NYT Games Thread - Crossword, Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee etc—part 2

I skipped yesterday’s Wordle and I just played it—another 2. That’s 4 in 5 days. Creepy.

Nice.. I hadn’t played it in weeks and got a 2 yesterday, total luck. Got a 4 just now, typical.

I have a 61 day crossword streak.

The Bot gave me a 72 this time: “You got it! With 13 words still to choose from, this was a very lucky guess.”

I'm catching up on old Connections and Magic Earring Ken was a category. What a blast from the past.

I was so sure baconbit would be the third pangram. Oh well.

R9, from the start, I've used AUDIO as my first word in Wordle. It has every vowel except E & that's the most commonly used vowel in the English language so I use it in my second word, figuring I've got a better than even chance of having it appear there. Sometimes my strategy works, often it doesn't but I feel comfortable with at 5a.m. when I'm doing Wordle.

So far, there's a 25% failure rate for this one (in hard mode). It took both me and the 'bot all six tries to get it.

It appears that most players get the last four letters, but there are like eight or nine letters that could be in the first position, so one might run out of tries.
