Real Time With Bill Maher 9/12/2025

Anybody watching this shitshow right now? He's doing his monologue and trying to make jokes about Charlie Kirk and Dump, some are kind of okay, but I'm curious to see where he's gonna go with this.

So, for anyone who might be watching with me.....

by Anonymousreply 104October 6, 2025 3:36 PM

Maher was in his bag tonight!

by Anonymousreply 1September 13, 2025 4:48 AM

Did Lauren Boebert really stand up in front of Congress today and insist they pray? I truly don't know if that really happened or it's one of Maher's jokes?

by Anonymousreply 2September 13, 2025 4:49 AM

She did.

by Anonymousreply 3September 13, 2025 4:52 AM

The ends justify the "memes" was funny.

by Anonymousreply 4September 13, 2025 4:55 AM

Maher says "Calling someone Hitler makes it easier to justify things like assassination......"

or going to his house for dinner with a mutual friend.....right, Bill?

At least Bill Maher isn't hypocritical. We all now Maher would have Hitler as a guest on his show in a heartbeat!

by Anonymousreply 5September 13, 2025 5:00 AM

I'll correct that:

We all KNOW Bill Maher would have Hitler on his show in a heartbeat!

by Anonymousreply 6September 13, 2025 5:01 AM

R5/R6 ... in some sort of tizzy fit.

Please form a coherent sentence. Thanks.

by Anonymousreply 7September 13, 2025 5:03 AM

As usual, Maher finds a way to bash Democrats and find them to blame. I can't stand this contrarian bothsiderism motherfucker.

by Anonymousreply 8September 13, 2025 5:46 AM

R8l, doesn't matter if you can't stand it.

He's right.

by Anonymousreply 9September 13, 2025 5:51 AM

[quote] As usual, Maher finds a way to bash Democrats

Seriously? That’s like bashing eunuchs at an orgy at this point.

by Anonymousreply 10September 13, 2025 5:51 AM

Case in point.

by Anonymousreply 11September 13, 2025 5:51 AM

Oh, fuck off, R9.

by Anonymousreply 12September 13, 2025 5:53 AM

When he listed right wing political violence he failed to bring up the fucking Minnesota lawmakers who were assassinated. Incredible.

by Anonymousreply 13September 13, 2025 7:21 AM

Did Ben Shapiro cite The Tatler as proof the shooter is leftist?

I turned it off when he went on his Trans Antifa Marxist rant.

by Anonymousreply 14September 13, 2025 7:28 AM

He spent way too much time with Charlie Sheen. They were all over the place, nonsensical.

by Anonymousreply 15September 13, 2025 4:15 PM

Listening to Sheen’s interview last night, from what I can recall, he admitted to sex with men, but not anal sex. I assume he meant oral only. He was very hedgy about details and seemed almost embarrassed to discuss it.

by Anonymousreply 16September 13, 2025 5:57 PM

Bill speaks for many Dems who feel the party is no longer recognizable. He once said he has given more than $16 million to Dem party so he has a right to bitch about things. Glad he gets people irate on the far left and the right.

by Anonymousreply 17September 13, 2025 6:02 PM

Bill’s just another right wing cunt who should have been cancelled a long time ago.

by Anonymousreply 18September 13, 2025 6:09 PM

Yup, the usual shit. Both sides do it, even though we all know the right is much more eager to kill and has killed much more than the left, and this shooting very much seems like right-on-right violence. (Yes, we will need more facts to come out, but there is very little to say the shooter was motivated by left-wing ideology.)

And somehow when Trump and his gang of yahoos want to ban flag burning, that too is somehow proof that the left hates free speech. And of course his terror of ever having a real leftist on means that there was nobody there to point out, that yes, Charlie Kirk was himself kind of an asshole, and always tried hard to be part of the problem in this country and not part of the solution.

