I’m getting a Covid Vaccine on Saturday!

I live in NY. The governor has said any adult can get a vaccine. Kids have to talk to their pediatricians.

I signed up at Walgreens. I just attested that I have a required condition (don’t think I even have to do that per the governor’s order).

Many NE states have joined to ignore RFK Jr’s order. Same with some western states

by Anonymousreply 63September 12, 2025 2:13 AM

No-one here gives a fuck what you do.

by Anonymousreply 1September 10, 2025 4:42 PM

Wonder if I can get one at the VA...

by Anonymousreply 2September 10, 2025 4:45 PM

I got mine last week.

by Anonymousreply 3September 10, 2025 4:54 PM

I need to get mine, and the flu shot as well. I noticed that Walgreens and CVS are mentioning the availability of the flu shot, but not Covid.

R1, STFU.

by Anonymousreply 4September 10, 2025 4:59 PM

Friend in Florida is trying to get a Covid shot, but every pharmacy is saying they don’t have shot available

by Anonymousreply 5September 10, 2025 5:14 PM

Got my flu and Covid last Sunday. Kicked my tuchis on Monday, like I expected. CVS was handing out walk-in vaxes

by Anonymousreply 6September 10, 2025 5:15 PM

Do you even know that the shots have a Bill Gates microchip in them, and they can track and control your every move??

by Anonymousreply 7September 10, 2025 5:24 PM

I got flu and latest Covid on Monday. I'm great.

by Anonymousreply 8September 10, 2025 5:25 PM

I got my Covid and flu shot last Friday night at a CVS in here in Los Angeles.

As I was making the appointment, the CVS system did ask if I have an underlying condition. I checked yes, but it didn't ask me what condition I have. As I recall, it has also asked me that question in the past.

As I got the shots, the pharmacist did not ask me about what my underlying condition was. She just gave me the shot. But it's easy enough for them to figure out that I am diabetic since I have prescriptions for insulin.

There were plenty of appointments available. I was the only person there for a shot. Plenty of others there to pick up prescriptions, but no one else there waiting to get a shot.

I make a point to get my shots on a Friday. That way, in case I have a reaction to the shot, I have the weekend to be sick. I've had reactions to Covid shots in the past, but this year, aside from a slightly sore arm, I didn't have a reaction.

by Anonymousreply 9September 10, 2025 5:29 PM

My cvs is offering Pfizer, but I am holding out for novavax again this year.

by Anonymousreply 10September 10, 2025 5:33 PM

and after you get your little injection OP, you can go fck yourself with a red-hot poker 🤡

by Anonymousreply 11September 10, 2025 5:48 PM

r10, my CVS claimed that CVS only administers moderna

by Anonymousreply 12September 10, 2025 6:13 PM

CVS where I got my shot in LA only had Pfizer.

by Anonymousreply 13September 10, 2025 6:18 PM

I got my Covid shot Monday. I had my flu shot two weeks ago. I got them together last year and it was a little much for me.

by Anonymousreply 14September 10, 2025 6:19 PM

In TN here. Under 65. I got the flu shot and the new Pfizer shot on Sunday at CVS. When I made the appointment I just clicked that I had a condition. I sort of do. There were no other questions asked. The tech told me it was good I was getting the shots now because who knows what TN will do in regards to vaccines. I usually don’t get them at the same time but went ahead and did it. I’ve been a little tired and sleepy but not too bad.

by Anonymousreply 15September 10, 2025 6:29 PM

Actually, R1, no one here gives a fuck what YOU do, cunt.

Thanks for providing that info, OP.

by Anonymousreply 16September 10, 2025 6:32 PM

Trump has a white-hot rage against Covid because it's the reason he lost the 2020 election.

Got my flu & Covid shots yesterday at Walgreens after work.

Both arms are sore today but that's about it.

by Anonymousreply 18September 10, 2025 6:40 PM

Got mine yesterday in San Francisco at CVS. I’m 53 and my underlying condition is I’m sick of people’s shit and acting like COVID is over.

by Anonymousreply 19September 10, 2025 6:45 PM

Got Moderna the other day at Walgreens. Signed up online in about 30 seconds.

