I'm digging this hair on Carlos
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 7, 2025 10:00 PM |
It wasn't his thigh. They had to strap his massive cock down because the flop was just getting in the way, R25.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 7, 2025 10:01 PM |
Safin looks like shit!
Does he have the usual Russian glug-glug problem?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 7, 2025 10:03 PM |
R20, heās been fighting with them over NATO issues and their general failure to grovel. Heās currently threatening them with huge tariffs, of course.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 7, 2025 10:05 PM |
While I'm happy with who won etc, I think the US Open really fucked up this year and was, all-in-all, organised embarrassingly badly.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 7, 2025 10:06 PM |
Iād fuck Safin. With a Yaltan dildo.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 7, 2025 10:06 PM |
R31 Yeah, it definitely wasn't a vintage year. Very few entertaining matches - particularly on the men's side - after the first few rounds.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 7, 2025 10:10 PM |
Menās tennis needs to get it together. Why is million-year-old Novak Djokovic cruising to the semifinals in Slams? The menās tour is filled with flops.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 7, 2025 10:16 PM |
I really thought Sinner would take this. Carlos played great, however.
What a rivalry we have on our hands!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 7, 2025 10:17 PM |
I'm very happy that my boy Carlos won, but I cannot believe that they decided to start with so many people still waiting to get in They made a bad situation even worse by doing that.
Speaking of which, I suspect today is going to be repeated at almost every major sporting event from now on. Trump will, no doubt, pop up at one of the games in the World Series, the Superbowl, the Stanley Cup final, etc. for as long as he lives. And he will no doubt show up multiple times at the LA Olympics (opening ceremonies, at least one or two gold medal matches, probably the football final, closing ceremonies, etc.) if he's still around. And as someone who doesn't buy into the DL thinking that his death is necessarily imminent, that's extremely disheartening. He is in full dictator mode this time around. He demands to always be the center of attention. I think he might even force himself into the next Oscar ceremony just to show his power.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 7, 2025 10:27 PM |
Trump got booed loudly as he stood there smiling and waving.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 7, 2025 10:27 PM |
It's nice that he gets booed, but I'll bet he shows up again at the US Open next year. It's about showing his power and getting back at people who hate him this time around.
Anyway, I so hate that man.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 7, 2025 10:32 PM |
R36 I agree wholeheartedly with you and it is soul destroying. R37 Please tell me that is true.

I watched the ABC coverage and counted three times Trump was shown, a few seconds each timeāonce during the national anthem, once toward the end of the match and once as Alcaraz was heading into the stands, the stadium was cheering and applauding and, no surprise, Trump looked unhappy and unpleasant. The commentators noted his presence at the beginning and then, except for showing the people still waiting at the beginning of the second set to get in, because of security, he went unmentioned. No one in the closing ceremony acknowledged his presence, including both players. Boos he can live with, but being mostly ignored, not so much. Iām not sure we will see him next year.

On the other thread it was mentioned he had left by the 4th set. So maybe he wasnāt around anymore to hand out the trophies.
Glad he was gone regardless and glad he was completely ignore at the end.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 7, 2025 11:59 PM |
Sinner and Alcaraz would have been advised by the tournament to not acknowledge Trump in any way what so ever.

by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 8, 2025 12:27 AM |

Funny - MAGAs on X arguing he received a huge ovation when he was shown on the jumbo screen and how much America loves him. They seem a little desperate.

by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 8, 2025 1:33 AM |
R57, he was back in his seat at the end; he had that blank dead-fish look. Seeing Alcarez get so much love from the crowd may have hurt him, to the extent he feels anything anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 8, 2025 1:44 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 69 | September 8, 2025 5:33 AM |
Was enthusiasm down this year?
I've been in NYC for over 20 years, and the number of friends/co-workers who went to/posted on social from the Open is significantly down from last year. I've also noticed a lot of empty seats.
(I watch every day on TV; I can't do humidity ā although this year had perfect weather ā or afford the sky-high ticket prices, otherwise I'd attend.)
by Anonymous | reply 70 | September 8, 2025 6:01 AM |
I love the fact that a brown Spanish speaking boy (okay, man) won the USO when the orange shitclown was in attendance. I know Alcaraz isn't Mexican, but it's not like the orange shitstain knows the difference.