Also, not the biggest thing, but Maher was a fucking 14-year-old boy in that interview with Charlie Sheen, giggling about whether Sheen was the top and who was the bottom, cause, tee hee, if you took it up the ass I have to laugh at you. A non-child might have asked, what is it about all the things you've done, including a crazy, very public meltdown, what is it about gay sex that still traumatizes people so much that that's what people want to latch onto as shocking?

by Anonymousreply 19September 13, 2025 6:11 PM

Bill & Charlie, birds of a feather, both of whom should be completely ignored.

by Anonymousreply 20September 13, 2025 6:16 PM

OP here. I was timed out for a few days for......well it could be any number of posts I raced thru to see how many I could get on before they suspended me,

I started watching tonight's episode. Wanted to hear what Maher had to say about Kimmel. It was okay. Same predictable Tump jokes. Knew he would make it about his own experience - (I did like the ABC joke).

But when he introduced Tom Hohman as his guest? I immediately shut it off. Homan is SO reprehensible! I feared if I watched, there was no possible discussion that wouldn't get my blood pressure to rise.

But if any of you guys wouldn't mind the favor of filling me in, I think I'm calm enough to read it.

by Anonymousreply 21September 20, 2025 3:48 AM

[quote] But when he introduced Tom Hohman as his guest? I immediately shut it off. Homan is SO reprehensible! I feared if I watched, there was no possible discussion that wouldn't get my blood pressure to rise.

That’s a point that a lot of commentators are making, that people won’t listen to the other side to hear what they have to say.

by Anonymousreply 22September 20, 2025 4:17 AM

R22 In my defense, I've listened enough. I've heard Hohman. What he says should have already been repudiated to the point that he couldn't have made this appearance. I'm pissed he's given yet another platform.

I'd shut it off if it was Nancy Mace. or Ghislaine Maxwell. or Gym Jordan or Comer Pyle. Everything they say is completely vile! with little or no pushback. Something Maher was great at, maybe even 5 years ago!

by Anonymousreply 23September 20, 2025 4:41 AM

Bill always fails to mention Trump and the GOP's lies. That their entire platform is one big con, and the gullibility and shame of believing anything they say.

by Anonymousreply 24September 20, 2025 5:30 AM

He seemed a little bit off tonight. More conciliatory, less biting humor.

by Anonymousreply 25September 20, 2025 5:40 AM

Tom Hohman?

I am all for talking to the other side. For real. But this fucking asshole?

He makes my skin fucking crawl. That's like chatting with Goebbels.

And let me guess, Maher did nothing to push back on anything?

by Anonymousreply 26September 20, 2025 5:54 AM

After tonite I'm done with Bill. And I don't understand the big round of applause for Hohman. Truly frightening.

by Anonymousreply 27September 20, 2025 6:01 AM

I am too R27.

And I have been a staunch defender of his - even when he's irritated me - for years.

by Anonymousreply 28September 20, 2025 6:34 AM

That fucking gestapo thumb? Thanks for the heads up, won't watch tomorrow.

by Anonymousreply 29September 20, 2025 7:13 AM

Maher has become too misogynistic.

I watch his show when a guest interests me.

His snark and bitter edge don't do it for me.

I question his ongoing support of Israel.

The show tonight had a few tap-dancing moments I didn't like.

Thinking I'm about done with him.

by Anonymousreply 30September 20, 2025 8:21 AM

[quote]Maher has become too misogynistic.

If you recall, he used to have 3-person panels before Covid. Once Covid ended, he never went back to that format.

There hasn't been on a single episode where he has had more than one female guest, and at least half his shows have had no women at all. I suspect he's afraid of being outnumbered.

by Anonymousreply 31September 20, 2025 7:42 PM

No, women are boycotting.

by Anonymousreply 32September 20, 2025 7:58 PM

[quote] And I don't understand the big round of applause for Hohman.

Oh, dear and you don’t understand it because you live in an echo chamber.

by Anonymousreply 33September 20, 2025 8:00 PM

[quote] I've heard Hohman

It’s HOMAN, you retard.

by Anonymousreply 34September 20, 2025 8:01 PM

Has Bill commented?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 35September 20, 2025 8:39 PM

And of course the one he really wants, the guy he's desperate to have on, isn't some leftist like say Mamdani who would be a really interesting and yes challenging guest and, you know, getting a ton of attention these days.