It’s a sad day when taking a highly recommenced health precaution seems like an act of defiance.

by Anonymousreply 20September 10, 2025 6:59 PM

Apparently, one of the valid underlying conditions is a "sedentary lifestyle", so it shouldn't be that hard to qualify for the shot

by Anonymousreply 21September 10, 2025 7:05 PM

Got mine today. Easy peasy. Actually, I was the only person there for a jab for the 30 mins I was there.

by Anonymousreply 22September 10, 2025 7:09 PM

Got my double dose on Monday. Had a little sore arm yesterday but that was it. Walgreens in NYC. The pharmicist said she was glad the prescription nonsense was over, it'd been annoying extra bullshit to deal with. Thoughts and prayers to all the assholes who won't get their shots, will get Covid twenty times, and have dire health problems for the rest of their lives!

by Anonymousreply 23September 10, 2025 7:26 PM

I just rejoined Kaiser as of 9/1 and have my first doctor's appointment tomorrow morning.

I'm wondering what their stance is now re: vaccinations for Covid. My ID card DOES say "questions about COVID-19? visit kp.org/coronavirus..."

Does anyone currently have KP and is "in the know" regarding whether they are trying to steer people away from vaccines or if they are still providing them if requested?

by Anonymousreply 24September 10, 2025 7:30 PM

I received the new COVID vax booster at CVS in California this past Monday. Signed up online, self-certified as qualifying. I was in and out of the store in ten minutes, no questions asked, and they didn't charge for it. (I believe it was paid for by the local public health department.)

by Anonymousreply 25September 10, 2025 7:42 PM

I don’t get the flu and Covid shots together any more. Felt horrible the next day. Got them separately last year and all was fine

by Anonymousreply 26September 10, 2025 7:44 PM

Find out first if it's the absolute latest vaccine. If it's not wait a little while until the new one becomes available.

by Anonymousreply 27September 10, 2025 7:58 PM

I got the new Moderna formulation and a flu shot together Monday and felt just fine, R26. Only slight soreness at the injection site, and I'm not 100% sure that's from the vaccine rather than cat claw punctures in that arm.

by Anonymousreply 28September 10, 2025 8:25 PM

In NC, so I had to go through hoops to get the Covid vaccine info from CVS, give it to my doctor's office and have them call in a script. I now have an appointment scheduled in two weeks, since they're already heavily booked. In the meantime, I'll get my flu vaccination tomorrow and that will keep close to my yearly schedule.

Beats having to go to Maryland, but that was my backup. No brainworm ignorant heroin addict is going to dictate my medical needs for routinely approved and internationally recommended prophylactic therapies. What is the tanning toad going to do next, ban Tylenol? Require scripts for that as well?

by Anonymousreply 29September 10, 2025 8:58 PM

Mr doc, who is a major vaccine fan and pesters me every time for shots, got me to get the flu shot three days ago. The Covid shot? He said don't bother. It's outdated, and there are no clear directions from the CDC, which has been destroyed, he said.

by Anonymousreply 30September 10, 2025 9:26 PM

Good news for the effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 31September 10, 2025 9:59 PM

So glad it was easy to get vaxxed

by Anonymousreply 32September 10, 2025 11:19 PM

I don't think the latest version of the vaccine is out yet. Last I hear it was coming out in October.

by Anonymousreply 33September 10, 2025 11:34 PM

That’s what I was wondering about, r33, and was going to ask myself. I’m in ny and I assume I can get the shot once the new one is available, whenever that might be.

by Anonymousreply 34September 10, 2025 11:41 PM

[quote] I’m in ny and I assume I can get the shot once the new one is available

That's a big assumption, R34.

by Anonymousreply 35September 10, 2025 11:43 PM

According to the CVS website, the 2025-26 Covid vax is now.

[quote]The updated 2025 – 2026 COVID vaccine is now available. Appointments may be limited or unavailable in some states. Check back soon for additional availability.

by Anonymousreply 36September 10, 2025 11:44 PM

r33, wrong

by Anonymousreply 37September 11, 2025 12:25 AM

I got the COVID-19 Pfizer (COMIRNATY). Is that the latest? I didn't ask because I just assumed that's what they would give me.

by Anonymousreply 38September 11, 2025 2:36 AM

Getting my 2025-26 covid vax and flu shot at Walgreens on Friday. I'm 52 and no real underlying conditions other than not trusting RFK Jr. or anything/anyone else with the current federal government. I'm a Californian. We still believe in science and public health principles around here.

by Anonymousreply 39September 11, 2025 4:27 AM

I got the 2025-26 vax last Friday. Our pharmacist was being chatty as we were the last ones for the day and said they'd gotten the new 2025-26 version in last Wednesday but Friday was the first day it was available.

Booked an appointment for me and partner. CVS website asks you to answer Yes or No for every recipient as to whether you have qualifying health conditions. But no one asked us when we arrived to certify or prove that in any way. Similar to the first vaccines circa 2021, where I think certain ages or conditions were supposed to be getting the vaccine, but again, CVS didn't ask me back then to bring a prescription or show proof then, either.

