawning and pandering going on right now, but it's one phase of a cycle. Hang in there.