Good article at R76. I think all the Slams have their set identity at this point. US Open is the gaudiest and craziest. I still like it, but man the article hit the nail on the head. I know celebs have always had access and there are genuine tennis-loving celebs like Ben Stiller. But the USO and sponsors recruiting certain celebs and influencers to sit in certain locations. Wild. I guess I shouldn't be surprised at all. Everything must be corporatized and monetized to the maximum. The Honey Deuce cocktail as status is just ridiculous. Not that vodka and lemonade isn't a good generic refreshing cocktail. But the name, the price, the fact that people want to post pics while drinking it.

In French we have an expression for people who, just like Carlitos, seem to always have a radiant smile: "avoir la banane". I'm not sure what would be the English closest translation as "having the banana" definitely doesn't work: something along "permasmile" or "sunny disposition" maybe? Anyhow, it does make him irresistible to me. Also, I think he can keep the buzz cut as his head is perfectly shaped just like his body. Just sayin', Attaboy!

Tennis star Anna Kalinskaya: Holger Rune tried sliding into my DMs ā10 timesā
Russian tennis star Anna Kalinskaya couldnāt help but laugh as she claimed she ignored 10 messages from Denmarkās Holger Rune.
During an interview with the First&Red channel on Tuesday, Kalinskaya claimed that Rune was one of āa coupleā tennis players she ignored advances from because he āthinks too much of himself.ā
āTennis players ā more often before,ā Kalinskaya, 26, who previously dated Italyās Jannik Sinner, said of players asking her on dates. āNow Iām older. I donāt know, for some, itās just no chance at all. No need to write. Someone wrote like 10 times and then gave up
āIāll say it now, but Holger Rune. He writes to everyone. He deserves all this. Thinks too much of himself. But heās not the only one. A couple [more].ā
The World No. 11 Rune replied to the interview clip ā which had one million views on Tuesday ā saying Kalinskaya took things out of context.
āHa ha ha. We might have cultural differences that make Anna read a comment on a story as an invitation to a date,ā Rune, 22, wrote, adding a winking emoji. āIf I want to go on a date, I ask for a date . Donāt worry.ā
The Russian interview was translated by Pro Football Network.

Report from a redditor who attended:
"Iāve gone to the US Open menās final every year for the last decade. Itās a tradition I look forward to all year. But this yearās final was absolutely ruined and not because of the tennis.
Trump decided to show up. As soon as that happened, the Secret Service took over. Thousands of us were stuck outside for ages, missing large portions of the match we paid thousands to see. When we finally got inside, it was chaos all over again as people tried to find seats mid-play. The atmosphere was completely destroyed.
What makes it worse: the USTA and broadcasters knew about this in advance. They claim they āwarned fans.ā I received no such notice and Iāve been a loyal ticket holder for years.
Meanwhile, the final itself felt stripped of what usually makes it special: no icons like Billie Jean King, no focus on the history of the game. Instead, everything revolved around accommodating one divisive figure.
The USTA constantly talks about inclusion and community. But this year, they excluded their most loyal fans. The message was clear: one man mattered more than thousands of supporters.
Iāve never left a US Open final, or any event really, feeling this bitterly disappointed. Loyal fans deserved better."

Sky Sports Tennis was reporting from the queues and people had no idea why it was delayed or what was going on. There were people who'd spent thousands on tickets who didn't get to their seats till halfway through the second set. That's outrageous.
I'm thousands of miles away on the other side of an ocean and I seemed to know more about why there were delays better than those in the queue did.
Wimbledon has Royals turning up every year. Foreign Kings and Queens too. No delays. No nonsense.
The US Open has really fucked up.