Like r39, am also in CA.

by Anonymousreply 40September 11, 2025 12:14 PM

At CVS I had a nurse practitioner - VERY chatty. Funny in a working class way. Took my mind off the needles

by Anonymousreply 41September 11, 2025 12:20 PM

My CVS guy was also fucking HOT, a thick Eastern European accent. Good for him for going into pharmacy tech work but I'm sure he would have been hot in porn.

by Anonymousreply 42September 11, 2025 1:59 PM

I got one covid shot and never got the second and I’ve never had a flu shot. I’ll keep it that way.

by Anonymousreply 43September 11, 2025 2:43 PM

r43 - why? Do you object to vaccines?

by Anonymousreply 44September 11, 2025 2:58 PM

I had Covid in early July… what are the guidelines these days? Should I wait till later to get the new vaccine?

by Anonymousreply 45September 11, 2025 3:01 PM

Usually, when the new Covid shot is on the horizon, they stop given out the previous version.

by Anonymousreply 46September 11, 2025 3:39 PM

R45, I believe the guidance is to wait 4-6 months

by Anonymousreply 47September 11, 2025 3:39 PM

[quote][R43] - why? Do you object to vaccines?

For me, yes.

by Anonymousreply 48September 11, 2025 4:15 PM

R47 Thank you. I trust the DL infinitely more than I trust the CDC these days.

by Anonymousreply 49September 11, 2025 4:24 PM

The CDC website says to wait up to 90 days if you recently had COVID.

For R45 that means the soonest you'd want to get the vaccine is early to mid October.

by Anonymousreply 50September 11, 2025 4:56 PM

ps I mentioned getting my update COVID vaccine last Friday at R40, but I'm waiting until probably mid-Octoberish to get the flu shot - apparently if you get it too early there's a chance it won't be as helpful during the peak of flu season.

(A roll of the dice as flu infections can spike any time, but it's usually peaking in winter.)

by Anonymousreply 51September 11, 2025 4:58 PM

It would be helpful if everyone mentioned the state in which they received the Covid vaccine.

TIA

by Anonymousreply 52September 11, 2025 5:18 PM

Don’t forget that everyone over 50 is approved for pneumonia and shingles shots

by Anonymousreply 53September 11, 2025 5:33 PM

I'm on my way to my first doc appt with Kaiser this morning (Northern CA) and will be talking to him about getting the Covid shot.

I'm done with the shingles two-shot (did it maybe a year and a half ago) but I'm pretty sure I haven't received the pneumonia shot. I think I would recall that...it's just been Covid, flu and shingles, so if pneumonia is available, I may request that as well.

However, I've been feeling kind of sick for about a month and a half now, so I'll get his opinion on when I should get Covid and Pneumonia done. He may want to do some bloodwork, so I'd wait for that to get done before I get the shots.

by Anonymousreply 54September 11, 2025 5:42 PM

CVS recommended the RSV vaccine for me- it's a one time deal, so I figure why the hell not? I get occasional asthma (athough strangely not as much after having Covid), and my Dad and aunt both died from lung related illnesses.

by Anonymousreply 55September 11, 2025 6:33 PM

r54 here, just back from Kaiser.

I received the flu shot, my doc said the pneumonia vaccine wasn't really necessary for me as I don't have asthma or any other breathing issues (I'm 56 yo), and (lastly) they will have the updated Covid at the end of September, at which time they'll let me know and I can go in then for it.

by Anonymousreply 56September 11, 2025 8:05 PM

I got the updated Pfizer COVID shot last Sunday at my local Kroger. I'm over 65 and no questions were asked.

This is in Texas.

by Anonymousreply 57September 11, 2025 8:25 PM

r56 / r54 again.

Just received an email that Covid vax is available to all members in four days (9/15) so I'll be scheduling myself for one.

by Anonymousreply 58September 11, 2025 11:24 PM

^^sorry, forgot to put "from Kaiser" after "Just received an email."

by Anonymousreply 59September 11, 2025 11:25 PM

I worked with the general public for many years and whenever I skipped my annual flu shot I got deathly ill. So I got in the flu shot habit and as soon as the Covid vaccine became available I got both initial doses and a booster every six months. I just hate being sick.

by Anonymousreply 60September 12, 2025 1:50 AM

Don't do it, OP.

by Anonymousreply 61September 12, 2025 1:53 AM

This thread is giving January 2020 vibes.

by Anonymousreply 62September 12, 2025 2:00 AM

I got Covid and flu shots free as a walk-in at CVS. She put one in each arm stating I’d have fewer side effects which proved correct.