No, the person he's desperate to have on and has been chasing forever to get on is ... Arnold Schwarzenegger. Why? And I'm not even asking that as a slam on Arnie. But seriously, why? What is the vital reason to have on a guy who was governor of California from 2003 to 2011? What is the all-important point he's going to make? That yeah, Trump is a bit much, but these woke people, damn?

In other words, same ole, same ole for the tired old bitch that used to be a guy that wanted an interesting show.

by Anonymousreply 36September 20, 2025 8:56 PM

I had watched Real Time since the first season, but around 3 years ago I couldn't stand it anymore. He became too insulated and smug and self-important. Spending so much time focusing on things that effected him directly, like the bureaucracy of the local regulations in his community for putting up solar panels and building more structures on his property. He has become Trump lite. Also he no longer has random audience members, his people basically pre-screen them to be fans so they don't boo him when he says something distasteful . He now has a ditto-heads echo chamber for an audience. I find I now don't have to be annoyed by him on Friday nights anymore.

by Anonymousreply 37September 21, 2025 1:33 AM

For a second there, I thought I had been parachuted back to 2009 when Maher was still relevant.

by Anonymousreply 38September 21, 2025 2:13 AM

Alex Wagner didn't bother me.

by Anonymousreply 39September 21, 2025 2:59 AM

Oops, that was late night not 9/12. Never mind.

by Anonymousreply 40September 21, 2025 3:02 AM

Looks like Tom has been a naughty, greedy asshole.

Not that anything will come of it. Hell, MAGA will probably call him a hero.

by Anonymousreply 41September 21, 2025 7:57 AM

Oh shit. Sorry R35! I didn't see your post.

by Anonymousreply 42September 21, 2025 7:58 AM

Nancy Mace is on the panel this week. God help us.

by Anonymousreply 43September 25, 2025 11:20 PM

I can't believe people still watch Bill Maher. I mean, my grandmother does, but she's barely 'there' anymore.

by Anonymousreply 44September 25, 2025 11:32 PM

Cranky old man Maher is barely "there" anymore either, R44, but they keep wheeling him out on his walker, desperately hoping and praying he doesn't start whipping out his dick and beating off on camera, or reaching into his Depends and start flinging his shit at the studio audience and crew members.

by Anonymousreply 45September 25, 2025 11:43 PM

I heard his podcast with Drea de Matteo, while I was cleaning my bathroom including the toilet. Bill was high as fuck and drunk? slurring. Drea is dumb as hair and a conspiracy theories and Bill was humouring her conspiracies, asking more and more questions about chem trails and what not. A shit show to listen to while cleaning the toilet.

by Anonymousreply 46September 26, 2025 1:46 AM

Hot snatch alert! The meme guy, not Nancy Mace.

by Anonymousreply 47September 27, 2025 5:34 AM

R47 = No he wasn't. He got mouthy with Maher and got shut down.....(repeats on CNN if you don't have HBO. Check your listings)....I am so sick of these fem guys. A whole generation devoid of any masculinity. [bold] ScreenShot [/bold]...

[bold] Meme Guy to Bill Maher [/bold] = "You aren't an educator. You have a tv show."

[bold] Bill Maher [/bold] = Well Fuck You....

I know it simmered down but Meme Guy started repeatedly talked about people "LIVING WHO THEY ARE" on social media-----and we all know that's slang for Tranz. Maher clearly wanted to talk about Incells during their chat. Meme Guy won't be back.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 48September 27, 2025 6:22 AM

Aidan Walker was ok. Not too polished but clear and articulate. Bill complimented him for that. Bill was meandering all through his pet social media and woke zeitgeist issues, and wasn't very clear. Bill asking this young man to affirm his broad judgements on trans and whatnot was just showing Bill's age. Bill wants to keep up with the zeitgeist but his questions and rambling were off the mark.

