NY magazine decrees Manhattan days have reached "peak sluttiness"...
This quite the article. Don't know what to think. Basically purports that all the prep/post drugs and sniffies are allowing for a new level of gay decadence, and why not?
Do we think there won't be some bug that will escape all this and destroy the community? How much can a body take?
Or is really the age of "Just fuck it."
Let's Discuss Datalounge?

Read the room—this was posted a week ago and again the thee day.
We’re bored at this point.

R2 Indeed. I’m getting sick of that picture showing up over and over on new threads.

OP 1) there is already a thread
2) the article is explicitly NOT about Manhattan.
3) go back to skool cause readn be fundamemble.

This is the most ridiculous story. Not only is today’s “sluttiness” in NYC nothing in comparison to even 30 years ago, but the whole story is about drugs more than sex. NYC is NOT at peak sluttiness in any way shape or form. Gen Z can barely execute a hookup on Grindr - never mind an in person social orgy. It just gives a snapshot to a small segment of young Brooklynites doing hardcore drugs. Yawn.

not even that hardcore. Party drugs.

The people having all that sex are richer and older than they’ve ever been, so I bet greedy capitalists are upset they’re not getting a cut. They always need to slip in as a middleman, like Lucky Pierre.

This has been going on for years and years, nothing new.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 2, 2025 1:18 PM

It really isn't that new, plus the idea that apps like Sniffies gets you frictionless sex is absurd. The dummies on the apps are the flakiest bitches on earth. You could spend all day trying to get something together.

That’s where cum dumps “fit” in—they thrive in that hot house atmosphere.

I can't believe the author didn't mention Meth once. What a lie.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 2, 2025 3:14 PM

Well the article doesn’t work the same way if meth is included, does it?
Although the sex-related use of meth among this crowd is not the same as what goes on in the streets of white trash America—apples and oranges.

you old codgers are so obsessed with meth. read the fucking article. 3 or 4 generations younger than you - and they are enjoying new drugs.

G and cocaine aren't new drugs, sweetie.

Formulating your own G with scientific precision is fairly recent in the timeline of gayness….

METH! HARDCORE! DECADENCE & DISEASE!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 2, 2025 8:03 PM

r19, I don't know about the latter, but G is DEFINITELY not new!

Meth is brutally addictive and has destroyed many lives. Trust me, I know.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 2, 2025 8:10 PM

It’s not always addictive, but still bad when used.
There are thousands of successful gays, just in Manhattan, who use meth on a recreational basis—they are not addicts.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 2, 2025 8:15 PM

It's very, very addictive. the brain loves it, and craves it after a single use.

I once had a bf who was a recreational meth user (I've never touched that shit) and meth turned him into a zombie for two-three days until he was functional again. I couldn't fucking stand it.

R12, that’s the most entertaining thing about the article: it makes sex sound like another private equity project. Are you maximizing your returns at all times? Are you really putting in the hours to meet your goals? Are you a cum dump or are you a cum dump with a purpose?

We millennials are the slutty ones.
G is popular everywhere these days. NYC is not special in this regard.
This is the third thread on this article, I think.

Yes. Manhattan is sluttier than ever. And I am stunned to find myself part of it. I'm 56 and being approached right, left and center by young gays wanting to bed a Daddy. I'm having more sex now than I did in my twenties. Thank Gawd for PreP and Doxy Pep and all that.

While there was a splurge post-peak pandemic, it’s still not what it was. The whole app hookup process makes it tedious and segmented.

If you don't know that anyone who uses Meth "casually" is at serious risk for dependency and chaos, you are a total idiot. It literally changes your brain chemistry to want more of it. Very simple science.

We, the Maiden Auntie Brigade, have tried a popper (we get the singular plural wrong) once when we indulged in frottage with exciting stranger. And once was more than enough enough! The popper is a gateway drug to hardcore PnP and destitution. We are not druggy sluts.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 4, 2025 6:19 PM

STFU r39. Most sane people think that doing copious amounts of drugs and taking bareback loads raw up the ass is completely reckless and dangerous.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 4, 2025 6:31 PM

It's also exciting and pleasurable.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 4, 2025 6:35 PM

I have no issue with bareback loads or poppers, r39. But the T addict in this thread is obviously delusional. The drug controls its users. An addict that holds a job is still under its control.

Some people can hold contradictions in their head at the same time. And two loads in their ass, unless someone is down for felching.

By the way, I'm just trolling the cautious hand ringers. Yes rampant sex and drugs can have serious consequences. But why so judgmental? Nobody has ever put a gun to your heads and forced you to go join in.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 4, 2025 6:58 PM

r45, T is not like other drugs. I enjoy rampant sex and some drugs, but every T addict I've known is in denial about their addiction. I've even heard the same excuse "there are many people who handle it just fine" from friends who have lost themselves to it. Seeing someone you care about lose control over their life is sad. And when something bad happens and makes life more difficult for them, they will always choose the drug over the smart, life-bettering decision. Always. That is why so many end on the drug eventually end up in a very bad place.

Yes of course I agree. But this particular article is on the surface not describing a meth circuit.
