Diana Ross’ 80’s Albums

I’ve never listened to any of them, but I’ve read at least one or two were experimental. Which ones were they?

"Silk Electric," which produced the hit "Muscles," I guess could be considered experimental in that it was a different sound for her.

R2 Yeah, well, who's still alive, bitch?

Eaten Alive is kind of a trashy album but it has its moments. When I first heard the title track a few years ago, I thought it was Diana attempting to replicate Michael Jackson's sound of the time a bit too closely, and then I realized his vocals actually appear on the track.

"Red Hot Rhythm and Blues" is sort of a strange record. A bunch of older R&B covers, ersatz Motown cut "Shockwaves," the very boring single "Dirty Looks," and a very pretty version (maybe the first one released) of Leonard Cohen and Sharon Robinson's "Summertime."

I don't know if I would call any of it experimental, though.

I picked it up many moons ago for 99 cents when the Sam Goody at the mall I worked in went out of business.
