I know I’m late to the game. I watched it on a transatlantic plane ride - all 160 mins of it. If you’ve never seen the show, don’t waste your time. If you are not a fan of musicals, don’t waste your time either. For the way people went on about this film - it was very middling. I was expecting to be moved at some point, but I wasn’t. There wasn’t one song I got into. I felt I was just getting through it. Chicago still remains the only movie musical I think non-musical theatre people can enjoy.
I just watched Wicked -DL PSA

I think you're an idiot for trying to watch a movie like that on a plane. It's pure spectacle and you need a screen bigger than 12 inches. It's like watching Dune on an iPad.

The spectacle of it all wouldn't have saved the movie R1. I can see being moved by that if you are a fan of Wicked itself. But coming into not really knowing much about it, not knowing any of the songs really, it was not as good as everyone lead me to believe. Save your time.
