Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) took to X on Thursday and vowed to “use Congressional authority and every influence with big tech platforms to mandate immediate ban for life of every post or commenter that belittled the assassination of Charlie Kirk.”
GOP Lawmaker Has Extreme Plan For Those Who ‘Belittled’ Charlie Kirk’s Death

Glad I left the country. I cannot believe what I am watching from over here. What does it feel like there? Does it feel like you are slipping into a night mare? Is everyday like "is this really happening? this can't be happening..." I feel infuriated from over here. I can imagine living in a non-stop barrage of it.

Where are you at, r1?

[quote] In 2004, Higgins became a patrol officer for the Opelousas City police department. By 2007, police chief Perry Gallow was prepared to take major disciplinary action against Higgins. In a letter to the city council, he wrote, "Clay Higgins used unnecessary force on a subject during the execution of a warrant and later gave false statements during an internal investigation.

[quote] Higgins also made a video for the state police, with a script that prompted protests from suspects' families and the ACLU. He resigned from the St. Landry Parish sheriff's office in February 2016.[15][16] Guidroz had warned him against using disrespectful and demeaning language about suspects, ordering him to "Tone down his unprofessional comments on our weekly Crime Stoppers messages".[17] He issued a statement saying that Higgins's comments underlined "a growing undertone of insubordination and lack of discipline on Higgins' part"

[quote] Higgins has been married four times. Higgins married Eloisa Rovati. They had a daughter together, who died a few months after she was born. Higgins and Rovati divorced. Rovati alleged that Higgins held a gun to her head and threatened to shoot her during an argument, a claim Higgins has repeatedly denied.[62] Rovati later died in an automobile crash.[7] Higgins then married Rosemary "Stormy" Rothkamm-Hambrice. He adopted her child from a previous marriage, and they had two more children together.[63] They divorced in 1999.[6][64][65] Higgins's third wife was Kara Seymour. They also divorced, and Higgins lives in Port Barre, Louisiana, with his fourth wife, Becca.[6]

Like R3 said… Higgins’ own social media history contains a lot of ugly. Also.. “belittled”? Trump pivoted to babbling about a new ballroom under construction or something like that, just a day or two later when asked if he was grieving the death of Charlie Kirk and how was he holding up.

Making fun of Charlie Kirk = bad
Domestic violence = good

I never would have believed there could be a US Congressional politician DUMBER than Louie Gohmert and Tommy Tuberville... but congrats, Clay Higgins--please step up and receive your crown of dross!

We have been talking about it theoretically for years. We felt like we were overacting or being dramatic. But is it really happening right now? Is America slipping into a fascist dictatorship for real? Is CK the reason the country will be shut down with half of it caught up in this mourning frenzy and happy to do so. Is it really fucking happening?
If so, who was the undercover agent who radicalized Tyler online knonwing full well his background and who he lived with? This is crazy how easily and fast this is all coming down right after CK's death.

Um, I thought Republicans were for free markets and government not regulating businesses. Smells a little communistic to me.

So much for the First Amendment.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 14, 2025 6:12 PM |
They're trying to get people fired from the military for pointing out that Charlie Kirk was a bigot

That's a terrifying pic in the OP.

Excuse me, this is an actual country of 340 million persons,, not a first person shooter game.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 14, 2025 6:36 PM |
R5, you forgot the part where he supported David Duke.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 14, 2025 6:40 PM |
While working as a military officer, Higgins supported the 1992 presidential campaign of Pat Buchanan and the gubernatorial campaign of Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, despite Higgins describing Duke as a "Nazi" to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter.

It’s irritating that he’s kinda hot in that photo.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 14, 2025 6:42 PM |
It's more irritating that you think that.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 14, 2025 6:45 PM |
Stop comparing us to Nazis just because we love David Duke!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 14, 2025 6:46 PM |
sounds like someone is auditioning to be the new head honcho of trump's secret police...aka ICE
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 14, 2025 6:48 PM |
I hope he doesn't find Datalounge!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 14, 2025 7:01 PM |
If this were to pass, he would definitely fall foul of it based on his comments celebrating the attack on Paul Pelosi.
So yay, Higgins is gonna be banned from all social media. Not a bad thing.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 14, 2025 7:08 PM |
Well, R22, he DOES bear a certain resemblance Ernst Röhm.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 15, 2025 12:05 AM |
My God, they're treating Charlie Kirk as if he were Martin Luther King. Just stop. Imagine if it had been Joe Rogan. OMG.
(Be that as it may, I'd still suck off Clay Higgins. Yes, I'm a whore darling.)

Sooo… for dinner this evening, I’m having some wild salmon, just a bit of brown rice & steamed broccoli.
I’m really grateful that I’m making better choices for myself.
Doing good & healthy things for myself makes me smile. No anger, rage or fear detected within me… just gratitude.
Hope you’re all having a wonderful day! ❤️

You might be in luck, R26.
He loathes women, (keeps marrying them in order to beat the fuck out of them), AND pings to high heaven.
Send him a DM!
