Singing worship songs

by Anonymousreply 72September 16, 2025 12:09 PM

Well, this should finally kill the American mall.

by Anonymousreply 1September 13, 2025 6:24 PM

What’s “worship songs”, precious? What’s “worship songs”?

by Anonymousreply 2September 13, 2025 6:29 PM

R2 Make Me a Channel of Your Peace

Gangs, everywhere! Where is the National Guard when you need them?

by Anonymousreply 4September 13, 2025 6:34 PM

At least they’re not shooting anyone.

by Anonymousreply 5September 13, 2025 6:38 PM

R5...today.

by Anonymousreply 6September 13, 2025 6:39 PM

How do “worship songs” differ from hymns?

by Anonymousreply 7September 13, 2025 6:39 PM

They’re not a mob if they’re white and Christian.

Meet me at the Abortion Hut.

The lines at Cinnabon and Auntie Anne's must have been massive afterward.

by Anonymousreply 10September 13, 2025 6:43 PM

R2, imo the quintessential "praise and worship" song is "Waymaker."

Watch this video and you will get the concept; it's one of the verrrrry few songs of this type I can actually sit through and enjoy. Most modern praise and worship songs sound as tuneless as modern County, modern Pop and modern R&B. This one, at least is hummable.

This is one way of putting a dead mall to use. Good for them !

by Anonymousreply 12September 13, 2025 6:46 PM

^^modern [italic]Country,[/italic] not "County."

by Anonymousreply 13September 13, 2025 6:46 PM

How does someone on here not know what worship songs are?

by Anonymousreply 14September 13, 2025 6:47 PM

Modern Cuntry

by Anonymousreply 15September 13, 2025 6:49 PM

I see nothing wrong here. These Christians can sing in public spaces when they like. What the cannot do is HATE! Unfortunately, the Christians on that side of the aisle are very hateful, indeed. Respect your Father? Then you respect all and everything belonging to Him.

by Anonymousreply 16September 13, 2025 7:19 PM

These types are the most peaceful types on Earth. They probably bought a bunch of clothes for a charity.

R17 These are the people that made Trump happen. They worship him. We are here because of them.

by Anonymousreply 20September 13, 2025 10:01 PM

R16 How do you feel about a mall full of chanting Muslims?

by Anonymousreply 21September 13, 2025 10:03 PM

The world's most unentertaining flash mob.

by Anonymousreply 22September 13, 2025 10:05 PM

I'm alright with it, R21

by Anonymousreply 23September 13, 2025 10:11 PM

Why are they seemingly worshipping a blue car in the video?

by Anonymousreply 24September 13, 2025 10:13 PM

R16 "What the cannot do is HATE!"

It's what they excel at, and they've destroyed the country with it.

by Anonymousreply 26September 13, 2025 11:34 PM

Where’s the post Jesus celebration fucking?

by Anonymousreply 27September 14, 2025 12:08 AM

If the singing is good, make a joyful sound. If it sucks like this, ban them

No, I do not want to enjoy the Cherry Coke Kirk Fountain.

Sick.

by Anonymousreply 31September 14, 2025 12:22 AM

Doesn't bother me that much, but I have a skewed perspective.

My varsity choir group in high school did a lot of spontaneous public singing including shit like an early 1600s motet in the rotunda of the US capitol, Summer Nights from Grease at a NY cafe, etc.

"Tis better to seek forgiveness than permission" was our choir director's motto when it came to this.

Anyway, I'm not that bothered by random public singing, even when it's not of top quality. At least someone is actually going to a mall these days!

by Anonymousreply 32September 14, 2025 12:24 AM

[quote] Was there a potluck in the social hall later?

It’s a soupluck not a potluck.

by Anonymousreply 33September 14, 2025 1:22 AM

Damn, all the awesome hymns of the past 2000 years, and they pick some shitty Our God is an Awesome Fucker shit. That's an embarrassment and now Jesus hates them all.

by Anonymousreply 34September 14, 2025 1:28 AM

Because not everyone is part of a religious cult R14. Religion is a mental illness as evidenced all through our society.

by Anonymousreply 35September 14, 2025 1:48 AM

Funny thing is the Bible never talks about white people. It's stories mainly centered on North Africans and Southwestern Asians.

by Anonymousreply 36September 14, 2025 2:06 AM

No context for this video. When did this even happen? I’m fine with Christians singing praises to Jesus, but if they’re doing it for Charlie Kirk, that’s just straight-up culty and weird.

by Anonymousreply 37September 14, 2025 2:22 AM

Why didn't they say which mall it was?

And trust me when I tell you, no one's shopping in those malls anyway.

I was in Daytona shopping at a Cycle Gear store, and by the time I left it looked like it was going to rain any second. So I scooted my bike into the local mall parking lot (I had never been there before) and managed to get inside just before the lightening started to crackle and rain started to pour.

I mean to tell you, there was no one in that mall. It was like a ghost town! The few people who were in there were just sitting right by the entrance in the food court waiting for the rain to subside so they too could GTFO. It was really creepy. You could hear your own footsteps.

I left as soon as the rain stopped.