WHy the fuck didn't they get there early?
by Anonymous | reply 156 | September 9, 2025 11:38 PM |
R156 From the reporting I saw, the people being interviewed hadn't been told to do so. How true that is, I don't know, but the facts kinda speak for themselves - it was organised so badly half the crowd was still outside the stadium when they started their warm-up. That's not down to the crowd. They didn't turn up late.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | September 9, 2025 11:42 PM |
^ whoās they? I donāt know the answer to this but I do know if attending a slam final was maybe on someoneās bucket list and/or cost thousands of dollars they should have been clearly informed of probable delays in advance. The USTA did not know for certain Dump was attending until a couple days before final.
If you knew beforehand one would assume youād make extra time.

R158 That's the point. There were people who had tickets and were queuing to get through the increased security who had no idea what was going on. They didn't know why it was taking so long. They hadn't been told to get there hours earlier than they otherwise would have.
As I said before, I'm thousands of miles away and didn't have any tickets, but I seemed to know more about the potential delays than the ticket holders. That's a massive failure on the part of USTA/US Open etc. They could have sent out an email to ticket holders.
Generally speaking, from a PR point of view, this US Open has been disastrous. It's become The Worst Slam.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | September 10, 2025 12:12 AM |
I hope fans can do some sort of a class action against USTA. The value of their tickets evaporated as they were stranded outside. In the very least USTA should offer rebates.

From national hero to ātraitorā: Novak Djokovicās fall from grace in Serbia
Why Serbiaās most celebrated athlete is now being branded an enemy of the state.
Novak Djokovic, once celebrated as the pride of Serbia, is now being branded a ātraitorā by media outlets and figures close to President Aleksandar Vucic. His offense: voicing support for student-led protests calling for new elections.
Government-aligned media turn on Djokovic After that, pro-government tabloids such as Informer launched blistering attacks, labeling the 24-time Grand Slam champion a ādisgrace,ā a āsupporter of violence,ā and a āfalse patriot.ā
Djokovic, 38, has never directly criticized Vucic or the Serbian government. He denied that his Wimbledon celebration was political, insisting it was simply a playful reference to a favorite song his children enjoy.
Djokovic moves Belgrade Open to Athens Adding fuel to speculation about government pressure, the Djokovic family announced in August that the Belgrade Open, an ATP tournament they have owned the rights to since 2021, would not be held in the Serbian capital this year. Instead, it will take place in Athens.
After one of the recent protests, Vucic held a massive pro-government rally under the slogan āWe will not give up Serbia.ā Citizens were invited to hand him letters live on television. At one point, the president read a note supposedly written by a child that said, āI love Serbia. I watch the world tennis champion Novak Djokovic.ā
But on air, Vucic altered the message to, āI play basketball, I watch the EuroLeague, and I love Nikola Jokic. Long live Serbia!ā Critics saw the moment as symbolic of the presidentās effort to erase Djokovic from the national narrative.

