Glad to see “Sinners” getting picture buzz. Also, I was surprised to see Lopez in supporting (I thought she would be in lead).

R4, maybe she's the frontrunner because she can actually fucking act.

Given Buckley’s reviews for “Hamnet,” it will be interesting to see if Lawrence retains that front runner status going into awards season.

Based on early reviews, Jessie Buckley will be a strong contender for Hamnet; Mescal will likely get nominated too, but it will be Buckley's to lose. In these times, a movie offering a good cry is solid Oscar bait

R17: I hope he doesn’t get in. He appears to not do anything special in Marty Supreme and the prospect of another round of insufferable campaigning with Kylie Jenner is frightening.

I wouldn't mind Sinners taking best picture at all.

I’m happy Joel Edgerton is finally getting some serious attention. He’s paid his dues.

I think it’s naive to think Jesse Plemons and Emma Stone aren’t major contenders. I know they haven’t seen it yet, but they haven’t seen a lot. I think it’s too early for a list like this.

The Rock lays off the copious steroids for one weekend and expects to be taken as a serious thespian.