by Anonymousreply 49September 27, 2025 12:13 PM

R49 = It was odd. Maher wanted to talk about incells and social media, and I wondered if Aidan Walker went off script from the shows pre-interview. Aiden sounded like he wanted a "gotcha" moment with Maher with his "you aren't an educator" line. And Aiden wanted to talk about trans but didn't want to say the word trans. He shut down Maher talking about Tyler Robinsons boyfriend transsing. I wasn't impressed with either one in that segment.

by Anonymousreply 50September 27, 2025 9:03 PM

Yeah they kept talking past each others comments but I dont think he shut down Maher on Tyler Robinson's boyfriend and the transing rumour he said clearly - it's all rumour - we don't know what was happening between those two.

by Anonymousreply 51September 27, 2025 9:12 PM

When did transing become a word? That was the first time I’d ever heard it and Maher said it several times.

by Anonymousreply 52September 27, 2025 10:23 PM

Years ago, R52. You need to get out more.

by Anonymousreply 53September 27, 2025 10:24 PM

I stopped watching his show because he invites MAGAs. They never say anything worth listening to. Just distortion, deflection and lies. It’s the nature of the beast.

by Anonymousreply 54September 27, 2025 10:26 PM

Bill believes it’s essential to engage with the other side—and I agree. He points out that Republicans often show up when invited, but Democrats like Hillary and Kamala have declined. Bill is a solid moderate Democrat: liberal on many issues but not aligned with progressive stances on open borders, DEI, or cashless bail. Many people share his perspective, yet they’re often met with name-calling or cancelation. Still, Bill continues to host his show, so he clearly retains an audience, even if some viewers have tuned out.

by Anonymousreply 55September 27, 2025 10:32 PM

I'm not sure where this "Democrats won't come on this show" nonsense is coming from. A very cursory look online shows that in the last two seasons there have been appearances by *at least*: Nancy Pelosi, John Fetterman, Pete Buttigieg, Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro, Tina Smith, Jared Polis, Jamie Raskin, Tim Ryan, Adam Schiff, Al Gore, Rahm Emanuel, Andrew Cuomo, Al Franken, Ro Khanna, Jon Tester, and Joe Manchin.

by Anonymousreply 56September 27, 2025 11:28 PM

I know this will be an unpopular opinion, and I hate Nancy Mace with the fire of a thousand suns, but she did much better than I expected. She managed to articulate conservative talking points without being a total hate-filled idiot. Her makeup, though, was unforgivable.

by Anonymousreply 57September 27, 2025 11:52 PM

Someone should take away his pot and Depends the Dependable Adult Under Garment away from him.

And his TV contract.

Decrepitude can be such an embarrassment if you're an arrogant pot addled dick

by Anonymousreply 58September 27, 2025 11:58 PM

R58 = Failed writer. Been booed off stage at six comedy clubs. Reposts 18 anti Trumps posts a day on FB. Thinks Biden would have won reelection if he had stayed in the race. Has a Pete2028 sign in his yard.

by Anonymousreply 59September 28, 2025 12:57 AM

Bill has been extremely defensive ever since his dinner with Trump.

by Anonymousreply 60September 28, 2025 1:08 AM

I gave up on Bill Maher about 3 years ago. His trek down to Mar-O-Lago to kiss Trump's ass under the excuse that we need to have civil discussion with the other side is bullshit when the other side is acting in bad faith and destroying our Democracy. But Bill just wants to stay somehow relevant and keep his show, because he doesn't have another else going in his life.

by Anonymousreply 61September 28, 2025 1:22 AM

R61 I think a lot of people given up on him. Which could explain the paucity of guests.

Malcolm Nance used to guest a lot, but I think it's been awhile since he's been on.

