Study finds generations born after 1939 unlikely to reach 100 years of age

So basically everybody who isn't currently 86 or older won't hit 100. ok.
I don't know if I want to live quite that long, frankly. Would depend on my health and the state of the world.

Between the unhealthy food and the environmental toxins I believe it.

What do I think about what?
The study? The findings in the study?
The fact that you read MSN for news?
It's like saying... I'm OP and I went to McDonalds today. What do you think?

Previous generations weren't? Ah, jeez. I may just have to read the article, first published in the Independent, if you care to pay attention, r3.
MSN has become a clearing house for rehashing news, (like the Hindustan Times). AI scours and spits out a product while attributing to initial source (though you need to look).

This is all based on this one statement: Infant death rates fell at the beginning of the 20th century due to medical advances and improvements in the quality of life for high-income countries, leading to a rapid increase in life expectancy. This decline is largely due to the fact that past surges in longevity were driven by remarkable improvements in survival at very young ages.”
So they're talking about overall life expectancy averages, which increased due to both a lower infant mortality and improved medicine.
But it says - in the absence of any breakthroughs to extend human life - and there is where they are completely wrong. The science in the past 5 years has been incredible with identifying compounds to decrease chances of Alzheimer's, that can decrease aging and its symptoms, and keep us more active and healthier longer.
Somebody just needed something to publish. This is rubbish.

That is a blessing.

I've only budgeted to live to 85.

Who the fuck wants to live to be 100? Everyone who lives to 100 is pretty much a cadaver in a diaper.

Who wants to be 100?

There is also the considerable less mobility of most people today compared to their ancestors.

It’s very badly written, but as R5 says, the article seems to be referring to average life expectancy. Plenty of individual people will still reach 100
Was anyone really expecting average life expectancy to rise to 100?

It’s the vaccines.

This meat carcass has experienced a lot of medical insults in the last four years and I’m only 58.
I don’t want to imagine what other disgusting things are going to sprout if I live 42 years more.
I’ve had ancient great aunts that had more warts around their eyes than toads. I’ve had ancient great uncles who grew hair out of their noses - NOT nostrils, but the sides were growing odd hairs that were seldom shaved because who the hell shaves the exterior of their nose?
Anyway, this is not the personality this world needs. I will not be a cool 100 year-old person.