No one goes to malls anymore, not even in FL. So, you know, whatever.

by Anonymousreply 38September 14, 2025 2:36 AM

Maybe this was some church group throwing a demolition party.

by Anonymousreply 39September 14, 2025 2:48 AM

After they were done singing they all crammed into Spencer's Gifts.

by Anonymousreply 40September 14, 2025 3:20 AM

They’re just virtue signaling to each other.

by Anonymousreply 43September 14, 2025 2:31 PM

What's a mall?

by Anonymousreply 44September 14, 2025 2:38 PM

r42, I'm well aware that some probably were, but we got a lot of compliments and thanks from people for cheering up their day.

If it happened today, I guess it'd be posted to tiktok and all that. This was before social media.

by Anonymousreply 45September 14, 2025 3:18 PM

I detest singing groups who tho I that everyone give a shit about their singing.

STFU

by Anonymousreply 46September 14, 2025 5:08 PM

I guess the Gay Men's Chorus could go in there and do a few numbers.

Is there still such a thing as a Gay Men's Chorus?

by Anonymousreply 47September 14, 2025 5:29 PM

G should bring back Up With People!

The specific location within the Florida Mall where this event occurred is the Alive Church's Florida Mall campus, which is situated at 1649 Florida Mall Ave. Orlando, FL. This campus regularly holds weekend services on Sundays at 8:00 am, 9:45 am, 11:30 am, and 1:15 pm (with a Spanish-translated service available at the last time slot). Midweek services are also held on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. The church office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Florida Mall campus is led by Pastors Aaron and Ronnica Chapman and offers programs like Growth Track, designed to help individuals connect, discover their purpose, and make a difference.

by Anonymousreply 51September 14, 2025 6:31 PM

Oh, this was related to a church that is part of the mall? This really is a nothing burger then.

by Anonymousreply 52September 14, 2025 6:37 PM

I figured this was just a regular church thing. No need to bring Charlie Kirk into it.

by Anonymousreply 53September 14, 2025 6:38 PM

Well Hell's bells, R51 -- if it's in an Orlando mall, we sure as shit could bring in the Gay Chorus on the off nights.

[quote] They’re just virtue signaling to each other.

R43 is correct.

I remember a Bible verse that addressed this, and I think it was this one at Matthew 6:6

I googled it, and I like the summary A.I. came up with:

[italic]AI Overview

Matthew 6:6

The primary Bible verse encouraging prayer in secret is Matthew 6:6, which reads, "But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you".

[bold]This verse is part of Jesus' teaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 6:5-13) and emphasizes the importance of private, sincere prayer to God, rather than performing religious acts for public recognition.[/bold]

Explanation of Matthew 6:6

"Go into your room and shut the door":

[bold]This refers to finding a private space where one can be undisturbed and focused on God, away from distractions.[/bold]

"Pray to your Father who is in secret":

[bold]This highlights that God is present and sees what is done in secret, emphasizing an unseen, personal relationship with Him.[/bold]

"And your Father who sees in secret will reward you":

[bold]This promise encourages believers that God acknowledges and responds to sincere, heartfelt prayer, even if it's done without an audience.[/bold]

Context and Purpose

Against Hypocrisy:

[bold]The verse contrasts with the practices of hypocrites who prayed loudly in public places (like synagogues and street corners) to be seen by others, implying their motivation was self-glory rather than genuine devotion to God.[/bold]

Sincerity and Intimacy:

[bold]The emphasis is on cultivating a sincere and intimate relationship with God through prayer, which can be fostered in private.[/bold][/italic]

These people have clearly never read the Bible. So I wouldn't call them Christians, op.

by Anonymousreply 56September 15, 2025 2:00 PM

R34 I hate that fucking song. And most "modern" Christian songs. I cannot tolerate Christian "rock".

by Anonymousreply 57September 15, 2025 2:08 PM

Stop linking to the "Oli London" right-wing nutter account

by Anonymousreply 58September 15, 2025 2:12 PM

[quote]I cannot tolerate Christian "rock".

they all gave each other covid, and maybe the measles.

by Anonymousreply 61September 16, 2025 3:30 AM

Florida is SO embarrassing.

Because everything that they think makes them unique and that they do best (beaches, citrus, Disney), we can do better. And with more money and better politics.

by Anonymousreply 62September 16, 2025 3:35 AM

These fake religious Americans make us look so fucking stupid.

by Anonymousreply 63September 16, 2025 3:37 AM

If you want to hear praise and worship songs, just turn the radio dial to K-Love. I despise Christian music. I quit a chiropractor because he was playing that crap in the office. Fuck NO.

by Anonymousreply 64September 16, 2025 3:50 AM

K-Love oh dear

by Anonymousreply 65September 16, 2025 3:55 AM

I wonder what it must feel like for both Florida and Texas to always be inferior to California? It must be a step-sister feeling.

by Anonymousreply 66September 16, 2025 4:02 AM

Malls? Probably the only types still going there.

by Anonymousreply 67September 16, 2025 5:40 AM

If it was more dignified, but I never could with the hand waving. I really really don’t like that.

by Anonymousreply 68September 16, 2025 5:42 AM

R67, "malls" are still a thing in FL and TX :(

by Anonymousreply 69September 16, 2025 5:42 AM

Lock the exits and turn on the sprinklers.

Like a baptism but the Florida trash version.

by Anonymousreply 70September 16, 2025 9:36 AM

Did they blow up the town after singing?

by Anonymousreply 71September 16, 2025 11:34 AM

Absolutely nobody goes to a mall and wants to hear Christian spirituals.