jorn Bjorg's lost decade: Tennis star reveals how he turned to drugs after his sport career, almost died of cardiac arrest and now has cancer
by Anonymous | reply 255 | September 18, 2025 2:26 PM |
The enigmatic Swede, 69, who won 11 grand slams and five consecutive Wimbledon titles, has kept his life private until now.
He is releasing a bombshell memoir - 'Heartbeats' - which contains extraordinary revelations about his wild partying and 'extremely aggressive' prostate cancer diagnosis.
Borg had an operation last year and is in remission. He describes himself as 'living day by day and year by year' and admits he finds the diagnosis 'difficult psychologically'.
'I spoke to the doctor and he said this is really, really bad,' Borg told BBC Breakfast.
'He said you have these sleeping cancer cells [and] it's going to be a fight in the future.
by Anonymous | reply 256 | September 18, 2025 2:27 PM |
'Every six months I go and test myself. I did my last test two weeks ago. It's a thing I have to live with.'
In the final chapter of his memoir, which will be released in the UK and USA next week, Borg says the cancer is 'at it's most advanced stage' and is treating is as though he is 'playing a Wimbledon final'.
Borg was a global superstar and the biggest name in tennis until he abruptly quit the sport in his prime aged 25.
'All I could think about was how miserable my life had become', he says about calling time on his career having lost to John McEnroe in the Wimbledon and US Open finals.
From there, his life spiralled out of control. In the book, he says: 'The first time I tried cocaine (the year after retirement in 1982) I got the same kind of rush I used to get from tennis.'
He also describes the moment he collapsed on a bridge in the Netherlands, going into cardiac arrest and requiring resuscitation, also in 1982.
He writes: 'I feel the ground beneath my feet heaving. It's like I'm moving in the air; I can't move forward. We have to cross a bridge, a typical Dutch bridge over a canal where houseboats are swaying.
'At that moment, I sink to the ground. Everything goes black, and the unimaginable happens. I'm dying. I see no bright light or a film of my life passing by; everything is simply gone.
by Anonymous | reply 257 | September 18, 2025 2:27 PM |
'My heart no longer goes boom boom boom, because now it's standing still. Yet, just before everything goes black, I think: how could it have come to this?'
The evening had begun with a lowkey dinner but soon descended into a lethal cocktail of drink and drugs.
The party was in the midst of an exhibition tournament and Borg said: 'I ran into people I knew from outside the tennis world. One thing led to another. Drugs, alcohol, and pills were added.
'After a very short night, I walked to the tennis park with my father. I said, "I feel so bad, I can't play." He replied that it would be fine. And then, bang, I collapsed.'
Borg reflects that the 'worst shame of it all' was waking up in the hospital bed to see his father beside him.
It was a lost decade for Borg, who also had to have his stomach pumped in 1989 when he couldn't be woken up.
He denies that it was a suicide attempt and simply put it down to being a 'wild night' in Italy.
by Anonymous | reply 258 | September 18, 2025 2:28 PM |
'Once I had the drugs in my sights, I was at their mercy for the rest of the evening,' he writes. 'I couldn't stop myself.'
Borg managed to stop the drink and drugs with the help of his third wife, Patricia Ćstfeld and now has a strong relationship with his two sons.
His first son, Robin, was born to Jannike Bjƶrling, a Swedish model and Borg's girlfriend during that lost decade.
They were unable to adequately care for him and Borg's parents were granted custody. 'My life was hell. Other people would have taken their own lives,' he writes of that dark time.
By the time his second son, Leo, arrived in 2003, life was more settled. He told Swedish publication AD: 'Leo is based here (Sweden), but he plays tennis and travels a lot. Robin turned 40 this month. He's got his life together really well, is an ice hockey manager, and has two wonderful children. We see each other as much as possible.'
The sporting superstar was recently asked why after so many years of treasured privacy, he has decided to tell all.
He replied that it is important to him 'to have a good beginning and a good ending'.

Was a great fun day at Laver Cup - so many upsets by Team World.
Not a shock - but I canāt believe how bratty Legz is in person. He emits enough douchiness to fill an entire 18,000 arena. Almost have to be there to believe it.
by Anonymous | reply 313 | September 21, 2025 5:52 AM |
Not surprised Alcaraz lost to Fritz. He sucks indoors.
by Anonymous | reply 314 | September 21, 2025 5:57 AM |
R313 Rune's getting worse, not better. The meltdown he had at Wimbledon about some old guy touching his towel was unreal. He was bitching to the umpire that he felt 'unsafe'. It was actually embarrassing.
by Anonymous | reply 315 | September 21, 2025 5:57 AM |
During doubles tonight (which they also lost) he hit the ball so hard at Demonās head -Demonās racket flew out of his hand with such force he hit himself and bloodied his ear. The match had to be stopped so Demon could be attended to.
Yeah yeah all is fair in doubles but this felt like something else. And Demon knew it.

