Nepal erupts in revolution - the poor are breaking into politicians homes and throwing cash out the windows
Video shows the finance minister being chased and whooped in the streets. Why don’t Americans stand up for themselves like this? Why are we such bootlickers?
“Nepal’s prime minister has resigned after more than a dozen people were killed and hundreds injured during youth-led protests sparked by a government ban on social media platforms, widespread corruption, and poor economic opportunities.
Security forces unleashed live ammunition, water cannons, and tear gas over protests in several cities, according to news agency Reuters. At least 22 people have been killed, Dr. Mohan Regmi, the executive director at Civil Service Hospital in Kathmandu, told CNN on Tuesday.“

Two thoughts: 1. Isn't that what the January 6ers tried already? 2. I think that's something people can do only when they know that governmental authority is already severely decayed.

Or when their social media is cut off, R2.

R2 People also tend to freak out when the military shoots citizens. Trump is playing around with that line. That'll be the moment where push comes to shove, and Americans decide to be cowards or not.

R6 For example, that's what led to Ceaușescu getting smoked.

Because Nepal doesn’t have trillions of dollars worth of artillery at the ready to blow the world and everyone on it in its defense.

So the kindling to set off a similar conflagration in the United States is already in place.

Many people from Nepal in my country. I think that most of the immigrants here are from Nepal, actually. Still don't get why they chose Croatia over let's say Germany or some better country. But nice people, never heard of an incident involving them

Always was curious about Nepal - seems beautiful and not as insane as India or Pakistan. Had a neighbor who went and said it was beautiful.

This is exactly what the US needs right now. Especially from the younger generations. Peaceful marches and sternly worded letters and online petitions are going to achieve nothing. You have to make those in "power" afraid, and this is the best way to do that. Bravo to the youth of Nepal. Inspiring.

Their abolishment of the monarchy about a decade and a half ago was very messy. It was precipitated by a massacre of the king and queen, along with seven other members of the royal family, in 2001. The crown prince killed them but himself died a few days later after shooting himself.

Jeez, they trapped the PMs wife in their mansion and burned her alive with it. There’s not a clear direction. The army is MIA and there are rumors that gangs are running wild.

I like the Nepalese and *do* "condone" the unrest; but it's nothing new. They had an actual revolution in 2006.
