William and Kate's "True Colors" on display, as neighbors told to "Move Out Immediately"

Kate Middleton and Prince William will be moving their family out of Adelaide Cottage and into Forest Lodge in Windsor. However, the Prince and Princess of Wales's relocation to their "forever home" isn't free from scandal.

According to a new report, Kate and William's new Forest Lodge neighbors have allegedly been told they can't remain in their homes, suggesting the couple's "true colors" are on display in their decision to move.

The Mail on Sunday reported that, before Kate, William, and their children move into the "300-year-old Forest Lodge," a number of neighbors will need to move. In fact, "two separate families who lived in cottages next to the country mansion were asked to vacate their properties."

Tenants were reportedly "surprised" to learn they'd be forced to leave their cottages on the grounds of Forest Lodge, which had "been rented out by the Crown Estate." A source told the outlet, "They were told to move out. I guess they were given somewhere else, but they were told they had to move."

The source continued, "They were not expecting it. Those houses are very close to the lodge, so they're not going to want any Tom, Dick, or Harry living in those houses if there are going to be royals there."

The outlet also suggested that Forest Lodge is a "considerable upgrade" from Adelaide Cottage. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis's new home includes a "chandelier-lit ballroom, tennis court, Venetian windows, and extensive grounds," per the publication.

by Anonymousreply 1August 18, 2025 1:14 PM

Is there any difference between this and a landlord telling a tenant to move out so his niece or nephew could move into the house or apt?

by Anonymousreply 2August 18, 2025 1:19 PM

ROFL. Here come all the apologists!

by Anonymousreply 4August 18, 2025 1:29 PM

What’s good the goose..and all that.

by Anonymousreply 5August 18, 2025 1:29 PM

I scanned the article & I thought the "true colors" comment pertained to the fact that they were paying for renovations themselves

I would assume the cottages belong to the Royals and if so, they have the right to ask people to move, though they likely offered to relocate them, not just kick them out

by Anonymousreply 6August 18, 2025 1:33 PM

They won't have been told to "move out immediately" as that would be illegal. The tenants would have had a contract with a certain notice period in it. It might be 30 days or so, but it's not like the Crown Estate is some kind of slum landlord.

by Anonymousreply 7August 18, 2025 1:35 PM

They should have taken the Royal Lodge and told Andrew to move out.

by Anonymousreply 8August 18, 2025 1:35 PM

You know, they have a perfectly lovely estate at Anmer Hall, part of Sandringham. I thought that was their happy place. It was a gift from the Queen.

by Anonymousreply 9August 18, 2025 1:37 PM

What a ridiculous non-story. The tenants being kicked out are given other places to live. The 'true colors' clickbait headline is not in reference to the eviction but to Kate and William paying for the rental cost of their new home with their 'own' money, iow aren't they fabulous?

Not many people know Wills and Kate have their own money. Apparently Kate has resurrected her mom's bankrupt party pieces business and William dresses up as a clown to promote it at non-royal gatherings.

by Anonymousreply 10August 18, 2025 1:38 PM

As if a family that isn't hyper-sensitive to public image would not assure that these families were given plenty of notice and even offered alternative lodgings.

The laziness of this non-story is an insult to a Royal gossip hound like me.

If William and Kate are going to be dragged an iota of credibility is required.

by Anonymousreply 11August 18, 2025 1:42 PM

R9 Sandringham is 150 miles from Windsor. Not very handy for dropping the kids off at school.

by Anonymousreply 12August 18, 2025 1:42 PM
I would assume the cottages belong to the Royals and if so, they have the right to ask people to move

Yes, but they could have at least given these people six months, to a year's notice.

Who in the hell can just pick up and move an entire household in one month??

by Anonymousreply 13August 18, 2025 1:55 PM

Where does it say they were given a month's notice, R13? Also, the article itself concedes, "I guess they were given somewhere to go to".