I was so pissed when he had Tom Homan on last week. Absolutely no pushback. Yet on this episode, Maher mentioned the $50,000 bribe in a paper bag. Didn't we already know about that before the episode aired?

by Anonymousreply 62September 28, 2025 3:45 AM

Republicans show up to his show because he treats them like buddies. Democrats get yelled at. Why should they?

by Anonymousreply 63September 28, 2025 3:57 AM

The most divisive, evil action in American government was in 2020, when Trump lost the election by a landslide, everyone around him informed him of that, and he went ahead and claimed he won and the Democrats cheated, That the clear, distinct, deliberate evil and the deep divisive nature of it was the entire point. Until Bill, or Nancy Mace, or Megan Kelly start each sentence with that and make that clear before they go forward with "left woke", "left lawfare" ect, I'll take them seriously.

by Anonymousreply 64September 28, 2025 4:10 AM

But 1/6 was a deep state plot to frame the right and a glorious and peaceful day. Do try to keep up.

by Anonymousreply 65September 28, 2025 4:14 AM

We have free speech in this country, and if I think Trump is like Hitler, then I get to say Trump is like Hitler.

by Anonymousreply 66September 28, 2025 4:22 AM

R60 That was disappointing, he lost credibility with me. I couldn't be in the same room with Trump.

by Anonymousreply 67September 28, 2025 5:06 AM

Bill suffers from Morbid Curiosity. He dresses up his Trump dinner in other language but he was morbidly curious to check in with crazy old Trump in his golden White House lair.

by Anonymousreply 68September 28, 2025 8:46 AM

The show has become largely unwatchable because he loads his audience with paid audience members who laugh raucously at everything - or shout YEEEAH! or WOOOOOO! at everything Bill says. It’s super annoying. Sounds more like a tailgate party than a studio audience. Some people online say the guys shouting YEEEAH!, OOOH! or WOOOOOO! —as if everything is a zinger - are his writers, which makes sense. But the loud guffawing over even mildly amusing quips undermines the show.

by Anonymousreply 69September 28, 2025 9:01 AM

Look, I get it if you don't fangirl over Maher. And I don't want to fight over it. I always find it hit and miss. He is a millionaire who has given millions of dollars to Democrats. For everyone talking about his ratings ---- he has the NUMBER ONE SHOW on HBO. If you posted about his "low ratings" you sound as stupid as Trump does when he says it.

With shows that are done in a front of live audience, the audience is not there for decoration. They are there to provide the audible and definitely noticeable feedback you describe. You might be happier with podcasts that are recorded in a room with no audience.

by Anonymousreply 72September 28, 2025 4:58 PM

Love Bill and the show, but I agree with R69 about the audience’s reaction. Way overboard.

R73 Dittoheads

by Anonymousreply 74September 28, 2025 8:22 PM

Tonight's episode was awful!

All three guests intrigued me for various reasons, which is why I decided to tune in, but a fking waste of time!

by Anonymousreply 75October 4, 2025 4:05 AM

Tonight’s episode was a slog.

by Anonymousreply 76October 4, 2025 8:11 AM

Bill is great. He stood up to “woke” culture in much the same way Bill Cosby once challenged his own community—before his crimes came to light. Sometimes, the most necessary truths have to be spoken from within, even if they’re uncomfortable to hear. Bill is right on many of his criticisms, and he doesn’t let the right off the hook either—he often points out that what they do is far worse. When these critiques come from the right, they’re dismissed outright. But coming from him, they hit differently.

by Anonymousreply 77October 4, 2025 12:19 PM

R77 I agree that it was important in 2020 to point out the idiocy of the woke and far left. But not it's 2025. And he's still bitching about things no longer relevant. Over and over and over.

Talking about woke in 2025 is like complaining about a stubbed toe after being shot in the chest.

His only focus should be on the authoritarian regime that is growing in power and cruelty by the minute.

The fact he *sometimes* doesn't let the right "off the hook" is fucking insane. He should be attacking them mercilessly. And he really doesn't. Lord knows he was merciless with the woke at its peak - and often still is.

That's what's so disappointing.

by Anonymousreply 78October 4, 2025 3:47 PM

Well, R78, when Trump serves you a steak at Mar-A-Lago and forces you to suck his Yeti mushroom dick...

by Anonymousreply 79October 4, 2025 3:51 PM

Maher went to the White House, I think, not Merde-a-lardo

by Anonymousreply 80October 4, 2025 4:58 PM

R77, yes, Bill is following Putin's authoritarian playbook by calling out "woke", like Putin did in 200.5. Then he did even better and not only removed LGBTQ rights, he made it a crime to utter anything publicly that is pro-gay in any way. Orban began doing this in Hungary, too. So yes, it's important for Maher to constantly speak negatively about the "woke"- after all it's step one in the playbook.

by Anonymousreply 81October 4, 2025 5:43 PM

"Woke" is a symptom of a free and open society. Mustn't have that.

by Anonymousreply 82October 4, 2025 5:47 PM

[quote]Bill is following Putin's authoritarian playbook by calling out "woke", like Putin did in 200.5.