R329 Agreed. This shit needs to end. It's neither funny nor clever. I've got a three year old nephew who'd roll his eyes at these ridiculous attempts at humour.
Also when we only refer to players with in-joke nicknames these threads become incomprehensible. It makes these threads no better than the fucking Prancing Ponies or those lunatics talking about those kids from Heartstopper.

by Anonymous | reply 462 | September 30, 2025 12:48 AM |
R460 Who the hell is PP? Iāve lost track of all the nicknames
I think the main animus against Fritz comes from the fact heās ranked in the top 5. Heās a solid player whoās made the most of his talents but he just doesnāt have that extra spark to take him to the next level. So seeing him always hanging round the top 5 just seems wrong.

R463, PP is Fritz's influencer girlfriend.
by Anonymous | reply 464 | September 30, 2025 8:13 AM |
PP is Poison Pussy - it doesn't only apply to Taylor's girlfriend; it also fits Tommy Paul's... and any player who dates influencer/Instagram model types.
The implication is that - like vampires - they drain energy from the player.

In further Gays In Tennis news: Our (out) Joao Reis Da Silva gets a walkover in his second round match in this week's Challenger in Chile, and will move straight through to meet Federico Gomez - who set many DL hearts a flutter during his first round match at the US Open against Draper - in the quarter finals.
Should he win, Joao will move up to a career high of 201 in the rankings

"Why People Think Pro Tennis Star Fabien Reboul Just Came Out."
They're using "star" as it's used in "porn star" - anyone in the industry. If it's true, it's great, no doubt, just like the Brazilian guy playing at the challenger level. But these players aren't tennis "stars." It would be nice to have someone highly visible and known to casual fans to come out for max visibility. But that's not on Reboul - good for him.

Another wiltingly poor performance - he loses 6-7, 6-2, 6-1 to Hanfmann.
by Anonymous | reply 500 | October 3, 2025 7:35 AM |
Big Foe is trash

Competing match going on now between Daddy Fritz and Marozsan.
by Anonymous | reply 504 | October 3, 2025 1:26 PM |
Hanfmann is hearing impaired which is interesting.
Foe should have skipped the Asian Swing. I guess even first round money is worth it. Plus maybe sponsors want him to. And some of the events are mandatory - at least Shanghai is. But players are usually able to get a medical exemption; or they just pay the fine. He's been dejected and pissy since that 3rd round loss at the USO.

Daddy Fritz beats Marzipan nonetheless. Zsa Zsa Bergs advances because of Wuud retirement. Munar defeats DL fave Flavio Cobolli, and dwarf Legz+ Machac defeats Monica Bellucci.

[quote]Why are the male tennis stars 99 percent straight?
"Gay self-exclusion" can refer to the psychological phenomenon where gay individuals internalize societal stigma and discrimination, leading to internalized homophobia and a feeling of being unworthy of inclusion or community connection. It can also be a broader term for gay individuals withdrawing from society due to these experiences of social exclusion, such as bullying, family rejection, and lack of support, which can result in loneliness, stress, and even dangerous behaviors like drug abuse and suicide attempts.

[quote]Why are the male tennis stars 99 percent straight?
A consistent expectation of rejection and social discomfort can make gay individuals more likely to withdraw from social situations and fail to assert themselves.