The Waleses will probably want security people and possibly senior servants to have those cottages.

by Anonymousreply 14August 18, 2025 2:01 PM

R13 Unless it was written into their contract, why would any landlord on the planet give a tenant six months to a year's notice?

by Anonymousreply 15August 18, 2025 2:08 PM

What happened to them moving into Fort Belvedere? The media has been harping on them moving there for months.

by Anonymousreply 16August 18, 2025 2:10 PM

I read somewhere a few days ago that all people affected were provided with equal or better lodging elsewhere.

by Anonymousreply 17August 18, 2025 2:11 PM

I'm no fan of William, but that article reads like a hit piece. I can see the necessity of the moves of these close by people strictly for security sake.

by Anonymousreply 18August 18, 2025 2:16 PM

Yes, they need this fourth house for the children's sake.

The other three houses only have an outdoor tennis court, and it sometimes rains!

by Anonymousreply 19August 18, 2025 2:18 PM

R16 Fort Belvedere is subject to a long term ground lease. The fee owner (the Crown) can’t just evict them. Other properties at Windsor have similar long term leases and many much shorter leases. The shorter the lease term the more likely there is a right to evict or shorter notice.

by Anonymousreply 20August 18, 2025 2:22 PM

Ground lease = leasehold in the UK Fee = freehold in the UK.

by Anonymousreply 21August 18, 2025 2:25 PM

The original tenants of Fort Belvedere are now dead, the wife passed away a couple weeks ago. Their children inherit the lease. But even if they were amenable to being bought out, the optics, now nearly a century past, would not be good.

by Anonymousreply 22August 18, 2025 2:31 PM

by Anonymousreply 31August 18, 2025 3:07 PM

I wonder if William and Kate personally evicted the people or if they sent in a gang of crowbar-wielding skinheads at 3 AM to throw the tenants out into the street.

by Anonymousreply 32August 18, 2025 3:09 PM

I'm writing the screenplay, where Harry and Meghan move back. They resume Royal duties. Charles dies, and Meghan divorces Harry. It will take place over 3 years.

by Anonymousreply 33August 18, 2025 3:10 PM

What a perverted headline. The “true colors” quote in the last paragraph was someone stating that William and Kate are truly good for paying for all of it themselves. The headline writer knew that the headline constructed in that way would be construed by American readers to mean something bad, which is the opposite of the quote.

by Anonymousreply 34August 18, 2025 3:12 PM

I'm sure the tenants were relocated to lovely homes and compensated for their troubles.

by Anonymousreply 37August 18, 2025 4:47 PM

I'm no fan of Harry and MeAgain, but these two are no bargain, either.

Hell, most of that family has simply become so icy and joyless as they've aged. Long gone are the laughs of Fergie, the service of Diana, and the wisecracks of Anne. They're all so damned dour and sickly now. Which leaves the audience wondering "If these people can't at least be entertaining, then what the hell is the point of them anymore?"

In their defense, this is supposed to be their 'forever' house and it's comparatively modest for the (future) King of England. The couple have never had any live in help. Adelaide was quite small in royal terms.

by Anonymousreply 40August 18, 2025 5:11 PM

by Anonymousreply 42August 18, 2025 5:15 PM

The facade of the house is an unholy mess. It looks like the interior has been substantially redone many times, leaving some nice spaces but likely a hash overall. It must offer some strategic advantages because it's not much aesthetically.
You know, they have a perfectly lovely estate at Anmer Hall, part of Sandringham. I thought that was their happy place. It was a gift from the Queen.

Anmer is way up in Norfolk. This new place is near Windsor, and the children's school. It's also close to Eton where ostensibly George will be in a couple of years.

I have no problem with them getting a bigger house in WGP - Adelaide House was far too small for their family - but this merry-go-round of large estates is dizzying. They now have three large-scale homes: Anmer Hall, the KP apartment, and now Forest Lodge. Are they keeping all of these places when Charles passes, or staying put during William's reign? If the latter, what becomes of Buck Palace, Clarence House, Sandringham, the apartments at Windsor Castle and even Balmoral? Sandringham and Balmoral will be owned outright by William personally.