Huh?

by Anonymousreply 83October 4, 2025 7:35 PM

Agree r78. The "woke" certainly have their issues and their annoyances, but damn it's just so relentless and constant. And of course he picks two panelists guaranteed to support him on the whole woke thing, and it's a goddamn bore, every goddamn time. Tedious. Just once, just for the fuck of it, just for the shock of it all, have an actual leftist on and have a real discussion about what is going on in this fucked up country, and not some safe little, well, it's just the same old two combatants and it all comes down to messaging. Gosh darn those Dems and their darn messaging. No, it's more than that. It's an attempt by the party of wealth and fascism and Christian nationalism to take over the place completely and kill everything else about this country.

by Anonymousreply 84October 4, 2025 7:57 PM

[Talking about woke in 2025 is like complaining about a stubbed toe after being shot in the chest.]quote

R78 Great analogy. Did you make it up yourself? I'm gonna try to remember it and use it on occasion.

Interesting how Maher's final monologue was on Women Voters, yet he didn't have a single woman on as a panelist. In fact, half the time he doesn't have any women on at all.

If y'all remember, he used to have a 3-person panel. Then Covid hit, space restrictions came into being, and he shortened the panel to two. I believe it was only supposed to be temporary, but Covid has been long over and yet he's never mentioned it. There was always at least one woman on. But never more than two. Bill has never allowed himself to be outnumbered For someone who claims to be a staunch Liberal (at least he used to), what does that tell you?

Also, the women he does have on now, are mostly "Conservative" (whatever tf that means now). Probably because he doesn't feel threatened by any challenges they present. I believe he's complained about how difficult it's been getting some of the dems to come on his show, (like Kamala, Hillary, etc). Well, maybe if he wasn't so rude and dismissive to the few he's had on the past couple years. (last I can recall was Katie Porter - who tried to stand up to him!). Kara Swisher is one of the few exceptions, but that's probably because her dick is bigger than his!

I used to LOVE his "and finally" speeches, now I find most of them insufferable. Last night's being the worst in ages, IMHO.

by Anonymousreply 85October 4, 2025 8:36 PM

Is Bill stick licking Trump's shit encrusted asshole AND Ann Coulter's fetid, rancid cunt?

by Anonymousreply 86October 4, 2025 8:40 PM

Yes he is, R86. You'll just have to wait in line for sloppy seconds.

by Anonymousreply 87October 4, 2025 8:44 PM

All discussions on Real Time begin or end with criticism of woke people or woke culture. I have my own criticisms and by no means is it a sacred cow, but it’s his default and the obsession is weird. I think it’s because it’s an abstract boogie monster he can throw rocks at to placate MAGA but not a criticism he can be pinned down on in any way. So much of the media is just empty Kabuki theater now I’m even invested anymore.

by Anonymousreply 88October 5, 2025 6:59 AM

R85, yeah I did.

I was a novelist in a former life and sometimes I can still write a good line!

by Anonymousreply 89October 5, 2025 8:07 AM

Bill’s criticism of the woke wing of the Democratic Party stems from deep frustration. He believes that this faction is a major reason the party has reached its lowest point in decades—and even lost to Trump. Having donated millions to the party, he feels it has veered in an arrogant and self-defeating direction. Bill sees little sign of change and is trying to wake the party up, urging it to start winning elections based on its policies rather than simply being “not Trump.”

