Gal Gadot: Snow White flopped because of Hollywood pressure to speak against Israel
Gal Gadot claims that ‘SNOW WHITE’ flopped because of “the pressure on celebrities to bring up things against Israel” rather than her terrible acting.
“You can always explain & try to give people in the world a context about what’s happening [in Israel] & what the reality is here, but in the end people decide for themselves”

The funniest take I read on the movie was that Gal was instantly on board when she heard it was a bomb aimed at children.

The movie failed because it was a ridiculous remake that absolutely nobody asked for.
Snow White wasn’t white, the dwarves were not cute and the evil Queen, while evil in real life, was ridiculous.

I never realized how much that language sounds like Klingon. She also sounds like she smoked a pack of cigs before the interview, just perfect for demure Snow White!

Oh I see she wasn't Snow White. She was the old hag queen. Okay yeah she was perfectly suited for it. I wonder why it failed.

An IKEA table is more convincing as a human being on screen than Gal Gadot.

It didn't fail because of Gal Gadot either tho unlike what the anti-Zionist/Palestine-lovers kept claiming. Her "poor acting" had little to do with it.
It was branded as shitty, woke Snow White from the start. THAT is what killed it.
Atrocious CGI with no sign of artistry in trailers. The dwarves controversy with Peter Dinklage. Rachel Zegler being a stupid, loudmouth bitch and going so far as to slam the original movie for not being woke enough. And then she looked like shit in the movie, too. Like a dollar tree costume with a terrible wig that made her look ugly as hell.
All of that had far more to do with it being a bomb than anything pro-or-anti-Israel. Or Gal Gadot.

Gal Gadot is a terrible actress. And that fact has nothing to do with her country of origin.

This must be the same reason her Internet singalong of "Imagine" was such a disaster.

Given that Rachel Zegler is vocally pro-Palestine and she's the movie's actual star (Gadot was the villain), by Gadot's twisted logic here the film should then have been a hit.

Rachel was such a strong woman to continue supporting Palestinian human rights even though Gadot and Marc Platt demanded she stop. She is an Incredible and Gal has killed too many innocent people to star in movies fuck her

She’s terrible in everything.

It would have been better with an over the top campy queen chewing the scenery.

You mean Gal "Hasbara" Gadot? Former IDF soldier? She thinks her film flopped because of "pressure" to say bad things about Israel? Good lord, the delusion.
Does anyone (non-zio) actually buy this bullshit?

BS. There is no Hollywood pressure to speak against Israel

It flopped because it was a turd.

So Gadot is now trying to gain on Erivo in the "Huh, Gurl?" department.

The movie had a problem because of her horrible co-star, not because of Gadot.

The “horrible” co-star actually got the best reviews of the film. The only thing deemed “horrible” was that she was slightly brown

Both Rachel's and Gal's me-me-me personalities and outspoken socio-political views exhausted the potential audience. Both women are beautiful but unlikeable in their public personas. Even those of us who agree with some of their views are tired of it all. Promote your movies, smile and shut up.

Reading about how bad Gal Godot is in this movie makes curious to see it.

That would mean supporting Rachel Ziegler, so no thank you.

I had to look after your comment R21.
Of those 6 films, Spellbound was direct to Netflix, so who knows how they measure sucess.
Of the other five, 4 were outright bombs (which surprises me). Most barely made their budget (which considering ticket sales go half to theaters means they lost money).
Only The Hunger Games was commercially successful (which again surprised me).
So ...

As a leading lady almost certainly.

Is it also the reason everyone hated her "Imagine' post during the pandemic?

Let's ask the real questions: why is she permanently cursed with shitty hairdos?

I put the movie on just to see how good or bad it was. It was bad. I'm sure there are a handful of kids who may have liked it. Another person's trash is another's treasure I suppose.

It pisses me off that Disney hired private security for billionaire Gal Gadot and not for Rachel who was getting far more hatred d threats from right wing nutjobs.

It flopped because it was an unnecessary adaption, Gal can't act and Rachel isn't a draw.

[Quote] Rachel isn't a draw.
She's more like a repellent

So both actresses careers were ruined by this movie?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 20, 2025 11:50 PM

The origin movie came out in, what, 1937? It was groundbreaking as a full length feature film but did it need a live action remake? Snow White is iconic to the brand but hardly the jewel of the bunch. I'm on board with Hercules and Hunchback. I hope those can survive and make it to the screen.