There aren't enough working Royals to live in all of these places. I worry about Sandringham - if W&K are comfy at Anmer, what happens to the larger estate house? No more Christmas there? I wonder if they will continue to summer up in Scotland at Balmoral, as Charles has continued to do.

by Anonymousreply 46August 18, 2025 5:38 PM

What scandal? There is no scandal, just another pathetic attempt by Harry and Meghan's MC minnions to trash his family.

by Anonymousreply 47August 18, 2025 5:39 PM

r44 I believe Camilla will keep Clarence House as her "in town" residence, in London. I believe Charles has made this clear and William will likely abide by this. After she passes, who knows, it will probably be converted back to royal office space, or possibly rental residences, same as St. James.

by Anonymousreply 48August 18, 2025 5:39 PM

OMG paid staff were asked to move out of their grace and favour cottages and then moved to better accommodations elsewhere in Windsor Great Park. What terrible hardship! How mean of William and Catherine....epic eye roll.

by Anonymousreply 49August 18, 2025 5:44 PM

Wouldn’t Camilla be more comfortable in the stables?

by Anonymousreply 50August 18, 2025 5:45 PM

R50 Camilla has her own estate which she really loves and even after their marriage and his ascension she has been known to take a break and go there to chill out. I don't remember the name of it. I do think Charles is going to see to it that she has everything she could ever want if he pre deceases her. He will definitely not leave it up to William. Where Camilla is concerned Charles trusts no one but himself.

by Anonymousreply 51August 18, 2025 5:51 PM

I believe Charles has made this clear and William will likely abide by this.

It’s clear but only a belief or only likely? Make up your mind, kind Sir.

by Anonymousreply 52August 18, 2025 6:19 PM

R51 it’s called Haymarket.

by Anonymousreply 53August 18, 2025 6:19 PM

r52 Charles has made many things clear to William over the years but it's always a question as to whether William will abide by his wishes, as he tends to go his own way on things. Since this is a situation that will occur after Charles's demise, and involves Camilla, it's a toss-up IMO if William will go along or do something else.

If Charles is able to secure some kind of lease or leasehold for Camilla at CH, or some kind of legally-binding promise of tenancy for her for life, then it may be moot as to what William wants or thinks.

by Anonymousreply 59August 18, 2025 6:33 PM

Charles isn't going to leave anything up to William or anyone else. He will go through whatever legal process is necessary to insure Camilla is taken care of. He may even make portions of his will public.

by Anonymousreply 60August 18, 2025 6:36 PM

The D/L take on Camilla is always adorable to me: always someone comparing her to a horse, always the dark musings about here post-Charles fate (a moustache-twirling William will surely tie her to the railtracks as soon as she is undefended!).

In reality, she has been a wealthy woman all her life, and has her own children, grandchildren and friends. The very worst fate possibly in store for her is that she will spend her twilight years in their company at her own dream home in Wiltshire.

However, as the Queen Dowager, I’d bet that she remains in Clarence House and retains those of her charity interests which really appeal to her. She may retreat into the background of the new reign, but she is likely to be in her eighties anyway and (at the very least) has her own divorce cash settlement to fall back on. That has probably been invested rather wisely, untouched over the past 2 decades.

by Anonymousreply 68August 18, 2025 7:50 PM

Clarence House is supposed to be where a dowager or a sibling to the monarch lives. George isn't old enough to live there yet as future Prince of Wales, so Camilla has time to use it.

But she'd probably rather have Highgrove as a widow.

by Anonymousreply 69August 18, 2025 8:06 PM

I am beginning to see a correlation between MAGA fucks and Royal-ass kissing Remoras.