I remember him becoming especially incensed over the “Gays for Gaza/Hamas” protests, pointing out the irony of supporting a movement that would persecute LGBT people. Right or wrong, his opinions are passionate and sharply expressed. Many share his view that the rise of woke politics has done serious damage to the party’s appeal and effectiveness.

by Anonymousreply 90October 5, 2025 11:19 AM

R90 The "gays for Gaza" protests were organized and scheduled by social media posts that were tracked to Russian propaganda troll farms. This has been reported on several times. Yes, some idiots showed up, but it was a deliberate mis-direction, and Bill Maher fell for it. Putin must be thrilled.

by Anonymousreply 91October 5, 2025 11:35 AM

R87, why should I settle for sloppy seconds when I can go to your mother, where I'm on a first cum, first served basis.

by Anonymousreply 92October 5, 2025 12:33 PM

R91...People actually showing up to participate in such an event is as alarming as how information of the event was posted. I don't think those who took part are any less accountable than those who originated the idea. If someone says "Hey, let's all meet at ABC Bank to rob it" & people actually show up to rob the bank they're just as culpable as the person who invited them. Bill Maher was correct with his point. Regardless of where the info was generated, people turned out to show support, just as they have during many community & pride events over the last 2 years. They're just as responsible for their own trash behavior as any Russian bot.

While that's true, r93, Bill Maher failed to mention that part. In fact, he really doesn't talk about Russian (and possibly other countries) misinformation. I'm pretty sure those attendees numbers would have been far less had they known they were responding to Russian troll propaganda, but the Trump administration has eliminated all surveillance and reporting of such interference, another topic Bill doesn't talk about. But he never, ever fails to mention Democrats and woke.

Any Russian agit prop created "Gays for Gaza" events were attended by idiotic gays, who are still embarrassing woke robots, despite the added ick of the Russian manipulation.

by Anonymousreply 95October 5, 2025 1:32 PM

The attendees were very young, probably no older than 22 years old. Yes they should have known better, but Bill Maher should have known better.

agree on both points.

by Anonymousreply 97October 5, 2025 1:37 PM

also wouldn't they have been Queers for Gaza!? "Gays" is unwoke, isn't it?

by Anonymousreply 98October 5, 2025 1:38 PM

Can't expect the Russian trolls to get the details right, r98

by Anonymousreply 99October 5, 2025 1:40 PM

It's speculated that Charlie Kirk's rallies were getting a push from Russian trolls, did Bill Maher harp on the youth attending what essentially amounts to a Nazi youth rally? Where minorities and the marginalized were routinely disparaged? Genuine question, I haven't watched his last few shows.

I know you’re not being serious, but I’ll mention anyway that obviously “Gays for Gaza” would have been chosen for the alliteration.

Bill Maher isn’t the “Russian bot police.” The actress from And Just Like That, Sara Ramirez, attended the “Gays for Gaza” protest and genuinely believed in the cause—just like thousands of other progressive Democrats. Bill has raised concerns about a number of “woke” positions that he believes have hurt the Democratic Party, such as reparations, defunding the police, DEI overreach, cashless bail, open borders, and sanctuary cities that refuse to share criminal arrest information with federal authorities. He argues that these positions make Democrats seem out of touch with middle-class concerns—and many agree with him.

Is Bill right about everything? Of course not. But attacking him or dismissing his critiques outright feels reductive and arrogant. He’s not a far-right figure; he’s someone who has supported the party for decades and now has legitimate concerns about its current direction—especially after its major losses in the last election.

Of all the shit going on in this country at the present time, Maher continues to zero in on "wokeism."

Which can only mean one thing: he's a waterboy for Trump, doing Trump's bidding, in order to distract from the real bullshit going down in the US at this time. Guess there was a hidden cost for "My Dinner with Donald" and Maher gladly paid that price in order to remain what Maher thinks is "relevance."

And Maher is stupid/arrogant enough to think he's being clever. Just like R102.

I stopped watching Bill Maher around 3 years ago because he had devolved into an insufferable self important douche who conflates both sides. When I heard he was going to have dinner with Trump, my immediate response was, Of course he is. Normalizing and whitewashing Trump is his new MO. Sure, he will probably throw out the occasional weak criticism the way even Fox News would do, but he is Trump's bitch now, because he has ZERO going on in his personal life and is desperate to be relevant.
