Prince Harry meets up with his father for the first time in 19 months

for brisk 54-minute tea at Clarence House.

"Father, may I have any more of that delicious cake?"

"Sorry, we're almost at the full hour, dear boy! Off you go, back to wherever it is you live!"

How sad that this family has devolved to the point they have to make appointments to visit each other as if they were business associates.

by Anonymousreply 2September 10, 2025 7:55 PM

"sad"?

More like "delightful"!

by Anonymousreply 3September 10, 2025 7:57 PM

[quote] How sad that this family has devolved

The family didn’t devolve. Harry did.

by Anonymousreply 4September 10, 2025 8:04 PM

I hope something good and positive comes from this, but I'm doubtful.

by Anonymousreply 5September 10, 2025 8:11 PM

R5 Like maybe the British taxpayer can finally get back some of the shitload of cash these chiselers take every year for their "jobs?"

by Anonymousreply 6September 10, 2025 8:17 PM

Hour?

More like 17 minutes.

by Anonymousreply 7September 10, 2025 8:33 PM

TuT TUT Harry, you've poisoned the bloodline and you will just have to go. We can use the children in experiments so all is not lost.

by Anonymousreply 8September 10, 2025 8:43 PM

Surely King Charles is scheduled to the hilt (pun intended) a year in advance, plus has cancer treatments.

Maybe Harry is booked up as well and this was the only window for both.

Some gossip rag this week said William schedules appointments with his father through official channels (as well). .

R2, even in the best of times, Queen Elizabeth's children and grandchildren did not just pop around to the palace to see her. The same with King Charles.

It's a truly bizarre institution surrounding that family.

I truly hope they mend fences. I may think Harry is a dimwit, and he and his wife are grifters who made money off petty grievances. But bring the wayward son back in from the cold.

by Anonymousreply 10September 10, 2025 9:06 PM

R6, I'd prefer paying my taxes to support the BRF over the current dictator my fellow countrymen chose.

by Anonymousreply 11September 10, 2025 9:39 PM

[quote] I hope something good and positive comes from this, but I'm doubtful.

The best outcome for the monarchy would be to strip Harry and Meghan of all their titles and styles. I suppose the king would likely want to tell Harry in person before it happened. I’m also doubtful that this will happen under Charles though.

by Anonymousreply 12September 10, 2025 9:44 PM

[quote] More like 17 minutes.

It was in fact literally 54 minutes, as stated at the original post and in the story linked there..

by Anonymousreply 13September 10, 2025 9:51 PM

FFS Charles was a shitty father and husband. He knows it, Diana knew it, and the kids are collateral damage as far as having any self-reflection and insight. After their mother died when Harry was twelve, their devoted Dad spent most of his time with his mistress.

The British aristocracy are strange, stunted, small-minded people, and I say this as someone who admires aspects of the British culture, as well as Charles, up to a point. I think he did his best with his twisted upbringing. Same with Harry.

by Anonymousreply 14September 10, 2025 9:58 PM

Harry is dumb as a post. He married a beautiful manipulative grifter and cast his lot with her against the wishes and advice of his entire family. Tea with King Charles once every few years is as much as he can expect.

by Anonymousreply 15September 10, 2025 10:05 PM

Honestly, Charles is a bigger man than I. If my son called me racist, my daughter in law racist, my wife the villain, I wouldn't speak to him again.

[quote] How sad that this family has devolved to the point they have to make appointments to visit each other as if they were business associates.

They are making appointment so that they can generally avoid meeting him.

Diana was seriously a crap mother.

by Anonymousreply 20September 10, 2025 10:50 PM

R17, that’s their job. They meet with every leader that the government tells them to meet with.

by Anonymousreply 21September 10, 2025 10:56 PM

R15 has it exactly right.

by Anonymousreply 22September 10, 2025 11:09 PM

[quote] But bring the wayward son back in from the cold.

I wholeheartedly agree with this! How else will Haz get enough material for the sequel?

by Anonymousreply 23September 10, 2025 11:15 PM

[quote] Charle's and his DIL are racists. They are planning a full calendar for Trump and Kate is planning several outings with Melaina. You klan grannies dig that though.

“Charle’s” and his dIL did not vote for Trump. If Americans don’t want their country to be represented by Trump, then they shouldn’t vote for him.

by Anonymousreply 24September 10, 2025 11:18 PM

JFC, R17 -- is English your first language?

by Anonymousreply 25September 10, 2025 11:29 PM

Charles was better in his role as a father after his ex-wife’s death.

by Anonymousreply 26September 11, 2025 12:12 AM

Of course we still don’t know how ill Charles is , but Harry is obviously trying to get into his good books hoping to get some kind of inheritance. Once Charles is gone Harry is fucked, William won’t give him a penny.

by Anonymousreply 27September 11, 2025 9:38 AM

So is charles about to die? Is that why he visited?

by Anonymousreply 28September 11, 2025 10:46 AM

[quote] Like maybe the British taxpayer can finally get back some of the shitload of cash these chiselers take every year for their "jobs?"