There is nothing the grifting royals can do that would be seen as too far in their eyes.

by Anonymousreply 70August 18, 2025 8:06 PM

I could see Clarence House being used by an elderly Edward and Sophie, once Camilla dies. They will probably be full time working royals until they are quite old, given how young the Wales children are and how long W&C want them to stay unencumbered by duties.

I don't believe Buck Palace will be used to house family members in the future. There are sets of "apartments" or rooms there, used by Andrew, Anne, etc when they are in London on royal business, but I think that will be phased out in the future. BP will become strictly a "showpiece" palace, tourist attraction and used for garden parties, functions and State Dinners. They may put offices for staff there.

The Wales kids seem to have a warm relationship with Camilla and she seemed engaged and protective over them at the Queen's funeral. I recall a video a few years ago of the kids (Charlotte especially ) waving goodbye and exchanging pet nicknames with Camilla and Charles as they boarded a private helicopter after visiting them.

Charles also seems engaged and playful with Camilla's grandchildren.

Louis wanting to be with Grandpa Charles at public events also speaks to a familiar relationship. I doubt they are cold fish to the grandchildren.

I forgot where I was going with this....

Anyway, I'm sure they are better with the grandkids than they were with their own kids, which happens a lot. Adult children end up appreciating parents/stepparents who are good to their kids even if they didn't have a great relationship themselves.

Personally, I think it's a mistake for William (and Charles if he lives past the completion of the renovations) not to live in Buckingham Palace after he becomes King. The repairs to BP are being paid for in part by taxpayers which include the royal apartments. Because of that, it should continue to be the primary residence of the monarch while in London.

by Anonymousreply 94August 19, 2025 5:09 AM

It's right in the heart of tourist London - it kind of makes sense to open up the palace & the gardens for tourism since no one could live there & the costs to make the building secure & tech friendly for offices must be enormous. I recall from a previous thread, someone indicated that the BRF would likely never to do it, but it seems to make sense.

by Anonymousreply 97August 19, 2025 7:56 AM

Buckingham Palace is open to the public for part of the year. A good chunk of the royal art collection is on display there. In the past Charles suggested it should become basically an art gallery, while using the state rooms for formal events. In practice, that is how it works anyway, but there are probably security issues in operating like that all year round as a dual purpose venue , so the two roles alternate.

by Anonymousreply 98August 19, 2025 8:35 AM

Buckingham Palace also (like The White House) has a notorious problem with vermin.

Once you get past the state rooms and the Art galleries Buckingham Palace is essentially apartments. Anne stays there at times, Sophie and Edward have too. I expect William and Catherine will stay there once in a while when there are big doings, or state occasions in London. Their new "forever home" is at Windsor. When I travelled from London to Slough to see Windsor Castle it took us about 40 minutes by train. I'm betting Buckingham Palace will still be used as a residence but not often. Right now Charles and Camilla are perfectly happy at Clarence House. I read that he is now at Balmoral for the summer recess. Or whatever it's called. When we toured the Cotswolds a few years ago, we saw all these lovely cottages with the quaint thatched roofs, and our guide told us in the Fall, the mice head for the roofs where they make their nests for the winter months. The historical associations mean that they would face criticism if they got rid of, for example, Sandringham (where George VI died) or Balmoral (where QE II, popped her clogs).

It has been known for decades that Buckingham Palace is not a favourite home of the Royals. Queen Elizabeth much preferred Windsor and Charles prefers Clarence House. But there are political reasons for retaining it. Turning the headquarters of the institution into a museum hardly makes the Monarchy look modern and vital, so there is likely to be a compromise whereby the family keep just enough of a presence there to make it seem lived-in.

by Anonymousreply 108August 19, 2025 5:01 PM

Please..the WH has been the president’s home for about the same amount of time as BP has been the monarch’s home. Turn it into a fully public museum / garden and be done with it. All we here about on DL is history and tradition—well, the history and tradition is that the “royal house” has moved over and over again.

