Leave it to the NY Post to try and make Rudy sound like some kind of hero with that headline.
Please. He probably saw the woman on the side of the road and thought she was a hooker who would blow him for $20.

[quote]Mayor Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence prior to the accident. He rendered assistance and contacted 911, remaining on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” said Ragusa, Giuliani’s head of security.
[quote]The accident occurred after he re-entered his vehicle, which was then hit from behind at high speed.”
If this were a TV show and someone more important that Rudy, I’d say it was a staged assassination attempt.

I'm sorry - but I don't buy this story at all.
Remember the story about how George Zimmerman supposedly saved a woman's life in some accident as a good samaritan? Never happened - or it was staged.
I'll believe the broken back story when we see him - otherwise the only info we have is from his 'security team', who didn't keep him very secure.
I think he drunk drove, if he did have an accident. This smells like bullshit.

This is a straight up lie, and I know all about lying.
Think of it. Rudy Giuliani is involved in a very serious crash. That alone is huge news with details waiting to come out. The fact that this woman is already known as a domestic abuse survivor - information that is so tangential to the overall story and completely unnecessary at this point - feels shoehorned into the main story to cover up something. Luke why is that very specific detail part of this story?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 31, 2025 8:16 PM |
I don't see any causal relationship between Rudy's interaction with a pedestrian on a city street and getting rear ended on the highway other than both happened the same day allegedly.

The comments to this NY Post article from the magas are hilarious, some want Rudy declared a saint, one guy complained that Rudy went all around the country with the evidence that the 2020 election was stolen and none of the liberal judges would listen to him ( you would think Rudy would have taken all that evidence to a conservative judge then ), calling his the best mayor New York ever had. One said, I am waiting for the day that a demonRAT every helps someone in distress, then someone replied that they would rob them instead of help them. These magas are hopeless in their devotion, I wonder if Rudy dies if Trump will even bother to go to the funeral.

This New Hampshire TV station say Rudy was hit from behind while driving after stopping to help someone. Not while helping someone.
[quote] Ragusa said Giuliani called police and stayed with the woman until help arrived. Afterward, Giuliani was driving on the highway when his vehicle was allegedly struck.
So if indeed he helped anyone, color me doubtful, it had nothing to do with him being in an accident, they just included that to try and make him look good, which makes me wonder what no good are they trying to deflect from.

update from NYTimes:
According to the police account, shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday, troopers were investigating a reported domestic violence incident on Interstate 93 southbound in Manchester when a two-vehicle crash occurred across from them on the northbound side of the interstate. Both vehicles went into the median and were heavily damaged.
Troopers and fire officials responding to the first incident witnessed the collision and crossed the interstate to help the people who were injured, the state police said.
The Bronco was being driven by Theodore Goodman, an adviser to Mr. Giuliani, while the car that hit it, a Honda HR-V, was driven by Lauren Kemp, 19, of Concord, the police said

How heavy is traffic is on interstate 93? Seems a little odd that a car going on the opposite direction would have been the vehicle to stop to assist someone. Did his driver stop and then run across the interstate to see what was happening? If they called 911 unaware of the details of the situation and remained on the other side of the road, then why stop at all and create a hazard? Just call 911 and keep driving, especially with two people in the car.

I suspect domestic violence victim = woman got in a fight with her husband and he left her on the side of the road. Or they pulled over to argue.
Which doesn’t mean she wasn’t a victim of domestic violence. If simply leaving someone on the side of an interstate at 10pm doesn’t count as domestic evidence, it has to be close. That’s very dangerous, even when Guiliani isn’t around.

by Anonymous | reply 116 | September 1, 2025 4:25 PM |
I don’t think he was doing anything sketchy. The police were already there and witnessed the accident. I think the confusion and suspicion is due to his PR team trying to spin a simple mishap into a heroic act. Rudy may have been drunk, sure. But his driver probably wasn’t and it’s more likely that the woman and her partner were shitfaced. Maybe she was stumbling around in the road. So Rudy calls 911 to report it and sits around and waits for the response - doesn’t want to drive away and then have it hit the news that she got flattened after he called it in and “fled the scene.” The police show up, Rudy’s car drives away, but gets back ended by some poor kid who wasn’t expecting a car slowly pulling out into traffic on an interstate.
But instead of saying “They pulled over to report a some people acting crazy and got back ended when they left, after police arrived” they decided to play it like Rudy had actually intervened in an incident to help a damsel in distress.
He’s had enough experience with security to be pretty well conditioned not to get out of his car and stroll over to help an apparent “victim.”