Yes, I'm sure saving that roughly £1.50 each British taxpayer shells out every year will make such a difference in their lives. That's $2.03 to us yanks.

by Anonymousreply 29September 11, 2025 10:51 AM

I can’t imagine life with this much scrutiny. Elizabeth II was built different as the kids say.

by Anonymousreply 30September 11, 2025 10:53 AM

R10, do you - or did you, depending on how old you are - just pop round to your mother's place of business when she was at work?

by Anonymousreply 31September 11, 2025 11:09 AM

R24, for some reason I can't see the twit you quote (without giving the reply number) at r17, but the invitation to Trump for a state visit is not even decided by Charles, but by the British government.

by Anonymousreply 32September 11, 2025 11:12 AM

R22, how does r15 have it "exactly right"? Meghan is not beautiful. The rest of what r15 says is correct, though.

by Anonymousreply 33September 11, 2025 11:14 AM

Has halfwit Harry finally come to the realization he's 40 and will have to continue to hustle for work for the next 25 years to earn a living?

He will also have to continue to embellish the amount that he earns to make it look like he is thriving in the U.S. when in fact he is barely surviving. Companies aren't going to continue to pay him top dollar to not deliver successful content and to give speeches that are just him complaining about his life.

The smoke and mirrors of his wife's "company" isn't fooling anyone either. She's just buying out her own small inventory to make herself look successful. No profit being made. Is she so delusional she believes Charles will beg her to come back and be CEO of his High Grove jam and jelly company due to her contrived success selling dried flowers?🤣

Halfwit Harry could have stayed where he was, never had to worry a day in life about a job or bills or retirement or wardrobe or housing or security or anything. Just put in barely 10 hours a week of "work", if even that, smiling, shaking hands, nodding and exchanging pleasantries. The RF doesn't even "work" year round. He had it made it the shade and pissed it all away just because his Cluster B wife said he would be richer and more famous than his brother in the U.S. Idiot. And don't tell me he's enjoying being independent and "working", he's not. He's miserable and keeps coming around looking for a way back into his cushy past life.

by Anonymousreply 34September 11, 2025 11:14 AM

R6, the royal family only get funding from the British taxpayer when performing official duties on behalf of the state . In every country in the world, official state duties are funded by the taxpayer. As pointed out, in the UK it comes to about £1.50 per year per taxpayer. The only person connected to the royal family who wants to receive money for his personal life and non-state activities is Harry, who doesn't even live in the UK yet expects the British taxpayer to fork out for his state-provided security, and for his wife and kids too, whenever he decides to swan into the UK.

by Anonymousreply 35September 11, 2025 11:18 AM

How dare you speak about me in such a fashion, r34! Did you forget that I am a Living Legend of Aviation??? And I survived being thrown into a dog bowl! Life is hard!

by Anonymousreply 36September 11, 2025 6:23 PM

R30, Harry's little, 3-day flying visit was all staged so as to get him maximum publicity. He wanted the cameras and the coverage. Even then, the whole trip was as limp as a lettuce and he only got a handful of "fans", while he was expecting crowds.

The worst bit was when he was egging on a teen, Declan Bitmead, who lost 96% of his skin, hair and nails due to Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, to say that he doesn't get on with his brother, when Declan said he actually has a good relationship with his brother.

by Anonymousreply 37September 11, 2025 6:37 PM

At the charity for severely ill/dead children, Harold said he was so glad his own children are healthy. Such a sensitive man.

by Anonymousreply 38September 11, 2025 8:22 PM

Harry did not have to go to England to memorialize his grandmother's death, the country didn't go overboard about it, and other royals were not photographed in mourning Harry did not have to go to England to rally up with his former great interests. They do well without him. The trip was to gain favor in the press. His public beef he cannot go back to England with his family because the palace does not pay for his "security " is bullshit. What he did in England is just what he would be doing years ago before he left the country and royal duties. No English want him back. The shit he threw has come home to roost. I wonder if, as King, William could remove Harry and his issue from the line of succession. Harry was born a HRH prince, that'll be hard to take back, but ...... as they did denying Wallis Windsor the HRH style, they could do something about living-afar and non-working Harry.

by Anonymousreply 39September 11, 2025 10:31 PM

R39, it is the opposite to what you imagine. It's easy for William when king to remove Harry's HRH and even his title of Prince. Those are completely at the discretion of the monarch. All the king has to do is issue Letters Patent. Harry's place in the succession, however, can only be changed by an Act of Parliament to which the other realms of which William will be king agree. Even Harry's dukedom can only be removed by Parliament.
