U.S. high school graduates peaked in 2025, then most states will see steady declines through 2041

This is why the fight for college admissions has gotten crazy. Once second tier colleges are now competing for the best students.

Afterwards, the high school senior population starts falling because no one is having kids

Idiocracy.

Thank you Republicans and Red States for dumbing down and destroying educational standards in the school systems.

College will decline because Ai is changing the workforce and some youth might be better off going into a trade.

by Anonymousreply 3September 14, 2025 3:19 PM

R2 did you read the article. The graduation rates will decline not because the population is getting dumber, which it is, but because a whole generation of people have not had kids yet. Most of us 80s Millenials still don’t have children.

R3 we coming for them too bitch.

by Anonymousreply 5September 14, 2025 3:44 PM

R4 Most of us don’t want them!

I still think 30s is still way too young to have kids!

by Anonymousreply 6September 14, 2025 3:51 PM

R6 Me too that’s why my first born is a cunt.

The birth rate in western countries, including the US, has plummeted to near zero. Is it really such a mystery why people don’t want to have kids? It’s expensive and this world is heading in a terrible direction.

This is why Trump and his ilk are desperately trying to push policies that incentivize white people to have kids—bans on abortion and soon birth control, $1000 in an account for all newborns, etc etc etc

OP has a crystal ball.

R8, birth rate for whites is down. It’s up for others.

by Anonymousreply 10September 14, 2025 5:16 PM

I thought I had read that this happened 8 years ago. In any case, the shrinking growth of the population will be exacerbated by the decrease in immigration and result in negative economic impacts. Feels like we’re dancing on the edge.

The impetus behind getting rid of brown people and importing white "genocide victims."

by Anonymousreply 12September 14, 2025 8:03 PM

I hope this means lower property tax.

This fits perfectly with the rise of automation, which will reduce the number of jobs. It couldn't happen at a better time.