And so it goes…. —Linda Ellerbee, of the Texas Lindas

by Anonymousreply 109August 19, 2025 5:12 PM

I could see William off-loading Sandringham once he becomes king. He’d keep on using Balmoral though.

Here. Hear*

by Anonymousreply 111August 19, 2025 5:23 PM

Hunny, there are political reasons to keep Balmoral even if it weren't a favorite of Elizabeth II. it maintains a Royal presence in Scotland. And since Elizabeth the Queen Mother was Scottish, there are these ties. It means Elizabeth II and Charles have Scottish blood. All very important for a United Kingdom. I don't think they will get rid of Sandringham either. Now there are a ton of Royal properties they will probably lease out to wealthy people who can afford them. Correct me if I'm wrong. (I know you will) Is Sandringham and "estate" and Balmoral a castle? I wish there was a list of all the Royal property holdings. I Read somewhere that St. James in London is a shit hole. Gloomy and used only for offices. Drab and desperately in need of rehab. There are buildings on the grounds of Kensington too, and at Hampton court that need a lot of work. Has Fort Belvedere been razed?

by Anonymousreply 112August 19, 2025 6:05 PM

The personal is not the political.

Scotland is not chomping at the bit to follow Camilla on a walk about.

No one actually lives at Holyrood do they? I thought it was an artifact, glorified rubble. The fact that Balmoral has always been touted as the "favorite" of monarchs, and their familys for extended stays is very different than an artifact. Holyrood is like the pyramids. That's like saying people are living at Stonehenge.

by Anonymousreply 117August 19, 2025 6:22 PM

Kate has a real problem. She seriously covets other people's homes. They also kicked a family out of Anmer Hall & Kensington Palace (and probably Adelaide Cottage too). And we all know she's been bitching to the tabloids for the past year in the hopes of getting Andrew out of his house that he's lived in for over a decade. She is something else. And OF COURSE, this mansion, like the other 3 mansions, eventually won't be good enough for Kate. She'll spend a serious fortune having it renovated (she'll have gorgeous craftsmanship ripped out and burned), then in a year or two, she'll want to move into someone else's house. This has been planned for over a year. The media asked Kensington Palace about this and they LIED and LIED and LIED. And now the media is pissed off. Kate & Willan went back on their deal with the media.

I think Kate really wants to live in Windsor Castle. And that's fine. Why not? I don't think any other royals live there. William will eventually be king and should live in one of the castles. If he doesn't want that, then do something with the castles. It's 2025, Monetize them.

But of course, if they do live at Windsor Castle and get divorced, Windsor Castle would become Kate's residence, just like Kensington Palace was Diana's residence. Charles & his courtiers don't want that.

I laughed my ass off when I read that ridiculous silliness about this being their "forever home", is the biggest joke I've heard in a long time. It sound like something a 13 year girl would say after reading a teen romance book. Kate came up with that cheesy bullshit, in the hopes of shutting down discussion in the media about her latest mansion. Instead, the media laughed and jumped right on the story. Kate & William now have 4 MANSIONS. And NONE of them are good enough for Kate.

R118 is a fucking lunatic.

R118, are you related to r115?

I admire the truly amazing confidence you both show while demonstrating your intelligence.

I'm only surprised r118 didn’t write "(she'll have gorgeous craftsmanship ripped out and burned, [italic]just like her diseased bowels![/italic]"

You're the one who had to say r121.

Nice try.

by Anonymousreply 122August 19, 2025 6:59 PM

Kate looked extremely unwell at Wimbledon. She had a lot of muscle wasting. She has always been thing but this was next level. She actually reminded me of Chadwick Boseman. I hope that she is OK and still recovering. I actually don't think that she should work again if she chooses not too. Let's hope that she has many years ahead of her.

by Anonymousreply 123August 19, 2025 7:01 PM
You seem to be a bit confused by the entire idea of the British monarchy. Of course the heir to the throne has multiple estates. He doesn't NEED them, but his father has them so he must have them too. 'Twas ever thus.