Zverev: "I will NEVER stop being a punk ass bitch!"
He whines that tournaments are making the surfaces play the same to favour Alcaraz and Sinner. This arrogant, deluded fool will never take responsibility for his limited game and mental fragility in the big matches.
Speaking of punk ass bitches: Tsitsipas withdraws hours before his first match in Shanghai against Borges, leaving Vukic virtually no time to prepare.
by Anonymous | reply 515 | October 4, 2025 10:20 AM |
R515 itās true that theyāve slowed down a lot of the faster courts and thereās less variety in speed among the big tournaments, and Iām personally not a fan of that. I want to see variery.
HOWEVER that has nothing to do with Zverev losing to Sinner and Alcaraz, heād lose to them on any surface at any speed. He canāt even beat Fritz ffs
by Anonymous | reply 516 | October 4, 2025 5:35 PM |
Totally r516. If anyone should be complaining about the slower courts, itās Sinner. His game is tailor-made for fast courts.
by Anonymous | reply 517 | October 4, 2025 5:52 PM |
R516 Also, the evening out of the courts has absolutely nothing to do with favouring Sinner and Alcaraz - who have very different playing styles. It's been going on for at least the past 15 years.
A couple of months ago Zverev was claiming that he hadn't won a slam due to Umpires 'conspiring against him'. He'll clutch at any straw rather than the face the fact that he's just not good enough.
by Anonymous | reply 518 | October 4, 2025 5:56 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 521 | October 5, 2025 8:04 AM |
r515, Zverev is such an ignorant bitch. The āhomogenizationā of professional tennis surfaces began in the early 2000s, when Wimbledon began the switch to rye grass in order to put an end to the āunbreakable serveā or āone-two tennis rallyā. Roland Garros then changed their drainage system and tinkered around with their balls to speed things up a bit, while hard courts became āmedium-pacedā. All of this in an effort to privilege base-line consistency with the ability to come in to the net aggressively if the player wanted. The trend to āhomogenizeā has continued since then, but youāve got to be pretty stupid to think that itās being done to favor Sinner and Alcaraz. If anything, Sinner and Alcaraz are good enough in all areas of the court so *they* are suitable for the type of tennis Wimbledon and the hard courts decided they wanted in the early 2000sāall-court players capable of either completely dominating a point or holding up to long base-line rallies.
The end results? The old āIvaniÅ”eviÄ styleā of serve-and-no-return disappeared almost overnight on fast courts, and only the very best players were able to introduce the very rare serve-and-volley. The old South American grinders stopped dominating on clay. And womenās tennis became almost unwatchable, as the game converged to a mindless game of hitting against the backyard shed wall, with few (very exciting) exceptions.
There is no specific strategy against Zverev (psychologically, he is responsible for his own failingsāif youāre a cunt, youāre a cunt and thereās nothing more to it than that), nor is there any specific strategy in place to favor Sinner or Alcaraz. Theyāre just good enough to excel on the courts that have been developed over the past quarter-century. Whether this development is āgoodā for tennis or not is the real debate.
Again, Zverev truly is an ignorant narcissist.

by Anonymous | reply 527 | October 5, 2025 5:04 PM |
Sinner had stomach cramping. Think he had the same thing at US Open - which clearly affected him in the finals. He couldn't serve to save his life.
He should shut it down and get ready for next year. Carlitos has the YE 1 all but wrapped up anyway.

by Anonymous | reply 531 | October 6, 2025 1:05 AM |
It almost seem like he was faking judging solely by his exaggerated limp on court i front of cameras, followed by less exaggerated limp when cameras were not rolling as he headed down corridors
Also- riddle me this- why is it thay Sinner NEVER wants/ allows medics to nurse him when injured. He just quits and runs to the locker room. What is up with that???? He did it today, did it in Cincinnati too..

It seems Vacherot is Rinderknech's cousin. I haven't been able to work out if they're first cousins or not, but they're close and both played for Texas A&M. Next mystery to be solved, why Vacherot's older brother Benjamin Balleret (his coach) has a different last name.

I just watched the same interview, R554 - according to Wikipedia, Balleret is Vacherot's half-brother, so presumably they have the same mother but different fathers.

Just the usual Medvedev match - wildly swinging form - up a set and 3-0, then loses 5 games, gets to a tie-break, gets cramp, loses the tie-break, constantly ranting at his coach, rants at the umpire, gets docked a point, starts ranting that Tien 'never plays this well against anyone else' (he was ranting the same thing about Bonzi at the US Open).
Just Daniil being Daniil.
