L.A. Olympics will be first to offer venue naming rights
“Our job is to push and our job is to do what’s best for the Olympics in Los Angeles,” LA28 chairman Casey Wasserman told The Times. “Our job in those conversations [with the IOC] was to explain why this was more than just about money. It was about experience and value and opportunity.”
Of course the Trump Olympics would be the first to do this.

LA does not need the Olympics at this time, especially since it looks like it will turn into another Nazi Games. Casey Wasserman (son of you know who) is not only a Jew but also a UCLA alum yet he proudly stood next to Trump when they made this stupid announcement.

I'm so disappointed that Trump will be president during the 250th anniversary of the country in 2026...and during the Summer Olympics in 2028.
It's just more attention drawn to him and his corruption. Maybe he will have a heart attack soon.

The combination of late-stage capitalism and the Nazification of the United States are two sides of the same coin.

R8 hardly. They hosted the first profit-making Games in 1984, and are recreating the same model for these Games. 1984 is considered a landmark success. 1996 is considered a lesser Games—mediocre in all respects.

That's because we didn't have those pesky Russians.

1984 got a lot of hype because of the Eastern Bloc boycott and the record medal count for the U.S. that wouldn't be possible without it, plus it was the apex of Reagan's America. The 80s at their most 80s.
1996 was not great to begin with, lots of disorganization, a B-tier city struggling to appear world class, and then the bombing happened. Pretty grim in comparison.