Bullshit. At all times, Charles has only had a country home and an apartment/home in London. After the divorce he lived in St James Palace (but he didn't keep his KP apt). Then he moved into Clarence House. He didn't keep his St James Palace apt. William keeps all his mansions. He collects homes.

Charles' Kensington Palace apt wasn't some grand apartment. It was half the size of William's KP apt (a mansion). It was an outdated, run down apartment (even after renovations, it still looked old & run down). charles certainly didn't spend close to $7 million (US) renovating any of his homes. Kate & William spent that much on their KP apt. (I bet it cost much more). They LIED about paying for that renovation themselves.

Charles country home (which was VACANT and run down when he bought it. And for it being a billionaire's home, it's smallish. The estate is lavish now, but it took 40 years to get it to where it is now. William and Kate want their home to be a lavish, masterpiece from day one. The want the best of the best of the best. The taxpayers will pay for a lot of this. The royals always say the taxpayers won't, but then we find out later, they lied & the taxpayers did pay for quite a bit of it. They'll say it was for security reasons, but they'll manage to get a lot of their portion paid for by the taxpayers.

Kate & William now have 3 gigantic, lavish mansions. The media hilariously calls Adelaide Cottage a tiny little place. It's 5 times bigger than the average British person's home. That proves how selfish, greedy & out of touch Kate & William are.

William did say he hoped to end/cure homelessness in just a few years from now. This is William's idea of curing homelessness.

There are very nice royal apartments at Windsor r118. QEII lived in these, Prince Philip died there. W&K could live very comfortably there.
But of course, if they do live at Windsor Castle and get divorced, Windsor Castle would become Kate's residence, just like Kensington Palace was Diana's residence. Charles & his courtiers don't want that.

In no way, shape or form would Catherine be allowed to continue to live at WC in the event of a royal divorce. She would have to vacate. Other accommodation would be found for her in the area, should she want to stay there: there are many nice properties in WGP. Diana needed a place in town to live, QEII allowed her to continue to live in the KP apartment. KP is a multi-purpose, multi-family, city-based palace so this was doable; this would not be done at WC.

I'm sorry but I lol at this.

Why would William 'off load' Sandrigham? Anmer Hall is there. Forest Lodge is a Crown estate, not that one could expect admirers of the Harkles to comprehend many "facts." The truth is what their minds decide it is, per Just Call Me Harry (remember that?).

by Anonymousreply 136August 19, 2025 9:08 PM

I don't know why everyone thinks I'm stupid and acting mean to me. I certainly didn't come across as mean and filled with spite as R118. I'm very harmless. I was just offering an observation/question about Holyrood? It just seems ike agloomy place in a state of disrepair. Filled with the ghosts of times past. William Wallace wanders it's halls from time to time. Or so I have heard. And sometimes when people think it's raining, it's Robert the Bruce pissing out the window.

by Anonymousreply 137August 19, 2025 9:43 PM

R118 is KGT/notsugar herself. You can spot her unhinged vitriolic posts about William and Catherine from space.

It's not just because of the rats. Buckingham Palace is very cold and damp with ancient boilers and wiring. Hence the decades long restoration project to bring it up to code.

Victoria was the first monarch to live in Buckingham Palace. It was new. So altogether 5 monarchs have lived there.

by Anonymousreply 141August 20, 2025 12:12 AM

I think the "renovations" while probably necessary, are also convenient. Charles was very comfortable at Clarence House and then going off to Highgrove. Comparatively speaking he lived modestly as Prince of Wales and when he spoke of "scaling back" it was about more than the working family. It was also about crown properties.

by Anonymousreply 142August 20, 2025 12:15 AM

R141 not new. Wiki : It was acquired by George III in 1761 as a private residence for Queen Charlotte and became known as The Queen's House. During the 19th century it was enlarged by architects John Nash and Edward Blore, who constructed three wings around a central courtyard.