NYTimes Sunday 7 am update
Rudolph W. Giuliani was expected to make a full recovery after a vehicle slammed into his car on Saturday, leaving him with a fractured vertebra and other injuries.
Mr. Giuliani, the former New York mayor and lawyer for President Trump, was riding in a Ford Bronco that was rear-ended in New Hampshire on Saturday evening. The police said the injuries suffered by Mr. Giuliani, 81, and the two drivers involved in the accident were not life-threatening.
The police said the crash was under investigation and that no charges had been filed. Initial reports of how it unfolded, based on accounts from Mr. Giuliani’s head of security and the New Hampshire State Police, were a little unclear.
Here’s what we know.
What happened? Mr. Giuliani was riding in a Ford Bronco when a Honda HR-V hit his vehicle on a northbound section of Interstate 93 in New Hampshire, the state police said in a statement. The two vehicles hit a median and were heavily damaged, the police said.
The driver of the Honda was a 19-year-old from Concord, N.H., according to the police. The Bronco was being driven by an adviser to Mr. Giuliani, Theodore Goodman.
That much is clear. The moments leading up to the crash are not.
Michael Ragusa, Mr. Guiliani’s head of security, said that the Bronco had been flagged down by a woman who was the victim of domestic violence. The former mayor called 911, waited for help to arrive, and then left, Mr. Ragusa said.
The state police confirmed the domestic violence incident, saying in a statement that it had occurred on a southbound stretch of the highway in Manchester, N.H. Troopers and fire officials who were assisting the woman saw the Honda strike the Bronco and rushed to help, the police said.
The statement did not say why the accident occurred on the northbound side of I-93, or whether Mr. Giuliani had been assisting the victim.

[quote]Reading this comment section wondering how many of you would have stopped for aid.
In 2025? Are you kidding me? I would have called the police and reported what I had seen and kept it moving. I know of too many domestics incidents ending with the interceder being the one injured or killed. And I know of a handful of incidents where the entire thing was a set up from the beginning, the victim and the victimizer working in tandem to rob a do-gooder. It's sad, but it is very much the world we live in.

r128, it's such a common human experience it's legendary. Wagner's opera "Die Walkure" opens with the hero hiding out from a woman who called for help and the gang of men he tried to save her from.

I know when I get into trouble on a highway I want a drunken overweight 81 year old man to come to my rescue.

Has Borat offered thoughts and prayers?

I guess I have mixed feelings. I find it difficult to have sympathy for maga, but he was America's mayor during 9/11 and he did many good things. His best friends were a gay couple, whom he stayed with when he left his wife, and he was an advocate (sort of). But then I don't know what happened. He seems to lose his moral compass. Oh well. If he's OK, great, if he's not, great too. My mother always said, never wish bad on anyone, but for some people when it happens you are allowed to enjoy it.

Thoughts and prayers
by Anonymous | reply 136 | September 1, 2025 9:23 PM |
He could have retired to living a private life and coasted on the goodwill of being America’s mayor for the rest of his life. His legacy is shit now.

He saw the broad on the side of the road and most likely thought he could roll her.

Yep. Many years ago I worked for a police force (civilian role, in Canada) and the domestic dispute calls were the ones the constables dreaded the most. Basically nerves and emotions are on a knife edge and it would either end "peacefully" or with the aggressor (usually some loser boyfriend) getting violent.

R135, he was always awful. I lived through it.

R141 Giuliani was not an awful mayor and brought the country together after 9/11. Why this money hungry old man chose to ruin his legacy is dumbfounding. It’s actually not. It’s very simple and typical.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | September 1, 2025 10:12 PM |
So Giuliani an 81 year old man was "helping" a domestic abuse victim from the other side of an interstate highway, across four lanes of traffic and the median. Yeah I totally believe that.
Yeah, and on Jan 6th Giuliani was helping to preserve our democracy. Liar.

R146 right 😂 😂
by Anonymous | reply 147 | September 1, 2025 10:19 PM |
R145 Rudy was always a horrible and petty person. He was also responsible for perhaps half the deaths of the first responders on 9/11. He was the one who insisted on the city emergency center be palced in the WTC, despite the prior terrorist attack in 1993, and against the vehement objection of city council and FDNY and NYPD, and also did not to allocate funds to upgrade the walkie talkies for the first responders, so many did not know the towers they were in were going to collapse.
He was competent in the 9/11 crisis, that's about it. No more no less.

[quote] Giuliani was not an awful mayor and brought the country together after 9/11 . R145 he might of brought NYC together, I don't know, don't live there, but Giuliani had no role in bringing the country together after 9/11, as far as I know the country hasn't ever been brought together by anyone. The country was divided as ever with some people claiming that the US deserved it.

....because the suggested (and current) location of the OEM command center in Brooklyn was A) too far from the TV cameras and B) too far from City Hall for him to slip away for a nooner with his mistress.

Not an awful mayor? I seem to recall that in the aftermath of 9/11, with his national profile skyrocketing, Rudy tested the waters for a third consecutive term, but found that the electorate hated him too much for a change in the rules to be feasible.

OK, this is most likely the real reason Dionne Warwick cancelled her concert - she had a foreboding. A grifter would suffer grave injury…. And Cilla Black has already taken her dirt nap.

He either wanted a third term without an election or to be allowed to appoint a successor.
Bloomherg at least had the decency to allow an election, and the voters enshrined term limits thereafter.
Not really surprising he fell in with Trump.