William and Kate stans might just be the angriest people on the internet. I wish I understood why.

by Anonymousreply 149August 20, 2025 2:59 PM

NONE of them have Diana's charm or Fergie's joie de vivre.

Will and Kate should sit down with Fergie and let her teach them about navigating the royal functions and celebrity life with more ease. They're too cardboardish and upper crust for the masses. Have fun more. Go to a drag show or concert and just let it all hang out. Fergie was a class act who knew how to have fun. Fergie had a dignity mixed with a charm that is missing from this pack.

Diana's absence goes without saying. The woman was always pure class and turned heads.

by Anonymousreply 150August 20, 2025 3:27 PM

Kate won't divorce him. She's worked her way into this role since she was a teenager.

She might DIE, but she won't be leaving him anytime soon. Balding little squirt.

by Anonymousreply 151August 20, 2025 6:09 PM

I wouldn't touch slut Fergie with a ten foot pole. She was so close to Jeffrey Epstein that he paid all her bills for ten years. Leave it to a clueless Harkle stan to regard Fergie as a "class act."

by Anonymousreply 152August 20, 2025 6:32 PM

Well, Fergie IS classy compared to Markle and her bug-infested cookies

by Anonymousreply 153August 20, 2025 6:55 PM

Fergie was beloved by the elder royals because her military-family upbringing taught her an endless supply of scatological jokes, and Philip supposedly loved that style

by Anonymousreply 154August 20, 2025 6:58 PM

WHO CARES

by Anonymousreply 155August 20, 2025 7:10 PM

R150, the new book out about Prince Andrew also has a lot of stuff about Fergie. She got screwed in the divorce but also this is a woman who just spends, spends, spends. She’s constantly in debt.

by Anonymousreply 156August 20, 2025 7:52 PM

R150, while it's doubtful Will and Catherine would do any of those things, it's doubly unlikely at the moment. They are the hands-on parents of 3 young children and she is recovering from cancer, chemo, and whatever else was wrong with her abdomen in the first place. I'm sure they can be forgiven for not being front row at the Oasis concert! I agree they could loosen up a bit more, but it's not likely to happen any time soon given their current circumstances.

by Anonymousreply 157August 20, 2025 9:59 PM

R157 is right. They must project the image of family. Three adorable little kids, and being out in nature, sporting events, learning experiences, art, music, etc. They can be informal, but not "loose."

As for Fergie, both she and Andrew are crooked as corkscrews and he was always finding ways for someone to bail them out. Fergie was also leaking shit about the family to the tabloids for pay. She was a real shit stirrer. Now Sophie and Edward and Anne managed to stay away from all that. But Charles, Diana, his kids, etc. were fair game. Going back quite a few years, Andrew was a Trade Representative, or something, and he had contact with various organizations and corporations to promote the UK to the world. He partied hard, made a lot of questionable deals and managed to shake down some big shots for money including sheiks, etc. There was quite a scandal until finally the Queen had to relieve him of his duties. Phillip was said to be incensed at Andrew's stupidity and his grasping ways. Andrew having shady friends was nothing new and the Queen knew about "the Epstein matter" long before we ever had a whiff of it.

by Anonymousreply 158August 20, 2025 11:39 PM

What about B & E? They were raised by those two grifters.

They seem nice, but they’re both constantly changing jobs. Good thing they had the sense to marry rich.

by Anonymousreply 159August 21, 2025 12:45 AM

B&E married wealthy, but not particularly rich. Both of them have the money in the marriages, thanks to Andrew’s shady business deals as trade ambassador. The financial stuff, more than Epstein, is what cooked Andrew’s royal goose. Paper (or electronic) trails that show how many millions he was skimming off the top from his international criminally minded cronies. Epstein was horrible, but he’s largely a smokescreen to prevent the public from finding out about the financial stuff. Details of that could cause a serious wobble for the monarchy.
